It truly was a glorious day for such a well deserving celebration. The sky was painted a brilliantly saturated blue, cushioned here and there with the lackadaisical drifting of fully, puffy clouds that stretched and bunched. A cool breeze would manage to dive into the twists and hard turns of the civilization below, providing a pleasant caress against those it danced by. The streets were filled with throngs of people in the civilization all coming together for the festive occasion, the sound of excited voices traveling all through the air, creating a pleasant hum. Shiganshina was the talk of the town with all the hustle and bustle!

There were flyers strewn along various walls on multiple buildings in great amounts pointing out all the festivities that would be open to citizens to partake in. Leaflets were passed out, and word of mouth traveled quickly to gather forth the inhabitants to join in the fun. For one of the more early events, there was talk of a glorious, luxurious, banquet, provided by the whole town and their hard work of toiling the land, and raising impressive livestock. A free for all feast! The harvest was quite bountiful this time around, and there was enough meat for at least everyone to have a serving!

As stated on the pieces of decorative paper, the feast would be held in town square, where there would be plenty of room for all the tables to be placed neatly into straight rows. Upon arriving, such an enticing scene would be at anyone's disposal. The rich oak, rectangular tables were clean and placed with sturdy chairs right along the sides and ends. But what would catch ones eye most of all were the lined up tables off to the side, that were dressed in white linens, and packed with foods galore! Every food group was offered, ranging from different flavors, to textures, the aroma's wafting so heavenly in the air that there were quite a few lingering guests, just hoping to sneak a piece!

However... they would earn a swift swatting to the hand with a rolled up paper, from a very stern faced woman. Manning her station was a rather short middle aged woman, with a bushel burgundy of curls pinned messily atop of her head. Though... many fly-aways would graze along the sides of her face, framing it, in which she would irritably brush at them to try and tuck behind small, turned out ears. Hazel green eyes snapped back and forth, her heels clicking along the cobblestone in a hurried fashion, and staccato tone, causing unrest to just about anyone who heard them approach. Dressed neatly, to a pin, the coordinator waited impatiently for her guests to arrive. Once they did, there was a great huff from her, as she swiftly made her way to each one, pulling and tugging them to their specified tables.

"Come, come, come! you're late! We can't have you lollygagging around while there's another group to feed, too!" Without any choice, everyone is pushed to a table, in mixed up groupings, regardless if they came with a friend or not!

Prompt 1

Your character has signed up to join in the feast's first shift. Or... perhaps your character was mistakenly pulled into it. Either way, they're here! And they are put at tables without a say in the matter. For your first prompt, write your characters reaction to the mounds of food laid out for them, as well as interact with those at their table! Feel free to have them get their plates filled up, and feel free to let them pick out what ever kind of food they want!

Guidelines:
- Do not interact with those at other tables, for the time being. Keep focused with who you've been grouped with.
- Make sure to quote who ever you are engaging with, so they know to respond.
- Feel free to RP with others at your table, even once you've completed your prompt.
- At the top of your posts, please put "[ Character name | Table # ]".
- Any questions should be PM'd to me, please!

You have until May 13th at 11:59PM EDT to respond to this prompt

[Alec Scott | Table 4]

Alec was admit-ably not fond of being shuffled around and ushered to a table like cattle. Yes they were busy, and they were all apparently late or something but it was still a bit unsettling. Alec wasn't one to question orders, so he instead dived in. While he saw a few vaguely familiar faces having spent part of the days previous at the festival he didn't flag anyone down. They all had assigned seating it took the fear out of being left out. Secretly he was glad they'd placed them in prearranged seating.

It took the stress out of the situation.

The promise of food? Now that was something Alec could get behind and didn't have to argue, nor worry too much about. Unless it was terrible of course. Which in this instance was clearly not an issue. It wasn't like he went without that often, it just happened to be a good motivational tool. Especially when he'd forgotten to eat that morning. He had been too excited by the prospect of another day at the festival he'd bolted off early. All the noise and flyers around the different parts of town had his imagination running.

Quick to grab a plate, the teen was truly pleased with the wide variety and selection. Who could blame him? His eyes lit up as he grabbed for a helping of mashed potatoes, a roll or two, cheese and several helpings of meat selecting from both the ham and turkey. Usually meals at home weren't quiet this lavish, while his mother did try her best of course. He was half certain his eyes might have been bigger than his stomach but the gravy smelt divine. Once he had his seating assignment, told wear to sit to be precise the male sat down looking up across the small table. Theirs was perhaps the smallest, which was just fine with him. He carefully removed his gloves pushing them into his pants pocket, getting himself settled. All the neatly lined up tables were rather orderly and clean. Arranged just as they should be something he approved of. Once he was comfortable, he spoke first wanting to break the ice.

"Hello too you both.." He offered hesitantly in greeting, a small smile as he set his plate on the table pulling up his chair to sit with his fellow table mates.

Sitting with a pair small group of complete strangers for any length of time seemed tiresome otherwise.

"I'm Alec. Nice too meet you." He muttered nibbling at his food shortly there after.

Both of them were female; he was the only male at this table. It didn't really bother him per-say, it was more a matter of taking in surroundings. Instead of worrying too much beyond his initial greeting he moved onto his into his meal, picking at the roll first so he could stuff it with several ingredients eating at his leisure. He had manners at least, and had tried to make small talk.

Wait had some one else joined their table? The newest person looked like a male, and was late the the party. He waved at him as well in greeting.

[Shun Kuroda - Table 3]

While he couldn't really read the fliers, there weren't any shortage of people talking about the banquet, and thus, Shun managed to find his way to the right area just fine. He wasn't sure what to expect of it, other than that there would be free food, considering he had never been to a banquet of any sort before. As he approached, he noticed the many tables set up for the crowds. It wasn't long before he was ushered along to sit at one of them. He didn't really care to be pushed around like that, but he dealt with it.

Never before had he seen so much food in one place. There were all sorts here; many which he didn't even really know what they were. For a moment, he wondered if he had been knocked unconscious earlier and was currently dreaming. It seemed surreal to see all of this right now. Though, he had mixed feelings about this. It was amazing that there'd be so much to eat here, more than he would have ever imagined prior. But at the same time, there was a bit of bitterness to his thoughts. The city could afford to give away all this food for free right now, and yet the slums were as shitty as ever. What would even happen to any food that's left over from this?

It almost soured his appetite.

He managed to keep a fairly neutral expression about him as always while this all went through his head. Letting out a breath, he shook his head before reaching for a plate. From there, he paused, not even really knowing where to start. While tempting as it was to pile everything onto his plate, he knew he couldn't eat that much. Shun reached over and took some sort of fish, along with various vegetables, as well as something he couldn't quite identify. This should do for now.

As for the others that were seated there with him, he didn't really pay them any heed for now. He would rather eat in peace, if possible. Given his track record at the festival so far, he didn't have high hopes for that, however.

[[Adalwolfa Westhofen || Table 1]]

Oh bountiful lords above...!

Adalwolfa's ash eyes drew wide at the myriad of foodstuffs littering the table she was paraded to sit at. Like most souls within the throng, she had joined the banquet for a chance at a healthy meal, but never did she think it would be this much food. She felt the tips of her fingers throb with a desire to nab a bit of everything and fill her pockets to the brim. Since falling from riches to rags, the girl hardly ate healthily; most of the money she made on the farm went to paying for rent in the room she (and once, her parents) called home. Surviving on a single loaf of buttered bread and a glass of milk was enough to get her by. At least she had it better than most in the slums.

But, right now, it wasn't a time to be ruminating over the past or her current circumstances. It was now time to eat! Adawolfa was probably one of the first on the line from her table. With a giddy trundle in her step, she scooped up a plate. When it came her turn, Adalwolfa cared not for what she was served.

"One of everything!" she said jubilantly. Even if the food was something foreign or smelled spoiled, she wanted to try it. Today, I'm not going to go hungry!

After collecting herself a good pile from the servers, the seventeen year old ambled herself over to table one and plopped down in whatever seat was open; even if it had already been claimed beforehand, she cared not. With a fork and knife in hand, the girl quickly got to work on the feast. Of course, because she was once a girl from the inner walls, that meant she had to practice proper etiquette at the dinner table. She didn't let too much chunks of potato fall to the floor (she caught a few) or chew with an open mouth (though the sloshing sounds persisted). As of right now, the desire to eat was stronger than her desire to return to the Utopia district; if just only for today.

Realizing that there were probably people around her now, Adalwolfa extended her greetings. "Hi," she voiced, smearing a blot of grease from the side of her cheek with the back of her hand. "Name's Adalwolfa."

[ Cecilia Allegri | Table 2 ]

Having been brought up in a modest little home where her family just barely managed to make ends meet, Cecilia had never in her fifteen years seen as much food as she did right at this moment. Feeling her mouth water as the wind carried enticing aromas to her nose, the girl felt her stomach let out an expectant growl. She hadn't even realized that she was hungry in the first place, but seeing this all laid out in front of her now was just too much.

...She couldn't...possibly pack some stuff up and sneak it back home for her family, could she? It was certainly a tempting thought. Although her brothers were probably out here somewhere and were likely taking part in the banquet, the knowledge that her parents weren't able to join due to working the whole day did not sit well with her. Honestly, it just made her feel a little...guilty, really.

As she filled her plate, the girl made a note to ask if she could potentially bring anything away. Rolls and some fruit would probably be the easiest to transport, and for good measure, she put a couple of these on her plate.

She filled her plate with a generous amount of foods before trotting over to her assigned table. Sinking into her chair, the girl curiously scanned the unfamiliar faces that were present before lifting a hand and waving enthusiastically.

"Hi!" She chirped, ever the picture of cheer, "I'm Cecilia! What are your names?"

[ Saxen Reiter | Table No. 2 ]

He was a far way from home. It was unusual for he and members of his village to cross into the lands outside of Wall Rose, but to venture all the way out to Shiganshina? This was strange indeed. One of the other members of his village knew some people out here and claimed he wished to barter with them – some bone trinkets, salted and dried meats, and skins – and Saxen agreed to tag along at the ushering of his mother. She thought it would be good for him to leave the village and see the areas beyond Wall Rose and the Trost District, which was the farthest he had ever been south. He had never truly left Wall Rose, and his mother decided it was about time that he had. So, by her wishes and his own curiosity, he rode out here with a few other hunters. Apparently they had made a good decision. Times were rough in Dauper: he and the other hunters had noticed that game had become more of a rarity, and it was becoming difficult to last through the winters with enough food. While he and his mother were managing to scrape by, it was only due to the fact that they were only responsible for feeding themselves. The families with more mouths to feed were not faring as well, and people had come to his home in hope of some generosity more than once. Due to the fact that he was the more practical of the two, he was reluctant to share their winter reserves; his mother, on the other hand, was more than happy to help a hungrier family even if it meant she and her son would have a harder time managing. Even though he knew agriculture was a more productive, reliable food source than hunting, he still found himself in sheer disbelief at the amount of food before him.

He relaxed into his chair, holding his face up with one hand as pale green eyes remained fixed on the mound, the only sign of motion being that of the forefinger of his other hand as it idly tapped the wooden armrest. He would wait until the line had cleared before he would gather his share, assuming the amount of people gathered around the food decreased overtime. For now, he continued his observation, amazed at how primal people became when instincts overwhelmed intellect as he took note of a larger man elbow a smaller one out of the way while his fingers stretched like the talons of some ravenous raptor snatched the closest bread roll. The smaller man cast a glare up at the inconsiderate oaf, though continued piling food onto his plate, deeming the former preoccupation unimportant compared to the task at hand. He turned his attention to the doors as more people entered, their gazes immediately drawn to the bounty, almost visibly salivating. A light chuckle escaped him as he watched the frenzy. Perhaps the throng would not disperse as he had hoped.

Patience was a virtue, however, and, as a hunter, he knew this well. So, for now, he decided to continue to bide his time, reminding himself to take note of any roughage or grain he could spare for his horse, Alhsom. The young stallion must be tired from the journey, and Saxen imagined he was very grateful for the rest. However, the horse needed to be fed, and Saxen had not left him on an open pasture. He bit his lip with thought. While he thought about feeding Alhsom, it crossed his mind that he should snatch some of the leftovers to take home. The village could use any spare food they could scour. He had a few modest sacks he could fill; there was no way the banquet could run out of food, after all.

"Hi!"

He blinked as the noise pierced his ears, snapping his focus back to the table to which he had been assigned. His eyes quickly found the source of the voice, a young teen with pale green hair waving her hand over her head as if he could not tell to whom the voice belonged without such a display. He smirked behind the hand still supporting his head, waiting a few moments to see if the others would answer. They did not. He dropped his hand, resting it on his other forearm, pale green eyes holding her brown ones with a steady gaze. "Cecilia," he began, testing the syllables as they rolled off his tongue. "Nice meeting ya. I'm Saxen." There, he had fulfilled the bare minimum of him required in this social interaction. Such an unfamiliar setting never failed to make him more wary than usual, and he was very conscious of his surroundings and those within it.

((Preacher || Table 1 ))
OOC note: Preacher is currently dressed as a boy since in her slum, boys have a bit of an easier time than girls. Just a note since I'm still writing her as a girl; but it'd still be cool if no one saw through her disguise <333

A hard hand pinched at Preacher's upper arm and she winced. She had known that there was to be a banquet, but Preacher could've sworn she signed up for a later sit-down. Going early made a thief slow and unable to take advantage of those self-same early eaters. The sleepy time right after lunch was prime pickings for the lifting lay. And it looked like her partner for shakedowns hadn't showed. The lifting lay was really the best bet for her during the festival. For anyone from the gang, this was not a time for merry-making, but for taking advantage. And, although she hated her life of theiving, it was, for lack of a better phrase, a living. Girls like her were born in the slums, lived in the slums, and died there. While she was alive, Preacher'd be damned if she wouldn't take advantage of every bit that came her way. Frustrated, she swatted at the woman. The co-ordinator merely tightened her grip; she was impreccably dressed and clearly used to getting her way. The struggles of one underfed girl were nothing to such a woman and soon, Preacher found herself dragged to her assigned table.

She slumped briefly into the seat, straightened, and quickly checked all her pockets. Empty, empty, empty, lockpicks. The vest was old, tattered, and far too long for the girl, but it served a dual purpose of helping to obscure her femaleness as well as being excellent for the transport of purloined goods. Her vest, her outfit today was the same as everyday. And, in the Eastern Alleyway, nobody really owned more than a few outfits. Preacher owned only
the one or rather, the gang did. Tinker had made it abundantly clear that he owned their everything. Not that Preacher's everything was worth much. Her clothing, like her life, was a cobbled together outfit of castoffs and pieces liberated from clotheslines. Aside from the vest, Preacher wore a odd pair of gathered pants, a shirt made of wrapped rags, and her hat. Ruffian.

Finally, she stood and sauntered over to the table and at least three of those pockets mysteriously filled with rolls and bits of cheese. It was important, Preacher knew, to choose foods which would not spoil in the early heat. She also filled her plate carefully, and, finally, made her way back to her table. Although Preacher's mouth watered violently and her stomach grumbled louder than a titan's, she still ate slowly. Each mouthful was carefully chewed and swallowed indivudally. After so long on a malnourished diet, she knew that eating quickly would only make her ill. Her eyes flickered to her tablemates. The table was set for six, and it felt strangely crowed. Directly acrossthe table from Preacher, a girl wolfed down food with an odd mixture of manners and ravenous hunger. Not a good mark. Obviously someone who was here to take advantage of free food. Well, there was no harm in being friendly, Preacher thought guiltily. It wasn't like Tinker was watching. She swallowed and wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, flashing the girl a cheeky smile.

"Name's Preacher. Ey... you should slow down a bit, you ken? You'll get sick." Preacher tucked an apple from her plate underneath her shirt.

[[Axel Halle || Table 1 ]]

Leaving his sister to tend their booth for a while, Axel made it to the feast in time to be seated at the very first table. He was anxious about leaving his sister to fend for herself—she was a perfectly capable young woman, but still about eight in his mind—but he was delighted when he saw the heaps of food. His family wasn't nearly as poor as some of the people here, but they never had quite enough to go around. He waited patiently while his plate was filled, but he took his cue from some of the more ragged feastgoers and asked for some of everything.

He took a seat at the first table, between a girl with an overloaded plate and a rather raggedy young man. In his early 20s, Axel was probably one of the older people at the table, but he thought the girl to his left (now dabbing grease off her face) was probably close to his age. He returned her greeting with a polite nod, giving his own name. "I'm Axel."

He nodded at Preacher as well, and then gave the boy a slightly disapproving look. He felt pity for those who lived in the slums, but you couldn't grow up in Shiganshina without learning to spot a thief and Axel was pretty sure he was sitting next to one. One with suspiciously lumpy pockets. That disapproving look deepened into a frown and Axel turned back to his food before he was tempted to grouch at the boy. He knew what it was like to be hungry, but there were a lot of hungry people waiting to be fed. If everyone started stuffing their pockets with food, would there be any left?
