Deciding it was time to move to a more secure place, Rusekops found herself on the edge of the area, looking over a set of steep cliffs. Around the cliffs were strange items. And she found them quite curious indeed. What caught her eye though was the small shack, and upon entering it she saw all sort of gadgets, clearly modeled after flying birds. They all appeared to work as well.
As she looked over the edge again, she squinted into the distance. Weren't those floating islands?
Well, it wasn't hard to put two and two together.
Taking one of the machines, she found some sort of crank and figured out how to work it to power the machine up. Except that she had done it too hard, and the glider machine thing seemed to deflate.

It was actually surprising how cold the wind was. Sarviur had liked the water, but the wind seemed to bite at his cheeks as it buffeted him about, and he did not like that. When would this be over?

With a shrug, she deiced that maybe this thing was already ready to fly without doing anything to it, so she hopped into it and was able to jump off when she realized...yeah, this thing wasn't going to work.
She was quick to bail before she was sent over the cliff herself.

She tried again with another one, winding up the launcher and then hopping into the machine. Apparently she had done it right this time, as she was suddenly sent flying into the air.
"YEEAAAHHH!" She cried out. This felt fantastic! And strangely familiar...

It was really easy to fly, she realized. All she had to do was to move her body, and the glider responded. Though looking down she felt her gut clench at the large expanse of water. She really didn't want to crash...
As she looked around at the scenery to take her mind off the height, she wa sable to hear strange voices. Were they voices of ones who had attempted this before? One of them spoke to her, and while she didn't understand a word, it made her feel peaceful, more sure of herself.

Again the voice spoke to her, giving her confidence in her ability. She was able to move with such precision that she could feel the voice was smiling at her. She sighed happily, grinning as she flew onwards.

The voice stayed with her, continuing to help her out until she had reached the edge, were the water began to disappear

The wind buffeted him, harder and harder, and he sank into the fog...
He'd been too cocky, this time. Sarviur would simply have to try again. He blinked groggily as he found himself back where the gliders had been found. Maybe they could wait, though. That wind had been cold.

As she was nearing the floating island, a blast of wind buffered her glider. Swearing, she struggled to keep it steady as she glided onwards.

Rusekop then shivered as she felt another blast of air hit her from below. It was freezing, and made her gliding just that much more difficult
