Grant just burst out laughing and sat back into the chair that sat facing his desk. "You should have seen the look on your face." Grant was holding his side he was laughing so hard. He then looked to the door. "Ok guys I know you were listening. Come on in." That being said a group of guards practically fell through the door laughing. "Did you hear this guys answer?" Grant said to the solders. "I'm not afraid to die, o my God that's rich." Grant said trying to catch his breath. After a minute Grant gained his composure. "Settled down kid. No one dies around here. I do that to every new rookie who comes through here. Ohaira over there pissed himself when I did it to him. You should have been there for that. I made him clean it up afterwords too." Everyone but one solder laughed at that remark.

 Niro stood there with a blank expression on his face. A..a joke! I pour my heart in that and it was a joke. Oh, this guy is soooo on the top of prank list. When he heard about the other solder, he could help chuckling over that too. I have to admit. That was a good one. "Ha, ok you got me. But does this mean I'm hired, or is there more humiliating task"? Niro was a little unsure about asking the question. He didn't want to give the guy any more ideas. Oh no, he want to save up for payback.

Grants face just went blank. "Listen I don't hire anyone they get thrown at me and I have to make something of you. I didn't want you hear and I don't need you here. Its the counsel that thinks its best and seeing as they put you here then there's nothing i can do about it." Grant looked more mad than anything. He hated being forced to do anything but being in charge of the royal knight meant that he just had to deal with it because the counsel isn't going to let him make a case.

Niro was taken off guard by the sudden out burst. He figured that he must have over stepped his boundaries. Now he didn't know what to say. Grant looked royaly pissed off, no pun intended. Niro figure that his best bet was to shut up and fallow orders. "Uh...yes sir."

"Anyways. I need to make something of you so that's what I'm going to do." Grant stood up. "Men form up out front!" With that the solders in the room quickly left to get the others. Grant grabbed the boy by the shoulder. "Come on." Grant started walking out of his office. He led Niro down to the court yard where the men were waiting in formation and standing at attention.

Keeping quite, Niro fallowed him down the long stairway towards the court yard. While walking, he wonder what battles the captain has been through? And why does it seem like he is force into this job. As they enter the court yard, Niro looked around the area taking in the surround. He then turn to Grant and the rest of the solder.

Grant let go of Niro's shoulder and started walking down the line of men. "Alright men, the counsel sent this boy to us because they think we aren't doing a good enough job on our own. That means some one here has been slacking. I bet we can expect more of these types coming in so listen up!" Grant reached the end of the line and looked up at the castle walls. A small smirk grew from his straight face. "Because we have some slackers in the group I'm putting everyone on double shifts." Instantly the mood among the troops seemed be dampened. "Hey! its your own fault. As for the introduction of new troops, for every new troop they assign every knight is going to run three laps around the castle walls." At this point the troops looked at Niro and were not pleased. Grant then turned to face Nero. "And don't worry boy. We will work you into shape. All new recruits have to do double what the knights do. That includes morning workout."

Watching Grant go down the line, Niro couldn't help but to feel a bit excited. He always wanted to know what it was like to be a knight. Though as the speech went on, his moral deepen. Especially the part when the troops staired him down. He felt like shrinking into his boots. Not only did he get the captain angry at him, but also the rest of the solders. Some first impression. The last part caught him off guard. Du-Double! That mean...I have to do six laps around the castle. Niro looked around the massive castle. This time the scenery wasn't as pretty as before. His attention went back to Grant, not sure exactly how to feel. "Yes sir," Was all he could say. Man, I wish we can go back to joking around.

Gon took a moment from his chores to see why the knights were gathering by the entrance. Gon stayed off to the sides trying to stay hidden in the darkness of the halls, though such a large being had quite a hard time hiding in halls made for smaller creatures then him. The knights seemed to be mad at the new recruit, but that was the least of Gon worries. What it meant for him to have new recruits was more squires in turn meant it would be harder for Gon to finally get his own training done; most of the trainers often made excuses not to train Gon or teach him anything. If it wasn't for Gon's cold blood, he would have became impatient a long time ago with all of them
Seeing no purpose in watching the others anymore, Gon continued his chores with scrubbing the hall floors liked planned. From what Grant had said, it seemed he would have scrub the floors twice as much which Gon didn't mind at all; he knew very well he worked his hardest to get his chores done and be ready for the workouts in the morning. Since Gon wasn't placed in any special privileges for his race, he often did more for his workout anyway. This however meant Gon would be under vision of the knights and squires for longer which he didn't much like; meaning a longer time being stared at and whispered about. The insults died down a bit over the weeks here, but the stares never seemed to cease.

Once Once grant was finished he Started stretching in preparation for the run. This was routine for Grant to do what the men did because he was the type that wouldn't make anyone under his command do what he wasn't willing to do himself. It was a heavy burden but Grant felt it earned him the solder's respect. Once Grant was done stretching he took off towards the stairs of the first guard tower near the main gate.at a medium pace. Climbing the stairs with little trouble Grant got to the top and turned left and started jogging along the path on the wall. He looked out at the forest and marveled at its beauty. Ahh, how nice the foliage is this time of year.

The rest of the knights groaned as they fallow Grant's orders. With a sigh, Niro fallowing the knights example. He figured it was best to be in the back of the group. He fallowed the others passed the guard tower and up the steps. When he got to the last step, some pebble slipped from underneath his feet. The stairwell echo with the sounds of Niro's grunts as he fall all the way down. When he hit the bottom, there was a slight pause until a small groan was heard. "No worries... I'm ok." Niro picked himself up and dust off his cloths. Smooth...Now I really made a fool of myself. But he can't concentrate on his humiliation now. Niro quickly ran up the steps and caught up to the rest of the group.

Gon went outside to join the rest of the knights and recruits in the daily exercise around the castle. Gon wanted to wait till they were a bit ahead so he could enjoy his run without being judged. Gon didn't jog like regular beings due to how his head is leveled with his shoulders on his body and his size to make it harder for him to not accidently cause any damage. Gon always had to be agile and perceptive of his surroundings or risk breaking something. If it was his choice, Gon would exercise outside of the castle where there was more room and less eyes.
The sun felt good for Gon with his cold blood and it made him much more energetic then being in the cold. In some cases the castle was cold enough to almost put him in hibernation, though it was because Gon was a bit more sensitive to temperature. Gon tried his best to keep at a nice distant between himself and the main group of joggers. This was easy as long as Gon was at the opposite wall of where the others were and Gon would be left in peace.

 Jewlet enter the castle after running a mess for the king. She walk calmly across the court yard be careful not to get in the way of the knights. Keeping her head slitely down she was able to get the light out of her light purple eyes. She rubbed her timple as it throbbed from a headache she had for a few hours. Reaching the stairs to the upper court yard, she climbed them. She kept herself close to the edge of the steps as she walked up. She took a step on the the second court yard. She bowed her head to the passing knights and said. "Good day." She said in a nice, she had to force it out though.

While catching up with the group, Niro couldn't help but feel that he was being fallowed. He looked around until he caught a glimpse of some sort of lizardman tagging far behind. Though this did alarm him at first. But since this guy was out in broad day light, and nobody was doing anything. Niro assumed that he was part of the royal court. It wasn't surprising for a castle to have workers of all races. He turn forward again to keep in step with the others. Normally he would join the guy, or at lest encourage him to run with him. But after the trouble he caused, he doubt the lizardman would want to. When he turn the corner, there was a you woman that greeted the knights. He wave a hand to her. "Morning to ya"! Though the grin on his face quickly faded when he realized that he was going to hit a pillar. He swerved around the pillar and continued on. Oops, better pay attention. That lady back there had lavender eyes....don't see that often.
