A Little Miracle

Junjie was resting in his tent, back with the group that he had been staying with. His eyes were closed but he wasn't asleep, instead he was just resting his eyes for a moment. He hadn't slept a lot since the little one had been born, not because she kept him away but because he just found himself checking on her even five minutes. There seemed to be so little that he knew about babies, especially special babies like her, and as such he couldn't help but to want to check on her constantly.

"It's alright, Junjie, she still sleeps." Came Abellio's voice, the feathery Alihora leaned over to get a peek at the baby before turning back to Jun, nuzzling him between the horns. He knew that the last couple days had taken it out of Junjie, both physically and mentally, and he meant to do all that he could to ease the pressure he was feeling. Arjan felt the same way, even now he was outside prowling around the perimeter of the camp, keep an eye out for dangers. It was something that amused Abellio, no matter how against the idea of a child Arjan had been before now that one was present he was doing his best to help out, even with things such as playing the part of a guardian.

'It's because I don't want to get yanked on again!' Came Arjan's complaining voice to Junjie, not wanting for them to think for a moment that he was falling under the little girl's spell in the same manner that everyone else had!

Opening his eyes up Junjie glanced over at the little makeshift bed the girl was sleeping in, one that was made out of a basket normally used for carrying various goods when the camp was moved from one oasis to another, the group often seeming as though they were looking for the best hunting grounds. One of them had been kind enough to help him to make a bed out of the basket, a man that had been there the day that the little one had been born, one of the same men that had been forced to drag Junjie away from the caravan. It had been a rough time, finding someone in need of his help, someone he had been unable to save, try as he might. He'd expended all of his magical energy trying to save the Oblivionite woman but the damage had been too severe and they hadn't arrived quickly enough. The fact that her baby had been born alive was a testament of the woman's will as a mother, she wanted her child to live.

"It's not your fault, Junjie. It was the fault of those strange creatures that attacked her!" Abellio said in a hushed tone, not wanting to wake the baby but wanting to scold Junjie nevertheless. The fact that he blamed himself was something that bothered Abellio greatly. He had done all he could! The woman had held on to save her child even despite her grave wounds, it showed how strong she was if you asked Abellio.

Sitting up Junjie stretched out all over, then turned to look toward the basket that the baby was sleeping in, "I just wish things had turned out differently was all." There was so much that he had wanted to ask the woman after all. The baby, she was different, she was special, she wasn't a pure Oblivionite. Instead she was much like himself, she was a mix of heritage, in fact her eyes held light in them much like that of others he'd met in the past that had mixed blood. Tilawen, Tyrok, even Lilith to a degree had those eyes, beautiful eyes that made him smile a little just at the thought of them. She really was a sweet little girl and he was glad that he had been able to save her, the quest becoming though with her mother gone what of her father? Was he still alive? Was he out there somewhere waiting for his Oblivionite bride to arrive? Or had been one of the others slain by those strange lizardmen? He hadn't seen an Orderite among the dead so he couldn't really say.

"I will need to try to find him." He murmured, certain that the man would want to know what had happened to his lover, as well as know that his child still lived. For the time being though it wasn't safe to travel too far, especially given that one of the woman was kind enough to be a wet nurse for the little one. They needed to stick close by for the time being, until the little one was ready for more solid foods at least, and then he would see about going to Serenia, perhaps? Though how difficult would it be for him to get to his mother with a baby that looked as she did? She was obviously of Oblivionite blood so she might very well not be welcome. Perhaps they would head to Ayr then? The Dovaa Sage would likely still be there and if anyone could help them it would be him. Or should he go to Aisko where Rio and Lilith lived? His options were more then one might expect, it was just a shame they were so spread out.

Abellio, nudged Junjie in the shoulder then, drawing him out of his thoughts, "The baby is starting to squirm." He said before turning attention back to the girl who was just waking up. Leaning in close he gave her a smile, "Hello there little whelp! You awa...ack!" The Alihora gave a little squeak when the girl's tiny hands caught hold of and tugged at some of his feathers. He didn't move though, not wanting to cause her any harm, and instead just let her yank on him until Junjie came over to free him from her surprisingly tight hold, "Phew, quite the grip."

Junjie chuckled and nodded, "Quite." He murmured before carefully scooping the girl up, leaning in to give her a kiss on the forehead, "Let's see if you need a change then we will see about bringing you for your afternoon meal." She shared food alongside the wet nurse's own child, one of a different race then the girl he was caring for, and it made him feel good to see it. Perhaps she would have a good friend in the boy he thought to himself.

After a he was done changing her into something clean and dry he turned to look over at Abellio and said, "We should think of a good name for her. I have been putting it off in hopes that her father might arrive but since we aren't quite sure where in the world he might be... well, it might be best for us to come up with something." Pushing to his feet he scooped up his cloak, wrapping it around himself and the baby, "We will do that after you eat though, little one, I don't want to keep you from a full belly." Giving a smile he left the tent, Abellio following close behind, and headed for another tent that was nearby while the baby happily yanked on a lock of his hair.

A Strange Discovery

Shayla, the Dovaa wet nurse that was helping out Junjie with the baby, was currently on her way to where Junjie was standing, chatting with the others in their small group. In one arm was the Junjie's little one who was happily tugging on her hair, in the other arm was her own son who was napping at the moment. The woman walked over to stand near to the group, waiting quietly, until they finally turned her way.

"Ahh, is she done eating already?" Junjie asked as he took the baby from Shayla, carefully aiding the woman in getting free from the little girl's grabby hands, then wrapped his cloak around the little girl to fend off some of the sun's light, "Are you nice and full, my little one? That's good, I hope you didn't give Shayla too much of a yard time." He knew that the girl was quite inquisitive, always wanting to grab hold of everything so she could pull it closer to get a better look at it. While he was used to all the tugging, as were both of his Khehora, he knew that others weren't quite as used to it.

The woman gave a soft chuckle before she shifted her child in her arms before handing him over to his father, a tall Orderite who was another member of the group, "It's quite alright, Jun, she is a good girl, just curious." She said before stepping closer. She seemed to get a thoughtful look on her face before she asked, "Junjie, what do you know of the girl's father?" He had talked of her mother, who was all Oblivionite according to Junjie, but she hadn't heared anything about the little one's father which was quite curious about.

"Her father? I can't say for sure, I am assuming he was Orderite given her wings though. Any details about him though... well, I haven't a clue." He said, giving a little sigh as he looked down at the little one in his arms, leaning in to give her a kiss on the forehead, "I wish I knew more about him or even where to look for him. She is his daughter, I am just caring for her until I can find him." If he could find him. He didn't even know if the man was alive... what if he'd died before the Oblivionite woman had been attacked? What if he didn't even know about the fact that the woman was carrying? He might not even be interested in raising a mixed blood child, not everyone was. Fooling around with another race, maybe, but raising a child that came from that tryst, that was a whole other ordeal.

Taking a step forward Shayla took Jun's hand in hers, "I don't think he was an Orderite, Junjie, I think he was more then that." She said, helping him to find something she had found not that long ago, "See? I was brushing her hair after she ate, I was going to put it up in pig tails to get it out of her eyes when I found this."

Junjie's fingers brushed against the small bumps on the little girl's head, something that he hadn't noticed before, something that made his eyes go wide, "Horn buds?" He murmured, his voice showing surprise. It was an announcement that had the others gathering closer to get a better look at the girl. She looked up at them, wide eyed and curious, but reallly gave no protest when the other set to inspecting the find as well. Horn buds, there was only one race amongst the three of them that got such a thing and that was Dovaa! Giving a smile Junjie said, "So her father was like me. Interesting." That might very well make it even harder to find him, those like him, they were good at making themselves scarce due to those in the world that didn't like them. It was one more reason to look after her and to protect her, she was a mix of all of the races, not just two of them.

"I thank you for bringing this to me, Shayla, I will see about keeping a closer eye on her from now on. I would rather outsiders didn't tease her because of her mixed blood." He said, smiling down at the little girl who had gone from looking at the others who had been checking out her growing horns to instead playing with the pretty accessory in Jun's hair. Turning to look at the other members in the gathered group he said, "I am going to go talk with Abellio and Arjan, they should be made known of this as well since they help me look after her."

Giving everyone a nod he headed over to where his Khehora were waiting for him. It seemed as though things had gotten that much more complicated but it didn't mean that they were going to stop protecting her, it just meant that the little one was that much more special that was all. Upon reaching their sides the two came trotting over to look the little one over before leaning in to nuzzle against her head in a thoughtful manner, curious about what it was that he had been picking up on, before he gave a purring sound, "Oooo, neat! She's like a mix of you and Tila!" He chirped in a happy manner, tail swishing behind him.

Arjan looked at the girl for a long moment, making sure to stay out of reach, before he said, "This will make things more difficult." He muttered, then looked over at Jun, "We will need to go to him, huh? That Sage. It's the only way to get a hold of one of those 'great orbs' from what Abellio told me of when you first went to the Sage for aid." He wasn't sure what he thought about continuing to go to the Dovaa Sage for aid, it made it feel as though they weren't strong enough as a group if they needed to keep getting help from outsiders. Not only the Dovaa Sage but Lios and Arick as well. It frustrated him a little, he wanted to be able to do more for Junjie after all with his own abilities!

Junjied reaching out, patting Arjan on the head, "It will be alright, Arjan. The fact that we can see help from others is a good thing, it means despite what I am I have allies out there. They might be few and far between but they are loyal." He reassured the Kiandri, "As for the problem with finding a 'great orb' she is far too young for that. She needs to be old enough to pick which clan she wishes to be a part of after all. So much to think about and so much to do, but first and foremost he felt that they needed to pick a name for her. She really needed one of those most of all before he even considered the next step in their path.

Much to Think On

It had taken a bit of thought on the part of Junjie but finally he had come up with a name for the little girl that he was taking care of and that name was Keona. It was the sort of name that he felt was one that suited her due to the meaning. The name meant 'Gift from God'. Turning to look over at Abellio he gave a bit of a smile, "I think the question then becomes 'which God' huh?" The girl was a mix of all three races, meaning that she was a very special gift, one that he felt should be loved and protected because there were those out there who wouldn't see little Keona in the same manner that he felt she should be treated. That merely meant that she would need to be strong so that she would be able to hold her head high in the future he thought to himself. Leaning over he gave her a kiss on the forehead, "It will be alright, we will keep you safe." He told her, giving the little one a smile.

There was a snort from Arjan, "We can keep her safe for only so long, Junjie. We need to consider training her once she is old enough for such things." The Kiandri told him, feeling that as the responsible one, as well as the only on who wasn't as bedazzled by everything that the little whelp did, that it was his task to make sure she was well trained. Just as with Junjie he would be sure to get on her case to make sure that she was able to fight! Just hoping for the best wasn't going to get her ahead in the world, she had to be ready to fight for what she wanted just as Junjie always had to fight for everything he wanted.

There was a quiet, thoughtful pause on Junjie's part before he gave a bit of a sigh, "Maybe we will be lucky and things will be better when she grows up." While he hoped that would be the case he knew full well he couldn't bet on the end of the war happening. As such he would need to follow Arjan's suggestion, wouldn't he? Not something that he liked the sound of but then again he was sure that his mother had felt the same way when it came to him learning to battle as he had. He'd had the aid of the Dovaa Sage, something that he might have to seek out for Keona. It wasn't something that they didn't have to worry about right now though, not when she was still so tiny. It was still their duty to look after her and make sure that she was kept safe. The day that she had to fight was something he hoped wouldn't happen any time soon. He would rather that she stayed small enough so that he could keep her safe.

Turning to look at Arjan he finally said, "You are right, she will need to learn, but not quite yet. Given she is too little to even stay awake for long periods of time I am sure that she doesn't need to be battling dragons or carrying weapons quite yet. If you want to help train her when she is bigger though I suppose I can allow it. I know you have done well in motivating me in the past after all."

Arjan seemed to puff up and preen a bit, seeming to be quite pleased with Junjie's words. Good, so his bonded agreed with him, "Good, I will see to it that she gets strong." It would be a lot harder then training Junjie though. The girl wasn't his bonded after all meaning that he would need to talk out loud to her a lot, giving her vocal instruction and orders. It would take a bit longer he was sure but it would be worth it if she was a better student then Junjie could be at times. He really had to push to get him to listen at times when he found something more interesting to do... things such as gallivanting about to play with his friends. Foolish wastes of time that took up valuable training time. He'd teach the little whelp how to better manage her time he thought to himself, tail swishing behind him thoughtfully.

"Just don't push her too hard, Arjan, or she might not like you." Abellio spoke up, not wanting to see the Kiandri picking on Keona even if it was because he wanted to see her succeed. Surely he must know that pushing too hard wouldn't end well? He'd rather not see her balk at her training because Arjan was too harsh a teacher after all, "Besides... we don't even know yet what sort of fighter she will be. Like our Jun she has much potential." He couldn't help but to wonder what sort of weapon she might pick and what clan she would want to be a part of! It was all so exciting!

Those thoughts seemed to get Junjie thinking as well, "Mmm, her clan... I hadn't even thought of that. I should probably speak with the Dovaa Sage about that, to see if it would be possible for her to get her a grand orb when the time for such a things comes." He mused out loud to the two Khehora.

Abellio gave a smile and said, "I am sure that he will help, he always does." He told his bonded before he gave Keona a glance, "Will you have her become Ysali like we are?" He asked a curious manner, wonder if Junjie wanted for her to follow in his footsteps, "Or will you encourage her to be Peisio like your mother?"

"Pft, she should be Kiandri like the Dovaa Sage and myself." Arjan spoke up, a smirk appearing on his face as he spoke. It was obvious that he was trying to pick a fight with Abellio over which clan it was that Keona should pick.

Both Khehora likely believed that their clan was the best clan and while Junjie enjoyed the powers that he had as a Ysali Dovaa he felt as though that was all a part of getting to truly choose his clan. He smiled as he looked down at the little girl who was resting in his arms before he finally said, "I will likely allow her to choose her own clan. Meeting others, such as the two of you, the Dovaa Sage, and of course mother will help her to see some of the clans. It would be good if she could meet with Tilawen, Rio, and Lilith as well, that would allow her to see Firani and Aiskala up close as well." He found himself wondering if Lilith had decided upon what clan she wanted to be a part of herself. It was something he'd have to ask her the next time he saw her though he couldn't say that she would be that much more talkative when next time. It likely depended on her mood.

"You still think we will find Tilawen?" Abellio asked in a curious manner, knowing full well that Junjie wanted to find his missing friend but given how much time had passed he felt that such a thing was unlikely. They had been searching for ages without so much of a single sighting of her, even Rio hadn't seen her...

Junjie glanced at Abellio, then dropped his gaze to looking at Keona who reminded him of Tilawen if only due to her coloration. The dark skin and reddish hair were very much like his friend he thought for an idle moment before he said, "I... want to believe that we will. She has been missing for a while but maybe she is off training? She might just want to get strong so that she can show her father up or something." At least that was what he hoped. Even if it were possible that he might not find her he felt that since he hadn't seen her gravestone and hand't heard news of her passing that she was still out there. He'd keep looking until he found her or the a fore mentioned stone.

"For now, let's think of happier things. Such as possible travel. We won't be able to go until Keona is no longer in need of her wet nurse but we still need to figure out exactly how we will be getting home to Serenia or to Ayr as we are." Two Hybrids of different mixes and two Khehora, it made travel interesting that was for sure. They would likely need to consult with Lios, something he felt guilty about since he didn't want to see as though he were using the Orderite but still, the man did want to make up to Junjie his past indiscretions. Maybe it would be alright to get some help from him? Given it wasn't needed straight away though he saw no reason to worry about it overly much at the moment. He'd worry about that later but he wanted it out there, just in case the other two came up with better ideas.

His thoughts were interrupted as Keona started to squirm and fuss a bit, a sure sign that she was starting to get hungry. He had been with her long enough that he was starting to get a hang of what she was trying to communicate to him. Be it that she was hungry, sleepy, or that she needed to be changed he was starting to slowly figure it out. She tossed in other things from time to time to test him, things like wanting to play, wanting Abellio to come closer so she could yank on him, and the like. Still, at least he was learning. Pushing to his feet he said, "Come on, let's see about getting you some more food." He cooed at Keona, getting a little smile from her before he started out of the tent then to where the wet nurse waited, ever flanked by his Khehora who were even more protective then ever now that they were guarding two Hybrids instead of one.

Studying the Clans

The pair of them were back in Tukyere and seemingly grounded for the rest of their lives... something that they half wanted to protest over but at the same time they were secretly happy. Their fathers had arrived just in time, took out the mean Kiandri dragon, and made sure that the two of them had gotten back safely to where they needed to be. Of course now that they were back in the city, currently under the watchful eye of the ever silent Aeton. It would appear that they were serious about making sure that the two of them didn't escape again if they had the sharp eyed Orderite archer watching the two of them. Still, it could be a lot worse if you asked them, they could have been eaten up by that dragon which didn't sound as though it would be any sort of fun at all.

"So... seems that we are stuck here for the rest of existence, Nana, so what do we want to do now?" There would be no clever escape, not from Aeton, so what to do now became the question.

It was the sort of question that had Keona thinking over deeply, head cocked to one side, one finger tapping against her lips, "Hmm... well, I suppose that we can talk about 'that' again." She said, knowing full well that the conversation tended to lead the two of them around in a lot of circles. If nothing else though at least in a city this big, with as many people as there were, they should be able to find more examples of what it was that they needed for 'that', right?

Bisera gave a thoughtful sound, then finally nodded, "I suppose that we can try 'that' again but we have to set the rule that nobody is allowed to throw punches this time around." He said, crossing his arms over his chest. They always got riles up and into the biggest battles when it came to event he mere idea of what they knew was going to be two of biggest decisions that either of them could pick in their lives, that being the choice of what weapons they wanted to wield and what clan they wanted to join. The latter of which was especially important, something that one couldn't make a mistake about.

"I say that we do the rounds! Oh! And fetch our notes, sound good, Bi?" She said, hurrying over to where her pack was sitting, digging around it it so that she could get a piece of paper that was folded many times over along with a writing utensil. After making sure that it was good and sharp, ready for lots of note taking, they were on their way. They had gotten all of a half dozen steps away from where they had been sitting before Aeton was following along after them. He seemed as though he wasn't making any move to stop them but he was going to make sure to keep an eye on them, to make sure that they didn't get into anymore trouble that they already had today. The downside being that him leaving the group to follow the kids meant that everyone else was stuck dealing with Hart without him playing the part of the mediator. Ah well, they would survive without him he was sure.

It didn't take long before the pair were where a crowd had gathered, people that lived in the city, refugees from the war, that sort of thing. Enough people that they should be able to get representatives from the clans that they weren't well versed in. Keona looked down at her list for a moment, then up again, "Alright, so we know a lot about the Ysali since my father and Abellio are both Ysali." She said, getting a nod from her friend, "Then we have Hart who represents the 'hot headed' Firani clan!"

Bi gave a grin and a nod, leaning over to look at the list, "My mother is a Peisio, not the battle variety but she is a good healer! So we know at least to a degree of what that clan and can." He added, ever impressed with what his mother could pull off despite the fact that she wasn't a warrior herself, glancing up he said, "Then there is Arjan who is Kiandri, not as strong as some since he's bonded but still a tough guy. A good representative of the Kiandri for sure."

Keona nodded, "Yeah, so that leaves us needing an Ayrala, an Aiskala, and a Gaili so that we can have information on all three of the clans." She said, looking from side to side, getting a feel for those in the area around them, wondering if they would be lucky enough to actually find those that they were looking for today.

"Do you even think there will be any Aiskala around? I mean it's not exactly the right weather for them, is it? Wouldn't they melt?" It was a comment that even had Aeton, who was normally rather quiet, cracking a bit of a smile at the thought of an Aiskala Dovaa melting in the heat.

"Pft, of course not! My daddy said that his friend, a lady named Erionda, was Aiskala and she actually lived in in Eowyn for a while!" She said, looking around before giving a little sigh, "It would be nice if we could meet with her to learn about the Aiskala but since we aren't that lucky we will just have to..." She trailed off when Bi suddenly elbowed her, "Ow! What?"

Bi pointed before ahead toward something that he'd spotted, something that caused her to follow where he was pointing with her eyes. It didn't take long before she saw a rather large man who was in line at a blacksmith, looking as though he was wanting the massive mace in his hands to get repaired. He appeared to be half Dovaa, half Oblivionite if the two of them had to guess, all muscle, and going off the coloring of his scales he also appeared to be a Gaili! The two of them exchanged excited glances before racing forward, eager to get the study of the Gaili underway.

Learning From a Gaili

The pair of young hybrids came to stand behind the giant of a man for a moment, starring at him, studying him closely, before Keona set to circling around him. It was after a couple of circles were made that she finally came to stand behind him again and once there she gave a thoughtful sound before she asked, "Hey! Sir? Where did you get the tail?" It was one of those things that she just had to know because it was just so... awesome!

The man turned around, as though preparing to start something over the strange question... until he looked down and realized the one asking him such a thing was just a tiny girl and her goggle wearing friend. The man glanced down at his tail, flicked it from side to side, then looked ahead again once more toward the blacksmith, "It's something that comes with age, as well as sharing half my blood with the Oblivionite race." He told the strange pair of mixed blood children. It was obvious from his stlted answer that he wasn't exactly used to dealing with kids and especially not ones that were so curious.

Keona gave a squeaking sound of excitement, stepping forward to catch hold of his sleeve tugging on it, "I'm half Oblivionite! Will I get one too?" She asked, forgetting for a moment all about the real reason that she had approached him in the first place.

Bisera hadn't forgotten though, crossing his arms over his chest, and gave a grumbling sound, "Nana! That isn't why we came here, remember?! We are supposed to be asking him about his clan not his tail!" He said, reaching out to give her a little shove. What did he care about the guy's tail? It wasn't as though he could get one, he wasn't an Oblivionite, what mattered instead was the fact that the man was Gaili and they needed to learn about the clan so that they knew something more about it!

The man gave a pain sighed, looking down at them again, inspecting the pair before he said, "First off, I can't say if you will get a tail, those of us with mixed blood are a sort of lottery of features. As for my clan I am of the Gaili, an earth magic user." With hoped that would be it... but he could tell from the looks on their faces that there might be more coming as far as questions went. He seemed to debate for a moment on chasing them off... until he spotted the archer that was watching him closely from a distance, their handler no doubt. He shook his head, not wanting to start anything with the guy, and instead he turned so he was looking forward once more, "You have until I get to the front of the line, ask whatever it is that you want."

The two apprentices exchanged a glanced before they set to asking all manner of questions in a hurried manner, wanting to get as many answers as possible between now and when the giant Gaili got to the front of the line and was able to get his weapon repaired. All the information the pair could get on his clan the better since it would help them to figure out if the clan was one that they wanted to become a part of or not. It was an important decision and they meant to get all the information they could right from the source.

The questions that they asked covered a wide range. From what sort of power it gave him, what sorts of spells he was capable of, how tough he was, how many dragons he'd taken down and so on. The man wasn't exactly the best with children but he seemed to at least be trying his best the pair since it was obvious that they weren't going to leave him alone since he was of the clan that they were so interested in. The wave of questions continued onward until it was suddenly the giant man's turn to chat with the busy blacksmith.

He turned his attention back to the pair, starring down at them, before he held up a hand to silence their chatter, "Times up, little whelps. How about you get on your way back to your archer friend."

The two nodded their heads, looking a bit saddened to see that their time was up but the two were quick to scurry away from him. The moment they were out of the line they were kneeling down, both of them setting to work scratching down the information that they'd gotten from him on the paper that they kept all the important information on. Once everything was down on the paper the two of them couldn't help but to grin excitedly, "One down, two more to go!" Keona said excitedly before she pushed up to her feet, brushing the sand off of her before she smiled, "Come on! Let's go find the other two!"

Bisera nodded rapidly before turning to look over at the one that was following along after them, "Come on, Aeton! We need to find more Dovaa!" He called out, waving a hand at the Orderite, before the two of them were rushing off again with the man hurrying along after the pair so as not to lose track of them. He had the task of watching after them today and he wasn't about to let them get the better of him.

An Amazing Pair

"Watch out down below, please!" Came a voice from a ways off before a woman descended in a manner that looked cute at first... until she seemed to miss her landing, wobbled about with her arms windmilling, and fell over backwards. It was a sight that had Keona and Bisera starred, their eyes rather wide, finding the sight to be a bit of a starting one. They exchanged glanced before taking a couple steps forward... when a rather broad, muscular woman stepped forward to help the other woman up. The two of them were quite the sight next to each other. The first one was a cute, short, curvy Dovaa woman with silver streaks through her hair, and the other was a muscle woman with spiky blue hair that seemed the sort that could mop the floor with any man.

To say the least it was both a Godsend given their clans, but it was also a sight that had Keona sighing happily, "Wow! That Aiskala woman looks so cool!" She said in a wistful manner. She was so strong! Just look at her! And those pretty wings of hers! She starred at them a moment before giving a meeping sound. Wait... those wings, they looked somewhat draconic but with some feathers to them as well. Was she Orderite as well? At least a little bit? She looked mostly Dovaa but maybe with a touch of Orderite too her? She wasn't certain but what she knew for sure was she was just amazing!

Bisera gave her a once over then rolled his eyes, "I don't know who you are looking at Nana, but I can't say she is that amazing. She looks like a man... now her friend on the other hand, she's cute." He said, inspecting the klutzy girl for a moment, finding that he rather liked the look of her as she was just... cute! Especially next to the friend of hers that seemed to scolding her about 'being more careful using that spell' and so on. It had him giving a thoughtful sound before he looked at his friend, "What spell do you think she used, Nana?"

"Hmmm... I'm not sure, Bi... but I think we should go say hello to them! I mean this is a blessing from Abronaxus that we would find the right two Dovaa clans together like this! We were sent on this path to find them." She told her friend grabbing hold of his wrist so that she could drag him over to where the two were standing, gazing up at them with her sparkling eyes, before she said in an all too excited voice, "Hello! I'm Keona and this is Bisera! Can we ask you about your clans?"

The two turned away from one another to look down at the two of them before the Ayrala woman gave a little squeak, "Ah! Look, little apprentices! Aren't the two of you just far too cute for your own good?" She said, clapping her hands together before she squatted down in front of them, "Ah! You must be of that age where you are going to be choosing your own clans, hm? Interesting." Turning to look over at her friend she gave her a nod then looked back at them, "We have some time, do you want to sit down with us and we can chat?"

Keona and Bisera were instantly nodding their heads rapidly, getting out their paper and writing utensils, "Yes! Let's do that!" Both said in unison, their voices excited over getting to chat with these two particular woman that had manage to impress both Keona and Bisera so easily.

The two Dovaa woman saw the paper, as well as all the notes scratched down on it, and both started to laugh. It would seem as though the pair doing in depth research was something that amused the pair quite a bit. It was the Aiskala warrior that lifted a calloused hand and motioned to them and then to Aeton and said, "Come on then, we will find a place in the shade if we are going to do this. This weather is scorching today for someone like me and I need it." She said, leading the way to where the lot of them would be able to sit down and have what felt to her like an interview that was being led by a pair of little apprentices. She supposed that she understood though, especially after the awful battles that they had just been through, that the pair wanted to be prepared for the future. If the chat would help them out in anyway then she was willing to help, though maybe with a lot less squealing then her friend was making.

Upon reaching a spot that had a nice overhang to protect them from the sun everyone sat down, save for Aeton who just leaned against the building a little set away from the rest of the group, and the interview began. Since there was far less of a run with the woman as there had been with the Gaili man they were able to get a lot more in depth and ask all sorts of extra questions, giving them even more insight into the Ayrala and Aiskala clans then what they'd gotten on the Gaili. It was something that would help out a lot when it came to deciding upon their own personal clans come decision making day.

Decision Made

Keona and Bisera were sitting in the shade outside the small place where their hunting party had been staying while they were in Tukyere. The two of them were going over the notes that they had taken up to this point, studying the information contained on the pages. Their investigating and interviews of those of various clans covered a lot of information, all of it important to the pair of them due to what it represented. What they decided was going to change their lives, determining the powers and abilities that they were going to gain. It was too important for them not to put a lot of time and thought into.

It was Bisera that spoke up first as he asked her, "What do you think, Nana?" Wondering what she thought about the various information that they had gathered. There were so many options, so many clans, that a Dovaa was able to choose from once they came of age. While the two of them weren't of pure Dovaa lineage they had the blood of that clan running through their veins, as such they would still need to face this choice. As he looked everything over, brushing the tips of his fingers against the papers spread out before him he finally said, "I think I want to go Gaili, they seem like power houses if that big guy we met was any indication. If I am going to take over for my father one day I am going to have to be as strong as he is."

"A rather lofty goal." Keona mused, starring down at the paper for a moment then nodded, "Alright, I think that, if you are going to become a Gaili then I want to be..." He looked at one of the clans, what they had learned of it, and such gave a smile, "I want to be of the Ayrala clan."

The two hybrid children looked up at each other, down at their notes, then up again before they seemed to realize that they had finally done it, they had decided! The two were suddenly scrambling up to their feel, grabbing up their papers so that they could race over to where their parents were currently gathered, trying to decide what they were going to do from here. Keona jumped up, giving a flap of her golden wings and hung off off of her father's back while Bisera did the same to his father. The two of them then exclaimed in excited voices, "We picked our clans!"

The hunting party seemed to go completely quiet, everyone exchanging surprised glances. The pair had been working on studying the clans for so long that the group was pretty sure that they were never going to be able to decide what clan that they wanted to draw their powers from. Surprisingly enough it was the often silent Aeton that asked, "So what clans did you decide on?" He'd been been following after them while they hassled various people with Dovaa blood about their clans and he had to admit that he was rather interested in what clans they would finally decide upon.

Dropping off his father's Bisera lifted a hand to pat it against his chest and declared, "I am going to be the most powerful Gaili ever! I will prove that I will be a good leader one day." He gave a toothy grin.

Keona pulled herself up so that she could look over Junjie's shoulder at Bisera, then around the group, before she said, "I want to be of the Ayrala clan, they sound so amazing!" She said in an excited manner.

Both of them then looked up at their parents and asked in unison, "Can we join the clans now?" They were eager to become a part of their respective clans now that they had decided which ones they wanted to be a part of. The sooner they were able to join their clans the sooner that they would be all the magic that their respective clan had access too. They had seen their parents and fellow hunting party members wielding such magic, something that made them all that much more excited to do just that!

The group exchanged thoughtful gazes before Hart finally sighed, lifting a hand up to everyone's attention before he said, "I will fetch the great orbs from the Celestial Plane, I've been wanting to check on the family I have there anyway." He shrugged then as though it was nothing before he lifted a hand, pointing at the kids, "If either of you even think of hugging me the deal is off and someone else can fetch them."

As the man moved off, going to gather his things, Aeton hurried after him, to chat with him before he left. With the two of them gone it was Kathel who spoke up next, "While we wait for Hart to return with their great orbs I think that perhaps we should consider another important milestone for our children, don't you think Shayla, Junjie?"

Shayla and Junjie both went wide eyed as they realized what that meant, seeming to be struggling with the thought before Junjie finally said in a reluctant tone of voice, "Weapons... it's not something I want to think about Keona getting already, she is still so young... but at the same time we don't know when the Mara might pop back up. Not to mention they will likely sneak out again to try to hunt dragons. We can leave them unarmed." A hard thing for him to consider because it meant giving his baby a weapon.

Of course said 'babies' were both suddenly jumping up and down in delight over the fact that they would soon get to pick weapons along with having just picked clans. It was something that would only make them that much more formidable. On top of that Junjie had mentioned more dragon hunts, something that the two wanted to try again soon! The first attempt hadn't gone too well but with practice surely they would be able to get better at such a thing.

Junjie gave a soft sigh before he said, "Alright, go play, Kathel and I will see about talking with the local blacksmith, alright?" He watched as the two squealing children rushed off, turning to the big Orderite and said, "I suppose we should go then? Shayla, will you come along?"

The Peisio woman shook her head, "Go ahead you two, I will wait here for Aeton to get back." She said, making a little shooing motion that said that the pair could go ahead and chat with the blacksmith about the weapons. A part of her wanted to try to talk the pair into following her lead, to be noncombatant healers, but she knew that the two were far too much like their fathers for something like that. No, they wanted to be in the think of things meaning she would need to be prepared to heal up any bumps, bruises, and wounds that they might come back with when they did go out hunting. It was the job of a wife and mother to wait it for her children to return, something she had to remind herself of.

A New Friend

The two apprentices ran around for a while, getting a good look around the area at the different warriors, trying to get a feel for the various weapons that they were going to have access to soon. Their fathers were out chatting with the blacksmith, getting them an appointment with the man, so that they could get their own personal weapons. It was only after a while of racing about that they returned, back home where Shayla was waiting, chatting with Aeton.

"Moooom! Can Nana and I have some lunch?" Bisera asked after he ran up to her, giving her a bright smile, "Something quick, maybe? So that we be ready for when Dad and Uncle Junjie gets back?" He looked back and forth, as though searching for the pair of them in a hopeful manner, before looking back over to his mother once more. The two fathers were in sight yet meaning that all of their childish energy and attention was turned toward Shayla.

Kenoa nodded along with what Bisera was saying before he said, "Yeah, we want to go and get our weapons the moment we are able! Maybe then they will bring us out hunting!" She was all but bouncing in place along side her friend. She wanted to be able to take on more dragons given that their first attempt had been embarrassing at best. They had to get back out there and make another attempt at it.

The way that the two of them seemed to be ready to bounce away at a moment's notice was something that actually got Shayla to chuckle before nodding to them, "Alright, little ones. I will get the two of you something to eat. Try to sit still if at all possible." She said, ruffling their hair gently between their horns, before she turned to head into the house. It was a short time later that she came back with an assortment of crusty bread, dried fruit and meat, and some water in a water skin. It was all handed over to the two of them and she said, "Don't wander too far, we don't know when your fathers will be back."

The two nodded before hurrying off, just as far as the corner of the building, and sat in the shade there so that they would be able to see their fathers coming from a distance. That was if they could pick out the two men in the crowd that was already gathered. A cloth was laid down with the two of them sitting on either side of it, food placed on top of it. It was a small meal, as well as a quick one, but it was exactly what they wanted so it worked out. All that they required now was for their fathers to return and the pair would be quite happy.

Keona reached out to grab up a handful of the dried fruit, tossing some of it into her mouth, before looking around, "I hope that they get back soon." She said, her words a little muffled by the food in her mouth.

Giving a bit of a laugh Bisera nodded his head, "Yeah, I hope so too. I want to get going." He said, reaching out to scoop up a long chunk of the dried meat, chewing on it slowly, with half of it hanging out of his mouth. He already had an idea for the weapon that he wanted, but he still wanted to get a look at all of them at once just to make sure. He turned to look over at Keona, giving her a smile around the jerky he was chewing on, before he looked away.

The two of them were starring down the road, impatient looks on their faces, waiting. Their impatient waiting was disrupted by a squeaking sound, something that caused Bisera to ask, "Did you say something, Nana?"

Keona shook her head, "No... I thought it was you." She said, when she got nudged in the arm, "Huh? What?" She asked of her friend, lifting a hand to wave at him... when she felt something warm and scaly, something that was most certainly not Bisera. It was something that made Keona go stock still, turning slowly to glance over at what her hand was resting on.

After turning she found herself starring at a... khehora whelp? She blinked a couple times, listening to the creature as it gave a little squeak sound, the sound from earlier, and she realized what he was squeaking about. Keona glanced down at the food, blinked a couple times, then said, "Ahhh, oh! I see." She murmured, reaching down to scoop up a piece of the jerky, holding it out to the little orakoi, "Eat up, little whelp." She said, patting him on the head gently.

The little one chewed on the treat it was given, turning to look in the direction the pair were looking in even though he didn't know what they were doing. Once he was done with the treat that he'd been given he walked around behind Keona to nudge Bisera this time, squeaking at him as well. The boy turned to glance over at him, starred moment at the creature that was starring at their food. He bit off the piece of the jerky he was chewing on, offering the khehora the other half, "There you go, little guy." He said, barely taking his eyes off the road that their fathers had been in.

The little orakoi moved back and forth between the two of them, mooching food off of the distracted apprentices, eating his fill before curling up alongside them. His head came to rest on Keona's lap as he fell back to sleep and without even really thinking on it she set to petting him. It was a while later that the two finally spotted their fathers coming toward them, something that caused them both to lunge to their feet rushing over to meet the two men, with the sleepy Khehora followed suit, tail wagging.

Armed and Ready

As they arrived at the spot that their children were standing Junjie and Kathel found themselves starring down at an unexpected addition to the pair, that being a little orakoi that was standing there with them. The pair of fathers exchanged glances before looking forward at the creature that was with their children again once more, both thinking about the same thing, where the thing had come from and which of the two children it was bonded with. It was a bit of a surprise, that the two of them had gotten a Khehora egg from somewhere, especially that neither of them had spilled such a secret to anyone in the group.

Junjie knew he couldn't really say much, not when he had two bonded of his own. As such if it was Keona that had bonded with this little one then he'd just have to help her learn how to best raise the little guy. After a long moment of silence he finally said, "We were able to chat with the blacksmith, he said that if we hurry over he will be able to talk to the two of you and help you to pick our your weapons." He wanted nothing more then to talk about the little Khehora whelp that the pair had with them but he knew full well that they had to get to the blacksmith first. The man couldn't put his business on hold forever for them after all.

Kathel glanced over at Junjie, seeming to be weighing his option, before nodding. It seemed as though Junjie meant to leave the talk about the little whelp later and he supposed that it made sense. They needed to get back after all, everything else could wait until after the two were given their special weapons, something that the two of them needed. Kathel wasn't so foolish or naive to think that his son was going to have it easy, not when he was of mixed heritage. As such Bisera, as well as Keona, both needed to be armed and trained to use both their weapons and their magic to the best of their abilities so that they would be able to protect each other and themselves.

"Come along Bisera, Keona, we need to hurry if we don't want to lose our chance." Kathel said, motioning to them, before turning to lead the way back in the direction the two father's had come from.

Keona and Bisera exchanged glances before hurrying to gather up their things. Once they had everything picked up they hurried after their fathers as quickly as their feet would carry them, not really noticing the fact that the little Khehora was following along after them. The two kids had fed the little guy and now that they had it appeared as though he was determined to stick with them. The trio caught up with Junjie and Kathel a short time later, with the two apprentices coming to stand alongside their fathers while the little Khehora trailed behind a couple steps, keeping a close eye on everyone so as not to lose track of his meal ticket.

What was a very short time later, but felt as though it were an eternity for Keona and Bisera, the pair of them were arriving at the blacksmith. A small sign was up declaring that he would 'be back shortly' leaving people to make a line, while the small group went around to enter the shop through a side door. It was then that the two of them saw the big blacksmith again, someone that they had only seen from a distance the last time that they were near to his shop. Not to mention that they had been more interesting in bothering that Gaili man then really getting a good look at the blacksmith who had been hard at work.

Junjie was the first to speak up as he said, "I thank you for taking time out of your day to help us out like this." Ever the polite sort when it came to everyone that he dealt with.

The man starred at Junjie before giving his scruffy chin a scratch, "Yeah, yeah, don't be thinking that I am doing you some grand favor. I enjoy breaks from time to time and that is more or less what this is." He said, shrugging before he motioned to the weapons that he'd laid out on the ground, "These are the ones, the weapons that you kids can pick from, weapons that will be for you and you alone once they become yours." Laying there before them were four weapon types, the sword, the mace, the bow, and the wand. The man gave them a moment to inspect them before he said, "They are imprinted weapons, magical in nature, and their forms will come to reflect your own power and heart, you will see in time. So, any idea what you might want to wield?"

It was a question that had both Junjie and Kathel holding their breath, not wanting to interfere with the choice, it was something that the pair of apprentices had to choose on their own after all. The only thing the two could do was wait, watch, and then help them learn how best to wield their chosen weapon, and magic, when everything had been finalized.

It was Bisera who acted first, taking a step forward to scoop up the mace, giving it a toothy grin, "This is the one I want, it will go well with my clan I feel." Bisera was going all out assault it would appear, something that he felt would be best when it came to taking out any threats that came at their group. He tested the weight of the weapon in one hand, then two, before giving a nod, "This is definitely the one, I can feel it." He took a step back then, clapping his hand on Keona's back and asked, "What about you? Whatca thinking, Nana?"

Keona gave a thoughtful sound in her throat as she went through the other three weapons. While she knew that she too could pick the mace she was alright with just Bisera getting that one, it didn't exactly call to her. Neither did the sword as she gave it a glance, no, it would be either the wand or the bow, both were good weapons, useful at a distance, useful for an Ayrala who could get up high, but which one? A part of her said that she should pick the wand so that she could be like her father, knowing that if she picked it that she could learn a lot from him as far as magic went... but she wasn't her father. She loved him but she didn't want to follow after him and be his shadow, she was her own person after all. After giving Junjie a glance she drew in a deep breath, let it out slowly, and walked forward to pick up the bow, "I want this one." She murmured, hoping that her father wouldn't be upset with her choice not to become a pure mage like him. She would be able to still wield Dovaa magic after all, so it wasn't as though she was closing the door on such magic completely, right?

Kathel and Junjie inspected the choices made by the pair before both gave them smiles, "Good picks." Kathel said, patting both of them on the head before he dug into his pocket, getting out the necessary coin to pay for Bisera's weapon and Junjie followed suit, paying for the bow that Keona had picked, "I will work with you, Bisera, when it comes to your weapon, Aeton will be able to help Keona with learning her bow, and Junjie, you and Shayla and... well... Hart, you three will help with magic. While you are all of different clans you will be able to at least teach them the basics, right?"

Junjie nodded his head, "Of course, different spells but the theory will remain the same." He said, giving the pair a smile, "Once Hart returns with your Great Orbs then our magic lessons will begin. Until then work hard with your weapon practice, alright? We are counting on you to do your best, no more running off and getting into trouble, alright?" A warning he hoped would keep the pair from going off to take on every dragon without a Eowyn now that they had the weapons to do so.

The kids gave rapid nods of their heads before they were rushing off, the Khehora following close behind, wanting to get back so that they could show their new weapons off to Shayla and Aeton. It was an exciting day for them both, excitement that would only grow as they waited for Hart to get back with their Great Orbs so that they could join their chosen clans. There was going to be nothing but lessons for the two of them for some time to come, especially after the orbs arrived, but it would be worth it in their minds. They wanted to do more then just hide after all, they wanted to fight to, to help protect their family, and if studying would help them do that then so be it! They would just have to sneak off and have fun between the lessons was all.
