It was late. It neared the curfew but he liked staying in the Reaper's Dorm. In a particular reaper's dorm room. He had been staying there secretly for some time. Mostly sleeping under the reaper's bed. But it became a habit. After all this seemed to be the only way he could sleep without those nightmares.
The nightmares that used to come day after day. Night after night. He would relive countless memories of a certain peacock's death in the dream world.
They all went away when he started sleeping under that bed though. And he was very grateful towards the reaper. He would spend more time with him. Almost never separating sides from him. He would even take classes with him. With how much he clung to the boil's side, people were beginning to think that they were together.
But he would deny it over and over. Saying they were but merely friends. With each time he said this though, the boil took farther steps away from him. Until one day the reaper asks him quietly not to return to his room. He wonders why. And sits outside the door. When people would pass by they would assume that the two had a fight.
He would just say that he was waiting for the reaper. And then more assumptions about their relationship would sky rocket. After a couple of days of him sitting outside the boil's door, he finally comes out and stared down at him. His eye was red and he looked angry and upset.
Brows furrowed, he tilted his head and stood up, looking confusedly a the boil. He tried to take his hand but the reaper pulled away and glared at him. He hisses softly and presses more towards the reaper. The boil keeps trying to get him to stay out of his room. The reaper pushed and pushed as he kept trying to ask what's wrong. He kept trying to push inside so they could talk.
But the reaper finally snaps and yells at him and he wiped the tears from his eyes. "Why do you stay here when you have someone else you're pining for? Why must you torment me.."
He looked even more confused. "What?"
"Ever day I hope that you'll see me like you saw that peacock! But you jsut.. you keep shooting it down. I know you don't like me that way, but.. It hurts. It hurts so much." And his eyes were full to the brim with tears. He wiped them and sobbed. "Stop sleeping here. Stop teasing me. Just. Stop coming all together. " And the boil slammed his door leaving him there. He suddenly realized everything he did had confused his friend.
He looked down. he was ashamed by his own actions. And he stood up to leave. His own eyes teared. One falling down his cheek slowly as he realized the mistakes he made.
