Tom Wolf Option 1

Although Tom felt a bit bad for the girl, he was still wondering why they had let her lead a tour group in the first place. However, although he wasn't that good with little kids, he decided that he would at least try to calm her down and through all of her incessant talking he did learn that she liked cake at least. Looking around, he believe the best place to find an already-made on would be the fridge, because it would be weird to find it in the pantry.

Though a few other people had the same idea and when they opened the fridge's doors, there was at least a light on in there so they could tell what they were looking at.

Ildri Lacole - check the fridge

Great and now the girl was going to go hysterical. Ildri wasn’t sure if she wanted to deal with this or not.

She noted earlier the girl had mentioned something about cake so flying on a whim, she walked over to the fridge in search of the desert.

Rhona is going into the fridge.

With her new-found weapon in hand, Rhona leapt into action. Was this how Negaverse Lieutenants felt? In that she felt practically useless. If only there was a way for her to power up… but would that have even made a difference? She needed to get out, not fight. And the girl wailing didn’t make anything any easier. That strange maternal instinct began to kick in and she knew she had to get the girl calm before they would be getting anywhere.

Cake. The kid liked cake.

Maybe if Rhona could get some cake, the child would calm down and talk to them. She knew the way out after all. And cake lived in the fridge, right? It was as good a place as any.

Can you quote me for the next prompt?

Caspian Lyons - bedpan - checking out the pantry

He could hear Peter's voice somewhere in the room with them, though Caspian had no idea where he was. Peter was perfectly capable of taking care of himself, though, and Caspian was more concerned about the fact that they were all stuck in a darkened hospital with a crazy general.

He made a noise of annoyance.

"I doubt it, he's a general," Caspian muttered back, but Michael not knowing who Obsidian was either was a little unnerving. Michael had been around far longer than he had; it wasn't a good thing to know that this general was just some unfamiliar man taking them all hostage.

The girl was still crying. Caspian tugged on Michael's hand, dragging him in the direction of the pantry in an effort to look for something to tide her over with, if only because he knew how terrifying it would be to be a little girl in a place like this.

"Yes, if anyone comes near, I can bean them with a bedpan," he said sardonically. "Here, maybe we can find something for her in here..."

Flo Beaumont - Phone (1d4 damage)

(Option two)

There was a lot going on… people rushing about, the little girl crying. They seemed to be raiding the cupboards, looking for things, and Flo was not entirely sure what they hoped to find.

They wouldn’t be stocking the kitchen till they were ready to open, right? But Amelia had been talking about food, specifically cake. Was that what they were looking for?

Feeling awkward about it, but game to try, Flo wandered back to the walk-in cooler to help look. Maybe there was a party planned after the tour. They’d need big sheets of cake for all the people, right? It would make sense it would be in there.

Her height gave her some advantage in peering over heads as she craned to look.

Orah Gowan - Oxygen Tank (1d12 damage)

(Option three)

It was a little trying that their only guide was a crying little girl in no shape to tell anyone who to get anywhere at the moment. Despite having walked it, Orah was really not sure how to get back to the entrance and she didn’t remember passing any emergency exits… she’d honestly been a little bored and her attention had wandered. This was her punishment, she supposed.

She should have been prepared and paying attention. The Negaverse loved big events to attack. Nothing to be done about that now though and Orah’s jaw clenched as she dragged her oxygen tank to the wall and started opening pantry doors, looking for something to help them out.

Michael Gallo - Option Three

Michael followed Caspian willingly, letting him tug on his hand in the direction of the pantry. He grimaced a little at the thought of the scared little girl, sure that someone would go and comfort her. Hopefully. He would be tempted to do it himself (or try to) if he didn’t have Caspian or his brother to worry about.

Besides, they were all looking for something to make her happy. But really, getting out would be a great start.

“Sure, why not?” Michael muttered in response to Caspian’s comment, not thinking it was a horrible idea if it was the only thing he could do. He tried not to make it too obvious that he was pretty concerned about the situation they were in, but as long as they all stuck together, hopefully things would be fine.

And then if he got his hands on Obsidian later, well… He couldn’t promise he would try to talk with him, first.

Peter Gallo - Option Two

Peter wasn’t oblivious to the fact that Benji already couldn’t see well, so when he asked for help, Peter thought the answer was obvious.

“Yeah, stay close to me,” he said, trying to see where Raleigh went to in the crowd. It was difficult to keep track of everyone in the dark, and he did glance around to try and see where she went to. And his brother and Caspian, but they would be fine, hopefully.

“I’ll be fine, Benji,” he said quietly, but he could understand his concern. He lead Benji towards the cooler as he asked, hoping they could find something to help.

“I don’t like this. I haven’t heard of this guy before,” he grumbled, shuffling stuff around.

RESULTS:

Option One:

The fridge is a sensible place as ever to look for any leftover cake that might exist. You start rummaging through the many shelves of the first fridge you come across. Sure enough, there are various items wrapped in foil and saran wrap. Pulling the dish out that looks to be the closest to cake-like as possible, you pull back the foil and...hesitate as you try to figure out what you're looking at.

It appears to be something baked, but there's something odd about the texture of the dish. You dip your hand in to feel the consistency of the brownish substance, only to notice a second later that there's what appears to be a human finger poking out from the side of the food.

Welp. You quickly toss the dish back into the fridge and close the door.

Option Two:

You decide to investigate the walk in cooler because everyone else seems to be flocking to the fridge or pantry. As luck would have it, you find a large chocolate cake sitting out!

Proud of yourself, you bring your treasure to little Amelia, who excitedly begins to shovel it into her mouth. At least she's not crying anymore, right?

Option Three:

You open the pantry to glance for any dry storage goods. As you open the door, however, you come face to face with a small, black, gremlin-like creature that is busily using its sharp fangs to crunch into several cans of vegetables. You gasp in surprise and the creature stops its chewing to turn and stare at you. Eyes meet and you both stare at each other for a minute.

You blink and quickly close the pantry door. Slightly panicked, you return to the group.

Now that Amelia has found her cake and thoroughly made quick work of it, it's time to leave the kitchen. She points to two doors and a pulley system in the corner. Dumbwaiters still exist, apparently - you didn't know the archaic system was still around anywhere. One door looks to lead towards the Distribution Service area, where employees work on trays for patients while the Cafeteria exit seems pretty self-explanatory.

Which exit do you choose?

Option One
Exit through the Distribution Service Entrance.

Option Two
Exit using the Dumbwaiter.

Option Three
Exit to the Cafeteria

Ildri Lacole - Exit through the Distribution Service Entrance.

Ah. Perfect. That would work.

Ildri reached into the fridge and grabbed what looked to be a piece of cake or something there about. She turned to take it over to the brat child just when she noticed something funny undernearth the saran wrap.

Was that a...finger? A human finger?

Noping out of that immediately Ildri practically chucked the item back into the fridge to hustle herself back over to the group. What kind of hospital kept human parts in the fridge near the cafeteria? That was ******** weird.

Thankfully someone had found cake somewhere and the brat child was appeased as she practically inhaled the cake. Great. Now they could leave here without a temper tantrum. With that crisis averted the girl pointed out ways they could leave.

“Dumbwaiters? This is a new hospital and there’s dumbwaiters?” she remarked with a raised brow. Shaking her head she headed towards the distribution service entrance.

Peter Gallo - Option Two

”Woah, there’s cake in here?” Peter said in surprise when they checked in the cooler. “Way to go, senshi of chocolate!” he cheered quietly, grinning in amusement as he patted Benji’s back and then made sure that the little girl got her cake, but not before swiping a finger full of frosting for himself.

“Okay, well you’re small so you can probably fit in the dumbwaiter,” Peter pointed out, moving over to the doors to peer inside. “What do you think? I might be able to fit in, too…”

It wasn’t too small, but wasn’t too big. He didn’t want Benji to squeeze in and go down by himself, so Peter hoisted himself up into the small box and held out his hand. “Alright, let’s see what magic you’ve got in finding us a way out,” he said with a grin, hoping to keep things light, even in their horrible situation. Crazy General or not, if they didn’t keep their spirits up, they would probably be doomed to be miserable.

“Here, put your foot here, and try to squeeze in,” he suggested, waiting for Benji to take hold of his hand so he could close the door behind them. He was a little cramped, but it wasn’t horrible.

Benji Rhodes [Choosing option Two - Dumbwaiter - Tiny Benji can fit! biggrin ]

When the cake was spotted in the cooler, Benji's heart swelled with pride. How lucky was that?! Maybe it was his chocolate senses tingling, what with being the senshi of chocolate and all. He made sure to get his own bit of cake too, giving his finger a lick clean before adventuring forth, now that little Amelia wasn't upset anymore.

"Hrm?" The Dumbwaiter...? It seemed like a bit of a stretch but if Peter seemed sure, Benji trusted him. Taking his hand, he squeezed in next to the taller boy, feeling close enough that he could simply feel the other's breath on his cheeks... But something was off.

"Oh, wait one sec. You got something on your face." Even in the dim light he could see the mess around Peter's mouth, and yes, while things were not the best situation, when would he even have the chance to do this again. He quickly leaned forward, and gave a little lick to the corner of Peter's mouth, cleaning off the chocolate frosting there in a way that was soooooo unnecessary but so amusing. It was enough to lighten up the whole rather dismal situation, otherwise.

"Okay, all clean..." Content with the little contact and the grin he himself had, he settled himself in, then looked around. s**t, still couldn't see much.

"Alright, let's go."

Rhona is going to the Dumbwaiter despite her better judgement.

Rhona’s knees turned to water as what she was looking at registered in her mind. Oh sweet jesus… Everything in her stomach raised hell and tried to evacuate, causing Rhona to put the plate back in the fridge with perhaps more care if only to avoid jarring the contents of her stomach. She took several deep breaths to settle herself and ignored the gag reflex that was currently knocking at the back of her throat.

Panic and sickness had to wait. Rhona could not afford to lose footing. Not here.

As luck you have it, someone else had found the cake, and Rhona made a mental note to give them a reward later. She redacted that thought, however, as the young lady refused to use her words and instead point in the general direction of several options.

Oh for the love of...

Weighing her options just leaving out the exit seemed too easy. Something had to be waiting, right? The distribution center seemed like it had too many weapons to be flung and the dumbwaiter well… there was no way in <********> Rhona was using that. The fact that it was even there and served no purpose was enough to deter her… what better way to deliver someone to their death.

Then again…

Maybe it was a red herring. The Negaverse was counting on the dumbwaiter to look nefarious enough on its own that people with decide against it… nothing ventured, right?

Tom Wolf Option 3

Going through the fridge, they found something that they think would have worked, and with their phones they were able to look at it with a light at least. But when they poked it around it was hard to tell what it was... until they saw that finger.

Yep, it definitely wasn't cake, and they definitely needed to put it back, and maybe there had been a murder and someone had decided to cook someone up for the others to eat...

They threw it back in and shut the door. However, the cake had been found and Amelia seemed to now be willing to lead them out of here. And while there were three options, Tom decided that the cafeteria would be the best bet. Usually they didn't have stuff that was too deadly in there... he hoped.

Caspian Lyons - bedpan - Distribution Services Center exit ( one )

"This is not how I wanted my day to go," said Caspian, wishing he could see Michael's face better. It wasn't, at least entirely pitch black, but it was still dim enough that making out distinguishing features was difficult. Tucking hte bedpan under his free arm, he reached out, wrapped a hand around the door to the pantry, and tugged it open.

"s**t! s**t!"

He slammed the door shut just as quickly as he had opened it, Caspian leaping back with a hiss of fear. "s**t - did you see that? <********> let's get the hell out of here, I swear - "

Caspian's fingers were so tight around Michael's that his knuckles were white.

"There was something in that ******** cabinet," he said, following after the little girl's gestures, heading towards the Distribution Services Center. "I couldn't tell if it was a youma or not, what the hell, Michael, I don't want to be in here. And really, who the ******** is this Obsidian guy," he added, looking disgruntled at the very thought. "He's just messing with us."

Basil Whybourne - IV pole - investigate cooler > cafeteria ( three )

Basil was not good with people, let along good with children. The sound of her crying was making him flustered.

"Erm," he said, "Uh. Well. Okay."

He made his way towards the walk-in freezer, Basil tugging at the handle and peering in without a second's hesitation. There was nothing in it but -

"Oh, a cake." Basil's voice was relieved. He reached in, plucked the cake up, and brought it over to the girl, setting it down carefully, and pushing it towards Amelia while simultaneously trying to stay a certain amount of distance away from her, because he did not understand children, and he did not understand how children and cake were, and things were also messy.

But it seemed to work well enough. And now she was trying to help them out, Basil padding along in the direction she was gesturing to, clutching the IV pole in his hands as he shuffled across the ground. There were others around him, voices chattering and whispered and concerned, but Basil did not know anyone, and never did. He veered sideways, towards the cafeteria, and peered curiously around, his brows drawing together.

"Maybe through here..." he mumbled to himself.

Flo Beaumont - Phone (1d4 damage)

(Option three)

It looked like she had been right! They found cake in the walk in; large and chocolate and delicious. Flo was tempted herself to sneak some, but refrained with effort. The cake was for Amelia, and they needed her comforted before they could hope to get out of here. She was the only one who might know the way.

Unfortunately, what she ended up pointing to was a pair of doors in the corner that looked to belong to a dumbwaiter. That wasn’t going to be helpful, was it? They didn’t want to go up right? Maybe… but either way, it wasn’t going to be fast with all of them here.

The other options looked to be the cafeteria and another room. Waffling, Flo finally headed for the Cafeteria. It should be big and open… maybe there were windows? It might be a way out, or at least give them a clue of what was going on.

wuthering gee

Orah Gowan - Oxygen Tank (1d12 damage)

(Option one)

The pantry opened and Orah came face to face with something small, black, and with really sharp teeth. She froze as she stared at it and her mind tripped over itself before she slammed the door shut again.

s**t. That was a youma… they had to get everyone out of here as quickly as possible.

The dumbwaiter was not going to happen. There was no way they were getting everyone out that way, not unless it was a last resort.

Groups began breaking off and Orah joined those headed for the distribution center. Maybe there were doors out from there?
