How long had she been in this place, Ruse wondered to herself as she laid her head against the cool marble walls of the shrine, eyes closed to let herself relax and recuperate. Beside her lay the grey sword she had forged from the creatures she had fought. She had done many things so far, but nothing had given her any clues as to who she was. Sure, she felt more like herself. The tasks that she had completed for the goddesses had done that much for her. But it wasn't enough. In all her wonderings, she still had not found what she'd been looking for. Nor did she have any ideas of what it was she was searching for. Was it a person, a item? Maybe even her memories?

Sighing, the shadow lifted up her hand and stared at it, gazing at the dark wisps of fog that floated away. Her fingers ended in sharp claws, which she brushed through her wavy hair along the edges of her webbed ears. Everything was so confusing, she could hardly make sense of it all. No, it was better to just walk forwards, slashing at things and throwing punches. She felt better when she did these things. It gave her something to focus on, a clear objective to which she could strive for.

And there was the goddesses themselves. They said she could become one of them. Ruse liked that idea very much. Perhaps this was what she was looking for. And if not, it would become so much easier if she was goddess. She would be powerful, revered...she might even find out who she was.

Opening her eyes, she watched the water fell over the edge of the shrine, memorized by it's beauty. As she watched, Ruse became aware of something glowing nearby. Blinking in surprise, she looked down to her waist; a white glow emanated form a small object. A pin in the shape of a skull.

How this had escaped her notice before was beyond her. It must have only started glowing recently.

Something else also caught her attention. Her eyes were drawn from the glowing pin the night sky. She had seen the red moon before but took no notice of it. Now she could see clearly the moon was more fuller then before. But not only that, it seemed...bigger. It's presence sent a shiver down her spine.

"Wonder what that's all about..." She mused, seeking the comfort of her weapon.
