Seeing other people almost run into the dragon, Sayael was relieved she wouldn't have to fight this thing on her own and loosened the clamp on her teeth a little.
The dragon chose that moment to take flight, surprising the faerie into letting go entirely, dropping to the ground in a rather haphazard fashion.
"You jackin' thing," She hissed under her breath as it began to breathe an icy breath. Saya froze where she was, realizing that she was behind the dragon and thus wasn't part of the path where it was trying to freeze.
She only hoped the others would avoid the icy blast, as well.

She could not very well standby when the student who looked as thought she had branches (too!) looked as though she could be in danger. Hollandaise dodged nimble out of the way of it's icy breath and kicked it viciously in the side. She could feel the urge to fight rising in her, that sort of strange hyper-focus she felt when fighting in the gym. Hollandaise had been getting better at fighting so... maybe...

Xavier was still resisting the urge to run away screaming - especially since the dragon had taken to the skies now, and that one ghoul was hanging off it - at least for a few seconds. She dropped down a minute later, and Xavier danced from one foot to the other, claws clicking together.
"T-this is t-terribbleeee," he moaned, and, well, he did have wings, so he supposed he could fly up there and attack, but that would have taken way too much effort and besides, what if the thing tried to kill him and eat him while he was up there?!
Best just to let the three ghouls (how had he somehow become the only boil in this motley little crew?!) handle things, right? The one with the poofy blue hair certainly looked - and sounded - like she knew what she was doing, the other ghoul had the terrifying teeth, and the last - well, Xavier knew what kind of ghoul she was.
He felt rather useless, but he picked up a rock and threw it anyway, hoping to catch the dragon off guard.

Seriously? No-one wanted to protect her beautiful self? Wow.
Granted, it was hard to defend themselves when the thing was switching tactics on them. She definitely didn't envy the ghoul who got stuck on its tail, for one. Well, maybe a little. Details like this were kind of cool to add to a story, you know.
"Stop whining!" she chastised the demon as she tried to dodge the breath and fire at the same time. Her accuracy suffered greatly for it, and she cursed. "Winners don't whine! What is this thing anyway?"

The dragon was just out of reach, making it impossible for Sayael to attack - she had to stand next to it and hope it landed soon so that she could land a blow, if at all possible.
"It's a dragon, and it's inconceivable!" The sugar faerie yelled, all of her attention on the dragon.
It didn't seem like they were doing enough damage, and she was partly to blame for that. It made her angry, mostly at herself. Usually she was good at things like this.

"I'm n-not whining!" Xavier protested weakly, which was a big fat lie, because he indeed was whining an awful lot, mostly because he just didn't want to deal with this giant dragon thing. "T-this thing is h-huge, I'm j-just w-worried we won't b-be able t-to - "
He broke off as the dragon swooped again, icy cold emanating outwards, and Xavier threw another rock, trying to keep it from hitting any of them.

Inconceivable was not a word she'd use to describe said dragon. Ugly, probably. Not so great color choices, definitely. Awfully aggressive for being a whimsical travelling dummy, for sure. But unfortunately quite conceivable nonetheless.
Rolling her eyes as the bird boil continued to whimper (and wait a second, was he familiar or was that just the rain trying to drown her eyes out??), Piper dodge rolled out of the line of icy breath as the dragon glided by and remained in a crouch. Propping her large weapon against both her shoulder and the ground, she was afforded the much needed support and the chance to actually aim. This time she managed not one but two large volleys at their opponent, this time with fireballs.
"O-M-J, like, keep your cool, featherbrain," she hollered over the sound of thunder as she picked herself up and beat a hasty retreat as it came for a second shot at her. "You're working with a pro, okay? This thing's totally going down if you just follow my lead." And, hey, he was already chucking rocks at it, so good job!

"We will be fine, Xavier!" she yelled, also hefting a formidable rock at the dragon. "We would only dissipate anyway; it's not so bad." Hollandaise was, surprisingly, trying to sound encouraging.

Sayael attempted to hit it, but only ended up completely missing.
She was getting tired, but her fighting spirit hadn't been quenched completely yet.

"Ain't nobody dissipating on my watch!" Piper stated as she swung around. Who knew what would happen to them if they did, with all this crazy miasma stuff going around? The world would get deprived of her stage presence and beauty if she turned into one of those weird cloak-wearing creeple. Worse, it would ruin her streak."Watch and learn, fresh meat!"
Taking a solid stance, she waited until the dragon's head was turned before firing not just a rock or a fireball but a fiery rockball. For maximum epicness, of course.

The dragon flinched as rocks were thrown at it. Then came the fiery rockball; the dragon caught it fully across its face. Its head was snapped back by the force of the projectile.
It seemed to still as the tiny gears clinked and whirled in its mind. Slowly, the scales on it clinked as it raised its head to stare down at the rock-throwers. A low, deep rumble akin to thunder grew in its chest, building pressure as the sky above grew darker. The rain increased and fell harder. Small pieces of hail could be seen and felt with the rain.
The dragon unleashed a roar loud enough to force its opponents back. This was a roar that could shake the heavens. A black wind surrounded Kushala Daora, shrieking as it whipped past its steel scales. Its blue eyes took on a harsh glow as it roared again: you've made it angry.
Kushala Daora lunged forward, trying to trample the students!

Surviving Kushala Daora's Enraged Mode:
Kushala Daora is ANGRY. As such, not only does Kushala deal additional damage but the amount of Miasma dished out has increased as well. Please see the main event info thread for more information on Miasma and its effects.
- In order to attack Kushala, the modifier is now -9. Instead of 2d6-6, it is now 2d6-9.
- While Kushala's HP has fallen below the flee threshold, it has instead enraged. You have still earned the base RP tickets, however you have a chance to earn more. If you, y'know, survive.
- If someone hits Apex, Kushala will NOT flee. Yes, this means if you go Apex you can use 2d12-6 to attack.
- If there are 5 or more players in the thread, Kushala will flee. Kushala can only be fought with 4 or less players. Yes he will still book it.
- Fears CAN now be used. Must be something with the storm...
- You can always abandon the quest and [ Exit ] if you do not want to fight enraged Kushala. You may or may not get bonus loot.
- Loot will not always be dependent on whether you can defeat/repel Kushala. Said loot may be rewarded for outstanding attempts, RP posts, or for good sportsmanship.
Oh crap. That was supposed to be a finisher, not a make the beast even madder-er. The rumble in the creature's chest grew as their surroundings darkened, and for the first time since storming the scene, Piper felt a stab of fear.
And then she was completely tossed back. For a moment she considered using it as an excuse to run away. But...But the loot. The story. The dragon beating. Piper was too proud to run away now that she had yelled all those things, and if she wanted to be a popular singer, she had to start building a good look for herself: and that started with supporting what little rapport was there with these creeple.
Picking herself off the ground, she shielded her face with an arm and yelled as loud as she could over the thunder, "Okay, game faces gotta be on now! Unless one've you guys want this, I'll be heading our little party on this second lap! But I need defense, dang it!"

She watched in mute horror as the dragon went effectively batshit insane. That was a strange phrase, she thought - batshit - as though a bat's fecal offerings were something to be feared, something so utterly destructive. No one ever said dragon s**t insane, and yet Hollandaise imagined, due to their size, a dragon's bowel movements would be terrifying. She snapped back to the present and now of angry dragon as Piper spoke. Logically speaking, it was the best plan. And, even though Hollandaise desperately wants to grow thorns and fling herself at the beast, Piper's plan seemed the most effective way to stay alive.
"Very well," she called out, moving into position next to Piper as thought she had done this before. (She hadn't, not really, but there had been a dream of knights and fighting and a dragon was a knight's fight in more ways than one.)

Nodding gratefully at Ms. Tree Thing, Piper locked her cannon in place and tried to concentrate her Fear. One of her newest tricks had been to transform her elemental blasts into a gatling gun of sorts, though it required quite a bit of attention. Something that was not afforded her so easily this time.
The dragon assaulted both ghouls before she even got a lock down, and with a cry Piper was knocked over as it swept over them. "Jack damn it!" she cursed after it. "RUDE MUCH."
