James Cross went red in the face. Oual, a man he viewed as almost a god, seemed to be a little bit flawed. James had never told the Chief he was going to hide what happened in the explosion. There he went again with the assumptions. James had full intentions of telling Oual what had happened, the only thing is... what had happened?
James looked down at the ground and then smiled. He was never one for lying, but this time he needed to. Not only to protect himself, but to protect Oual from that mad man Mister Wyong. James knew exactly how he would get himself out of this perdictament.
"You are right sir. I should not be talking to you this way. Excuse me for my behavior. It is just ever since you met me you thought you KNEW the entire story... when in actuality... you really don't sir. So yeah... I will tell you right here right now what happened. I was doing MY duty in the mueseum when all of a sudden... FOR NO REASON... three armed men started shooting at me! I chased them because it was MY duty and I was the only DAMNED COP there! That sir... is not my fault... but it is my duty to follow these men to make sure nobody got hurt. When I left to Mueseum to pursue them, I was doing MY duty. If I hadn't, they could have been left to cause more trouble."
James left out the part where he had been injured. Explaining how he had no bruises on him would be a problem he would never be able to get out of. James continued, "I admit, the armed men ran into the school and there was time when I could have called for back up. But what if those men went in there a killed someone? IT WOULD HAVE BEEN WORSE AND YOU KNOW IT! The fact is that I went in there and nothing did happen but a stupid lock down! The only person that got injured was you and both of us missed that the secretary behind the desk... was really one of the culprits! What happened after that you might ask? I will tell you! I followed the three men all the way out here! Yeah... that's right... out HERE! And they went into the water and I followed. They paddled all the way out right near that man's boat and then they turned to me and laughed. The next thing I know they hurl an explosive in the air and BAM! I was already so tired and that explosion almost knocked me out cold! I did the right thing... whether you want to admit it or not! The point is... you wanted this to turn out differently... IT ISN'T ANYONE'S FAULT BUT YOUR OWN! IF I AM NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO MONITOR A MUESEUM... WHAT MADE YOU THINK I COULD FOLLOW THESE MEN?!?!?! That is your fault sir and nobody's but your own and until you realize that, you are going to have a problem. If you don't want this to happen again... I suggest you hire more personal than one miesley sophmore next time to watch a stupid mueseum! GOOD DAY!"
As James Cross turned and walked away, he commended himself on coming up with such a believable story that worked. Oual would not be able to question one thing of what Cross said. All James knew was that it would be okay if he never had to face such a one sided a** like Oual ever again.
