The Crime What happened? ((I am a terrible Journal upkeeper. crying This is summarized, narative style because I only remember this vaguely. )) Nomia's power is her voice. She's got a magical Siren's voice which means when she sings, she can cause things to happen. She has a powerful influence over the mind's of pae'il when she sings above water (not so much underwater, as her singing voice is used mainly as communication).
Her friend Rain was in dire straights and she wanted to help him, so she knowingly went against what the Guardians told her not to do. She sang to show Rain where she came from. She did not know the pae'il language at the time and only knew how to communicate with song. However, being only a teenager AND brand new to the mortal plain, she didn't know how to control what she did and she ended up altering some of Rain's memories. He had forgotten important people in his life, including one of his best friends.

The Punishment The aftermath http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10685970&page=2049#951097904Quote: The last couple of months were no picnic for the poor teen faerie, Nomia. First the whole mess with her disobeying the Guardians on her first day as a pae, then the fight with the strange pink and blue girl in the clearing, then getting lost in the huge Manor and THEN the Guardians finding out about how she had messed with another Pae's mind, erasing important information.
Nomia's actions were not going to go unpunished. The Guardians banned her from entering the Manor ever again, as that building seemed to be the source of her disobedience. In addition, they did not want her to associate with the young man that she committed her crime against. They seemed to not have mercy in matters of the heart, when Nomia pleaded, saying she cared about Rain.
The Guardians had high hopes for Nomia, but she had let them down on her first day. They were not happy, and Nomia needed to learn there are consequences for her actions.
So, Nomia had no where to live, and she couldn't bring herself to enter back into the water that she once called home. She felt guilty, and bitter at the same time. So for the last couple months, she'd made shelter in a little shanty off the side of the beach, just inside the treeline, hidden from view. She distanced herself from others, but sat, and observed, so she could learn more about the world above the water. http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10685970&page=2076#1003865933Quote: The time for self-pity was over. The time to get over it, and move forward with her life was just starting. It wasn't in her character to dwell on bitterness or mope because of what happened.
But being in the strange place, without anyone was hard on the faerie teen. She'd made herself an antisocial recluse, while she delved deeper into self-pity.
But not today! Today was the day she would start new! She'd observed the pae'il around, picking up words and phrases here and there. Watching how they interacted with each even.
Today, she was going to be the old Nomia, the one that existed before Rain.
Taking a deep breath, she walks onto the beach, towards the waters she once called home. Facing her past was the first step in moving forwards she had decided. She would not waste this chance she had been given. Not any more http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10685970&page=2076#1003989461Torvil Today had NOT been a good day for brooding sociopath known as Victor. He decided to head to one of the few places to help him focus his thought processes. The lake. With a sigh, he started up the beach his hand shaking as he was trying to get over not having acess to acholhal for the past few days. Because of the shakes, he's been unable to snag any food for the last day or two, and he was hungry.
He refused to go to the HQ and eat, he needed to iron out ANY weakness left in him. Since the kids had been born, and he'd grown soft, he felt he needed to redeam himself somehow.
When he saw he wasn't the only person left on the beach he decided that he might as well try to start a conversation. "Hey," He called to the teen who was walking towards the water. Quote: Nomia was caught offguard by the greeting, even though she'd prepared herself for interaction. "H..hello." She squeaked out. Wow, the sound of her voice surprised her. She hadn't heard it in months, because she's not had anyone to really talk to.
She had stopped advancing towards the water, standing still where she spoke.

The DiscoveryRebirth of the Naiads http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10685970&page=2120#1009269629Quote: Strolling along the water's edge, heading towards the mouth of the river, Nomia silently just watches the waves as they reach up, barely touching her feet, and just as quickly, receding back. The wet sand felt good on her feet. She smiled a little, finally forgetting some of the pain she'd felt for the last few months.
The nearer she got to the river, the more she seen something a little out of place. A dam? why? It wasn't really naturally needed on this isle. Naturally curious and partially because the waterways were her charge, she went to see what was up.
When she spotted the bright, pearl-like eggs, her heart skipped a beat. "Oh no!" she gasped, seeing the Naiad eggs that were supposed to be safe in their under water cave, resting until the Guardians .... wait ...was she so wrapped up in herself, her own grief and self reprimand, did she miss the signs? She felt incredibly guilty now.
Reaching into the water, gently pulling out the beautiful little pink and yellow egg, she brushes her fingers over lightly. "The chosen few." she whispered, watching the egg.
After a few moments of admiring the egg, she looks over the remaining few in the nest and smiled. She knew her heart had finally been healed, as her greater purpose had just made itself known.
Feeling like the world had been lifted from her shoulders, it was a very spiritual experience for Nomia, to see these eggs which she had protected for so long. It was almost a Mother's love she felt for each one.
With a small, comforting smile, she put her hand in the water, barely touching the remaining eggs with her finger tips, before standing, with the pink egg still in her arms. She knew they'd be hatching very soon and she'd wanted a hand in raising one of the first Naiads to be hatched in this Age.

Since assuming the role of the hatchling Naiad's new caregiver, Nomia's heart had started to soften once more. While she still harbored the bitterness towards the Guardians, she didn't let it run her life anymore. There were more important things now on the forefront of her thoughts. Mainly that beautiful little baby that had only recently said her first word: Momma.
However, each day was no walk in the park. She didn't know how to be a mother, even if she was previously the guardian of all the lake. It didn't involve screaming hatchlings and feedings at all hours of the night. Nor worrying if the little swimmer would be eaten or get hurt. As the Lake Guardian, she couldn't so anything stop the cycle of life, but as a mother, it was a different story.
When the stress would get to her, she'd dissappear sometimes, letting little Lethe just sleep in her bed in the water, safe from predators and threats. At least, Nomia had hoped. She took the chance tho, because she did need her alone time still. The time to calm herself down.
Sometimes she'd venture to the forests, a small part of her hoping to encounter a sister or brother, but she didn't know if they'd 'awaken' yet or not. But she did hope.
Her timing must have just been off, because nothing seemed different to her, and she never did see her siblings, despite the awakening of 3 of them already.
