youngling- so can't use for growth. Still gonna post it.
Staring at the cage she wondered what the creature was. It was currently staring back at her as she had been looking at it since this morning. Its large body and horns gleamed in the light. It was still in the cage so she knew she was perfectly safe and that it couldn’t eat her. Still it was pretty scary. The man who was traveling with the beasts took notice of the little ice youngling and asked where her parents where. She made a gesture somewhere behind her. “Papa said it was ok to stay as long as I didn’t try to pet anything.” Which was true enough, she was allowed to stay and watch the beast after a bit of begging. She was also told not to get to close to the cages either, or pester the man who was trying to sell the beasts. The man laughed at that saying he wished more parents gave their kids such advice. “What is it?” She pointed at the creature in the cage and it growled making her take two steps back quickly. The man assured her that it was safe as the Rakatu was young and strong but fairly well trained so far. Just a bit more and it would be a good mount for a rider. A wind tribesman came over just then and distracted the beast keeper so that left Asrahs alone with the Rakatu again.
After watching for a good long while she finally got bored when the beast fell asleep heading home for the night she wondered if maybe tomorrow would be more exciting in Mez. A few others had bought pets so of course that meant there would be more pets around Mez to play with. Smiling she fell asleep in the tent that night dreaming of riding on a Rakatu and papa Viveka making a sculpture of her while papa Natsu played a song about her daring adventures!
The next day she went back to the man selling creatures and repeated the ritual from before. As usual nothing to interesting happened all day. Just as she was getting ready to leave a wind earthling came up to the cage and looked over the rakatu. He started to speak with the beast trader and the pair came to an agreement after a few moments of haggling. Asrahs watched as the wind earthling took the rakatu away. She felt like crying. Still she knew better since then papa Natsu would ask her what was wrong and of course Viveka would be worried. She couldn’t do that to them. Not when they had given so much to her and never really asked anything in return. Biting down on her upper lip she stayed put like a good girl watching the remaining critters and not daring to cry. Of course both of her adoptive parents knew something was wrong right away but they didn’t press to hard. She thought it was because she was good at making it seem like nothing. It was in truth more likely that they saw she didn’t want to talk about it and looked close to tears trying to deny it so they let it go with the offer to talk any time.
The next day she considered heading back but what was the point when what in her mind was her Rakatu wasn’t even there. She wandered from the stand forgetting that was where papa said he was going to come and pick her up from again. Wandering around Mez she found a few old drawings on some stones she didn’t know who made them but they seemed to be pretty good. She also found some big strange tracks she wasn’t familiar with. All in all the day was uneventful and rather boring. She wished the Rakatu was still there to watch. It wasn’t though, one day she was going to find another cute one to look at.
