VK Fox The problem is that Christianity is the default religion. People who do not really have a religion will clam Christianity because it is the biggest, and they don't want to be ridiculed as an atheist, converted, or left out. They don't have any idea of what Christianity is about, but they claim it anyway, giving the rest of us a bad name. Amen, well said.

OK, this is what a good friend of mine stated in her Facebook:
"Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car."
Fake Christians? how about hypocrites disguise as Christians. ANYbody can say they are Christians, just like any body can say that they are an atheist, muslim, or even a dog.
The only difference between saying that your a dog or Christian, is the fact that saying that your a dog is obviously a lie, but if you say your a Christian its hard to tell if its a lie or not because its not as obvious.
That's why when someone say they are a Christian, you believe them at first, but when they're lifestyles are the total opposite, all of a sudden they fall into the "fake Christian" category.
I don't believe the term "fake Christian". Christian means a follower of Christ, and if your not living a Christian lifestyle then your just a liar "claiming to be a Christian"
Being a Christian is not just a "word" it is an action (Its more of an action than a word). Therefore you can say that your a Christian all you want, (just like I can say I'm a dog), but if you don't look, or act like a Christian ( & your not spiritually right w/ God) then in my opinion your not a Christian. Your just a confused person trying to put a label on yourself to fit in.
Therefore don't let these people make you change your mind about God. Because ANYbody can say they are a Christian. There's no sign on your forehead that states if your a TRUE Christian...so until then no one knows who is Christian (by action, not word) , and who's just a liar "claiming" to be a Christian.

You CAN be a Christian while doing bad things. I think that the difference is that, if you are aware that you are doing things that displease God, and you don't feel bad about that, that is when you are being a fake. If you don't take the personal responsibility and try to improve yourself, even if it is small steps, there is a big problem, not just as a Christian, but as a human being.
Please stick up for yourself!

Please stick up for yourself! I agree with the core of what you are trying to say. But in the end, I think Romans 3:10-12 sums what I think: "As it is written: There is none righteous, no, not one; there is none who understands, there is none who seeks after God; they have all turned aside, they have together become unprofitable. There is none who does good, no, not one." Honestly, I don't think it is just trying harder, I think it comes down to the realization that without the saving power of Jesus, we all deserve to be crushed by God. I think being a real Christian is one who acknowledges that they are guilty of their sin and that they deserve death. A real Christian is one who put all their hope in Christ Jesus and comes to full repentance which is marked by a daily submission to God, daily repentance, and continued belief in God.

Lost Journeyer That's how most the world is, i'd say about 90% of Christians i meet... aren't. Sure they go to church every Sunday, and some will even mention being christian outside of church, but they aren't. Their parents were christian and they've been going to church all their lives, and they've got it all figured out; go to church once a week, say your christian, pray for forgiveness often, and live your life however you want with no regard to your once a week obligation to religion. I figured all this out when i was still in middles school, and during eighth grade i stopped attending my parents church because of this, all my 'friends' i would see in church and then at school, it just made me sad for them really. I started going to church a couple towns over (i lived in a very small county, by a couple towns i really the town next to the town next to us, but its more like the across the city if you want to think of it that way) and at this church, the pastor was more on fire for Jesus, and everyone who went to this small church truly knew what it means to be christian. Since I have moved away I still keep in good contact with the pastor, because he's a really good friend, and all the friends i made at that church are closer than any relationships i had made previously, except for my family. My advice for you Hugs, is to find out who is actually christian, and ignore any of those fakes, don't get me wrong I have a lot of non christian friends, but none of them claim to be christian, and even they can tell the difference between me and the 'fakes' as you put it That's what I had to do. I was going to this one church, and I saw a bunch of people there from school...and I know these people, regardless good or not, but one thing I did know, they definitely didn't act Christian in school or out of school, but at church or around their parents they did. Its so stupid.
