He discarded the idea, partly because if people started hoarding food they'd all be in deep s**t soon enough, and partly because the bars would probably melt from body heat.

A little more searching yielded an unopened bottle of water, which had her grinning from ear to ear as she snagged it before going around the place a little more. "Got water!" she called out, holding up her precious before slipping it into the bag and going about the search again. From what she heard it seemed like this would be a pretty good haul...

"The hell." Micah held up the bikini and frowned at it. It was small, yellow, and polka-dotted, and immediately his idiot brain started helpfully singing the song. He stuffed it into his bag anyway, because the strings might be useful even if the tiny amount of fabric wasn't. And maybe also because if he had to suffer the earworm, someone else should too.

Okay, maybe not the greatest haul, but it was better than nothing? Mel made a face as she picked up the tin of sardines (in a puddle of water, no less) she came upon next, wondering if it'd be a good idea to let it mingle in the bag with the Aero bars and bottle of water...but she tossed it in anyway. Food was food...and there was a shot it was still good, right?
It was dented and in a puddle, sure, but...it was canned. So...maybe? Worth a shot.

There seemed to be only so much her bag could carry, it seemed, and from the looks of the next item it would be the last of it. From getting such an item, she then in turn found herself a rather large one, almost too much for the older woman to carry. But after managing four cats in her arms this might not have been so terribly hard to take back.
Yup. Juliette found a stick. "Do you suppose we could use this for something? Might be a mighty fine thing to hit some of those poor souls taken by the virus with." Yeah, sometimes her mind went there.

The red head picked the lock of another apartment room and entered in to look. As he searched, the mow-hawked survivor happened to trip over something warm. He sat up from the floor to look at what he had fallen upon, to see a pair of eyes staring at him, a raccoon. He stood quickly, worried that it was infected, but it didn't seem to be. The raccoon chattered at him and he looked to the others.
"So, what do you think of this guy, new mascot?" he asked as he scooped up the somewhat exotic pet, checking the collar on the little guy's neck, "He's got no tags, anyone got name suggestions? Though, as I found him, maybe I should be the one to give him a name, don't you think?" he asked as he looked at the pet bandit. "How about Umbrella?"
The raccoon had a second little water bottle in his paws, so Durza took it from him and placed it in his bag with the other.

"Oh goodness, isn't that precious." Oh how she smiled at the raccoon that the dear boy had found. It seemed to have a collar as well, perhaps tamed by someone? It seemed very approachable as it was.
Umbrella might not have been the first name that popped into her head, but she didn't find a reason to object to it. "Would be fitting, no? Or we could embellish, Lord Umbrella of Clearview." So no, she wasn't objecting on taking it back.

"Are those things even edible?" Grant asks, looping the bag's handles on the hooked end of his umbrella as he gives the animal a skeptical look. "I mean, at this rate, we may have no choice, but I don't think we should be naming that thing."
This kid isn't serious about keeping it as a pet, is he? What if it has rabies or worse?

She sided up with Grant and Micah as far keeping the racoon was concerned, but it warmed hear heart to see something so cute amidst the bleakness of the city. "It's cute and all," she said, smiling apologetically up at Durza. "But I'm with them. It's hard enough feeding us, having extra mouths would kinda suck. Your call though, I'm not gonna stop you."

"If I take him with me on my scavenging missions, he might find himself something to munch while we look for rations, that sound reasonable?" he asked as he set the Raccoon down at his feet. 'Lord Raccoon' circled around Durza's feet as if he knew what was going on. He just suspected these people would give him food.

Grant shrugs. "It's your rations, kid, but if it ever comes up to me I'm callin' it Dinner."
He pauses to give Durza a long, eerie stare before closing his eyes with a cheerful smile. "But I think we'll be fine if we just keep replenishing the supplies, there's more for us if we know where to look and little Umbrella Dinner here will eat like a king..."
There's something only the tiniest bit unsettling about the blithe delivery of that line, but there's probably no time to dwell on the implications of the old man's words. He's still looking sunny as usual.
"So, we done here and ready to head back to base?"
