ANNOUNCEMENT

Due to realizing that people seem to having difficulties with the concept of this game, I'm going to take the opportunity to explain the rules/concepts a little more.

01 : ROLLING
EVEN NUMBERS = SUCCESS, ODD NUMBERS = FAILURE/FAKE FIGURINES!!
Okay, this is the most basic concept to these games, so it should cover most of the problems. When you roll a die in order to get an even or odd number, this determines whether your character successfully finds a true demiguise figurine. THESE ARE HIDDEN UNDER DEMIGUISE FUR, AND ARE THUS INVISIBLE. Your character needs to get creative with their hunting methods; they are very unlikely to find a real figurine by simply stumbling upon it. They could theoretically find a figurine that was not invisible, but it would be a fake!
Along the same lines, PLEASE INCLUDE THEIR SUCCESS OR FAILURE IN THAT SAME POST. The general method is that you roll the die, submit a reserved post, then go back and write the roleplay response in tune with whether the student succeeded or failed in the current hunt. However, YOU ARE WELCOME TO CREATE A SECOND POST FOR THE RESULTS IF YOU LIKE, but please try your best to do it very soon after you discover what number you rolled. This is to prevent people from seeing your post and thinking that you have just decided that your student succeeded.
A STUDENT MAY ONLY LOOK FOR ONE FIGURINE PER TURN, REGARDLESS OF SUCCESS OR FAILURE. Please do not keep posting with the same student that keeps finding figurines. You are free to decide if you want to make separate posts for each student, or if you want to condense all your participating students into one post (and thus roll multiple die at once - however, please determine which number applies to which student and keep with that order!).
Regardless if you use separate posts, there should only be one roll per student per round!

If there are any other issues, please feel free to message me or The Feeling is Gone to get it straightened out. We want this to be fun, not confusing!

Normally Damien wasn't too interested in Care of Magical Creatures class, but whatever was on the end of the chain had him curious. He was standing a little ways away from the main group, on the edge. What interested him the most was the dust that was poured to reveal the shape of the demiguise. He wondered what it was made out of and was tempted to ask the professor.

Before he could ask, the professor announced a game to go with the lesson. An invisibility cloak, huh? He was sure it would be useful, but he didn't see how having one would affect him, though it would make it so much easier to go after the others who thought they could take advantage of those that weren't pure bloods.

When the professor gave the opening word, Damien walked as everyone else ran passed him. He decided to start in the grass first. If he found one of the figurines, great. If not, oh well.

Marc pulled the statue from his perch and smiled. Well that was cool. He glanced up and waved the statue lightly laughing at kenny whos statue blew up in his face. Well he got it.

Matty was on his hands and knees, digging through a pile of hay when he felt something solid against his hand. He grabbed whatever it was and grinned when he found a little monkey statue in a small pile of hay. Upon picking it up, however, instead of staying still, it sprayed him in the face with silly string before disintegrating. He pouted before wiping the silly string off and continuing his search.

His choice to look in the plants around the game keeper's house appeared to be a good one. Rory had managed to find a small stick and was using it to run through the dirt. When he felt the stick collide with something, he bent down to see what it was. When he couldn't see it, he felt around before feeling something cold against his palm. He curled his hand around it and picked it up. Once he was sure it was one of the figurines he was supposed to be looking for, he smirked and pocketed the small statue before moving on.

As Damien was walking, he felt something sharp poke the bottom of his shoe. He stepped back and looked down to see what he had stepped on. He looked down but he didn't see anything so he went to keep walking on. As he set his foot down again, he felt something poke him again. He bent down once again and ran a hand over the grass before pulling something up. He wondered if it was one of the figurines they were supposed to be looking for. He picked it up and rolled it in his hand, waiting to see if something strange would happen to him like had happened to others. When nothing strange happened to him, he held on to the figurine and kept walking.

Francis wasn't too wild about the idea of a scavenger hunt outdoors, but his father had insisted he try it this time. The last school event he had been so sick from his asthma and allergies that he had been in the infirmary for a good week. This time however, his father had sent him some muggle medicine that he thought might help him.

So far he hadn't had an allergy attack; though it was still really damp out so that was helping. He was one of the later arrivals so he didn't really have to wait long for Professor Foster to go into the details of the game. He was rather surprised that they'd be searching for demiguises and a bit puzzled by it. He was relieved when the Professor explained about that as well.

He was a bit startled when the Professor yelled. "Go!" Suddenly it was chaos and mayhem around him. Francis froze and closed his eyes as his life flashed before his life. Finally..the yells and trampling feet faded and when he opened his eyes he was all alone in the field. He sighed in relief and then slowly followed the trail of footprints to the area around the hut.

He knew that the figurines weren't going to be out in the open, this was a scavenger hunt after all. So he decided to check out the garden area, there were plenty of places to hide them in there. Francis pulled his wand out deciding to use a water spell to help him find the invisible demiguises as the thought of handling dirt sickened him. He started blasting small shadowed areas in the garden, thinking that they'd be hidden in those areas.

Francis was suddenly hit by a burst of gas from a small grassy area and he made a disgusted face. "Gross! I must have hit a dud!" The stench was getting heavier and worse as the wind blew it in his direction. "Great..now I'm going smell like a skunk!"

ABEL SAUVETERRE

Abel came to the meeting a bit late; there was already a good-sized crowd assembled and the professor had begun to talk. Thankfully, he managed to get the idea of the challenge. The prospect of winning an invisibility cloak was amazing! He wasn't entirely certain what he would use it for, but the idea of having one was exciting. He glanced around at the crowd, hearing murmurs of excitement from many others around as well, and sort of wondered who would win if he didn't. But it wasn't as if you needed to have a certain strategy; finding an invisible figurine was all about luck!

He nearly jumped out of his skin when the teacher announced the start of the race, and as students bolted and cackled with excitement around him. He was left in a bit of a daze as they rushed to and fro, and flushed a little in embarrassment. He decided to look wherever he was closest to, which happened to be the gamekeeper's hut. The boy moved slowly, looking for anything strange, before letting out a sigh. This just wasn't working. Something shimmery caught his eye, though, and when he moved closer, it appeared to be the silhouette of a demiguise figurine! It looked like it was covered in pixie dust or something; perhaps a student had missed it when they were looking? Grinning, he bent to touch it, and promptly cursed quite loudly in French. It sprang up and squawked at him, morphing into a bird before flying away. When he'd recovered, Abel let out a sigh and brushed a piece of hair out of his face, continuing on her search.

Zennah wondered why she bothered with this, since she disliked most of the others around her. Then again, she wasn't exactly the most personable, even for a Slytherin. Ah, well. The professor spoke up and she was reminded. An invisibility cloak. She smirked. That could be so much fun... At any rate, they were sent off to find these figurines. She came closer to a bush and stuck her booted foot under it, feeling around a little lazily for something that ought not be there.
~
Her foot hit something and she leaned down to pick it up. Unfortunately, she managed to find a dud on her first try. "Great," she muttered as orange dye stained her hands and boot.

Adelia giggled as she waited for the hunt to begin. She was SO excited about this! She didn't even really care about the chance for an invisibility cloak (though it sounded really neat!), she just wanted to take part in the hunt and maybe make some new friends. On the 'go,' she immediately dropped to her hands and knees and went searching for a figurine.
~
Humming softly to herself, Adelia dug around bushes and pens. Suddenly her hand hit something and she grabbed it excitedly. Before she knew it, a bat shaped puff of smoke flew into her face. She squeaked in surprise, but didn't realize the puff of smoke gave her a bat shaped mask over her eyes.

Aoide pushed her glasses up on her nose as she fidgeted, listening eagerly to the professor. Of course she knew what a demiguise was; her sister was a magizoologist and that was also her own dream job. Her hand shot up but she was denied the chance to answer when the professor continued speaking. The scavenger hunt might be hard, but she would try if only to learn more about the animal that gave its fur for such a prized item. If by some stroke of luck she won the cloak, her sister would be so jealous! With a quiet giggle, she went to work looking for a figurine.
~
Climbing onto a tree branch, she reached around hoping to find something. And find it she did. Before she could blink, a small snake had wrapped itself around her wrist! She gasped softly, eyes widening behind her glasses, but she quickly recognized it as a non-venomous and mostly friendly species. With a small, tenuous smile, Aoide helped the snake back onto the tree before sliding back down.

((OOC Note: First die will be Zennah's roll, the second is Adelia's, and the third is Aoide's. I will keep it this way all through the event :3))

The rush of cool wind hit Alois like a hammer when he exited the school and headed in the direction of the whereabouts of the Care of Magical Creatures class. He frowned when he saw that he had almost arrived late but shrugged when he saw that he wasn't the only slacker that morning. When the professor spoke, his voice booming over the students surrounding him, he smiled and raised his hand when asked what a demiguise was. Of course, Alois had read up on what the creature was a while ago, but he didn't think it would be brought up during his time at school.

What made him more excited was the idea that he could own an invisibility cloak. He wasn't sure what he would use it for but to just have such a rare item in his possession would keep him satisfied. Alois smiled as he set off in a random direction to search out one of the figurines. He began dragging his feet and sift through soft, dew covered grass in case any had been hidden. He was on the edge of the gamekeeper's house trying to spy one with his eyes while his feet worked at the ground below him. Feeling a small jar in his foot, he flinched and bent down to see one half buried in the ground. He used his hands to dig it out, finding it in there pretty deep.

Addition:

Alois hesitantly pulled it out of the ground after seeing what some of the false miniature statues had done to the others. He lifted it up to his chest and smiled at it. He let out a relieved and satisfied smile when nothing happened after holding it for two minutes. He smiled triumphantly and stood in wait for the next round.

Marcelyn had been one of the first to arrive at the grounds where they would be having their Care Of Magical Creatures class. She had briefly seen the demiguise when the professor had done what he had. She hadn't been one of the few who raised their hands when he asked what the creature was, but she was really interested in it. She was more so interested in the fact that the creature could make an invisibility cloak.

She could definitely use it. She would enjoy playing a few pranks on the Gryffindors and maybe a few on the other houses. With a mischievious glint in her eyes, Marcelyn set of toward one of the animal pins. She was tempted to get on her hands and knees but didn't want to degrade herself. She walked up to the fence surround a few animals and began to feel and look around the posts and wood. Her eyes set themselves on something reflecting light, and she looked at it skeptically.

Frowning, she found that it wasn't something she was interested in. She picked it up anyway, it was an old, dirty mirror. She shrugged and turned to search elsewhere when she suddenly found herself falling. She landed with a loud thump. Frowning, she turned her head to see that nothing was there. She didn't think that things would be easy, so she pushed herself off the ground and patted her hands on the ground where her feet had been. Her hand hit something and she pulled it out of the ground unaware that it could possibly blow up in her face.

Addition:

Marcelyn smiled, feeling triumphant until she felt the figurine shake in her hand. She flinched when she heard a small explosion and felt something splash onto her skin. After a half a minute, she finally had the courage to open her eyes only to find her hands cover in white. She quickly pulled out the mirror she had found and, much to her dismay, found that white paint and red lipstick had cover her face to make her looked like a muggle clown. She pouted before finally standing from the ground. Sighing, she said to herself, "There are more rounds ahead, Marce. Take it easy, girl. Don't let your blood boil so fast..."

( Rolling for both Charlie and Sverre; Charlie's first and Sverre's second. o3o )

You could only learn so much from a book.

Charlie learned this early on.

You could read something over and over, memorize it, visualize how you interpret it. But it was never the same as seeing it with your own eyes.

Curiosity had mostly led the Gryffindor here to this event. She had arrived just a few minutes before the professor had started explaining, had listened and watched. And now here she was, wrapped in her robe and scarf, kneeling, searching for something invisible. A small, amused smile appeared on her face as she searched the ground near a tree, emitting spurts of smoke from her wand for help.

A moment later a small trail of smoke looked as though it was lightly blocked from flowing. Blinking, she immediately reached for it with her free hand. As her hand closed around it, the invisible object dropped its elusive covering to show her that it was a small figurine of a cat with mischevious red eyes, before bursting into black smoke. Charlie blinked for a moment, and waved her hand to disperse the smoke, frowning.

"Darn."

As she spoke, something green on her shoulder caught her eye. Freezing, she slightly turned her head to get a better look, and gave a relieved sigh. It was just green hair.

She blinked as her brain caught up and started connecting the two. "Wait.. Green..?" Gently tugging at the hair, she was slightly startled to feel it connected to her head.

"Oh no.."

She grabbed some of her hair and started inspecting it. The green looked familiar, it reminded her of.. "My eyes!" she quietly gasped. The object she had just grabbed turned her lovely black hair the same shade of green as her eyes! No wonder it burst into smoke; it was a trick!

Siobahn tugged her scarf closer around her neck as she made her way across the Hogwart's grounds. It was a bit chilly this morning, so she was grateful for the fact that she had worn thick tights today. Otherwise her legs would have been half frozen by the time she joined the other kids that had gathered on the lawn.

She slowly made her way into the crowd of kids, hoping that the closeness of the other kids would keep the cold winds out and keep her warm. She wished she had a friend in the crowd she could sidle up to and leech off of their warmth. Still it worked well enough.

Sibby was only half paying attention to what the professor was saying, but her head snapped up when he mentioned the demiguise. She had just been reading about that creature in her book of magical creatures the night before! She couldn't help but squee with delight when the professor let them see the outline of the demiguise. She could just imagine how soft it's hair was. She wished she could pet it,but knew that would probably not be a smart thing.

"I really don't need an invisibility cloak, though maybe it would keep the Slytherins from picking on me so much." She said to herself.

She wasn't prepared for the group of kids to run around like crazy and squeaked in alarm. Finally when the lawn had cleared, Sibby pried her fingers from her eyes and looked around and sighed in relief. She dusted off her clothes and made her way towards the keeper's hut to look for one of the demiguise statues.

Addition
She pulled out her wand and started looking around the hut and tried to avoid the areas where other kids were looking. Which meant there really wasn't that many empty areas. She spotted a stump that had a small hole in it, just about the right size for someone to have hidden one of those statues in. She used a water spell and say a slight glimmer of something.

"Could it be? Really?" She asked herself feeling rather elated about having found one so easily. She reached in and picked it up and did a little triumphant dance when the demiguise fur fell off to show the slouched furry monkey figure. She waited a few moments, holding her breathe hoping that it wasn't a dude. When nothing happened after two minutes she gulped in fresh air and smiled happily. She had found one!

((Rolls are for Louis, Aeron, and Nerine in that order. Responses will be brief as I'm going to be gone for the first two rounds

All three succeeded))

Louis
He'd heard of a demiguise...only because he'd heard of the cloaks made of it's fur. The creatures themselves held no interest beyond that to him. Then again he wasn't much into animals in general, except for Nero his owl of course. The task seemed simple enough. Find the statues that looked like big hairy apes. Woo. Exciting. At least it was little effort for a great reward. He wasn't sure what he'd personally do with an invisibility cloak. Louis wasn't a trickster or troublemaker. He wanted it though. To be the kid allowed to have an invisibility cloak... There was status in that. Status Louis deserved.

He didn't rush when the teacher released them to hunt though. Let the others grab the obvious fakes, he sauntered through the woods, gently kicking and scraping at the ground with his feet until finally he uncovered something.

With a satisfied grin he picked up the miniature ape. Seeing as it didn't react immediately to his touch he felt safe in assuming it was a real one. Louis tucked it into his cloak pocket.

Aeron

This was Aeron's favorite class. He listened attentively as teacher spoke. His bright eyes stared in facination as the dust settled on the creatures fur. He was actually disappointed when the hunt for little statues was announced. He wanted to know more about demiguises! Aeron had no interest in invisibility cloaks... He was reluctant to leave the creature's side when the rest of his class ran off on the hunt. Aeron found luck was on his side though as he noticed a flattened spot of grass. Reaching down he encountered something strange feeling in the air before his fingers folded around something solid. As he raised it out of the pile of invisible fur it took shape. A demiguise in perfect detail.

Jane wasn't sure why she had gotten out of bed at such an ungodly hour, especially on the weekend. Man..why was it they had to do these stupid events so early? Couldn't they wait until afternoon? That way kids could actually enjoy their days off and sleep in.

She stiffled a yawn behind her hand and pulled down on her dress cloak and glanced around. Seemed like everyone else was either bright and eager, or still waking up like her. Which made her feel even more sour. She rolled her eyes at some giggling gryffindor girls and tapped her foot impatiently. When was this thing going to get under way?

It seemed as though Professor Foster had read her mind, for a few seconds later he called the kids to attention and began to explain why they were all there. She perked up fat the mention of the demiguise and an eager look came into her eye. She already had an idea of what prize would be given out before the Professor revealed it. After all it was made out of the creature's fur. She smirked when the Professor confirmed her idea.

An invisibility cloak would definitely come in handy. Especially with the type of work she'd be doing for Vonali Darix. It would make her job much easier, though if she did win it people would know it was her. Drat. Maybe she could pass it along to someone else that could be a spy, then people wouldn't know that it was her. She'd have to win the scavenger hunt first though.

She was rather glad that she had stayed on the outside of the milling crowd of kids because it gave her an advantage when the professor told them to go search. She didn't run, but she did briskly trot across the field, well out of the way of the chaotic rampage that issued forth.

Addition
Jane could see that quite a few kids were already around the keeper's hut and decided to look around the pens instead. She couldn't help but laugh at the foiled attempts that the other kids were going through. She knew there was a likely chance she'd find a dud herself, but figured she had pretty good chances of finding a real statue as well.

She edged past a few kids that were searching around one pen and flicked her wand out of her cloak pocket and glanced around for a spot no one had covered yet. She spotted a spot near the keeper's supply shed that no one had bothered to look. It was true that Professor Foster had said they'd be by the pens and the hut, but it was also likely that someone had thought to be smart and hide one there as well.

She made her way over, ignoring the taunts that followed her by a few gryffindors and flicked water spells over the area in slow methodical fashion. Finally after about a dozen or so tries, her water spell uncovered a statue. With a bright grin, Jane reached down and picked it up and looked it over.

"Success." She grinned broadly. Then she stashed it into her cloak pocket and started looking again.
