He stopped for a moment to catch his breath. The shadows didn't need a rest though, and Elliot had only a moment's respite before he had to fight again. Fighting set his body on fire, made his pulse thud. (He wasn't sure he wanted it any other way. This is what it felt like to be alive, right?)

He was bleeding. A cut on his forehead was bleeding into his eye. Elliot blinked twice, trying to stop the flow so he could see. It was to no avail. A shadow got too close to his flank and he lashed out with his leg. He needed to pull back for a moment. There was no need to flail around like a blind fish.

Danirate Levinski did not know exactly what lead to him being here in this moment fighting. All he really knew for sure about his life for certain without taking into account the presence or absence of all his memories was that he was a warrior well on his way to becoming a true knight and soon he was absolutely sure about this. He in all bluntness that he afforded with little thought beyond a passing idea, has found himself believing that sacrificing his memories was not at all so bad in any sense that he could imagine at present. And who knows, perhaps it would matter little whether or not he ever got his memories back. But this was not on his mind right now.
Right now, Danirate Levinski was reveling in the thrill of battle. After shaking of his initial shock and confused state that had overwhelmed him so as to deter his functioning in carrying out his desire to excel in the battle field, the knight in training was now getting back up to speed with what he had to do and that was to grow in strength as he was meant to according to his goal to be a great and formidable force against any opponent. This was his rightful path. After all, greatness is of course what he is. The fighter slashed at the shadows furiously, as quickly as he could manage to swing his blade at this point in time. They might have managed to catch him off guard initially, but from the get go of his journey to rise in might, he was sure to reach for and attain triumph. These confrontations will not best him, and he would do better, far, far better in dealing with these foes, Danirate believed. He would serve them the taste of a full meal of the defeat they deserve. And no, Danirate was not getting carried away with his zealous thoughts in the midst of these battles he had entered the fray of only a short while so far. Though it is just the beginning, he is completely serious, he guaranteed in his mind, completely serious about winning with each stroke of attack dealt against each and every one of his enemies.

Johan didn't think much about the choice offered to him. When he heard that one of the Great Knights planned to take the fight to the shadows, he followed. The Courtyard was a confusing shambles of shattered dummies, and leaping shadows. Katana drawn, Johan ran through the chaos, and, spotting what he thought was one of the creatures, slashed at it. It ended up being a training dummy. Cursing his luck, Johan felt teeth biting at his legs. He kicked the shadow away, but not before the monster broke the skin. He could still fight!

After taking the time to survey the battlefield, Johan was far more effective in his second attack. His katana moved like an extension of his arm, slicing into the shadows and driving them back. Their sheer numbers ensured they were able to land scratches on him in return, but Johan was still well in the fight.

They were everywhere already. Shun supposed that he shouldn't be surprised. Without a second thought, he drew his blade, gripping the hilt with both hands, and dove right into the fray, running past Johan in the process. He raised the sword quickly before bringing it down to cleave through one of the many shadows that plagued the area.
After striking, he looked back and offered Johan a curt nod of acknowledgement.

I AM USING ***MELEE** AND THE CURRENT DAMAGE DONE IS 99
The walk to the courtyard was mildly terrifying. If only Wilson had possessed the actual guts and determination to shove his way past the swell of apprentices to follow one of the other Great Knights. He had skill with the bow, yes, but fighting on the front lines was not exactly his forte. At least it was easy to contain the fear and his rapidly beating heart, but not much could be done for the nervous looks he kept flicking back and forth.
Something pushed him from behind. Perhaps it was a bump or some apprentice stumbling into him. Maybe it was a shadowling, but it was enough for the white knight to rush forward and draw the string of his bow to finally fire off a shot.

Another shadow was coming up from behind. Shun felt its claws, or whatever that was, rake against his backside. With a sharp hiss, he turned and arced a horizontal strike across its exposed midsection. It seemed like that had been a deep wound, but there really was not much of a way for him to tell, unfortunately.
He just tried not to think about it too hard, as he focused on vanquishing whatever he could. His blade may not be sacred, but it was a weapon all the same.

It had been an impressive volley of shots. In his haste and panic, Wilson managed to fire multiple arrows that managed to hit their targets. Granted, he hadn’t been focused on a specific set of monsters in particular; as long as he managed to hit something that he was supposed to attack then all was fine.
Someone seemed to be calling out, and it took him a second to realize they were trying to flag down him. He hastily tugged his cloak away from a monster clinging to its edges (perhaps he should invest in not wearing a billowing cloak) and ran over to the red knight. “O-Okay!” He stood back-to-back with the stranger. Arms up, he drew his bow.
