Michael Lyons-Gallo ( dressed as Obi Wan )

This was a bad idea. A horrible idea. Something was going to happen, because something always happened. Michael didn’t trust this city or the people in it. Any gathering was a lure for chaos to try and rip away all that was good, just as it had a few weeks prior when his brothers had been sucked into mirrors and could have very well died.

Michael knew he was probably looked at as paranoid, but after everything, he couldn’t exactly help it.

“Don’t tell me it’s fine until we’re home,” Michael grumbled under his breath, but had agreed to go in the end. He used his free hand to tug at the cloak he wore. He hadn’t worn the costume in years, but it still fit. And with his hair grown out a bit, and his facial hair fuller than just scruff, he was much better at looking the part, although maybe a little more devil-may-care.

Giulia (Rapunzel)

She had insisted on attending this little event. She wanted to know what the city had planned as competition to the party that she had decided to throw, and so far- she was in trouble! They certainly had better door prizes... she would have to come up with something so much better! Her very first time hosting a properly grown-up-ish party- Giulia Montgomery would not be defeated! No one could beat a 7 year old for excellent party games. Or so she had decided.

She clung to her Flynn Rider plushie, peering around the reception, her chaperone's hand on her shoulder. She didn't know a lot of the people here, and clearly that would need to change. Giulia wanted to meet everybody! Make friends with everybody! And then invite them to her party and make it the bestest. She would have all the guests. All of them. And maybe some kitties too, since her birthday party had not quite worked out as planned.

But for now, she would focus on the glories of tonight. Maybe there was another Disney Princess out in this crowd that she could hang out with- or a Flynn! A Flynn would be great. Her doll only did so much.

Genevieve Delacroix

Genevieve wasn't normally the type for plants much less the cities botanical gardens, it just wasn't her sort of place, but her parents were here and thus so was she. She could have skipped out on it, easily, but her parents were here...and she didn't spend enough time with them - so she was now....well sorta.

They had dressed up as a flapper and a mobster, her mother looking nothing short of amazing in her costume, while she had chosen something that most wouldn't think fitting for her - a vampire.

She had decided to do her hair up in ringlets and dress up as Claudia from the Anne Rice vampire books, though she was certainly older and taller than Claudia and her hair was not blond, she fit well enough and with the period clothing and fake fangs she hoped people got the idea. She had even gotten a doll to carry about in order to help with the look.

So far things seemed to be going well, despite the rain outside and now the fog, the maze was still planned to carry on. She really wasn't sure if she was into the idea of wandering about, late night, in a maze. The odds of her getting lost, or anyone really, were fairly high she figured. But it was Halloween and all for fun - right?

After stepping away from a few people, she knew them from previous social and charity events, Genevieve was looking for something to drink and maybe someone else to talk with. There were so many people here!

Ilian Jones ( dressed as Jon Snow )

He’d found a black fur rug at the local thrift store the other week. He was looking for new (used) clothes for himself, but the rug wasn’t too disgusting. And it didn’t look half bad when thrown over his shoulders like a winter cape. The rest of the costume wasn’t too difficult to put together, and he already had the shaggy, curly hair - just not the beard. So he looked maybe like a younger version of the character he was trying to dress as.

“Come here, I want to introduce you to someone,” Ilian said over his shoulder to Lovely as he spotted the man dressed as a demon across the way.

“Seth,” he called when he was close enough, looking up at the taller man. “I hope you’re well. This is Lovely. He was recruited when I was,” Ilian said as a quick explanation as to why he was bothering to make the introduction at all. “Lovely, this is Seth. He’s been my recruit for a while.”

He just happened to leave off the part that Seth was actually a senshi.

Yolanda Hydrus (Dressed as Ser Zephirin)

Tonight was one of those nights Yolie liked. The rain that came down just after arriving smelled nice, the plants were happy and healthy, and somewhere in the crowd, she'd brought her half-sister along to see the plants. ....Well, the less friendly looking plants. Gaelle appreciated both, she did, but Yolie knew what her sister liked, half or not - the girls were close in age, and their mutual father loved both of their mothers... So times like this, with her mother Marilla passed on because of the man she'd been forced to wed by pressure from her great grandfather had been a jealous asswaffle ho didn't like that she'd been in a previously unmentioned polyamorous situation, her father working late, and their youngest sister sick at home with her mother, Yolie liked taking Gaelle places -- and Halloween made it fun. With her sibling off and busy, Yolie walked the reception curiously seeing what she could as she nibbled a few fun sized chocolates. It really was a nice evening, and the costume made it fun -- even if people would call it a boy costume. She was enjoying it -- she'd made it with her Dad out of pickle barrel after all, and the girl stopped to admite some plants happily, and hummed.

"I wonder if they can grow chocolate plants here." She mused. "Or Licorice."

Or maybe the abundance of chocolate had her in chocolatevore mode. She WAS a cocoa addict.

Shikora Mjoli

It had likely been years since Shikora had bothered with Halloween. It wasn't really her thing, necessarily -- there was always too much effort with dressing up and too many people just used it as an excuse to get drunk and make a rowdy mess, which turned her off all of it.

Still, she didn't go out very much, perhaps too deep in her practice, and when she had said as much to her sibling over voice chat, they wasted no time admonishing her.

She got the point.

"I went somewhere, happy now?" asked she into her Snapchat. With a sigh, she added, "Of course, now it's raining..." before pinging it off to her sibling. After tucking her phone back into her clutch, she lifted her eyes back towards the crowd. It didn't seem like the event was particularly rowdy, which was nice, even with everyone currently trapped within the building. It might have been helping that there seemed to be children and couples there. Probably.

Awkwardly, she adjusted her fuzzy cat ears and yanked down on her skirt even though it covered plenty enough, slowly making her way to the snacks table. Now that they had been inside for a little bit, the crowd around the table didn't quite seem as ... Crowded.

Paris Gallo (dressed as Emma Swan)

Once upon a time, before Paris came to the realization that Destiny Shitty (City) was going to hell in a handbasket, she had far fewer reservations about spending an evening out. Back then, parties were an excellent source of entertainment. Costume parties even more so. They allowed her the opportunity to dance, to flirt shamelessly, and to spend her nights getting white girl wasted, all in an attempt to forget the fact that life often sucked a**.

That was then. Now, she wasn’t in the mood to dance, the only person worth flirting with was her husband, and instead of looking for a way to get drunk, she kept peering around the reception hall like she expected evil forces to crash the party at any moment. (It could happen, she would insist. It had before.) The rain seemed like a bad omen. Watching the fog through the windows gave her the creeps.

“Yeah,” she said, somewhat distractedly. “So fun.”

She glanced up at Chris, at his silly eyeliner and his cheerful smile, and she felt guilty for being such a downer. They didn’t often get to come out together anymore. Not like this. Sometimes it was because of their parental responsibilities. Sometimes it was because Chris was too tired to do anything more than cuddle on the couch with a movie on. Sometimes it was because they’d just rather be at home together instead of out in a crowd of people.

Paris tried to shake away her nerves. She should be making the most of this opportunity while she had the chance, not succumbing to cynicism.

“You should keep the scruff for a while,” she said, showing Chris a cheeky little grin as she reached up to give his face a teasing pat. “Get a head start on No Shave November.”



(Feel free to interact, but also there's a good chance I'll get distracted and flake out like the last... idk, several times I've tried to get involved with an event.)

Owen Courcel dressed as Q - though it's probably just a generic star trek costume, he considers it Q.

Owen wasn't sure about this. Oh, not the event itself - going to a garden with the two most important people in his life (besides his Mom) was a great thing, and he was definitely looking forward to it. Being brought there by Daniel's older brother, the one that seemed to make it his mission in life to hurt Daniel and make him unhappy? No, that he wasn't so sure about. And so he'd watched the elder Garcia for the whole drive, light brown eyes boring suspiciously into the older boy's head, and only breathed a sigh of relief once they were able to get ahead of him and able to enjoy the gardens without fear of any direct trouble.

... Which, of course, had been just about when it started to rain.

"Candy, huh?" He teased gently, and poked Daniel in the shoulder. "I thought that wasn't why we were here." Not that he minded, really - candy was great and the way older people seemed to think it was just for little kids was dumb and annoying. He wasn't a kid any more either, not really, and he still liked it!

... Not that he got to have it much, both because it tended to be expensive and because Mama worried about dental bills. But still. The point stood. And the point was candy.

"Think we'll have to fight anybody for the best kinds?"
