Looking down at the uneven stones beneath him, even if he wasn't near the center anymore, he knew it would be a nuisance to deal with but it couldn't be helped. The cavern itself was very large, and the way they went in seemed to be sealed off. While it may have been possible to reopen it... 'It would likely make many more rocks fall, and our survival would not be guaranteed.' He noted to himself, so it was no longer a viable route out of here. Though how they planned to get out of here he was unsure. He could just barely make out walls, or at least what he thought were walls, in the distance. It seems this was larger than he ever thought. How such a thing could exist beneath "solid" stone he was unsure. He hoped there was a better way out of here than risking the ceiling falling down on their heads. He was relieved as he heard of an exit by the mechanical girl, and his eyes followed to where she mentioned it. He could see a small opening, more a crawlspace, but it would be a way out. It did not seem wise to try to make the opening wider, as it could collapse their only way out. And while they had strong people here along with the mech suit, he had read about cave-ins. There could be so many things that can go wrong if they tried that it would not be worth it. Glancing at mech girl, he knew her suit would not fit. It would need to be left behind.
Before he could make his way there though, someone called out about movement. Turning his head, he would notice a moving ceiling and lights other than the Lioncourt's appearing. Two of them to be precise. 'Death stalkers.' He noted to himself, one staying back but the other advancing. They could handle this; they had the numbers. However, as one moved forward it illuminated the ceiling...and revealed a large swarm of ravagers on the ceiling. 'This is not a good space to fight...we are outnumbered.' He thought to himself. He hoped someone had a large effect semblance or weapon, and went through his own stuff as people responded to the threat. He noted Yui leave burning arrows out for light, a good thing for those who couldn't see, before flying up to engage the ravagers. A human and the rabbit seemed to be near the front, the girl getting ready for a fight. The rabbit took charge, which was good, saying those who could should fight the ravagers while the rest fought the death stalkers. Mech girl would complain about the sudden light, why she had her goggles off he was unsure, before climbing into her suit and mentioning the escape again and that she could potentially clear it with her suit. 'Does she not realize how unstable it is?' He wondered to himself. Trying to open it more could cage them in with the grimm, and that would be bad. He would look to her, make sure she noticed, and shake his head. He made a death motion with his hands at the idea of opening it.
Then the worst thing happened. One of the other flyers yelled to cover their ears as Chase did reflexively. He heard the Lioncourt yell for her not to before the wounded one unleashed a painfully loud scream that seemed much too loud to come from normal lungs. The cavern, while large, naturally amplified the sound...and kept it contained. While not in front of her, it would be hard to fight and react like this. He couldn't fight if he was covering his ears, and neither could many others. He noted the rabbit faunus was affected most of all, his rabbit ears likely being especially vulnerable. Chase then looked down beside him to his hound, who had no hands to cover its ears. It howled painfully and almost pitifully...before Chase could think his hand reached for his repeating pistol and a bullet was sent toward the shoulder of Skylar. He had to get that sound to stop; for his hound and their own survival. Dogs had sensitive hearing and her sounds weren't helping. They would all be sitting ducks with the wounded one's screaming; easy targets for the grimm because they had to cover their ears. Whether or not it stopped her, he would force himself to do something he was not at all used to, comfortable, or even wanted to do; speak. "We...need to escape! Half of us should cover...the hurt...And the rest go through the opening. I...Volunteer." He would pause, the words seeming strange to his lips as he had to almost yell. He would nudge his hound to the opening and point, so that it could escape and hopefully recover from the dreadful sound. Then he would aim his repeating pistol towards the ravagers above and fire off a shot. And another. And another. Firing off a total of 8 rounds and felling an equal number of ravagers, which spent all the rounds he had on his pistol. He would begin to reload it, while keeping an eye on the front towards where the Lioncourt was. He had his sword and scythe to join them, but he didn't want to go in close yet. While Lioncourt was in the front with another, he had to try and protect this end as well.

Everyone was fine! The role call seemed to be success for the most part as well! It was too hard to tell by how far they had descended, the ever growing darkness getting impossible to see a thing. People could be lying to Tabitha for all she knew. That would be utmost rude!!! The only thing that could confirm the truth to all of this had been because of Yui, who had been kind enough to lend a helping hand to the group by granting light! She wanted to fire arrows with her though!!!! The scene looked like so much fun!!! Well... Long as nobody got their eyes shot out through their skull~!!!! Speaking of eyes... How strange Widget had been complaining about her eyes though!! Was this the third time this was mentioned? Or was it the fourth? Tabby hadn't been keeping count, only barely recalling this having been said earlier on. If her eyes were bothering her from the light that much... How come her eyewear had never been put on her the first time around? Of course, Tabby was to kind to be one to ponder on such a feeble issue with another. The most she could do was a bit of a humored smile as per usual, bouncing around the group with a happy stride. She was only happy for there to be light!! This should help the fainty faint girl wake up from her beauty sleep! This was no time to rest after all~. They were on a mission~! Not a slumber party~! Of course, she was oblivious to Riekka's true reasons of slumber... Least she could sleep in peace~! Was she even with them? That was the bigger question.... How unfortunate from the group they were not alone for long, enough for her to think that one ove.... High up above their heads, through the darkness of the caverns the light couldn't reach... Were the most adorable creatures Tabby had ever seen. What on earth were they!? "So cyuuuuute!!!"
How Tabby wanted to squeal in delight!!! There were so many up there!!! So many, she didn't want to count them~. Lookit them little wings~! Those adorable white faces... and Fangs!!! At first, Tabby responded to their arrival with both her harpoons unsheathed, arms spread out on both sides of her, trying to mimic their wings. heehee~ this was fun~!!!! There was a scorpion deathstalker too~ They were epic!! They needed paddle spanking though!! They- "KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!" Who on earth was doing that screaming!!!! They were deep down into a cave!!! Voices and echoes escalated tenfold in caves!!! Were they cray-cray!? Tabby could not take it!!! The screeching hurt!!! "Someone make her stop being screamo music!!!!!! This is quiet music time!!" Plugging her ears made no helpfulness in this matter!! Yui at least tried to silence her the sensible, more ladylike manner with explanation. When the lady's words were ineffective, the loud gunshot in the air was the thing to bring the ginger haired woman to her senses. "Kapow kapow!!!! Stawwwwwp all the racket!!!! You will make the batty's attack!!! Think of poochie!! Quick!! Who did that!? Oh!!!! The guilty one was Chase!! That was when she heard him speak. HE DOES SPEAK AFTER ALL!? There were many questions ready for Chase later on, should they all survive that is...
For the moment, helping with exits and fighting were two options at the moment, her picking the first option. "Tabby can help escape~!!!! Sheathing one harpoon, she looked around for the most harmed comrade, seeing Ren with the most troubles. Chase's poochie was already making for the exit, and Tabby for sure was going to accompany~! Without a single warning, she rushed over towards Ren, grabbing him by a wrist. "Come with Tabby if you want to live!!!!" Without seeing if the poor bunny was ready, she pointed her harpoon towards the direction of the exit, firing with as much accuracy as she could. About 3 meters from the exit, the grappling hook of her harpoon struck rock near the ceiling, and with immediate action, Tabitha totated the grip on her harpoon, setting the line to reel in. The moment this had happened, Tabitha lifted both feet off the ground, shooting herself and Ren forward, noticing the shiny on his feet. With a crazy idea in mind, and without asking him, within their short time range, whichever ravagers were closest, she started swinging the poor, deaf faunus, trying to flail his feet against the ravagers. "Take that!!!! The mighty deaf bunny of justice and deafness!!!!!!!! HUZZAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"... And the caterwauling began.
The ravagers were rustled b the cavern, but they had not yet been made aware of the newcomers. That is until Sakura. Sakura was the first one to speak. Immediately dozens of red eyes honed in on her presence.
Dinner was served.
The creatures exploded into a black mass of wings that roared like a thousand feral cats. The air was thick with blood-thirst. Ren had already taunted one of the Deathstalkers with an empty can that he had tossed at it, its attention turned immediately on him. The swarm blasted towards them from all directions. Scratching. Biting. Clawing at every inch of exposed skin of both Sakura and Ren. There were so many that it was near impossible to see the Deathstalker's movement, all except for the fact that it was making its way towards them as well.
Suddenly, flaming arrows blasted through the swarm, revealing quick glimpses of the huge Deathstalker charging at full speed to them, nearly upon them. Yui slayed Ravagers left and right, but more kept coming from the darkness above. About half the Ravagers seemed to freeze in air from a shriek up above. Writhing in pain, they crashed into others causing a small break in the frenzy for Saukra and Ren to make their next move, Yui had joined them, but the Deathstalker was now on the as well. Whatever they did next, they needed to do quickly.
Two Ravagers behind Skylar were unaffected by her shriek and both latched themselves onto her left wing throwing her off balance and causing her to lose altitude. Chomping viciously at her feathers. The Ravagers on the ground started to regroup. They had a new target and it had lovely wings. Several of them could be seen blasted to blackened dust by Chase. One after another dropped, but there were so many more.
Tabby rushed in to rescue Ren and get him to the small exit on the other side of the cavern. Swinging him like a ragdoll, but Ren's feet did smack into a poor Ravager and sent it flying right into Chase's face. Unfortunately, the second Deathstalker was awakened with all the ruckus and intercepted them. It sat clearly in front of the exit. Blocking the only way out. It didn't seem too aggressive and knew it had the advantage if it stayed put. It had armor covered in cracks and stains, revealing that it was obviously much older than the other.

Mid-scream, she caught sight of Yui who was looking at her with concern and mouthing something. It finally clicked that what she was doing was a monumentally bad idea despite the opening it made in the mass of flying creatures swarming them which were disoriented and crashing into each other in their frantic efforts to escape the sonic onslaught she was unleashing. Just then, he was hit from behind and felt weight and sharp pain on her left wing. The impact had saved her from, what she thought was an errant bullet and, as she began to fall, she turned her head, hitting the two latched to her wing and six others who were about to hit her at point blank range, killing them before finally ceasing her sonic attack. She used her right wing to slow her descent and gingerly flew down. She landed, blood leaking from her wing. A quick inspection confirmed that the bones were not damaged and she wasn't missing anything that wouldn't heal up, but, she was not flying with her wing like this.
She looked around and would have apologized, but, now was not the time. She switched to her bat, whacking one of the ones that had survived her scream, spattering it before going back to her rifle. She could see that one of the deathstalkers had taken up a defensive position at the exit and she adjusted her scope and aimed for one of the glowing eyes. She wouldn't pierce it's carapice, no chance, this think looked larger and tougher than the other. It was well within range of her rifle and she'd taken longer shots before so, hopefully, she would actually hit. She took a breath and pulled the trigger, immediately pulling back the bolt and slamming it back. She couldn't stay in one spot with everything around them so, she started moving. ☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█Team:SLAR█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁

Widget finally unplugged her ears as Skaylar's wailing ceased. She had started to move for the exit when the second deathstalker took up guarding it. She leveled her canon arm. As some of the flying ones flew at her, she swung the other arm, scattering them. Two circled back as something slipped out from her shirt. Beaded and a yellow-green, it darted between her legs and quickly jabbed two of them in a blur before retreating behind her. She hated even showing her tail, but, the situation required it and it clicked as it rocked back and forth at the ready to jab any others that approached her. As she used a built-in mic to amplify her voice so the others could heard her through a pair of speakers."The big one is blocking the exit. We have to take it out to get out of here."A shot rang out from Skylar's rifle and she followed immediately with her canon. Right now, she had it set to manual fire just to avoid hitting anyone who might run in front of her, but, if needed, she kept at the ready to start spooling it to chain fire.

Ren glared at the death stalker that he managed to get the attention from. He could see the swarm of Ravagers move around before he brought up his arms, his aura activating quickly to help defend his inebriated tail from being devoured by the feral bat cats. He stumbled back a bit while his eyes were decent enough to see the moving glow of the tail. The deathstalker began to charge while Yui slayed Ravagers left and right in the air before she moved down to help with the Deathstalker. However, just as Ren was about to stride forward from the ravagers, the flame arrows helping to guide his way, a loud piercing sound could be heard. He could see the vibrations and his own eyes could tell the world was being distorted. As he took one step, his foot buckled and Ren slipped onto his knee, his body slowly failing him while his eyes turned from drunk, to shock and then straight to horror.
He moved down onto his hands and knees, TRYING to get his bearings while the sound kept screwing the world around him before as the last thing he remembered hearing, was a warning... for everyone to cover their ears, something he physically CAN'T DO. Soon enough, Ren's entire body went limp, his eyes frozen in shock as his body trembled from the sound as all he could hear once it was over was the ringing. He felt stunned, his body paralyzed in fear as a natural prey reaction and there was a new fear sinking in.... the possibility of death. Tears and drool were beginning to come from the paralyzed rabbit before suddenly, he felt something grab his arm. He thought it was the deathstalker, but he could still see it making its way towards them before he was dragged from the floor. He was brought up and promptly being flailed around like the 'dead' rabbit he was, his steel boots smacking and breaking a couple of Ravager's bodies while he was being brought to the rather small exit, some drool spilling out onto Tabby's harpoon and body because of the paralysis.

With the group making it down from the collapse and, Tabby's somewhat successful roll call, Widget pointed out the deeper darkness. A passage, huh? Well anything is better than waiting around. At least that's what she thought and quite a few others probably shared it. Yuki was a bit stunned to see Widget decouple from her suit. Though happy she is unharmed it was still mildly alarming. Though it made sense. Her suit wouldn't fit through that small opening. Yuki's night vision was working as well as it always has and she confirmed it for herself. She walked over to Widget, losing her balance occasionally on the loose rocks littered across the cave floor and gave her a pat on the back. "Great job, Widget! And thank you for everything!" she smiled. Everyone seemed to be somewhat ok. She walked towards the other memebers of her team and she thought as something felt off. "What happened to the mist? What about that strange wall I bumped into and the wind that was blowing through?" she thought. She set those thoughts on the back burner in her mind and wanted to make interact with the other two of NTSS. Just as Yuki was about to approach Tabby and Chase she heard something. Near the wall? She turned her head to see the wall of the cave...moving? "Uuum...ok?" she uttered aloud. Lights began to dance on the walls and the hair on her neck stood up. 'Get ready to go on the offensive, everyone!' was all she needed to put some distance between her and the "wall." The creature stepped out of the darkness into the bit of light they had. The first thing Yuki notice was the inverted teardrop. Gold and extremely dangerous. Death Stalkers. Huge scorpion type Grimm. Size and power. A great combination... when it's not your opponent. She notices the ceiling is lighting up as well. "What now?!" she thought.
The ceilings moves and screeches. This Grimm Yuki was unfamiliar with. Bat like and numerous. "You've got be kidding me!" she said at the dozens of Grimm. Two Death Stalkers and a bunch of these bat things? Awesome. She quickly pulled out Nightingale in shotgun mode and took aim at the DS then to the Ravagers and shifted between the two keeping eyes on both. The swarm began to attack. Yuki took aim and unloaded a few shells into the flying creatures effectively dusting three of them. Yui absolutely tore through a chunk of the Ravagers. Quite the skilled warrior; she couldn't help, but to be impressed. Flying enemies weren't her specialty... would be true if she didn't have excellent aim. She grabbed one of the many rocks strewn across the ground and tossed it up and down before reeling her arm back to throw it. Just before the release, 'Cover your ears!' The rock fell as did she to her knees. She held her wolf ears down practically trying to push them into her skull. Skylar released a bold and strong soundwave that only amplified itself by bouncing off the cave walls. Making it worse for everyone. On the other hand, it proved effective for the most part.
The attack ceased and Yuki was forcing her senses to return. The first thing she noticed was the other DS blocking their goal. That's when it made sense. It wasn't as aggressive as the other because it was older. Proven true by the cracks on its armor. Yuki made a great effort to stand and made her way back to Widget. She jumped and landed next to her keeping her eyes on her surroundings. "Do you have anything that can blast that things armor? It looks way weaker than the other. If you can I can make a bomb and blow him to kingdom come!" she said awaiting a response. Suddenly, she heard something that really surprised her. Chase has a voice! And the first thing he said was so brave and inspiring. She nodded and resolved within herself she would stay as well. After all, she was a team leader and her skills were more suitable for combat anyway. "I volunteer to cover the injured as well!" she shouted. Suddenly she saw something that would have been funny during nearly any other situation. Tabby was using an unconscious Ren...as a weapon. And it was effective. "Only Tabby." she sighed internally before Taking more shots at the Ravagers. Post Count: 17

Escape seemed wondrous! The light was there just ahead like a dot of hope!! The rocks would prevail as obstacle perfection! The bats were no match for the weaponized bunny bun!!!! Some of them they missed, and paid for it with bats clawing at them as they were drawn in. Rude!!! Tabitha could do it though! She could feel it in her soul! They would succeed! Get out of there, and feast on foods a plenty! First off would have been the salmon on sticks!!! Tail and all~..... Oh she could just drool at the imagery~ The floppy tails, the meaty goodness.... the-KLOMP!!!!!!!!!! "Kyah~! Giant SCORPPYYYY!!!!" At the last minute, Tabitha had only taken notice it was the end of the line for both bunny and woman, the exit covered by a deathstalker. It's glowing tail had been what had truly snapped her out of her thoughts, but it was too late to back it all up.
Unsure how many ravagers had been actually taken down or hit on their trail, she was unsure. In order to avoid hitting full on rock, she had to literally yank the hook back on it's short tether to the harpoon, her aura just catching the reeling hook from actually cutting her. This only covered one problem. Their fall they were on their own. It wasn't too high of a drop, but it was enough to bruise! Tabitha had done all she could to hug Ren protectively, taking most of the hit from the ground impact. "Owiiiieeeeeee~!!!!!" At lest Ren managed to get a comfy landing. Her aura couldn't absorb the full impact, some of it disturbing her lower spine. From the landing, Stabby had rolled away, stopping just in front of the deathstalker itself. Uh oh..... At first, the red head had taken no note. Setting Ren beside her upon the ground, she had realized then she was a harpoon short. "Stabby!? Where are you Stabby~!?" towards the direction of the grimm her golden eyes had landed, her irises widening when she noticed how close the weapon was towards it. "Bad Stabby!!!" Puffing out her cheeks in anger. Through her mindset, that deathstalker wanted her weapon! That could not happen!!! That weapon was hers! Oh, she would show that weapon thief who was boss! Unsheathing her second harpoon, she would turn the weapon at the center. In doing so, an electrical charge lodged on the inside of her weapon activated, making the sharp edges of her harpoon an electrifying terror. oh now that thing was in for it!!!!! Taking aim, she fired the electrified grapple launcher at the scorpion, aiming straight for its face, hoping to give it a real shocking experience if it would hit. Surely such a giant target would be impossible to miss! She had to protect Ren and get back her other beloved weapon!!!!

The ravager were more a black mass than individuals at this point, if you were to look at the swarm itself. How many there were, Chase had absolutely no clue. What he did know though was that there was no way he had enough bullets to kill all of them. Only enough to slow any immediate ones down, and even then. The main reason he wanted a covered escape was because of the death stalkers. Now, seeing the full extent of the ravagers, it only enforced the idea they needed to fall back. An individual ravager itself was nothing to worry about. A swarm could be dangerous. Combine trying to manage them and two death stalkers in the room only made things much worse all around. Even with his shooting, and others, there were still a few daring enough to attack them head on. He watched as a pair of them struck the screaming bird, making his bullet miss. Which was fine by him because it stopped the screaming. He wasn't sure if that meant he should thank the ravagers or not, though it wasn't an immediate stop. All her screaming did before was stun them, which was nice, but there had been many still left un-stunned. 'At least now we are able to fight effectively.' He thought to himself, with slight relief that it didn't have to be his bullet to stop her screaming.
That was the last he got to focus on others for the moment. At that moment an errant ravager flew straight into his face, from Chase's perspective. His gun had run dry at that moment as well, leaving him to try and pull the ravager off with his free hand. Which he ripped the thing off and tossed it to the ground in front of him, before stomping it with his boots to get rid of it. 'Annoying creature.' He thought with disgust. He would reload his pistol for now, and try to take stock of things quickly. A glance in front showed, briefly, a charging death stalker to the Lioncourt and other girl. A glance behind him showed a death stalker sitting right at their exit. 'The best laid plans of mice and men...' He thought to himself in irritation, then worry. 'Where was the hound?' He worried, looking around but not seeing it. He had to hope that meant it made it to the other side, and had to worry about himself for now. And the others as well. It seemed the rabbit faunus was still out of the count, but Tabby, leader, Mech girl, screamo, were all focusing on that one for the most part. He could go in to help them as well, but they should have the best chance of holding out. However, that meant lioncourt and the other girl were on their own with ravagers and the death stalker.
Sighing, Chase would sheathe his pistol and draw his burial blade...Transforming it into scythe mode. 'If it is blood they want, then it is blood they shall have.' Chase thought to himself as he charged towards the death stalker headed to Yui and the other girl. He wasn't sure how effective he would be against it, but he was damn well going to try. Any Ravagers that got in his way would get sliced by his scythe. He wasn't sure why he felt inclined to go help them; logically he should abandon them and focus on opening up the exit. But with so much firepower being dumped on the other, and only having his pistol, he felt he would be of more use here. He just hoped he could stand the tide holding off till the exit was cleared. He had volunteered to stay and cover the retreat after all. 'Just leave them.' Was still a thought coursing through his mind as he continued his charge. He wasn't about to listen to that at the moment though. Some thoughts came to using his semblance, but if he did there was no guarantee he could replenish after. Or that he would have enough time to make it truly effective. And with the death stalker charging as well, time was short. If Chase could make it in time, he would try to block any attack against the Lioncourt or other girl with his scythe. If he got there too late, he would try to slash it's stinger off with his scythe.

In ƚhҽ Đαɾƙnҽss
Arc 1
▣◈▣◈▣
『Inƚo ƚhҽ Đαɾƙnҽss – Ȼoɭɭαρsҽ Sƚαɠҽ Onҽ』
◈▣◈▣◈
[Setting: One deathstalker blocking the small entrance out, another near the area where the original collapse happened. Ravagers swarming the entire area swooping down to slash at people randomly]
Sakura and Yui were in imminent danger. The Deathstalker's left pincher went straight for Sakura, it was about to grab her, and very likely cut her in half with raw force until Chase's scythe intercepted with a heavy strike. He barely made it in time, but now its other pincher went for him only to be knocked off course by Yui's arrows from behind. Its tail came from an odd angle below and slammed into Sakura knocking her unconscious and sending her back into the wall behind. Yui managed to strike the Deathstalker with a second round of arrows before its pincher flew back and sent her into the other wall unconscious as well. Now only Chase and the Deathstalker remained.
Sky would find herself swarmed by several ravagers, but nothing she couldn't handle with her bat. They would swoop down at her every other time they passed by to try and scratch at her skin with their talons. It wasn't enough to stop her from taking a shot at the deathstalker by the entrance though. Sky's aim was true, the Deathstalker [LV 1.0//100 PC] was smacked in the face with her shot (applying her 44 post count to defeat it). It didn't seem to do much damage, but a small crack appeared in its carapace. This wouldn't have been significant, except Widget's cannon made contact shortly after and only a foot away from the weakened point causing the shell to fracture. A loud cracking sound revealed three long grooves spreading out several feet from the original impact spot. Widget made herself loud to point out the Deathstalker which then drew a swarm of ravagers her way (Roll a d10 -- if you get 1,2, or 3 Widget gets bit by 3 ravagers in places of your choosing, otherwise she can fend them all off without harm).
Yuki's shotgun blasts were wiping out ravagers left and right. Particularly effective versus a swarm of grimm. Not a single Ravager was able to get close to her due to this advantage. She had a clear view of the field and could see that there was simply too many of them to win. The group needed to make an escape before it was too late and the older deathstalker was blocking the only way out. A lone ravager would crawl on the floor towards her, a wing broken from one of her shots. Its little toothy mouth snipped at her feet, but otherwise nothing too dangerous was close to her. Yuki would see Yui's unconscious body hit the wall not too far from her.
Tabby's harpoon hit the massive Deathstalker in one of its legs. The electrical shock caused that leg to collapse, but since it had plenty more to keep it up its body only slanted down towards its left. Making it possible to easily climb the creature if desired (Applying 22 post count to the Deathstalker total: 66/100). The Deathstalker's tail would swipe at Tabby in retaliation (roll a d10 -- if you get 1 or 2 it hits you, causing Tabby to lose 5 post count for rest of cavern event).

Once she found a moment, she settled back onto a knee and returning to the rifle form. Already reloaded, she aimed down the sights and saw the damage done. She took aim at the same spot and fired before reloading and turning around at the commotion. She could see the underside of the tail of the second Death Stalker and fired a second shot there before reloading and switching to her bat. Once more, she began to move, prepared to swat at whatever came for her. She saw two members of their group get thrown around and felt horrible for it, but, she was not very strong herself and she doubted she could have moved either. She'd have to leave them to others to collect. This whole mission was a total mess so far and her throbbing head didn't help. ☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█Team:SLAR█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁

Widget loaded another shot to fire at the Death Stalker. It was looking worse for wear with a chunk of it's carapice missing and, as she hear the commotion behind her, she noted that Skylar had fired on the first Death Stalker and she figured between Sky and Tabby, the wounded Death Stalker was under control. She retargeted the other Death Stalker and aimed at the ground behind one of it's back legs. Their members were too close to fire directly on it, so, she was hoping to throw it off-balance more than anything. Just after, she was swarmed by Ravagers, One went straight for her torso, tearing at the shirt and bodysuit underneath, one went for her legs, and another started raking at her face. She was quick to draw her baton from her belt and started batting at them, hoping to fend them off before they did any damage.

Reacting as quick as he could he brought his scythe to bear in a heavy strike, preventing the death stalker from grabbing the girl or whatever it was going to do. He had no time to ponder that move at the moment, he had to just worry about reacting in time and maybe attacking. He was just glad he made it. However, the heavy strike had left him open. He could see the other pincer going towards him, and he knew he wouldn't have time to muster a defense or move. He braced himself for the hit, already thinking if he bled how to use it and trying to make sure it couldn't grab him at least. Before the attack could land though he heard a peculiar sound, and felt the air of its swipe but not the force of a blow. Looking closer, he could see some arrows falling and that the claw had just been pushed enough off course to hit him. 'I'm grateful.' He thought but dared not speak. Things were way too tense and moving way too fast. He scarcely even had time to think a thanks, as the Grimm was already on the attack again as Chase was recovering and trying to muster his own defense. It had too many angle of attack; stinger, claws, mouth. It would be a very hard fight to do. Out of nowhere, its tail lashed out and struck the human girl...sending her flying. The Lioncourt managed to unleash a few more arrows before she was knocked away by a pincer. "..No!" He tried to yell, but the words got caught in his throat a bit and only came out as a distressed whisper.
'This...does not bode well.' He thought to himself, as he moved back to keep a little space between him and the death stalker. Or try to do so. Odds were already not great with two others with him before...now it was him alone. His peripheral vision could see they were not moving after they impacted the wall. 'Wasted effort...' Part of him thought, but he suppressed it. His eyes would be locked on the death stalker before him, unable to really afford to look at the state of the others. He could hear the sound of guns and other such things, but they were background noise. It had so easily tossed aside the other two, and now he had to try and fend it off. Part of him was saying to save himself...but with the other two unconscious, they would be dead if left alone. Hell, the ravagers may get them. And he couldn't go nearer to them yet, it would be too dangerous as the death stalker may accidentally (or purposefully) lash out at them. Which left only one option as his grip on his scythe tightened. 'Three modes of attacks, three targets to disable.' He thought to himself coldly and analytically. It would be his only chance to actually survive. Winning was not something he was sure he could do...And death was a lot more likely. The stinger was the best target he could get "safely," and the one he would go for first. As it should hopefully have a higher range than the claws, or so he thought. He would need every advantage he could get. Chase would try to stay out of range of its claws, trying to bait an attack with the Grimms stinger. If it attacked with its stinger, he would try to narrowly dodge it before trying to slash the stinger off with his scythe. If there is an opening however, such as it attacking with both pincers and missing or being distracted...he may try to run and jump onto the top of the death stalker. He figured being on top of it would make it a lot harder to hit him...and more vulnerable to his attacks.

『Inƚo ƚhҽ Đαɾƙnҽss – Ȼoɭɭαρsҽ Sƚαɠҽ Onҽ』
◈▣◈▣◈
The deathstalker's faint shadow loomed over Chase. Flickering in the faint light of the fire arrows of old. Its large eyes, void of life, yet so full of malice locked on its prey. It swiped its right claw at Chase, but Sky's support fire from behind smacked the deathstalker right beneath its tail throwing the claw off its directed course just enough to miss Chase [46 Post count applied]. The gust of wind that followed threw up dust like a storm.
These attacks were lethal.
The deathstalker unleashed a powerful, yet eerie, screech that reverberated throughout the cave. Its tail lashed out towards Sky from behind. Attempting to smack her with its stinger as Widget unleashed her support fire. She shot near the ground to try and throw the deathstalker off balance, unfortunately it didn't work. The spatter of fire missed its intended target, or at least didn't seem to have the intended effect [18 (+46) Post count applied]. The beast enraged, took its other claw and uppercut Chase, it charged forward simultaneously and jammed Chase against the cavern wall just above the unconscious Yui [Can't be broken unless helped by someone else with a single total of 50 posts or more]. It gave a blood curtling screech right in Chase's face before opening its jaws wide to attempt to eat him whole.
XXXPerhaps it was fortune smiling down upon them, or simply someone doing what she wasn't willing. The infernal screech of the damned had been silenced by a gunshot that resonated through the cavern. Rather than the scream of Skylar, however, it was the screech of an anguished ravager as Skylar fended off the gnarly fiends. Even though the sonic attack had ceased, Yui's ears continued to ring violently, her mind and soul both horrifically jarred by such a clamor. Unfortunately, Ren had suffered the worst of it, the poor rabbit falling completely limp to such a sound. In fact, she was so jarred that she had to blink twice at the sound of a new voice. It wasn't one she had heard before, words that weren't quite ready to escape whoever's lips. Yui's pale orbs panned back and forth, trying to catch a glimpse of just who was speaking. The closest male figure she could pinpoint though was the mask huntsman himself, Chase. Yui couldn't help but feel a sense of appreciation for the man, and though she wouldn't smile, she'd nod in both acknowledgment and appreciation. "Thank you." She said softly, unsure of any other way she really could show it. She felt confident with him by her side, almost eased. Them, alongside Sakura, would make sure that everyone got out of here alive. Perhaps the only other easeYui could experience in such a moment was when Tabby dragged the limp rabbit away. Though she couldn't help but clutch her rapier tighter in worry, turning on her heel to call back to her. "Please be wary! His head and his boots are the most resilient!" While not intending to make a dense joke, she's seen the rabbit take a few wallops just fine. If his head wasn't as hard as steel, she'd be shocked.
With Ren out for the count, it was going to be up to Sakura and herself to fend off the smaller of the two death stalkers. Twirling her blazing rapier to grab it back handed, she'd draw her bow once more in order to ready another volley of blazing arrows. Sakura would be the brawn in this situation with her makeshift ice mace, so Yui would take this moment to flap her wings and get the higher ground against this arachnid. Things would never go as intended though, not like the day the two fought against the Crow. The moment that Yui left Sakura's side, her poor leader had been disarmed and nearly knocked off her feet. In her daze, the same pincer had gone for the kill. Yui was ready to dive and throw herself between Sakura and the grimm with her rapier in hand, but instead, she got to hold her breath as Chase interveined. She knew having him on this mission was a godsend in one way or another. He had now attempted to save Ren from their own teammate, Skylar, and now Sakura from an uncertain fate. Ready at the draw, Yui would unleash another volley of infernal arrows against the grimm, centered on the same pincher that now attempted to cleave him in two. They could not stop, they could not hesitate. Against this grimm they needed CONSTANT. VIGILANCE. Something that her leader, unfortunately, was lacking in. With all focus on the pincher, the tail lashed out in a flurry and knocked her out cold, leaving her for dead against a wall. "Sakura!" Yui shouted in fear for her leader. Gritting her teeth in frustration, biting her tongue in anger, she'd draw back the bow once more and sacrifice another collection of embers to unleash an onslaught of arrows to take the tail down before any more damage could be done. Her tunnel vision focus, however, left her open to a most obvious attack, the same scorched pincher raising up and swatting her out of the sky like a fly. Yui could only let out a painful gasp, feeling something sharp stab into the back left of her abdomen. It was small, but whatever it was burned. The back of her back slammed against the wall, her head knocking against stone and everything going black.
And there she stood in a broken courtyard. The world around her was black and white, matching the stars and void above. Not a sound could be heard in this world of gray shades. Not a breeze drifting through, not water droplets in the leviathan fountains. Not even her own booted footsteps would click in tune with her steps. It was silence, an eerie encapsulation of a horrid night. Tiles were cracked, statues were shattered. Yui's gaze looked up at the split statue of a fellow lioncout, its right wing and head smashed to a thousand pieces. Followed by her blink, she'd recall the goliath of a man smashing through the famed statue, slamming brilliantly gold gauntlets into the tiles below. An attack that was meant for her brother, meant to end him on the spot. But then she interveined. Pale orbs would gaze to the statue of a Sphinx, riddled with chips and scorchmarks. With another blink, another scene would unfold before her eyes. Sensui was at the mercy of the goliath Crow, but a young Lioncourt had snuck out of bed in worry for a ruckus. She saw a brilliant blue bow form from embers, unleashing a maelstrom of azure arrows against the goliath. He had been riddled head to toe with burning shafts, as the statue next to him had. Yet, he did not flinch, he did not fall, just as the Death Stalker refused to hinder against her pitiful attempts. With the scene ended, Yui's silent steps would follow the shattered tiles, which would shift to scorched earth and a wall riddled with cracks. Taking a deep breath, the scene would unfold before her eyes once more. Herself as a young lioncourt using her wings to close the gap between her and the goliath, drawing a claymore of embers that dragged against the earth, setting it ablaze. As a Lioncourt in training, she was never confident in her skills. Not until that moment, anyways. Not until her brother needed her. Every exercise, every practice, it all came to her like a dance, a salsa. Motions engrained in her very core as she glided along the breeze, evading his first strike and gouging into him with a blazing blade. Yet, as natural as it all came, it wasn't enough. Years and years of training for this moment and it all collapsed. She remembered him bounding backward with a gauntlet of gold, uppercutting her chest to knock the wind out of her. Then with his second gauntlet, swatted her out of the sky and into the wall with such immeasurable force that even her own tiny frame left it riddled with cracks. Her skull cracked against the polished marble, she gasped but no sound would come out. Then her head would hang, blue hues looking at the goliath in fear. He was bounding towards her. Then, her brother took up his silver bow, turning it into a blade and rushed him from behind. Yui tried to shake her head, tried to beg. Don't attack, just run. But the words wouldn't leave her lips. She tried to beg, to plead, to scream, but all she could do was wheeze. It felt like her chest had been crushed before, but that pain wouldn't begin to compare when the goliath turned and grabbed her brother's skull, slamming him into the marble tile.
The scene had ended, but she still sat there against the wall. Her head was heavy, her chest was breathless. She could feel blood trickling down the side of her head, riddled with a sense of despair. Pale orbs now looked up at a winged figure that knealed where her brother had been defeated before. It was a woman with an expression of apathy, disappointment, and disinterest. Doll like eyes glazed and polished, her fingers tracing the boy's shape in the shattered marble. "If only you had been more conpetent, child."'Wake up. They need you. 'Her words were like ice, sending a chill down the weary Lioncourt's spine. A dull but throbbing pain resonated in her skull from the impact, though from real life or the dream, she couldn't be certain. A soft sigh escaped the woman's lips as she stood tall, looking back at Yui over her shoulder. lightskyblue]"Anger. Despiration. Fear. Then and now, you let it cloud your capability. You let it control you, become irrational, then... Here you are. Broken, defeated, and those you wish to protect, dead."'He's risking his life just to save you.' Turning towards her, the woman would step towards Yui in silence. A perfect strut, each step placed in a precise manner. Once standing above Yui, the woman would let out the softest sigh of disappointment before crouching, looking Yui in the eyes. "Time and time again you've proven to me what I've believed all along. You're not ready. How many times must you witness the lesson?"'You need to help him.' The woman's expression would not waver. It was stone cold, blank, emotionless. The only sign of life in her expression was when her lips or eyelids moved. Tugging at her pocket, she'd pull out a gemstone that glowed a soft crystalline blue, acting as a beacon in this world of black and white. The sight of the stone was enough to make Yui's blood run cold, recalling the last time she visited the Lioncourt manner alone and was subjected to conditioning from it. "If you wish to prove me wrong, then prove your worth. Elsewise, you'll forever live with their blood on your hands." Though Yui tried to struggle, tried to pull herself away from the woman, she could not. The woman had reached forward with the stone, pressing it against her chest, aura seeping in as a burning pain erupted from her core. It was different than last time, though. The woman's eyes would widen in disbelief, even if only slightly. The aura of the stone had been forced back, dimmed until the stone fell colorless. Yui felt a second breath of air sucked in her chest, her eyes opening before her body ignited in vivid blue flames. The world around her had vanished, leaving only her and her alone with her surge of aura.
The Pheonix would rise from the ashes.
She could hear the rustling of oversized legs against stone. The earth was rumbling all around her, the stone wall she leaned against would quake and quiver as something was slammed against it. 'You need to..' Then it was a blood-curdling screech that shook her to her core and coaxed her to consciousness. 'Get.' Her entire body was aching, here had was throbbing while blood dripped from her forehead into her left eye. Against the wall behind her was a trickle of blood that was illuminated by a dull glowing red that began glowing brighter and brighter. Her fingers would twitch. 'UP!' The glowing red light would suddenly shift blue, a blinding light bursting from against the wall, her wings igniting in bright azure flames. Her eyes would burst open as blue embers erupted from around her in an explosion. The flurry of embers that erupted was unlike any she had produced before. Hundreds of thousands of blue burning specs. It felt as if her very body was on fire, which, technically it was. In rapid succession, not one, not two, but seven longswords made from blazing embers would form beneath the deathstalker that stood over her, each blade tip pointing upwards towards its underbelly. Two targetted under each joint that a claw was connected to. As each formed, Yui would strike each up into the creature from beneath. Embers would dance around her fingertips as the handle of the final eight blades began to form. It was a sword much larger than any she had produced before but bore a very akin appearance to the same sword an arrogant horse faunus was wielding. Fortunately, being made of flames made the weapon much lighter for Yui, but still retained the same hacking and slashing properties. "Chase, cover yourself!" This very grand and blazing sword would be thrusted straight up beneath the Deathstalkers mouth, aiming to pierce its skull from below. If pierced, the embers from the blade would begin to disperse, igniting into a torrent of flames that would continue upwards to burn straight through its carapace.
