Was this over the internet or in real life? Either way, how unprofessional and immature of that woman. I would hate to think of how she treats her customers who come in looking for guidance only to be accused of rape and torture (wtf). Not to mentioned threatened with being reported for animal abuse for doing something incredibly common and widespread.

Personally, I'm hesitant to use a laser, because I have experience with one of my family's dogs becoming a little bit neurotic over shadows and reflections on the wall. I don't know if she still does it or to what extent, but I dunno if I would play lasers with my future dogs. My cats haven't shown any signs of that behavior, though. Once it's done, it's done, so I feel pretty safe bringing it out occasionally.

But anyways, I think people should be aware of what can happen, but going as far as accusing people of torture and rape (again, wtf on that lady's part) is out of line. Not only is it not even comparable, but insulting people is no way to bring them over to your side. That's just going to make people disregard you and whatever you're saying.

I see it a lot on the internet. Feeding your dog a grocery store food? "OMG, you moron!! Do you WANT your dog to die?!!?!! If you don't know that those foods are bad you don't deserve to have a dog!! Your dog should be taken away and you should never own another one again!" Right, and how is that approach workin' out for ya? Don't have to handle them with kiddie gloves or sugarcoat everything, but downright insulting them will just make them dig their heels in and discourage them from seeking information to make better decisions. Everyone loses. But now I'm just rambling. xd

Oh wow, so it was sort of both. Gosh, you would think someone who runs their own business would want to maintain their dignity and composure when it's attached to their face and full name, haha.

But actually, I believe it. I was looking at local vets, and one woman ran her own cat clinic. She had an incredible amount of negative reviews about how condescending and mean the woman was. Several different reviewers said she actually yelled at the owners until they cried, for things like not feeding her recommended brand, or questioning whether certain procedures and tests were necessary. Apparently she would routinely accuse her customers of not loving their cats, and threatened to call animal control on a lot of them.

I think she went out of business. Figures. I look to my vet as a guide, and if I don't know something, I'd like it to be informed rather than shamed for not knowing it in the first place. I go to the ones I trust, and I trust the ones who take the time to explain things to me so I can be the best owner I can.

ick. my old vet and i would get into light arguments about brands of cat and dog food. he always felt insulted when i insulted science diet. im sorry, the food is crap and im not going to feed a dog who has allergies to grains and corn a big bag of corn. i told him i was feeding my dad and sister's dogs evo and he thought i was insane

my new vet recomends purina but understands that its not the best. i told her my cats are on evo and my dog will be soon and she was happy about it. she didnt even try to convince me to stay with purina


and its still amazing how many stupid people i meet on facebook when im not part of many groups. i met a very uneducated vegan who actually thought that eating chicken eggs was murder because there are always baby chickens in there. i didn't even try to correct her because i couldn't stop giggling

My poor abused snake. crying How dare I tease her by tapping on her tank and making her try to attack my finger...
Though apparently this year she's actually going into brumation with the other. Both of them are refusing to eat, which NEVER happens with her. And she's not even trying to eat my finger anymore. So I guess I'm not abusing her anymore..

Oh, and my poor cat!! How dare I spin him very fast in the laundry basket until his head bobbles and his eyes go all wobbly!? Even if he is the one who hops into the basket and stares at you, demanding you do it. That's clearly abuse too.

Though I do realize we probably do some things that might actually be considered abuse.. like tickling Tora. Which he HATES. By the end of it, he's usually panting. @_@ But we keep an eye on him afterwards and make sure he's okay

Tora's the male cat, who we spin. Though he's not as fond of being spun on the wooden floor. And Kitty HATES being spun, she gets dizzy too quickly. By the end of a quick spin, she's yowling and hanging on to the side of the basket as strongly as she can. Then she wobbles off to hide. Pretty funny, but we don't do it too often.

*stifles a giggle* See, this is why I don't ever go on FB. xD God forbid I abuse my fish with a laser pointer for all of a minute or so.

I don't have a cat, and lasers don't seem to be Lucy's thing, so I think it's funny to play with fish with a laser pointer. I just wish I had a laser pointer. >w> It's really funny with Tiger Barbs.

Dealing with these kinds of people in real life, though, that's the fun part. x_x I have to just retreat and let them have their way, until they return an animal for the third time and we've already told them what needs to be done, and they obviously haven't done it.
