"Nope, Sparkles is a regular fox. I'm not really from anywhere, I wander around a lot. Well, not as much as Mom--she's got a whole tribe that wanders everywhere. S'pose you could say I'm from here."
Close enough--Aodh usually moved around a lot from day to day, but he usually stayed in the same general area of the forest and the open plain to the west. His Mom, on the other hand, would go for hundreds of miles. He was even pretty sure she had something about going across the ocean to a whole different land once.
And maybe he thought that was crazy. Just a little bit crazy, though.

Crys grinned at that, obviously impressed. "Really? That's so cool, I'd love to do that - explore and wander, I mean. There's a whole tribe for it?" He grinned again, his tail twitching excitedly behind him. "But...you don't like it, do you? All the travelling, all the time?" He tilted his head curiously up at his new friend - and he did hope that that's what they would end up being - interesetedly. Crys had a somewhat-decent idea of how other foxes worked, and he could tell that Aodh was a little...something when he mentioned his mother and the ocean.
"What's the farthest you've been?"

"Yeah, Mom's tribe. It's the Gypsy Clan, they wander all over the place. Like, for hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of miles. It's crazy."
Aodh tried to remember--he hadn't always stuck around here, he'd gone pretty far with Mom growing up.
"Pretty far north from here, in this really snowy land. Mom said we were by the border of...some tribe. Something with a k. I just remember that they're big on snow, and calm. Kind of like Uncle Ari's tribe, except his is about the moon and calm."

Oh! Crys knew that one! "The Lunarie Tribe!" Crys grinned widely, obviously proud of himself - Crystalize had a terrible memory for names, especially fancy names. "That's your Uncle's tribe? Wowww, that's cool...the other tribe's is...um...Ko...Koesetsu, right?" Crys grinned again, pleased. Two for two, wasn't he?
"Anyways. Are you technically part of the Gypsy Tribe, then?" As he spoke, Crystalize scanned his huge body for some sort of tattoo or marking, something to signify a -if any- affiliation.

"Yeah, Uncle Ari and Uncle Kazuki run it." Aodh thought about the other tribe name Crys had said. "Yeah, Kosetsu sounds about right. Dunno what that's gotta do with snow--you can at least kinda get Lunarie."
Aodh shrugged. It was weird, but he really didn't care that much.
"Nope, Mother wasn't--isn't--part of the Gypsy Clan, so I'm not either. I don't like wandering as much as Mom does anyway. Can't do the hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of miles thing." A moment later, he added. "I'm not part of any tribe--Mom told be about all of 'em, but none of them sounded really interesting enough to join."

Crys nodded in agreement, saying, "Totally, I think the same thing. 'S why I'm not part of a tribe either. Plus, it's just easier being alone sometimes," Sometimes being the keyword. Othertimes, he did wish that he had a tribe or a family.
"Sorry," he said, offering an apollogetic smile for spacing out. "Can't you just fly for the hundreds and hundreds of miles? Or is that not what the tribe's about?" He asked, tilting his head curiously up at Aodh.

"Nah, I can't. Flying's faster than walking, but takes a lot out of you. 'S even worse than running."
That didn't mean Aodh didn't fly a lot--he did. But it had taken him a long while to get into that kind of shape, and he was very pleased with himself.
"And the clan's not really about that, anyway--she calls it a clan 'cause it's like family, you stick together, have each others back, everyone's pulling their own weight, that whole thing. So I'd have to walk the hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of miles if I joined, and that's not my thing.
"Staying in one place isn't the best, but Mom takes it to kinda--" he stopped, and corrected himself, not wanting to say anything bad about Mom "she takes it to a really intense level."

Crys raised an eyebrow, finally unable to contain himself from asking, "What were you gonna say?"
He agreed with everything else he'd said, however, including the flying, except that he just had to take Aodh's word for it, as he obviously didn't have wings himself.
"It sounds like a nice clan," Crys complimented with a smile.

Aodh shook his head. "Something I shouldn't say. Nothing important."
He liked to pretend like he wasn't half-afraid Mom would appear out of nowhere the instant he misbehaved and try teaching him better again.
Not that his fears were completely unfounded--she had done that enough while he was growing up for him to get the point.
"Yeah, it's a cool clan, just not the sort of thing I could join. It's fun to visit when they're doing their yearly reunion thing at their mountain." Aodh then realized she should probably explain that. "They wander all over the place for most of the year, but once a year they come back to their home grounds and have all these celebrations, and it's pretty cool. 'Specially the Entertainers--they tell all these amazing stories about real things and things they made up."

Crys' eyes widened and he grinned as he said, maybe a little too excitededly, "Really? That sounds so awesome, and fun! But what d'ya mean, stuff they made up?" Crys paused and tilted his head curiously up at Aodh. "Well, either way, that sounds so incredible." Crys shook his head to himself, trying to imagine it. "What mountain is it? I've always wanted to see the mountains..." he let out a dreamy, happy sigh and relaxed slightly, then smiled again. "Where's your favorite place to visit, though?"

"Like adventures they made up...kinda like legends and things. Like one was something about how one of them met a yeti once, and those don't exist, so it had to have been made up. But it was still an awesome story."
Aodh was kind of jealous of the Entertainers--they could make up such awesome stories from anything.
"It's the mountain north of here a bit. You can kinda see it from the plain that's over thatway."
Aodh thought about that one for a bit.
"Places I haven't been yet are cool. I've never been to the ocean, even though Mom went once, a long time back, and I'd like to see it sometime," Aodh nodded.

Crys smiled to himself - that was a very good answer. "Yea? Well...well, maybe you and I could explore the beach sometime together. My sister --er, my adoptive sister, sorry-- named Marina's a Carer over at her tribe, called Bateau." Crys nodded, again pleased with himseelf for remembering. "It's on an island, and it focuses allll about water. My broth- --adoptive brother, again-- brother's an Elder too and he took his tribe to visit her once. It was fun." Crys smiled then, happy. "He told some really cool stories too. It'd be lotsa fun to be a - what'd you call it, an entertainer, don'tcha think?"

"Yeah, Mom told me about that one. They've got a ship over there--really big, but not like the one Mom was on." Really, he only remembered Bateau 'cause of Mom and her ship story.
"Who's your brother? What's his tribe?" Aodh was trying to think of all the tribes Mom had told him about, but he couldn't remember any of them, other than Lunarie, Gypsy Clan, and Amores--and that was just 'cause his family were the elders of those.
"It'd be tons of fun to be an Entertainer. If you were good at making up stories." Aodh was not good at making up stories. He wished he was, but he wasn't.

"My brother's Conundrum, of the Enigma Tribe," Crystalize replied, doing his best to keep the pride out of his voice - he couldn't help it, it was so awesome to be related to an Elder.
Then again, Aodh probably knew all about that one - Ari, the elder of Lunarie, was his uncle, and his own mother was an Elder too. Did being part of his family always automatically make you gigantic?
Shaking that thought away before it slipped out of his mouth, Crys continued, "He looks like a puzzle, he runs it with his bestest friend who's name I can't remember. His friend isn't an Elder, though," Nodding sagely, Crys fell silent for a few moments, eying Aodh speculatively.
"Wanna go for a walk or somethin'? Explore? It'll be fun!" Crys grinned hopefully - in truth, he wasn't much for staying still in one place either.

Aodh thought about the Enigma tribe for a bit--he knew what it was about, but he couldn't remember it right now, and it was driving him crazy. He knew Mom wouldn't be happy if she knew he forgot, either.
"That's the one about being smart!" he shouted out a few minutes later, when it finally clicked. Definitely not his sort of tribe. He had nothing against smart people, but he knew he wasn't one of 'em, either. "Dunno who his friend is--Mom just told me about the tribes and their elders, not any...whatever position his friend's got.
"Yeah. We could try walking to the Gypsy Clan's mountain. It'll take a while," he warned, looking down at Crys, wondering how long it'd take the smaller fox to get there.
