Torcha's Decision |Solo RP
The Mara had all vanished. Torcha was annoyed at this. Now I can't find out what they are!!!! Why did the Chief and Granny stop me from going out and examining them? I would have avoided the living ones and only looked at the killed ones...so unfair... Torcha wandered away from the camp, heading to the coast as she always did when she wanted to think. She stood in the surf and enjoyed the push and pull of the tide as the water swirled around her knees. She emptied her mind and just enjoyed the feel, sight, and smell of the ocean and the dying evening. After a while she sighed and raised her face to the dying rays of the sinking sun, it was time to make a decision about what she was going to do now.
Why can't they let me try instead of always saying no. Maybe I need to prove that I am old enough? How am I to do that when they won't let me try anything exciting? She considered this problem, ignoring the fact that she wasn't as restricted as she thought she was. Children do not always admit that the adults knew better, and Torcha was still a child in many ways. Torcha thought back to when her oldest sister was finally allowed out with her parents on a smuggling run.
What did she do to prove she wasn't a child and ready for more responsibilities.... hmm.... all she really did was take care of all the younger kids. Is that it? She proved she was responsible by looking after others? Could be, and probably is, but it certainly isn't for me. I can't stand my younger siblings sometimes. So how else can I do this....perhaps... I can tame something? I could catch, tame and train a creature.. that would show that I'm not a helpless child anymore. Maybe they'll see it as proof that I'm not a child anymore....But what should creature should I try.. A soft call caused her to raise her head. Far above a flock of Alkara flew by, flying inland for the night. She sighed, she'd get scolded again if she was out late so soon after her failed attempt at sneaking out.
Maybe I should ask Granny if she has any book about the local wildlife. I shall focus on learning about the creatures and add that knowledge to my collection as well She smiled, maybe this was a blessing in disguise. Now she would have a chance to learn more. Maybe the adults would even see this as a good thing....Well, now lets go see if I can get their approval...and books. Then, after I have memorized the contents, I shall set off to catch and tame those that I can. I don't necessarily have to mention how i am going to now do I... Her smile grew wilder and she skipped back to Granny's place, eager to start on this new project.
