Little Bird

She felt them, the fingers pressing into her chest... inch by inch they seared their way into her flesh, putting a mark of invisible taint on her skin.

No one had ever touched her there.

It was almost violating, yes she knew her starseed was at risk each time she fought... but as she grew in power the risk should have lessened, right? She guessed not... when technically she DID just go up against a Negaverse captain... and lost horribly. Still against that very wall he pressed her against she slid down it with a audible thump on the hard ground. Still in her fuku, she noticed the ground was cold.

Why... why didnt he take it? Shouldnt it be just as Karma worked? He claimed to be a agent of karma... she should have seen this coming a long time ago, since she first cradled that tiny life force in her hands... that starseed she was forced to take from the old woman. She blamed nea... and herself for not being strong enough to stop her. She was weak, she was horrible... she was at a loss. She spent her time since then trying to make up for it... but to what avail? What HAS she really done here? Oh sure she's killed some youma and beaten on a particular negaversers a**... but what has this done for the greater good? Would karma one day really come back and bite her?

Lyra curled her arms around her legs as she tucked them into her torso. Why hadn't he taken her starseed. She didn't know why... but something stopped him. Something in his mind against his better judgement told him not to take it. He could have so easily taken it, such a bright light... it was mere inches away from his fingertips... Probably close enough he could feel the warm glow of its light. Zink could have taken it and she would have been removed from this war, a war she had been wondering for some time now what side she was truly on, and if she was on the right side when she chose. Was the Negaverse really...that bad? She was born a senshi.... Chloe would always drill this into her when she first changed. What makes them born a senshi, were they really something different....foreign to this world? All negaversers were humans first.... they were born, bred, and raised on this planet. Were sailors aliens in a humans flesh? If so, Why bring them here? Why stop the negaverse, whom were all meant to be here, from doing what they were born to? Humans were creatures of destruction by nature, did that make them too?

Lyra touched her chest just above where her starseed would have been and sighed. "Who am i?" She whispered to no one gently. Or the bigger question, What are you and what will you become.

She was moving out.

Beth was finally getting the hell out of this....crazy house of horrors. Her aunt had for the most part, made her last few months living here a living hell. When she got the news this morning, her aunt even had the gall to seem excited over her leaving. She had been prancing around the house ever since... choosing to 'celebrate' over a cup of vodka and cheese squares instead of giving the 16 year old girl a hand. If beth could help it... she would never come back here. It was clear now that her aunts priorities were herself and herself only, she even chose to treat her own son like a piece of dirt.

Though, while she was packing her scant belongings (not having much after the fire, a lot of what she owned now was brand new), she couldn't... help but feel a twinge of sadness. While she was so happy to get out of the house because of her aunt... she was not so happy about leaving Zac behind. She had grown closer to him while here. He wasn't around constantly, because he was still in his own dorms, but he was when he could be. She secretly wondered if he was trying to 'save' her from his mothers wrath this time. As she picked up a stuffed animal, she remembered when he got her it. It was...a bit of a inside joke of theirs. He always got pandas, she would always get blue bunnies. Weather it was meant to be for the ice cream, or the care bear, was anyone guess.

All she was certain of... she would miss him. All she really knew about the apartment her father purchased was it was a Three bedroom place... one for him, one for her, and one for a guest. She was already planning on extending the offer for Zac to stay whenever he wishes... when a not so familiar little jingle started to chime on her cell.

"Who could that be..."

Answering the phone... she didnt know the voice. Something in the back of her mind told her she should but... it wasn't until he called her 'daughter' that she understood.

Her father, the man whom she hasn't heard hail or high water from in years, was calling her...today? What could he want? The conversation continued for a few moments... about getting the apartment keys from the front office and how which bedroom was hers. Also about how he apparently purchased a already furnished apartment... and that the stuff was theirs now so feel free to mess it up. (She eyerolled at that).

Though... he continued on and on... as her eyes grew wide and her mouth dropped open. She was speechless, could it...be true? How could.. that have happened... how could...why... But it made sense. His mother.. her mother... the links were connecting in her mind as she chose to stay silent why her father explained.

Only after the conversation did she frantically speed dial her cousin, leaving a voicemail on his cellphone. "Zac? We need to talk." Before she hung up.
