Just as he started getting into the book again it happened. A trainer approached him not wanting to interrupt him however Simon smiled and shook his concerns away. Letting the trainer know that he had arrived in Fortree to train his Pokemon and a battle would be great. Sending out Seedot Simon explained that he was switch training the little guy until he evolved as Seedot didn't know any attacking moves. Understanding the trainer, Pedro, wanted to use five Pokemon and Simon agreed. Pedro's first Pokemon was Lombre the water version of Seedot as Lotad was also weaker until evolved. With Seedot at his side Venipede came out ready to battle.

The next Pokemon Pedro sent out was Lombre's evolved form, "Ludicolo the carefree Pokemon. Ludicolo begins dancing as soon as it hears cheerful, festive music. This Pokemon is said to appear when it hears the singing of children on hiking outings." It was interesting as like Simon wanted to do with Seedot it seemed that if he caught Lotad and evolved it to Lombre it would indeed be smart to evolve them sooner than later. Nodding Simon once again switched out Seedot for Venipede, unless the kid had more grass and water Pokemon this would be the last easy round as the attacks would be normal and not super effective like these moves. After this battle he would need to change tactics but that would be fine.

The next water Pokemon confused him as the field wasn't covered in water however "Carvanha the savage Pokemon. If anything invades Carvanha's territory, it will swarm and tear at the intruder with its pointed fangs. On its own, however, this Pokemon turns suddenly timid" just floated there swimming in the air. Pedro shrugged seeing Simon's confusion as well stating he didn't understand either but just went with it. Using defense curl to boost up the move rollout Simon watched as Carvanha started to mess with Venipede's stats. After rolling into a ball and charging over and over Venipede won.

Once again Simon switched out Seedot for Venipede in order to switch for some experience. If only Seedot knew a grass type move it would be much better as the Wailmer came out. The good sized ball of a water Pokemon bounced in place as Simon wondered how the evolved form battled anything. Seedot wouldn't stand a chance just getting crushed by a Pokemon the size of an ocean liner. Until then it was time to battle however the first attack trapped Venipede in a vortex of water. Rolling and whipping his tail Venipede managed to both hurt and poison Wailmer but still took damage from the trap move. As Wailmer charged, rolling at Venipede, he took the hit but knocked the whale back with his tail in order to finally earn a defeat and a win.

Having done such a great job so far Simon understood that Venipede would need a break soon so once again sending Seedot out instead of using his tired bug Simon sent out Aron even though the last Pokemon was still water type. It was a risky move but they still would go for it. Of course the first hit was a water gun, super effective but Aron stood strong and ready to go. Only the one water gun knocked him around as Aron bit the choice band making it nice and snug as he used his strongest attack. With the boosted power even with the decrease in attack and defense Aron's single hit sent Panpour tumbling and then knocked out. Pedro stomped his foot but understood returning his Pokemon and sighed telling Simon his team was great.

((Hey Dixon, it's Simon the Ghost trainer you met in Distortion World. It seems I was thrown out and just wanted to make sure you got out safely as well. Hope to meet you some time during our travels. - Simon Davis))
Landing on the ground just outside of Fortree with a thud Simon groaned and rubbed his lower back. It seemed that Giratina had discovered how all the trainers slipped into his realm and ejected them without letting them have a word in edgewise. Standing up he felt actually quite calm not that he wasn't afraid of dying anymore. Instead he would continue to read his dad's books but not seek out Ghost mythos, instead he'd just love his Pokemon for what they were, his friends and family.
Having an idea he took out his Pokenav sending out a message to Dixon and Warren asking if they were okay and if they made it out of Distortion World okay. Warren's message came back stating that the young man didn't have a Pokenav himself so he couldn't communicate with him at the moment. Shaking his head he sent out a wish into the sky hoping that he was indeed okay. Looking around he noticed a familiar pot on the ground nearby. Going over he picked it up, happy to see that it was another Mysterious Incense, even if it wasn't one he needed like the ground one he had received the last three times he'd use it to train his friends up. With that as a reminder he sent out Whirlipede to scan him since they couldn't while in Distortion World. "Whirlipede the curlipede Pokemon. Protected by a hard shell, it spins its body like a wheel and crashes furiously into its enemies." "Congratulations Whirlipede." Simon said as Whirlipede's eyes closed happily.

Going through the steps of opening the incense jar and lighting the wick inside he set it down and waited for the smoke to go into the air. Since the Pokemon that had come to the smoke in the past had been level ten Seedot would be best however he still had no physical attacks. Looking through his TMs he wondered if there was something he could teach Seedot to have as an attack, he didn't even know tackle. Okay Seedot could learn Rock Smash so he removed the HM disc and put it in allowing it to spin up while sending out Seedot. Smiling at his friend who could finally be an attacker instead of just watching from the side he returned him for a moment because at level nine the wild Pokemon drawn in would have an advantage so once he got to ten then he'd start battling again. The first Pokemon attracted to the smoke was a wild Sawk, one Simon had trained against a lot in the past but never caught, today would be different as he sent out Aron to take care of things.

Of course whenever Simon came across one of these fighting Pokemon another one always appeared and that was the case here as well. The next Pokemon that appeared, drawn by the smoke was Throh. The shorter of the two fighting Pokemon Simon was glad to now go ahead and catch both at one time so that until he could train them both up at the same time they would at least be together. Since Aron was already out Simon pointed out for him to use superpower against the squat fighting Pokemon. Charging up Aron dashed forward and smashed into Throh knocking him out and allowing Simon to go in for the catch. The ball rocked once, twice, three time before dinging and Simon nodded happily at the catch.

As far as starting fighting Pokemon went the only other Pokemon Simon needed would be Tyrogue. Since he already had a Hitmonchan he would need two more for a Hitmonlee and Hitmontop to add to his fighting ranks. Because of this he could catch two more for later training but it also meant that for now on Seedot could train since he leveled to the same level of the Pokemon who were attracted to the smoke. Returning Aron Simon thanked him through the Pokeball before sending out Seedot to get some battling in. Just as he wanted the next Pokemon to arrive was a Tyrogue so it was time to see how the little seed would handle a real battle. It wasn't a quick battle as it might have been with Aron but with the new HM move learned Seedot moved with a new intensity now that he was really able to fight back smashing into the fighting Pokemon.

Tucking the Tyrogue away that was going to be Hitmonlee, and Hitmonchan will be pretty happy to have two Tyrogue to teach when they both arrived. The first battle had gone well as Seedot took no damage, this second one though didn't seem like it was just going to let Seedot get experience. Deciding that this one would be Hitmontop with how much energy it seemed to have Simon told Seedot to use his newest move over again over and soon the fighting Pokemon went down. Throwing the Pokeball Simon watched as it shook once, twice then rang out that it was caught. Scooping the ball up he held it as it was whooshed away PC, so now any other fighting Pokemon that appeared would just be for training. That was good on its own but now Simon needed something else to do. It might sound silly but without seeking out Giratina to ask about Ghost Pokemon he was kind of just here now. Simon decided to think about the moment instead of the future. Having just caught two Pokemon that would need items to evolve he decided to see where to find said items.

Healing Seedot up Simon returned him for now sending out Aron instead because he knew the small, steel Pokemon could handle the mysterious incense's smoke easily right now. At least while his attention was split from the training at hand. According to the Pokenav the best place to find the items needed to evolve Tyrogue up could be found in the nearby city Lilycove. In fact all the reports of finding the items were in cities and towns where gyms were not. That was fine with him so when Aron beat the next Tyrogue he returned him, sent out Noivern and they took off to Lilycove.

Jay quirked an eyebrow when Sebastian gave his input on the only possible situation where commenting on someone's aroma might actually be okay. "S'pose that's true," he remarked thoughtfully. He paused, considering it a moment, then smiled a bit playfully. "Yew do much datin' back 'fore ya started travelin', Sebs?" he asked, in a clearly, 'Are you speaking from experience?' kind of way. He had to admit, that was probably the best situation where that was acceptable. Wording could probably help at times too, but... Heh, it probably just wasn't the best compliment to try and pay to someone.
Mimey seemed a bit thoughtful, tapping her mouth as she looked up. "Do you think you can, though, Rummy...?" he mused, "I mean, only certain poffins may help you with your beauty appeal... it's possible they may all kinda taste the same, since they'd be trying to enhance the same thing..." Her ponderings were cut short as Sebastian decided to return Rummy, and she looked expectantly up at Jay. "Why don' you go 'head'n take uh rest too, Mahmy," Jay urged, popping her pokeball off his belt to recall her as well. She gave a nod, before disappearing into her pokeball. "Yew too, Zoey," he decided, the zubat giving a weary little squeak before she, too, was recalled.
In their place he sent out Scy, placing a hand on the mega scizor's shoulder, and letting him lead the way. "'N yeah," he added to Sebastian's question, "Brave back there's mah mom's Braviary." He rolled his shoulders, stretching his head from side to side a bit. "He's uh bit've uh dodo, but he tries ta help out 'n take care've things." He tilted his head some as they walked. "Yew grow up with uh lotta pok'mon, Sebs?"

Sebastian blinked a little in surprise, giving Jay a bit of a curious look before finally chuckling a bit. He picked up on the undertone of the question, a slight smile crossing his face as he thought about it. "Hm… well I did do a bit, though I don’t think anyone ever mentioned me smelling nice… maybe once?" He tilted his head a bit, thoughtful frown replacing his smile. "Of course that was kind of a weird situation so… it might’ve actually been creepy." He shrugged, smirking a little as he eyed Jay out the corner of his eyes. "What? You’ve never tried using that as a pick up line?" He joked back. It was pretty darn apparent that Jay probably had not done it, given the discussion of creep factor. But still… it was a funny thought. And hey, at least he had an excuse. Right?
Sebastian eyed the mega-Scizor as it appeared, giving a little nod and focusing forward as they headed for Fortree. He adjusted the strap of his bag once more in thought. "I see. Well that’s pretty cool." Sebastian glanced at Jay once more, smirking a little. "That must be nice to have pokemon around to help you with things. Does your family have others too?" At the question of if he grew up with a lot of pokemon himself, frown forming as he gave a ‘hm’ noise.
"No… not really. At least… not in the way a person would probably prefer to grow up with them in, at least." There was really no straight forward way of saying that the most experience he’d had with pokemon were uhm… in less than active forms. "I had my pokemon from my first journey I suppose, but I didn’t keep them long. I suppose the longest pokemon we’ve ever had in my family would be Spade. And that’s only been for the past couple of years or so." It seemed a bit weird now that he thought about it. Most people had a couple of pokemon in their lives, right? It seemed a bit odd not to have them; though not for a lack of trying on his part. The nature of his family’s work and business just… didn’t seem to mesh well with the idea.

Jay quirked an eyebrow as he listened. "A... weird situation?" he repeated, "When datin'? 'N it might've been creepy? Sebs ah think yer gonna have ta 'splain that one a li'l more." Because it sounded funny as hell, though Jay wasn't going to say that just in case it actually wasn't. But that combination of absolute vagueness was bound to just stir up more intrigue. Especially when Sebastian had been the one who mentioned dating as possible 'safe grounds' for the compliment in the first place. "'N no, no ah have not," he added with just as much amusement, smiling as they walked. He was pretty sure him being blind unnerved people, or at least made them nervous, enough as it was. He didn't need to go around commenting on their smell to add to it. Funny as the idea was.
He nodded a little. "Mm, ah perty much grew up with pok'mon," he answered, "Mom herded tauros 'n Miltank, sometimes Mareep, helped breed 'n train racin' ponyta and Rapidash. Trained some dodrio 'for, to, but only once. Dad's uh vet so..." He shrugged. "Always sorta been s'rounded by pok'mon, one way'r 'nother." Not to mention the pokemon that helped out, like Brave. Scy, Jesse, Zoey... he'd actually grown up with a lot of pokemon even outside of the ones he listed, now that he thought about it.
Furrowing his brow, he wasn't quite sure what to make of Sebastian's response. "Whaddaya mean? Were they... mostly through yer family's business?" he asked, frowning at the thought. Did that mean he'd been surrounded by... dead pokemon? Well that was certainly morbid... He nodded some, then raised his eyebrows a bit. "So you went on uh journey before? What happened ta yer pok'mon from that?" he questioned. Did he let them loose? Did he give them away? He supposed he could understand, if his family needed him or something, but that still seemed odd. Starters were supposed to be a pokemon you bonded with. Though... honestly he wasn't even sure who his starter technically was. Tod, officially, and now that he thought about it, he felt a bit bad keeping the otter in his pokeball so much. Maybe he ought to let him out more...

Sebastian still seemed lost in his thoughts as he mentioned the situation, snapping back to attention as Jay inquired further. He gave a little smirk, a low chuckle following suite. "It’s a long story. Let’s just say that there are quite a few interesting characters around Lavender Town. It’s hard not to run into a few who in hindsight… are probably a bit creepy." He remarked. It didn’t really seem appropriate to go recounting his dating experiences just to highlight the creep factors. That was just a bit rude after all. Instead he smirked, nudging Jay a bit. "Oh yeah? Shame really, I’m sure you could pull it off if you tried." He joked. Sebastian was just poking fun; it was an amusing thought to consider.
"Wow, that’s pretty impressive." Sebastian remarked as Jay mentioned all the pokemon his mother dealt with. "And your dad’s a vet too? That’s pretty useful for all that handling." He tilted his head in thought. "It sounds like a lot of fun really." It sounded like lively work. Noting Jay’s frown, Sebastian shifted a little. "…Yes. Mostly." He finally replied honestly, a sort of soft smile crossing his face. There was really no way to make it sound nice to be honest, but it was the truth.
"It was what it was." At the question about his first team his smile grew. "Ah, well some I let go, back into the wild. A few I traded to passing trainers to take care of. I had a couple who probably wouldn’t have handled being cooped up in that environment very well. My starter was especially frisky. It was just a better choice to make sure they got to go out and actually see the world and all." He wondered how those pokemon were doing; where they league winners? Contests champions maybe? Living happily in loving homes? Sebastian hoped so; he’d done his best to try and send them with good people.
As they went along, Sebastian noticed something a bit odd. He stepped away from the path to take a look; it was a crate with a sign above it requesting item donations from trainers for good karma. He considered a moment, peaking in and noticing a couple of items already in the box. Thinking a moment, he decided to add a bit to the box. He had a bunch of things after all; if someone else could put them to use so be it. Digging around in his bag, he added the lucky eggs he’d bought as well as an EXP share he was holding on too. There was already one in the box, but it looked kind of worn so maybe it would be good to hand over a fixed one. Once he’d done that, he returned back to Jay to keep walking. "Sorry about that. " He focused in, noticing the city rapidly approaching. Staring, a confused look suddenly crossed his face. "I didn’t know the city was up in the trees." He absently remarked at the sight. What was this, tree houses or something?
