As Gun entered the shrine he rubbed at his chest absently. He needed to come here, though. He needed to do ask the goddesses asked so he could join them.

"Of course I love you," he replied to the third goddess, earnestly. The goddesses were giving him a huge opportunity that they didn't need to. Even through the negatives of what had happened so far he could see that this was a big deal.

"..Tea party?" He asked uncertainly. How would a tea party help him?

***

The sudden music was... weird. He couldn't figure out what the separate pieces of it were, but it made him feel good and kind of light. The solid white flecks falling from the sky only increased that feeling. Everything was beautiful and light.

He crunched through the substance towards the table and examined the bottles seated there. Unsure why, he picked up the blue bottle and downed it in a single go. It gave him a sort of unsettled feeling, like he was worried about something.

He picked up the cupcake that was suddenly there, because cupcakes would always make him feel better, but as he bit into it it was just.. unsatisfying. There was none of the bliss the cake usually brought. Instead i came with a bolt of trepidation. Something wasn't quite right. He reached for something to drink, hoping the tea would calm his nerves.

As he brought the pale cup of tea to his lips and took a sip, his vision blurred.

It was late, and he was tired. He was just now walking up the path to his home, and he couldn't be more grateful because he ready to just.. fall into bed. He fully expected his parents to be asleep already, but when he walked through the front door, his dad was sitting on the couch, watching a near-mute TV. He looked up when Feng walked in and smiled. "Hey, son."

Feng's heart dropped. "Hey, dad."

Concern crossed his dad's features and he stood. "What's wrong, Feng?"

He closed his eyes against the vision of his father's worried face. He didn't want to have this conversation yet. He didn't want to bring this bad news in the dead of the night, when the entire neighborhood was quiet and serene. But he didn't have a choice.

"I saw them again," he whispered. "In the store room."

There was a pause, and when his dad finally responded he sounded resigned. "Saw what?"

"The shadows," Feng said. "They were lurking between the shelves, watching me. I quit the job, dad."

There was a heavy sigh, and Feng opened his eyes. Immediately, he wished he hadn't. His dad looked disappointed. Fed up. Things he never usually saw on that calm face.

"What am I supposed to do with that, Feng? This is what, the fifth job? In two years?" He tilted his head back as if asking god for the answers, and then looked back to Feng. "You can't keep quitting jobs."

"But the shadows!" he said, defensively. "They keep following me!"

"Then maybe it's time to stop running!" His dad shouted. "They're obviously not going away so just... find away to deal with it Feng. This isn't how you're going to live you life. Man up!"

Feng flinched back. He'd actually made his dad angry enough to shout. He was fairly certain his dad had never raised his voice at him. Everything was always calm and controlled.

He'd messed up so bad. He wasn't even good enough for his dad anymore.

He fingered the hem of his shirt - the stupid polo this job had made him wear - and bit his lip. He wasn't going to be able to make his father happy. He couldn't just face the shadows when he didn't know what they were. He knew that he'd just keep running, and he was going to ruin what he had with his dad.

Instead of talking, he ran to his room.

Feng choked on the tea and covered his mouth with one hand. "Oh god..." he whispered.

Colour of Tea Tasted: Magenta
Description: Exhaustion. A father. Shadows. A shout, and he recoils. Running.

Your commentary on its flavour: Despite the confusion swirling in the tea, Linswo can only feel concern for the tea's owner. He can understand the owner's feelings, though he isn't sure why. If he knew the owner he would've pulled him into a hug. Even if his father didn't approve, the tea's owner had his reasons. Someday his father would understand. Someday...

Colour of Tea Tasted: Magenta
Description: trepidation, confusion, with a sad finish.

Your commentary on its flavour: She sighed at watching this one. It was sad, with the spice of confusion running through it at the boy's father. It seemed that the father was fed up with the excuse of these shadows. She did not know what they were but she felt that a parent ought to try to be more understanding or at least try to find out whether the boy was seeing them or not for real. Still the pain of disappointed hurt her as well, it reminded her of her own parents not liking her furry fetish. She knew that she was not supposed to have it but they were just like this parent. I caused her to wince, and sigh.

Colour of Tea Tasted: Magenta
Description: The taste was questionable... was that a crunch?

Your commentary on its flavour: Aeru agreed with the father's sentiments. Surely the Feng could deal with the shadows instead of running. Running would only allow them to follow. Coward... still, he felt like he had to root for Feng.

Colour of Tea Tasted: plum
Description: Lonelyness, a clay red. the taste is chalky.

Your commentary on its flavour:Rejection... he understood this on some level. He did not like the memory but it played as if it were his own. He didn't know what those shadows were but the disappointment on the older man's face was clear. "It will never end." At least he wasn't the only one to be rejected.

Colour of Tea Tasted: Wine
Description: It's a sour sense of surprise mixed with guilt, frustration and followed by a bitter loneliness.

Your commentary on its flavour:Her ears folded down on themselves as she felt the emotions ebb and flow over the conversation. The father clearly did not understand and perhaps did not wish to understand. Sorrow filled her as the memory continued to play out and the anger and sadness swelled. How could a father treat his son that way? She shrunk under the feelings of rejection coming through. An immense fear of loss took her and she struggled with it.

Running had been the only option though it made her sad to hear the door slam after the fact. Sighing she placed the cup back in place and stood motionless for a moment staring at it. A cruel unfairness had happened without proper understanding. Shaking her head she walked away, feeling sorry for the relationship which had been broken so suddenly.

Colour of Tea Tasted: Mulberry
Description: Shame, Pain, and Sorrow

Your commentary on its flavour: Aryn felt uncomfortable with this memory, almost as though it had hit somewhere close to home with a past experience of his own. Though he wasn't sure what. It was true what the father said to Feng. He couldn't run forever. But it wasn't like Feng was wrong either. How could you stand up to something you didn't even understand or had no way of understanding? To Aryn it seemed that the father didn't quite understand what Feng was going through, or that he even fully believed him and it hurt to see it.

Colour of Tea Tasted: Purple.
Description: Disappointment, Fear ,Worry, Grief.

Your commentary on its flavour: He was somewhat defensive to the thought of Shadows scaring a person, him being one himself. However he felt the fear form the boy. He had also felt the deep fear from being shunned by his father. This felt utterly familiar. His eyes narrowed and he pondered this carefully. Why wouldn't the father understand the pain behind the boy's fears?
