3. That raccoon has an extremely shiny fish! You may use 1 Action Point to steal the Fairy Fish.
... too bad I’m out, lol. RIP, fish.
Upon closer inspection, Skuld realized that the shadow was actually... fairly small, and of course, thanks to living in the Fallguard, she quickly identified the creature it belonged to. Raccoons in her home were much less shady looking though and, squinting, she noticed that it carried something peculiar in it’s paws....
Wait....
Was that.....
Gasping, Skuld charged forward, "Hey, come back here!" It was the fish! Something a shiny, shimmery fish - it had to be what she was looking for! But the raccoon was a crafty one, and it zipped away before she could get to it. To add insult to injury, the amount of items she was carrying weighed her down until, unfortunately, the snake skin slipped down and tangled between her legs. With a screech, she went tumbling down with a crash.
Skuld groaned once the world settled again, and a quick glance up showed that she was too late. The raccoon was gone.
With a scowl on her face, she stood and began gathering her finds. That was it. She was done. Time to go back and report to Kale. Maybe he’d help her hunt down the raccoon....
Your character rolls a 4-8: You've caught sight of something moving in the water and go to investigate! Roll one (1) D6.
Einarr stared around him in plain discomfort. Between the bones in his mouth and the evidence of decay and death in the air around him... the description that that stupid berserker had given him was far from the truth. Trust a berserker savage to send him to a place that reeked of death. Einarr wouldn't be surprised if this area was Kale's home rather than the tree. He wouldn't be surprised if Kale was the reason this area smelled so heavily of death and despair.
Einarr pressed on. He couldn't turn back now... well, he supposed he could. He could warn the Fallguard never to trust Kale and that speaking to him would only bring despair and waste a Knight's valuable time. And yet... Turning around seemed cowardly. Puffing his chest out, Einarr reminded himself that he was no coward. He was the son of a large direwolf and a brilliant wolfdog. He had a lady waiting for him at home and he would not disappoint her by turning away without finding out what all this fuss was about.
Taking a deep breath through his nose-and then gagging from the smell, he pressed on. He stopped at the mouth of the cave, trembling, but he repeated the words in his head. I am Einarr and I am no coward. As he entered the cave. Onward he went and it was inside that he saw the water. The crystals. The caverns further inside. The light was almost blinding, but he shook his head to clear it. Placing the fish bones at the edge of the water, he squinted at the surface. It looked like something was gleaming underneath... Now if he could only reach it... (WC: 284)
2. You dig around in the water and uncover a small pile of gems!
Einarr crept to the edge of the water and dipping one of his paws into the water, pulled it back sharply. Goodness, that was cold! Shivering, he took a deep breath and put his paw back inside the crisp water. Sliding it in further until he felt the bottom of the pool, he began to dig around the water until he uncovered what was likely causing the gleam he'd seen. A pile of gems! How marvelous.
"Oh look at you pretties." He whispered as he scooped them out of the water and onto the shore with the sparkling skeletons. Maybe there was something else he could find around here. He could just picture Silke with one of these gems in her ear. Maybe one of the Lost Rook could help fashion something like that for her... Or maybe he could find something even prettier than even a gemstone for her. Not that anything would ever compare to her beauty, of course. (WC: 161 I'm going to be using my last action point to roll 1d20 again!)
Your character rolls a 4-8: You've caught sight of something moving in the water and go to investigate! Roll one (1) D6.
Einarr had had such good luck with locating the gems in the water that he crept around the waters edge and peered in. Sure enough, like before, he spotted more things gleaming beneath the surface. Would it be more gems? Or would it be something entirely different? He hadn't seen any monsters, not beyond the monsterous berserker Kale. If ventures and quests for monsters always turned up with such matters as these... with jewels and sparkly trinkets... Maybe he wouldn't mind returning to Kale for another quest. How far off where quests and ventures, really? His eyes gleamed as he reached in the same paw that had located the gem pile, only from the opposite side of the pool of water this time.
What delights would he find digging under the surface of the water this time? There was only one way to find out. His paw touched the bottom and he started to dig. It was time to reveal the treasure he'd found! (WC: 163 I'm used my last action point to roll 1d20 again!)
2. You dig around in the water and uncover a small pile of gems!
Einarr's paws revealed upon digging further that he did find more treasures. Not things that were new, but things that were still precious. Another pile of gems! He looked down at the waters and wondered if all of the treasures underneath the surface were gems just waiting to be dug up. He scooped them up too and with great care brought them one by one to the other side of his growing wealth pile. Well, it wasn't something new, but perhaps that would be better. Now Silke could have one in each ear... and he could too! They could match! What an endearing idea.
"Oh, she'll love it." He spoke to the glittering gems. He was able to fashion a way to carry them out of the cavern. "But we've got to get you little gems out of here first." He didn't know why he was talking to them like they were alive. He supposed it was merely comforting to hear his own voice in this otherwise desolate region. Simple as that, really. Now, better yet to leave now that he'd gotten what he'd come for. An adventure and a prize. That was all he he had wanted, really. (WC: 198 )
Your character rolls a 9-14: You notice movement back towards the cave entrance and decide to investigate. RNG a number between 1 and 3.
It'll become a paradise soon. It'll become a safe haven soon. Thought Meadowsweet as she continued to follow the stream. Back home, they were hidden by similar dark and damp, but the evidence of decay here unnerved her. Everything felt heavier here than it did at home. She ruffled her fur out, but was careful not to lose anything she'd stuck in it.
Eventually she came upon a glowing cavern. Something underground surely. She looked down it in distaste and wrinkled her nose. She didn't like going underground, but... She was on a Quest! She couldn't turn around because she didn't like dirt... or because she didn't feel safe... or because... She shook her head sharply.
"Stop coming up with excuses and go in!" She told herself and plunged in.
The resulting sight was blinding and incited a headache from her. The waters that pooled out cast brightly lit reflections on the rest of the walls which were covered in crystals. It was as though the place were illuminated by the moon itself! With a flash, she saw a fleeting movement behind her and turned to go back to investigate. Was there something else with her in this cavern? Or... someone else?! (WC: 202)
Cross Road followed the winding path to the strange glowing cave, he felt he should run, but if he did then he would have no stories to tell about this part of his journey and he could let that happen. He made himself go into the strange cave and he started to look around to see what he could find. He finally found the entrance to the cavern curious since he had never been in a cavern before. He moved back to the cave entrance to look around and see what he could find. He frowned the strange glow of this place made him nervous. He took a deep breath to steady his nerves. He had to get through this and see where this story ended if he wanted to have an amazing take to tell when this was all said and done. If he faltered he would still figure out a story to tell but the truth would be so much better.

Cross Road looked around but there was nothing there to find, he sighed disappointedly that this hadn't been the moment where he had found a shimmering fish and returned to Kale a true monster hunter. He sighed again and looked around trying to figure out what he should do next. He didn't have any ideas just yet. He sat down to think things over, where should he look and what should his next move be. He hummed softly to himself as he thought things over. He laid down in the spooky glowing cave and then went back outside to think breath and then perhaps go back in and try again. Perhaps then next time would be the charm and he would find the prize they had been seeking. His paths were a bit tired from this big adventure but he couldn't give up just yet if he wanted to earn this story the hard way.

Cross Road must have stayed outside too long since when he tried again he ended up with a bad headache and couldn't really do anything with this so he ended outside again. He had run out of luck and energy to finish this quest. It was a shame, but he had some good material to use to tell a story of a wondrous fish and a spooky cave. He laid down and waited to see what others would find so perhaps he could add more details to his tale if someone found a fish to show off to the others. His head hurt badly so he closed his eyes to rest. Perhaps he would take a nap and then see what he should do next for the end of his adventure. He let his mind drift a while as he rest and waited for the headache to pass him by.

Finally! Something he could write home about. Oath Breaker followed the stream for as long as he could before nearly giving up - what was the point? Well it turned out that the point was right there in front of him. The stream was leading him there all along and he couldn't have been more pleased with the bleak entrance. He found some comfort in the decaying surroundings and was impressed with what lay just beyond that.
Without hesitation the puma found himself pursuing the entrance of the cave, and leaving beyond the bright skies in favor of darkness. As he entered the cave he realized that it wasn't all as dark as he had expected it to be, the name of this cavern certainly spoke for itself. The light sparkled and danced on the walls which was a delight to witness.
"Oh, it continues." He hadn't been paying close enough attention. It wasn't until his paw touched water that he noticed the stream continued. Wait, what was that.

"There it goes." His eyes followed the glint of something moving in the water, perhaps a fish? Perhaps just another rock. His thoughts turned bitter and he grimaced at the thought of turning up another rock, in a cavern of all places.
It was worst than that though. "Nothing. I've found a whole lot of nothing." The puma grew miserable and agitated. How had he gotten all this way only to be duped not once, but twice! Doubt weighed heavily on his mind as he looked around. Was he sure? Was there nothing?
"Yes. I've found nothing, the water has tricked me more than once." Suspicions grew in Oath as he stared at the water a little longer. Was there something special about it? Did the crystals have this big of an impact? His unspoken questions went unanswered while the last words he said echoed in a haunted taunt of his failures.

Failures wouldn't hold back any others from the pack he belonged too and even if his eyes were clearly very tired Oath talked himself into continuing. It couldn't hurt to search the mischievous caverns one more time, could it? Perhaps another time if the second proves fruitful.
"There it is again!" His eyes darted towards movement in the waters. The sparkling was distracting, but not the end all. Oath dashed forward, eager not to miss out on yet another prize and in the process he stirred up quite a fuss. With all of his commotion he bothered the dirt and sand in the water, turning it from a crystal clear to hazy. The water still managed to look pristine and he wasn't quite sure how. In all of the hub bub he managed to also stay focused.
"I'm not crazy, there is something here." Oath realized by saying 'I'm not crazy' typically implied that one was, in fact, crazy but he had to defend himself.. from no one.
Wild Holly was really glad that she had figured out that Nowhere was leading them nowhere when she followed the winding path that Anywhere told them about and she found herself at a really strange cave and cavern. She was fascinated by the glow of the strange cave and she wondered what it was and why it glowed as it did. Was it magic? Glowing moss? Perhaps it was like a firefly? She caught sight of something moving in the water. So she went to look and see what it was. She was curious and excited to see what she might find. She loved these adventures so much. This is what made her heart beat faster. She was so glad she had met Kale and had become a Monster Hunter. She felt like she had a little bit of a handle on what she was doing and she was glad for that.

Could it be? Trust had been slaughtered and he was sure no one could blame him. The way the water sparkled, the way it moved, it seemed like there was always something there.
"No way." He whispered this quietly. Had he done it? His belief in himself was still very much rattled and he actually almost looked away. "IT'S REAL." He shouted! The shout echoed in the caves, bouncing from cavern wall to cavern wall. This startled something deeper in the cave, but he couldn't give a wisps a** about what anyone else was doing.
Swiftly the puma struck the water and was almost immediately rewarded. With extreme efficiency Oath ripped a fish from the waters, careful not to puncture it (or damage it's pristine looking scaley body) and hoisted the fish into the air. "I found one!" Another shuffle deeper in the cave told him that he was disturbing others - still. But he did. not. care.
Wild Holly smiled when she came up with a Fairy fish scale she was so excited about the small but amazing find. She wondered what she might find next on this adventure. She was loving this and she knew that Kale would love to see the small item, she had given him small evidence before. She still hoped this time she would find the real deal and not just little pieces like last time. She wanted so much to see a Fairy fish for real. She wasn't sure how she would take it to make to Kale though. She certainly could take it back to him alive if she did find one. Considering it was a fish and would need water and she couldn't take a stream with her after all. She wondered if a raccoon could make a moveable stream somehow. She tilted her head thinking things over and then she went back to searching the cave.
