Lucius was near the new city, somewhere in the area of the river that ran up to it, walking his way down up the beach toward the river. He was on a rather long walk today, wanting to take the time to let his mind wrap around the things he'd been trying to study as of late. He didn't know why he'd decided on such tough subjects, but lately he'd felt like the more work he did the better, but today he needed a break!
So he took a walk, and was trying to get his mind to settle down and rest! Shaking his head he sighed, and looked at the sand, wondering how many grains of it there were on this stretch of the beach, on the whole of the beach... Both beaches... The Island?
He would never know and could never guess, an unanswerable question. He hated those.

In a rare, awkward moment, Nomia was actually relaxing. She was meditating, in the best way she knew how actually. To any other Pae'il it would look very strange, but to her, it was nirvana.
She was laying on her tummy, with her legs relaxed on the sand behind her. Her toes actually had made themselves a nice little trench to rest in. She was facing the water, actually having her upper-body mostly submerged in the water. The water as rather calm today, so there wasn't many waves to disrupt her concentration.
Her arms were stretched out on both sides and her head was barely over the water so she could breath. Her eyes were closed and she was letting the feeling of the water just embrace her. It was very zen for her, because it allowed her to feel save with her legs on the land, but yet feel the tranquility she remembered from the water. Since getting her pae'il body, she'd lost her ability to swim and breath underwater, so she'd developed a rather serious fear of being totally submerged. But this seemed like a happy medium for her.

When Lucius spotted Nomia; which took a small bit of time, since he really wasn't looking to find another person, and instead trying to clear his head much like Nomia was doing; he tilted his head and his brow rose a few inches as he tried to figure out what on earth Nomia was doing.
Walking slightly faster, just in case the girl was beginnning to drown, or had been washed up, though her position showed that wasn't the case, he spotted that her head was infact above water, and calmed down.
When he got into earshot, he waved and shouted out. "Hello!"

Nomia wasn't expecting anyone, and the voice shouting at her startled her out of her transe. Startled her so much in fact that her head went dipping into the water and she started to panic, not liking that feeling of the water going in her nose. When she tried to scream the instant her head went underwater, she got a healthy serving of lakewater in through her windpipe and at that moment, she really did start to panic. Her arms flailed in the water, but her brain was already in its primal stage and didn't realize she just needed to sit up.

"Oh hell!" Lucius started running, moving quickly over to Nomia's side. Grabbing her by the shoudlers, well, fighter her thrashing arms in the process of grabbing her shoulders and taking several smacks to the face, he lifted her up and tugged her back, and started trying to flip her over so that she didn't drown oh him.
Like hell he was going to let someone he startled drown!

Nomia coughed and hacked trying to get the water out of her lungs and it took a few minutes for her to finally realize she was out of the water and laying on the beach face up now. Her chest was heaving and it hurt. Her throat was hurting now too and she was gasping to catch her breath finally.
She didn't start focusing until her breathing calmed down a bit and she seen ... a boy? had pulled her from the water. She mouthed the words 'thank you' but no sound came out.

Lucius nodded but shook his head quickly and placed his fingers gently to her lips, not really touching. "Don't try to talk..." He got his arm up under her back, and started to lift her up into a sitting position, gently rubbing her back, then patting it every now and again to make sure all the water had gotten out of her lungs. He'd feel so bad if she caught a chill, cold, or worse from this 'accident'.
He dedcided to keep mum on the fact that he was the one that had probably caused her to freak out and half drown anyway... Maybe she'd figure it out, maybe she wouldn't, but he'd rather not strain this meeting anymore than it already was.
Not really noticing how cute she was, he handled her with care, since well, she'd nearly drowned, it would dawn on him soon enough, but right now his first concern was her health.

Nomia coughed again, and accepted his 'nursing' care to help her. Though the minute she heard his voice, she felt that quick thump-thump feeling in her chest like she'd felt that day she'd first seen Rain. It felt her body with a weird tingle, but she liked it.
She breathed deep, still sporadically coughing till she was able to calm down. With one final deep breath, she tried talking again. "Thank...you." Even with her special, sweet sounding voice, that 'thank you' sounded awfully froggy.
She shifted herself, so she was on her knees with her hands in the sand in front of her. Her head was lowered a bit, and she turned to finally get a good look at her 'hero'.
Her eyes went all starry as she noticed the incredibly cute faery boy. Her lips, with a mind of their own, curved into quite the smile.

Lucius had seen a smile like that before, and the thought that came to his mind was, Nice smile, reminds me of Kethara... Shaking his head a bit he smiled back, in that kind way that people do. "You're welcome," He reached out and patted her back. "You okay?"
He wanted to make sure she was perfectly fine. He would feel terrible if she got sick after this little episode, so he would watch her for a little bit to make sure she was okay.
That and her smile reminded him of Kethara. So it was worth being around her for a little while...
