PROLOGUE
Saying goodbye to an old friend... [ Part I ]
A New Chance: Reborn

It was just another regular night, the night breeze blows softly, rustling the trees around the lab. The beautiful crescent moon shies away behind some clouds as Kyou moved around the dark lab. He was just going through the usual things, making sure everything is turned off and shut down properly before he retire for the night. For some unknown reason though, he had this strange gut feeling that the night isn't quite over yet, that something is going to happen soon. What it was, he really have no idea. The clock ticks slowly towards midnight. He stood in the darkness, the lab lights had already been turned off, the generators shut down, the only things left on were the Raevan tanks, which he leaves on all the time. The tanks are empty at the moment, so he don't see a reason to leave them on. With the odd restless feeling still tugging on his heart, he moved towards the tanks to shut them down too. That was when he heard it.

THUMP!!

It was very faint, like it was muffled through layers of doors or wall. Kyou must admit he was shocked a little by such a faint sound. Curious yet afraid at the same time, Kyou moved through the laboratory. Judging from the muffled sound and the direction it came from, he was quite certain that it came from the lab's front doors in the reception. It sounded like someone or something crashed into the thick glass doors. As he exited the lab doors, he saw Lazarus in the corridor, staring towards the closed door to the reception area. He turned around as Kyou approached.

"Kyou, did you hear that?" He asked.

"Yes, I did." Kyou answered, standing up closer to Lazarus. He felt a lot safer and braver having someone else around. "It... came from the reception."

"I was just coming out from the kitchen. Do you think anyone would visit us at this hour?!" Lazarus questioned, he doesn't seem a bit frightened. Although if he was, he's doing a pretty good job hiding it.

Thump thump!

There it was again, it sounded louder and alot more urgent this time. "It's definitely someone at the doors" Lazarus said, moving towards the reception to see who it was.

Kyou just followed suit, unknown of what to expect. He would've made wild guesses that it would be aliens coming to visit him, or it could be a werewolf tricking them, although it wasn't full moon tonight. It could even be just young drunk teenagers playing pranks on them. But as he crossed the reception doors, he totally didn't expected to see the sight before his eyes.

It was Gage, laying on the ground in a pool of dimly glowing goo. His hands were balled into fists and one of it was still attached to the glass surface. Kyou saw him weakly mouthed something as Lazarus rushed forwards to unlock the glass doors. For a moment, Kyou didn't know how to react. He just stood there, dumbfounded as Lazarus pulls open the glass doors and lifted Gage over the shoulder and into the lab, closing the door behind him.

"Gage! GAGE!! What happened??!! KYOU!!! Don't just stand there, come check Gage up!!" Lazarus practically shouted.

This made Kyou snapped back into reality. "I-I... Yes!!" He complied, kneeling down beside Gage as Lazarus laid him down slowly onto the floor. Thick goo was dripping off Gage all the way he was taken in, leaving a small trail on the floor. Kyou really had never seen something like this, it was as if Gage is melting away before his eyes!! Which was true, Gage looked like he had lose a lot of weight, he definitely looked like he shrunk a lot from the liquid loss. Despite the excess amount of liquid shed, his skin looked dry and wrinkled, hugging to what's little left of Gage's body. His face was shrunken, his eyes hollow, his breath was shallow and quick. He looked like he has difficulty breathing. How did he manage to get to the lab on his own, Kyou could not imagine.

Hesitantly, Kyou held onto Gage's face, slapping him a bit to try and get some reaction out of him. "Gage, what happened?" he asked, his voice cracked a little as he try to not break down from the sight.

Gage's eyes were unfocused despite Kyou's gestures, he just stared blankly at the ceiling, mumbling something. Moving his ear nearer towards Gage, Kyou tries to listen to what is saying.

"Ju... lian... Sweet....." Gage mumbled between shallow gasps.

Kyou stared at Gage wide-eyed as he made out what he said. Julian? What had Julian done? Is he in danger? Or did Julian did this to Gage??! Kyou thought, enraged.

"Gage?? GAGE!!!!" Lazarus shouted as Gage's eyes slowly closed. He was drifting away. "No Gage!! Open your eyes!!!!" He practically screamed. But it was too late, Gage exhaled his last breath as his eyes shut.

Gage died.

Tears were rolling down Kyou's face. This was the first Raevan death that he had to witness. He felt like he just lost a child, it doesn't help that Gage was one of the first few Raevans that he created, those were even more special to him. Kyou just knelt there, staring at Gage's unmoving form, his chest wasn't heaving anymore, the rune had completely vanished. The only things that were moving was the goo that was still oozing out around him.

Suddenly, Lazarus got up. He turned around and rushed into the lab as quick as he could float. Kyou just knelt in front of Gage's dead form, bewildered. A moment later, Lazarus burst through the doors with something in his hands. That familiar shape, a SOUL BOTTLE!!!

"L-Lazarus!!" Kyou exclaimed. "You're a genius!"

"I do what I can." Lazarus smiled sadly. Floating lower to Gage's dead body, he carefully placed the soul bottle next to Gage's head. "Let's hope this works." he said, staring sadly at Gage's face. Kyou had never seen Lazarus with that expression before, he looked so gentle, so sad, so wise. He was grateful that Lazarus was able to think quickly in this situation, unlike himself.

"Let's bring him somewhere else, we shouldn't just leave him on the floor like this. The soul bottle might take a while to get something." Lazarus suggested.

"Alright, let's bring him into Tsu's room." Kyou said, wiping his tears with his sleeve. It doesn't take 2 people to carry Gage up however, he was so light that Lazarus could handle it with ease. Shows how much substance Gage lost. With goo still splatting on the ground, they entered Tsu's office and laid him on the examination bed. Kyou placed the soul bottle on a table beside the bed, and with one last glance at the green Frei, they left the room with heavy hearts.

The next morning, Gage's body had evaporated from the bed, leaving behind a huge pile of slimy goo. The soul bottle beside the bed was glowing weakly, a green colored soul swirling lazily within the thick glass.

Saying goodbye to an old friend... [ Part II ]

Five days after the faithful day, five days straight Kyou stayed awake. He sat on his chair, looking rather worn out. His cheeks had sunken, dark shadows formed underneath his eyes, his hair was a mess. For the past five days, he had been examining Gage's remains, as well as writing a detailed report on Raevan deaths. Theories on how it could happen, causes, as well as how they will die. He concluded that the cause for Gage's death was that the fel essence didn't had enough energy to sustain Gage's body anymore. So the most probable cause is that he was starving, for a very very long time. Kyou had been trying to contact Julian, but failing. It was as if Julian vanished as well.

The fel essence failed to sustain the body, so it started to fall apart. The goo that was oozing out of Gage's body was the fel essence dying, seeping out of the Raevan. The way Gage die is one of a kind, every Raevan will die in different ways, depending on their fel essences. Lazarus will probably go up in an explosion, but Kyou prayed to God that will never happen.

Taking a large gulp from his 6th cup of coffee that morning, Kyou stared at the one inch think report that he had written on Raevan deaths. It was fascinating, he must admit. He actually felt kind of lucky that he could witness the process of a Raevan dying. However, to see it happen before his eyes, the experience was very painful. It's all for research. Kyou thought bitterly.

He wobbled a bit as he stood up from his chair, using the table to stable himself. Now that the report is done, there is only one more thing left to do. With a grim expression, Kyou looked at the soul bottle filled with Gage's soul. It's time to give him a brand new start.

With unsteady footsteps, he walked towards a sturdy looking cupboard made out of steel. Unlocking the padlock, he opened the doors to reveal the remaining fel essences that had yet to be used. His eyesight blurred a little as he scanned the cupboard's content. Closing them momentarily, he opened his eyes to concentrate. God I really need some sleep. It took a while for Kyou to decide on a fel essence due to his waning concentration.

Picking the vial out from it's case, Kyou studied the half gooey, half solid substance inside. The dark substance shined a little under the sunlight that was shining through a window nearby. "This should be a good one, Unstable Lead." He mumbled to himself. Kyou felt that it fits Gage, furthermore, this lead is not poisonous, which is a huge contrast from the dangerous Radioactive Goo that was used for Gage. Maybe for once, Gage would be completely harmless to his surroundings.

With a huge yawn, Kyou placed the vial beside the glowing soul bottle, with a small note next to it instructing Lazarus to put them into the Raevan tanks. Then he proceeded to walk to his bedroom, he felt like he could sleep for weeks.

I lied today. It wasn't something I wanted to do but it was to protect Domevlo from accusations. Apparently his being present is going to touch a lot of people and raevans alike. After learning he holds the soul of a past raevan I've come to realize he won't be accepted immediately into the fold. With a personality like his, Domevlo won't easily accept what others see of him. He won't approve of being treated poorly for something out of his control.

Today we met Vyn and her guardian Ethan. They both seemed like pleasant people but under the circumstances I don't think it was the best time for introductions. Vyn was upset, just looking at him upset her so deeply. In turn, the way she treated him and demanded answers only upset Domevlo more. It appears from where I stand there's going to be a lot of questions thrown my way. Without some of the answers to these questions my time here won't be easy but Domevlo is my charge now, I must look out for his well being. No matter what others may preceive of him he's not who they assume him to be... who was this other raevan?

I know he died but what was he to the others? If he held such a hold on them its fair to assume, Domo will be punished for taking his place... no he's not taking the other raevan's place. He's living a new life, this is his second chance. I just wish the others would understand this and give him that benefit. It wasn't Domo's fault for what happened to the other... all I ask for, the thing I pray for night after night is for Domo to have that chance.

Remarks
Today was an interesting day. We went to the mall, Domo demanded to know what an escalator was and how it worked. I myself couldn't help but curiously wonder how he'd be able to get on it. Raevans are such strange creatures and yet, Domo is like a child in almost everything he does. My methods of teaching him aren't easy for some to understand I would imagine but if he gets hands on experience; it should all work out for the best.

Good thing I needed to go shopping. We met another Raevan: Rivener and his guardian Aphismet. Another man with ashen hair like my own though he seemed more surprised by it then me. Can't help likin' the fella, he's quite interestin' to say the least. Rivener on the other hand... upon first meeting he seemed to be sizing Domevlo up, checking him out with those same eyes that Vyn had given him. Although he didn't come off so strong as her, he warmed up to the kiddo nicely enough even gave the boy a reason to sleep at night. Can't seem to get that kid to understand sleeping for a day won't cause instant growth. And after watching the gardening channel he's hell bent on sunlight and water as if he's a flower....

All in all today was a good day. I can only hope the days to come will be as forgivin' as today for my boy.

Xan: My sexy little kid... *purrs*
Gunnar: Should I get one of those large rainbow lollipops? *a bit tartly, sulking still*
Xan: No but I'll gladly substitute you as my lollipop *unphased by his sulking finding it a turn on* <3
Gunnar: *only half-able to resist, arching a brow* ... Hmph. Eat me up, then. >>
Xan: Yes. Eat you up. *nips at* You gonna sulk all day?
Gunnar: I may. Depends on what you say and do to appease me. *eyes Xan, lacing fingers in all that pale hair for a moment*
Xan: *sighs* I saw this coming. So shall I cater to you for the day to make up for it? *licks at his ear* Or will I have to find some place for my new charge to live?
Gunnar: *can't help his lips curving upward in a secretive little smile* I think that the former would do nicely as appeasement... and promise not to ignore me?
Xan: How could I ignore you? *wraps around lovingly* I love you... <3
Gunnar: I love you too, meine liebe... *shifts so that he can bury his face in Xan's neck* ... You know my fears... *regretfully*
Xan: I know that's why I'm asking for your approval overall. I want you both to get along but I want you to know nothing will replace my love for you. Okay? *hugs and kisses softly* I'll keep saying it for as long as you need to hear it.
Gunnar: Danke, Xan... *murmurs it softly, feeling safe now* I will get along fine with your new charge, but I need you.
Xan: I need you too. *hugs*
Gunnar: As long as that is settled. *nearly purrs, and peers up at Xan with veiled blue eyes behind his golden hair* Did you know that I am wearing your jeans again, meine liebe?
Xan: No I just thought you bought a size to long and big around the hips. Nothing wrong with experimenting. *unbuttons the jeans on Gunnar* I'll have those back tyvm.
Gunnar: Ach -- but they look good on me, you know... *wriggles, chuckling a little bit, his usual sunshine coming from behind his pouting*
Xan: They do look good on you but they don't fit you... my boy. *removes the pants flinging them aside* So perhaps we can have some dinner tonight and you can meet him. He's outside declaring war on all bugs alive. *chuckles*
Gunnar: *finds himself dressed only in his briefs, but simply shrugs* Hm. Well, ja, that sounds all right enough, if you plan to find me a new pair of pants. *purrs it, putting his hands on his lean, hips*
Xan: I will find you some eventually. You won't need them for now... *is happy things are going well* What would you like for dinner? *caresses the gold skin with a single digit*
Gunnar: Other than you, meine liebe? Hm... Something bright. With oranges. *he mumbles it softly, blue eyes following that finger*
Xan: Hmm maybe some mandarin chicken. I can throw some oranges in there give it a kick. *continues his upward caress blowing lightly on the trailing skin*
Gunnar: Mmm... ja, that sounds good... Mineral water with lime to drink? *distractedly, he mumbles it on a small, pleased sigh*
Xan: Of course anything for my big boy. *chuckles continuing his lazy attention only to be distracted by breaking glass* Um... ignore it. *hopes it wasn't something expensive*
Gunnar: *winces at the crash* ... Are you certain? Perhaps you should go and look... *does not SOUND like he's suggesting Xan go anywhere, but...*
Xan: Well lets just say he is an attention whore like someone else I know. *purrs lightly growling a little though more at Domo interrupting* Lets just continue.... *CRASH* ...*sighs* I was hoping to introduce you guys at dinner.
Gunnar: ... *he can't help but find this situation mildly absurd, and he snorts, trying to hold laughter* ... A-are you entirely sure this is wise, meine liebe? *chuckles lowly and reaches out to ruffle Xan* ... You are someone's father. Which is odd.
Xan: *sighs standing up but grudgingly* I know but being a father is hard for me to grasp. *leans in for a deep kiss then goes to do his father work* Domevlo what are you doing?
Domo: *brooding in the living room with a mound of dirt and strange little red things crawling all over him* Red things hurt... spray no work! No go sleep!
Gunnar: ... *trying his DAMNEDEST to not laugh, he saunters off to get dressed and pull back his hair for dinner* Good luck, Xan~ *calls over his shoulder before slamming the bathroom door*
Xan: *glares after his lover with a snort* Hey that's not fair to leave me to this.... *sighs and heads for the living room* Domo...*pauses at the damage and vision before him* what the... those are fire ANTS Domo... *rushes to the kitchen for some real raid handing one off to Domo and using the other can himself* Don't bring those things in here... they are pests. You understand?
Domo: *sprays happily* Go sleep go sleep... things hurt! Go sleep!
Gunnar: *after a few moments, he returns, wearing his own damned jeans and a red wife-beater, with a white button-up shirt open and rolled up to his elbows, though still barefoot as he turns to the kitchen* ... How goes it, Xan? *trying not to laugh*
Xan: *glowers* Not funny... *sighs as the last of the ants are sprayed and meets its intoxicated end* Can you get a broom for me Gunnar? *eyes Domo wearily but gives him a ruffle of his white head* Kiddo you are a handful.
Domo: *watches with interest as the ant wiggles and flops before it sleeps* Oooh.. sleep.
Gunnar: *shaking his head and grinning, he turns away, and pads off to the kitchen to retrieve the broom and dustpan* Right away, lover. *amused beyond belief*
Xan: *sighs looking at the damage noticing a window broke* What happened here?
Domo: Throw dirt at wall, it break easy try throw at other wall it break too. *upset at the fragile "walls"* Need strong wall.
Gunnar: *returns with the broom* ... Xan, I think you have some interesting days ahead, meine liebe. *chuckles and offers the broom*
Xan: *smiles softly* I suppose so but it can't be helped. *turns to Domo* I want you to meet someone Domevlo. He lives with us, this is my close friend Gunnar. Gunnar this is my new son Domevlo. *nudges the frei* Remember what I told you when greeting.
Domo: *looks at Gunnar warily* Bright. *holds his can of raid protectively* Domo say hi. *holds out his hand for a shake* You shake, say hi too! *demands*
Gunnar: Hallo, Domevlo. *he chuckles and takes the strange little hand to shake it carefully* I hope we will get along, ja?
Domo: Ja? *repeats* Get long...? *thinks a moment but nods* Get long. Hokay, Ja! *nods*
Gunnar: *chuckles and nods* Good. *looks to Xan* He speaks like a child... he is like one, ja?
Xan: Yes. He seems to pick up on things fast but still can't quite decipher things like an adult. He's childlike it appears. *chuckles at the frei, sweeping up the mess*
Domo: No cill, learn fast. Be best. *nods*
Gunnar: Hm... Well, he seems friendly enough. *lifts a hand to pat Domo's fluffy pale head*
Domo: *makes a face behind his mask then floats off*

After clean up work was put into moving the dirt and fire ants, Xan went about cleaning himself and Domo off. Smiling at the goofy glaze in the Raevan's eyes as his floating form stood near the kitchen sink. The dirt washed off with ease sliding into the sink and down the drain.

"Next time call for me okay? Those things are really pesky." the cowboy informed scrubbing the lead frei's hands. "I don't want you getting hurt like that."

"Pesky?"

"Yes pesky, that means annoying, troublesome you understand?"

"Think so, pesky, hokay!" Domo looked at the dirt swirling in the water down the drain. "Arm hurt."

"Yeah I have some ointment for that to help sooth the pain."

"Oink mint?"

Xan chuckled drying the frei's hands and looking over his arm at the small red marks left by the arms. Taking the frei gently he lead him into the adjecent room giving the poor youngster a look. "Yes ointment. It helps heal and sooth. I'll show you, sit here I'll go get it."

"Hokay."

When Xan returned he had some ointment for bug bites, burns and the like. "This is ointment. It will help with the bites. Let me see your arm." Taking the frei's arm he quickly applied the ointment smiling when Domo gave a frown of disapproval. The ointment had a bit of alcohol in it so there was cause for burn.

"That stings! No want... stop!" Domo shouted pulling his arm away glaring at the cowboy. "You lie! Say oink mint sooth, make feel better... not work."

"Patience Domo, it stings for just a bit." He smiled leaning over to blow on the stinging ointment giving it a cooling effect. "Is that better if I blow on it?" Domo nodded not wanting to admit it too much. "Good. Alright lets get some dinner, what did ya want?"

"Din er?"

"Hmm? I never did ask what Raevan's eat. Do you have anything special you eat Domo?" The frei could only shake his head not particularly sure. He hadn't really been hungry as of late but was feeling a bit, empty of sorts.

"No eat. Just play, x..x suplorer go out see stuff."

"Explore. And yes you can go out but later." For a moment Xan had a thought to call the number he got from Alex but thought better of it. Calling her out of the blue about what Domo might need seemed to him like he were being irresponsible. For now he just accepted his charges words for face value but he was certain the kid would need to eat at some point. "Ah well... better get dinner goin'. C'mon kiddo time for a crash course in cookin'."

It's been a while since I've monitored Domevlo's development. Easily I could say that I was busy that's far from the truth. The truth is he's been running me wild for so long that there's no rhyme or reason to his actions. As if he's just... well ... I don't know. I can't pin him down. Being so used to doing things at my own pace; ever since Domo has come into my life its been one exciting moment after the next with no pause for rest. It's not that I don't like havin' him around, quite the contrary, though it's been a while since spending any time with my housemates. They are two people I couldn't live without so somehow we all live under one roof. How this relationship effects Domevlo has yet to be seen but for the most part it hasn't made one impression on him or another. As if he could care less what I do with my free time so long as my attention returns to him. That makes me laugh. There's about two other people I know where I have that effect; each one with their own demands, though for now... my beloved Tai has been so over worked that I don't see much of him these days. He's been traveling. That's good for his fiery personality, something to keep him occupied. Now if my lazy cat Gunnar would follow suit it would do him some good. Though he's about as needy as Domo and that's saying a lot. They both seem to pull me in two directions, where Domo wants to be out and explore the world, Gunnar wants me to be home and explore... well ... him.

I enjoy both options to be honest but there's only one of me in this world. Too bad I didn't have a twin... or maybe not. Seems there's been some buzz here and there about me but nothing I really care to get to excited about. After learning how to deal with compliments from a certain friend its been easier to just roll with the punches. For now, I have to focus on Domevlo. Sorry Gunnar, Lord knows I love him but the kid [Domelvo] needs guidance. Something tells me he's not all there, or rather he hasn't shown half of who he truly aims to be. It's like when he's unhappy with something or someone. He either lashes out quickly or it comes out in slow deliberate steps. Though the last time it caught me off guard...

It was the time I took him to the park, had to get the dogs out for some air -- he hates those mutts -- poor kid don't know what he's missin'. It was when a young woman came to walk her dog and began a conversation with me. It was a fairly chilly day, so as the gentleman I am, I offered her my coat while we talked (I'm used to the cold). She took my offer and as soon as the coat was on her shoulders it was on the floor. I looked up to find Domo glaring at her then me. He floated away as if nothing happened -- needless to say she scurried off and I was left to pick up my coat. "What's the deal Domo?" I questioned wanting to get to the bottom of this before accusing him of anything. He just shrugged and growled when the mutts came to my side. They growled in unison at him. "Domo talk to me... what's up? You've been like this for a while now... a lot more unusual then normal."

He gave me a crossed look his amber orbs almost glowing as was that strange rune that was hidden within the wisps of his ribbon. He frowned and crossed his arms then snorted. "No like her." Was all I got. Well I'll be damned is that any reason to be so... sudden? I snorted right back at him going into my usual easy gate. No point getting riled. The girl was gone, no apology could be offered so I wasn't going to dwell on what couldn't be fixed. There was one thing I could do, figure this kid out. He was nothing more than a kid but had a body -- well half body -- of an adult, though, you could see the youthfulness as well. They shown in his eyes as he glared down at the mutts -- Pantera and Atreyu (don't ask abou the names best left for another day) -- I rolled my eyes. "Well that's no reason to be mean. I've told you there are other ways to express your displeasure. Didn't I?" He seemed to be considering those lesson but then snorted. I realized he liked to snort when he was uncomfortable. Or was that just something he did with me? He floated off as if the conversation were over or very unimportant. This was one thing I did not condone. Disrespect.

As as he began walking away I turned on my heels, whistled low for the mutts and headed back the way we came. One thing I learned, Domo hates being left behind. He hates being alone and definitely HATES being ignored. As soon as he heard the whistle he knew what was up. I could almost feel him turning with sad and uncertain eyes, much like the mutts often did when I left for work. I could see his equine ears shifted and fall flat to his head, his nose crinkling up as if to defy my actions but then sniffle to hold back emotions he was loathed to admit. He was much like a puppy in the way I could read him -- but even he could surprise me -- I expected him to come floating over in a flurry of ribbons and apologies but he stood his ground. The little bugger. I couldn't help cracking a smile. He was defying me alright. It was the first sign of growth and personality but I wasn't going to let him have his way and kept walking. One thing was certain, I made damn sure that kid knew how to get home. Every way possible; bus, trian, plane, automobile ... it didn't matter. So if I ever truly were cruel enough to leave him behind he'd come home -- assuming that's what he wanted. I sent the mutts to go get him, obedient little buggers just how I liked it. No one in my house disobey me but I didn't treat them like tools either. I just didn't like anyone disrespecting me with or without general cause; not even Domo got away with that and he was the baby of the house. I smiled. Stopped and turned to see him batting at the mutts with his can of raid. He knew better than to spray them. I'd already scared the living hell out of him with the threat of strapping him to a table and spraying the living day lights out of him with his own beloved potion. Needless to say he promised never to spray those mutts. Good enough for me, everyone else better watch how.

When they finally managed to bark him into a fit he gave up and floated over his lower lip pouting at me. He knew he was in the wrong, something was bothering him of course but I wasn't giving him a reason to use that woman as an excuse. That was a tantrum. Thankfully not in full effect. When he came over I just looked at him, he was floating so low to the ground I could reach down and ruffle his ashen head -- and I did. "What do you say?" I urged.

He closed his eyes looked at me with the most pitiful expression he could muster. "Sorry."
"For what?"
"Being mean."
"And?"
He looked at me critically but I just glared at him using the shadow of my Stetson to give off a dangerous look. He cringed shrinking low again. "For tossing your coat on the floor." Not what I was fishing for but we're getting somewhere.
"And?" I pushed.
He looked at me as if that were all but we both knew... I just waited crossing my arms over my chest. We had all day to play this game.
"But--!" I held up my hand stopping him quickly. "Okay! Sorry for dis-x-pecting you." I almost choked on a laugh. His vocabulary was atrocious. We seriously needed to get him to a library and soon. I managed a soft slow smile. He smiled back and to my surprised hugged me around the waist. Well it was nice... being a father... even if the kid was strange on so many levels. I chuckled. No he was unique. Different from the other Raevans and other kids.

"I forgive you Domelvo. Lets get home."

"Hokay!"

♣ War! [ Part I ] ♣
JRP :: Complete

This means war!

I can't believe this little brat destroyed my room like this. As if his tantrums weren't bad enough but seriously how's a man to relax when he had something akin to a Tasmanian devil running loose in his house? Never in my life have I felt so enraged, the fact that Domevlo is able to pull these kinds of feelings out of me is quite scary. It took many years, a long lifetime to settle myself into the calm, polite and unassuming person that I am. And within months this little brat has all but stripped me of my morals. All this because of a simple word. "No."

Well whether he liked it or not, that boy was gonna learn. He could be bratty, stick out his tongue (as if I'd notice), frown or whine about the decisions I make but if he thought tearing up my things was gonna fly around here he had another thing coming. Maybe to a child I was being harsh but telling a kid -- no matter what species -- that he can't watch television at 12 o'clock midnight when he should be sleep doesn't seem all that harsh to me. It wasn't even a means for the boy to lift one finger. Maybe moan, grumble or whine but ... this?!

Floating in all of it was the hurricane himself, seething at me with his amber orbs. His chest rose and fell with the effort it took to breath. Probably harder when it was obstructed by a mask. It took a moment to drink in the scene, one of the windows were broken (that would cost), some chairs were tipped over, the vanity in shambles, cloths were strewn about with drawers thrown in haphazard directions. The faint smell of cologne had gone to unnecessary use, saturating the floor with its fragrance. The closet was not without meeting Domevlo's wrath, hangers tossed across the room, cloths joining the many others littering the floor, shoes, belts, vests and ties joined them as well. A sigh escaped me as I moved slowly and deliberately past the object of my ire to inspect one final thing. If he even so much as touched -- and there it was my favorite Stetson covered in acrylic paint. The paint I bought for Domo so he could put his curiosity and creativity to better use.

It took all my might to just breath. Rubbing the bridge of my nose; eyes fell upon my charge. He seemed pleased; the sudden glow in his eyes was my only notion, after all learning about his different mannerisms was something that didn't take long to understand but I'm learning more each day. He likes to gloat when he knows he's getting under my skin. Today was one of those days. There were many ways to go about this, scream, yell, throttle or ground him. I preferred grounding myself but this was an action beyond a simple punishment. Taking the newly colored Stetson I placed it on the disheveled vanity watching myself in the broken shards of the mirror. This was going to cost but more than that, Domevlo needed to learn who was in charge.

He seemed in control of himself now, the rising and falling of his chest had subsided. His hands had reverted from tiny fists and his eyes had grown dull -- obviously his gloating had been satisfying enough for him. I smiled. When he let his guard down he was easier to approach because the last thing he expected was an outburst. "CLEAN IT UP... NOW!!!!" As I stated before, yelling is the last thing I want to do but even now it couldn't be helped. If he wanted to push buttons then he'd learn the consequences soon enough.

He squeaked and hissed at the outburst, floating backwards to put space between us. He tried sizing me up with his eyes but he only got a mint glare in return. Moving forward with all the height bestowed upon me I shoved him softly but firmly, pushing his a** in gear. Yelping he floated a distance away glaring then turning up his nose at the mess. This was the times he liked to pretend he hadn't done nothin' wrong. Try to talk me down. "Domo want watch picture box!" Like that was gonna to fly. The hell it was kiddo. Arms crossed over my chest I just glared, speaking at this point would be fatal, I just didn't trust myself to be calm. "Not clean til do!"

Was he serious? Demanding I let him watch TV or he wouldn't clean up. I smirked something that was out of character for me. Stepping over glass, cloths and drawers I went to lock the door leaning against it with a nonchalance that seemed to scare the poor frei. "Oh is that so?" I wasn't going to threaten him but if he though he was big enough to test me -- then he was very welcomed to try.
