The corridors are already spilling with shadows, and you plow through several of them before you finally arrive at the courtyard. The training dummies had been entirely destroyed, the walls coagulated with shadows.
You briefly see the Great Knight Morgan shout something that gets lost immediately in the screeches and roars of the shadowlings around him and then you too are overwhelmed. All directions, inky half-formed claws, and wings, and talons. Something pushes you over, while another attempts to devour your whole.
You need room to fight. You need to find an opening. A weakness perhaps. Before you can fight, you need to level the battlefield.

KNIGHT BONUSES
- Before we get started, here are some knight bonuses. This apply to all knights in this thread of this colour who FOLLOWED Morgan.
gaia_star[ Red Knights ]: Add +1 to all your attacks that hit
gaia_star[ Blue Knights ] Take -1 away from the auto-damage you take.
gaia_star[ Green Knights You can take a turn off attacking to roll 1d6. That is how much you heal YOURSELF ONLY. You can only use this once per battle.
gaia_star[ White Knights ] You can reroll one of your dice. You can only use this once per battle.
gaia_star[ Gold Knights ] When you use the Ballista, HALF your auto-damage
gaia_star[ Violet Knights ] When you use a Team Attack, the first time you use it by quoting someone and completing their team attack, it is always successful. So even if they roll odd, and you roll even, you can still add up the dice to do damage!
gaia_star[ Black Knights ] You cannot use Team Attacks or Ballista shots at all this entire battle. However, you automatically start off with +5/20 damage needed.
THE OFFENSIVE
- The offensive comes in two stages. A GM will come and post the second stage, when it is applicable. For stage one, your character must clear out as many "trash" mobs as possible with as much help as possible from the setting. Here are some items you can use. Also pay attention to knight bonuses:
- Your goal is to do as much damage as possible to the cumulative shadow mobs around you. Every time you do damage post it THE CUMULATIVE DAMAGE DONE IN BOLD RED AT THE TOP OF YOUR POST. So, for example, if you use the ballistas and do 10 damage, look at the TOP OF THE POST for the person who posted prior. Add your 10 damage to that number. Update the top of your post with that number THEN press submit. Then you are free to rp out your post
- In order for you to qualify for a sacred card, you need to do 20 damage with your character in this thread, by any means you wish possible. Your posts need to be rped out, even if they are bief. When you have done 20 damage and rped at least 400 words in this thread, go ahead and grab this image and stick it in your journal for safekeeping. Link to this thread to prove you have completed this part. You can obviously, continue attacking if you wish, you might just unlock more IC bonuses!
- While you are attacking, monsters do indeed do auto damage so please watch your HP. If your HP is low, you can duck into the healing thread and as a healer to heal you. If they heal you, you can come back here and continue. A reminder that all knight-apprentices should have 30 HP, and their melee attack is 1d4.
- Please post IN THE OOC WHAT ATTACK YOU ARE USING /ballista/ team/ melee
gaia_star[ Ballista ] Because of your hard work, the ballistas have been fully loaded! You can use them now. To use a ballista, roll 1d10. These are EXTREMELY tricky to use, as they are heavy, difficult to aim, and look like giant 10-foot crossbows, causing heavy backlash. Take damage equal to the dice you rolled. This covers auto-damage.
Example: I roll 1d10, I get 6. I take 6 damage to myself.
gaia_star[ Melee ] You can melee attack a mob by rolling your usual 1d4. You take -2 auto damage per attack you make!
gaia_star[ Team Attack! ] You need to find someone who also has TEAM ATTACK set up. Quote them. Roll 1d6. If your roll is even, and their roll is even, you do a TEAM ATTACK. Both of you do damage equal to the sum of your rolls. If your roll is even and their roll is odd, or the other way around, you MISS and take -5 damage (only you, not the other team member who posted first).
If you want to set up your own team attack, roll 1d6 and put in your OOC TEAM ATTACK. If you get quoted for a team attack, please edit your ooc to TEAM ATTACK - USED.
You cannot team attack with someone who has already been quoted for a team attack so be careful when coordinating this one!
Example: I see someone with TEAM ATTACK in their ooc. They rolled 1d6 and got a 3. I rolled 1d6 and get a 2. That is even-odd which is bad. That means I missed, and I take the -5 damage. That team attack is used up, so I should edit my ooc (and the other person) to say - used
Example 2: I see someone with TEAM ATTACK in their ooc. They rolled 1d6 and got a 3. I rolled 1d6 and got a 6. That is odd-odd which is good (Even-even is good too). That means I now add my 6 to their 3. We do 9 damage! Hooray! You might as well give it some impressive team attack flying combo name! That team attack is used up, so I should edit my ooc (and the other person) to say - used
ADDITIONAL BONUS CONTENT: THE ARENA
- Your knight, on top of doing these, can also attack stray mobs that wander around! These can be found in the arena which you can learn by using the arena guide.
- If your character is in the arena fighting, it ICly is considered that they are still here, just fighting other mobs. Therefore you can technically do "both" at the same time. HP from the arena is separate from HP in this battle, therefore, if you have 1/40 HP here, you can still start fresh with 40/40 HP in the arena.

Haze looks about, analyzing his surroundings in which he was going to fight. Things weren't looking to bright for them but it would have to do. His palms gripped tightly against the spear in his hand, holding it up as he only heard wisps of Morgan's words. It was probably for the best that he didn't have distractions as shadowlings started to surround him. Silver eyes widened as the weight of one of the creatures crashed down onto him, feeling a sharp sting emit through his body before instinctively holding up his spear to block any more oncoming attacks. This was certainly going to be a fun battle. Biting hard down on his lip, Haze pushed his body weight forward. Turning his hands to pull the spear to his side and impale the monster that had tried to take his life. Cutting ribbons into it and giving the young apprentice-knight leeway to stand back up. Constantly swiveling his head and staying on his toes as he prepared for his next attack.

With dark brown hair and two days of stubble, Kostya is a rugged, attractive knight. Although he's not the tallest among the knights-- measuring in at only 5'7"-- his body is honed from the training he did in and around his native villages, sleek and whipcord strong. He prefers to work at range, utilizing a large crossbow as his weapon of choice.
In personality, Kostya leans towards the stoic, although a cruel streak in him leads to humor at other people's expenses. He traditionally carries around a small flagon of alcohol, acquired through whatever means necessary. He lacks true compassion, and cannot process empathy in any significant amount, leading him to take advantage of lesser folk-- by manipulation or force-- to get what he wants.

Bradley cursed under his breath, jaw clenched. It was his duty to deal with these creatures, but he couldn't help feel a tad jiped in the glory department. Clearly he was just going to have to prove himself. Clearly.

Trying to get to the courtyard difficult due to the shadowlings blocking their way, but someone Poke managed to break through and reach it. Once there, she was greeted with the sight of many shadowlings, and within a matter of seconds she was being swarmed by them.
It was both terrifying and thrilling at the same time, but at least now she had a little room to maneuver. She unsheathed her sword from the scabbard placed on her back, holding the weapon towards the squirming mass. Then she was pulling it over her head, and with a might swing downwards cut through the mass of writhing black.
Though it parted, it was quick to reform, the many claws and teeth scratching and biting through her clothing.

Grunting with the effort, she pulled the blade back and swung it in a horizontal arc, clearing a small circle around herself. There were a few others on the field around him. Elliot saw a badly wounded knight with brown hair retreat. He lunged forward in front of her. It would be a waste if she lived for long just to fall here. His sword carved a wide arc and cut off any pursuers.
