Prompt: Oh boy, your kitten got hurt doing something dangerous and now they need to get to the nurse, but they're afraid to tell anyone the truth about how they got hurt! How do they get to the nurse? Do they tell them the truth about what happened or do they try to come up with a good tall-tale? Furthermore, how do they think Alice will react when she finds out they got hurt?

Margret was visibly upset. She could so be like Alice and Cheshire, outgoing and courageous, ready to do anything at the drop of a hat. She wasn’t a stick in the mud or a party pooper like they may thing. She could do this! She would go on an adventure all by herself and tell them all about it and how they missed out on all the fun.

But that’s how she ended up stuck on the roof. “Some adventure…” She scoffed to herself, almost ready to cry as she tried to figure out how to get down. She thought that some proof would be necessary so that they would really believe her. The tree she had been aiming for had blossoms higher up that hardly ever fell down whole or without already starting to decay, so this would be perfect proof.

Now she was doubting herself as hot tears ran down her face. “This wasn’t even a cool adventure!” She sniffled, clenching the edge and peering down. She honestly wasn’t that high up. They probably would dismiss it, but what would be the point if she didn’t even get a blossom for her efforts? She inhaled sharply and reached out to the closest of the blossoms and…

She slipped. She wasn’t exactly the most agile of sorts, but she grabbed onto to a branch. There was a cracking sound and before she knew it, she was once more acquainted with the ground. For a small second after she opened her eyes, Margret was ecstatic. She had gotten the blossom, but a split second later, she felt the pain. Her knees were scrapped and starting to bleed. She began to tear up instantly. She should have never done this. She shouldn’t have been climbing. Now she had to go to the nurse and she might get scolded.

The bakeneko made her way to the nurse worried that she was going to get some sort of infection. Maybe she was going to die because of it. He mind spun with outlandish worries as she met the nurse and waited for her to flock to her.

“What happened?” the nurse looked her over as she silently looked away.

“It huuuurts!” She managed to sniffle out as she waited for the nurse to figure out what was wrong. But she hadn’t answered the question. What would she say? She surely couldn’t tell the truth.

When the nurse asked again, grabbing bandages from a drawer she tried to lie as best she could. “I fell…” She paused. That couldn’t be the only thing she said, there had to be more. “I fell out of bed. I was having a really bad dream and landed weird and scrapped my knees.” Pretty believable if it hadn’t been that her clothes were dirty and she was still clutching that flower.

The nurse looked her over with a disbelieving eye but decided that this was all minor. “Just be careful.” She finished up the bandages and let Margret leave. The bakeneko knew she hadn’t really fooled the nurse, but she was nice enough to let her slide and that was all that mattered. “I bet they’ll think I’m super cool now.” She smiled to herself, looking down at the flower that she had now realized was all but destroyed. Her golden eyes teared up a bit. She’d still show them anyway.
