This is the set of TIME-FORCE III. It’s your typical action trilogy with all the big name stars. Surrounded by all sorts of equipment and paparazzi its dam near imposable to find were you need to be without map, or a preexisting knowledge of the set. One other thing, they are currently shooting the scene on the half sunken boat just off the coast of Delmore, so its like a floating bazaar. Be careful one wrong step and you go over-board.

“Oh my god”, Julius said in horrified whisper, “he wasn’t kidding. This place really was a floating bio-lab.” He was kneeling on the floor of the sunken ship just of the coast of Delmore. The floor was tilted at almost a 40 degree angle, the parts of it that weren’t under water that is. He realized two things in that instant. The first was that the ship its self had been a quarantine for the virus, all these years. The second thing he realized was the he had just broken that quarantine. He threw vial to the floor, it shattered and bits of rolled down towards the water. When they reached it, the water, water turned a chilling crimson. He laughed. It didn’t matter anymore. He was carrying the virus as well. Suddenly the ship began to grown and creek, ancient wiring quivered and snapped, pipes burst and sent shrapnel wising by him. The ship was going down after 70 years. All the new activity was causing it to-

“CUTT!!!” the director screeched for the 3rd time. Julius sighed as lights came up all around him and he was blinded. Out of nowhere the director appeared. His chair had been in a hydraulic lift. So had 3 other cameras that had been in the room with him.

Putting his head in his hands Julius said without looking up, “Why o dear god why did we cut this time?”

“Sorry, my bad”, said a voice from behind him. Julius turned around and saw his co-star Tom Cruse, on set with only boxers on and a Twinkie in each hand.

Julius wondered why he was working with this Scientologist on the set of TIME-FORCE III. “I’ll be on my boat, calling my agent if anybody needs me.”

He walked out ignoring the Directors half articulate protests, and Tom’s inquiry as too weather or not there any more Twinkies.

Julius’s boat was near perfect. At 150 yards long, it had very thing one could ask, within reason that is. At the moment it was fitted with a master bedroom, a bathroom big enough to actually swing a cat in, (as the saying goes) a lounge, a kitchen, a sauna, and oddly enough, a fire-pit. For the life if him, he couldn’t figure out why one would need a fire pit on a boat. It seemed pointlessly dangerous to him. It was almost perfect. It lacked only one thing, an anchor. For reasons so far beyond his comprehension, he didn’t even want to try and figure out; the designers of the boat had left out an anchor. This let the boat move faster, but meant that the thing rocked and swayed all the time, like a plastic duck in a kiddy pool, with an epileptic child in it. The only way the thing was kept in one place was by tying it to the tug-boat they had used to bring all the equipment out here.
He sat fiddling with his phone. He had been planning to call his agent, but he knew that if he did that he would get an ear full about all the scripts sitting on his “desk” back home in New York. He put the phone back on the hook, and had a couple of Dramamine. He hated the ocean. He had hated it ever since a day at the beach, long ago, when some kid had mistaken him for a raft. The drugs were making him sleepy, but they made the evil rat that had been digging in his gut go away so he was happy. Looking around the cabin he began to wonder why he had come out here, on the sea, with Tome Curse and all the other things he didn’t like. He was very tired now. Looking out of the window towards the Islandinsula of Delmore, the reason why he was here. He had signed on to do TIME-FORCE III because he had found out that they were going to shoot part of it here off the coast of Delmore. And here, here in Delmore, is where she was. Where he would finally find… He fell asleep and dreamed. He dreamed of three pairs of eyes. The first made it a sweet dream, the second, a sad dream, and the third, they made it a nightmare.

He awoke several hours later, in the cool of the Delmore, sea-breeze, evening, his face and pillow wet with tears and sweat. The sounds of merry making were floating over the sea to his yacht from the 300 yard one Tom had rented, where the cast and crew liked to drink, eat, smoke, and occasionally fall of the boat do to poor judgment or laughter. They hadn’t woken him up to come join them. It figured. The cast and crew were mostly Tom’s people anyway, and he didn’t really feel like talking to them. Disheveld hair and all he climbed up to top deck of his yaht and looked up at the sky. The tug his yacht was tied to was belching great plumbs of black smoke into the wonderful sunset. He frowned at it. He didn’t like it when the natural beauty of thing got ruined by mans carelessness. There was a lone shoe lying there on his deck a few feet away. Obviously someone had been very inebriated on Tom’s boat and had been trying to get his attention. He picked it up and threw it out to sea. It landed in the ocean and floated for what seemed like an unusually long time before sinking.

“Good”, he mused to him self as he went back down to the galley to find a soda, “that will make some crab very happy.”

By the time he came back up it was very dark and the start were out. He had gotten distracted down below and had would up watching about 3 hours of Sex in the City. He didn’t know why he watched those sorts of shows when they always made him slightly jealous, and a little sad, but he did anyway. He sat watching the stars for a long time. Thinking about if he should go on land or not.

Julius was jolted out of his tranquility by the blasting of the Tug’s horn. He had been staring at the star for a long time. He looked at his watch. It was 12:45. He let out a long held breath that he didn’t even know he had been holding. He had a meeting in 15 minutes. He got up and tossed the bottle of Sprite he had been drinking into the ocean. He began to walk off, but then felt bad about littering. He walked back to the edge of the boat and got down on all fours. The bottle was floating just out of reach. He stretched for it, another inch or so would do it. He shifted his weight so it was almost completely off the boat. The waves were tossing the bottle back and forth in front of him in an infuriating manor. Making only the smallest of movement he was able to grab it. Unfortunately in his glee at getting the bottle he moved his other hand, which caused him to fall of the boat.

“God dammit!!!” he yelled. He was wet and now the bottle he had gone through all this trouble for had sunk. “Freakin stupid, that what you are.” he mumbled to him self as he swam over to the ladder. He got out and stud there for a moment shivering. For fully the next 5 minutes cursed himself for being stupid.

He turned around as a motor boat roared up. Julius walked over to the end of boat and sat down next to the driver of the motor boat.

“You bring what I want?” he asked.

“Yes, I did laddy, and you best be tellin me why we are in the dark.” replied the driver.

Julius sighed. “Patrick, you have no flair for the dramatic do you?” he asked with a laugh, and turned on the lights. Patrick O’Laughlin was a private detective. But not just any private d**k, the best in New York. Julius liked him. He was known for getting the job done fast when drunk and even faster when sober. The Irish-man looked like he had just stepped out of a Bogart movie which was another reason why Julius liked him. He was getting on in years but still had enough fight in him to take a few teens. Julius had asked him to take a special case for him and come all the way out to Delmore to meet him here to give him the results. The lights shown off his balding head that had once been full of flaming red hair. He was smoking a cigar. User Image

“What you mean no flair for the dramatics?” Patrick retorted back in a friendly manner, “I stayed sober for this one.”

Julius laughed again, “All right then, give me the results”

Patrick opened the brief case on the seat next to him and handed Julius an unmarked manila folder.

“Its all there Julius.” Patrick said, he was the only person Julius knew that called him by his full name, “You know I believe you when you say that this was your daughter. Other guys would think you’re just perverted.”

“I know…” Julius said with a sigh, “That’s why I trusted you. How much do I owe you?” he inquired looking up from the envelope.

“Nothin, it’s free. I like you, Julius, even if you are a Fitzgerald.”

“All right, but I owe you a drink when I get back to New York.”

“Be carful when you say that to an Irish-man”, Patrick joked, “Well I’m off, stay out of trouble boy. May the road rise up to meet you…” he said turning. Then he jump back in the boat and sped off.

“May the wind be always at your back...” Julius called out after him. He looked down at the folder in his hands. It was the most important thing he ever held, it was all the information on his daughter that Patrick had been able to find.

Julius wondered of he should set the scene for the moment. Should he go down stairs and pour him self a scotch? Should he change out of his still dripping wet clothes? Should he say some sort of dramatic monologue before he opened it?

“Whatever, screw it.”, he decided, “There’s enough drama in life by itself, only a fool like you would make more of it.”

He ripped open the envelope and took out the solitary piece of paper in it, pausing only to reflect that he thought that there would have been more to her then just one piece of paper, and turned it over.

DON’T FORGET WHAT YOU DID!was all that was written, in blood, on the paper.

Julius’s world shattered.

(Last post at The Underwater Lair)

User ImageJames Cross looked up at the shining moon a top of the now floating room he had just been in. Everything that had just recently happened to him seemed so bizarre. When the room had finally risen out of the water, James had found a latch which led him to where he was now. Gazing up at the night sky was calming a peaceful. Nothing could shatter this moment.

"SELF DESTRUCT IN... 10 SECONDS!"

The monotone voice suddenly pierced the night. James looked around and noticed that the robotic voice came from the room/submarine he was sitting on top of. "10... 9... 8... 7..."

The voice started counting down and James went on instinct. He leapt off the roof of the room and started swimming towards the way far off shoreline of Delmor. "6... 5... 4..."

"3..." He didn't know if he would be able to get far enough. "2..." Why was this damned room self destructing in the first place? "1..." This was it! BOOM! The shattering explosion of the room sent huge waves over James Cross's head. He twisted and turned underwater. For some reason, ever since he threw himself into the water, it got really hard to swim, like something was holding him down, putting extra weight on him.

He jetted himself as fast as he could until he came free of the water's depths. Gasping for air he looked around. He saw a boat that looked about 150 feet long and saw the dark outline of a man, who looked like he was reading something. James needed his help before he drowned! He wouldn't be able to get out of this mess by himself. "SIR! SIR! PLEASE HELP ME! I CAN'T SWIM MUCH LONGER!"

Or more appropriately it blew up. Literally. His first thought was the he had quite simply gone insane due to fear and shock and that now he would live out the remainder of his day in a padded cell as dramatic mental fabrications danced though his head until he died. It was not a pleasant thought. The thing that really told him that he wasn’t crazy was the burning shrapnel that landed less then a foot in front of him shredding the paper and punching a hole in the boat straight though to the hull. With a mental snap that provided his Cerebellum with some serious whip-slash, he started like a man awaking from a nightmare, which, in a way he was. He had just been contemplating all the horrors his life had ever known and had come the chilling conclusion that there were all coming back to kill him. Swinging around, he ran. This was probably a foolish thing to do he realized, as there was nowhere to run to that wasn’t currently being bombarded by shrapnel, not to mention, the other end of the boat was only some 100 yards away at the moment and closing fast. Fortunately by the time he got there the shrapnel had stopped. Subconsciously he was incredibly relieved. He was now spared the contemplation of thoughts that if contemplated, would send the contemplator to madness. He looked towards the sources of the explosion. It was near the filming/editing/storage boat. He guessed that someone had been stupid enough to leave the plastic explosives, which were for the final scene, which they were supposed to shoot tomorrow, near the engine.

As he wasn’t in a particularly normal state of mind, this made sense and frowning at the explosion he said, “Go away…” in a firm and authoritative voice that he thought would go well with the explosion.

Slowly, painfully so, he realized that there was a man down there, who was calling out for someone to save him as he couldn’t swim.

“Why is he out here if he can’t swim?” Julius puzzled, as of its own accord his body began to get into gear and to move more and more quickly towards the drowning man.
As he dove off the fiery hole filled boat and into the fiery water he considered what a quixotic thing he was doing. Arriving next to man, whom foolishly, seemed to have been near the explosion when it happened, Julius hooked an arm around him. Surprised at how much he weighed, even in the water, and began slowly to drag, himself and the as yet unknown man towards the boat. Luckily it was fairly close; otherwise he would have been pulled down by the absurd weight of the man, who now was almost completely unconscious. He managed too push the man up onto the diving area of the ship which was just about water level, and using his last ounces of strength, pulled him self up and collapsed.

Along the coastline, many boats and cars alike had pulled over and were honking at the tremendous explosion. A flurry of excitement filled the air as Oual cruised in. He was in a small police escort. As soon as he got out, the crowd demanded answers. It seemed they figured this was a dangerous special effect of Time Force III. Of course, once he should up, they resorted it to terrorism. All he did was hold out a badge and powerfully project his name and status. He asked if there was any way he could get a boat from somebody. Quickly, a kindly older man who’d been leaving offered his. It was a one-man boat. They quickly got it into the water and Oual started it. He had experience driving these. He promised the old man his boat back in safe condition and rode out to sea.

It was hot out by the set. Shrapnel burnt everywhere, and through the mess, Oual heard a plea. “SIR! SIR! PLEASE HELP ME! I CAN'T SWIM User ImageMUCH LONGER!” The voice sounded familiar. Oual pulled up to the side where a man was pulling up an all-too familiar face.

James Cross knew how to swim. It was required at Gilligan’s to some degree. Oual was going to get seriously pissed very quickly. Grayden’s choice of student for the day was not turning out well. Oual pulled up to the edge of the man’s boat and quickly tied his borrowed one to a railing and expertly leaped out onto the diving area where the probable actor had tossed Cross.

“Chief Detective Ames Oual, DPD,” he muttered, flashing the badge, staring at Cross, who was hardly with it. “Do you have any idea what’s happened here, Mister uh-” Oual was not too big on celebrities, in the even that this man was one. All he knew was Tom Cruise was in Time Force III. That was irrelevant, though. He looked to the man for details.

James Cross sucked in deep, piercing to the chest, breathes. He slowly drifted in and out of consiciousness as he gripped as hard as he could onto the diver's platform he was lying on. Sea water slowly kept slapping his face lightly until he was forced back into consiciousness. User Image

He saw that Detective Oual was there! How did he get here so fast and where did he come from? It didn't matter. Cross wished he was knocked out because that would have meant that he wouldn't have to answer the Chief's questioning on the whole burgular deal. What would he tell Oual? He obviously had to lie. He couldn't just say... "Oh Chief... don't worry! I was just experimented on to be made super strong and SUPER heavy. No worries!"... James would think of that later.

He slowly cocked his head to the man whom had saved him and uttered his first words since he had been saved. "Thank you sir. You saved my life." Then Cross slowly got to his feet, wavered a little, and then soluted to the Chief. "Sir... I know there are probably many questions in your mind... but all I ask is that we get to the main land and then I will explain everything."

James Cross was thankful that Oual didn't have any questions for him just yet. James nodded his head and said to Oual, "Yes. I need to get out of here. I will be happy if I am never out at sea again!" He gave a little smile to show Oual he was in a good mood. He finally regained his balance and for some reason a new kind of power seemed to be flowing through him. If this was his newly aquired power. He felt great!User Image

James then looked at the man who had saved his life. "Sir!" James looked at Oual. "I think I owe this man a lot. He saved my life." James then looked around at the surrounding and various debris in the water, some of it had penetrated the boat. "I think that for this man's safety... if he wants... we should give him a free ride and pay for any of the damages this explosion may have caused. After all... this is still considered police business. We can take some of the money out of the police funds." James then looked at the man who had saved his life. "What do you say? Does that sound reasonable?"

James hoped the Chief would agree to this. James Cross pondered how he could make the explosion have something to do with the robbers and how that story would be believeable. Either way... he hoped this incident would not cost James his future job.

While all this was going an about him Julius was lying in a semi-unconscious sates on the deck. Struggling to roll himself on his back he became vaguely aware that the man he had rescued was asking him some thing. He sat up. He coughed up several lung full’s of water. He breathed deeply. Looking around at the man he finally let out a rough chuckle. He was too winded for any real laughter.

‘‘You don’t now who I am do you?” He thought for a moment about this, while coughing some more. “Good, that’s good. And no I don’t want your money. The studio… they…” he said and passed out.
PostPosted: Thu Oct 09, 2008 7:25 pm

James looked down at the man. He felt a little panicked. He hoped the man would be okay. All of a sudden James saw a small piece of paper located on the ground. He stole a quick glance at Oual, whom was checking out the now fainted man and then quickly stooped down to pick the letter up. James stared at the letter and was shocked to see that it said: DON'T FORGET WHAT YOU DID!User Image

James suddenly had shivers down his spine. This man was in trouble. He turned to Oual, who still did not seem to notice him and was about to have the Chief take a look at it when he thought better of it. James felt like even though both of them were the law, (well.... James was ALMOST the law), they had no right getting into this man's business. James Cross still felt that they should help him in some way. He cleared his throat and looked up at Oual. "Sir!" he said. "This man needs to be brought to a hospital. The water he has intook is not healthy. I feel this is the right descision... anyway... I threw him into this mess... it is my job to get him out of it!"

With that, James lifted the man up, which he thought would be a challenge, but instead the man came up so easily, James almost fell backwards because of how fast he came up with the man. The man was as light as a feather. Were these the powers kicking in? In a matter of seconds, James gently put the man in Oual's borrowed boat. "I will only be a minute..." James said as he jumped onboard and ran into the the luxury ships interior. Inside the ship was beautiful. It looked like it had been made for a king... or some sort of person that was famous. He went into what looked like the man's bedroom and saw a brief case. He popped it open to find an assortment of capes and some sort of mask in it. Without emptying it out, James threw a bunch of the man's clothes over the ones that had already occupied it and slammed it shut. He rushed back up to the deck and threw the case in the boat.

"Thought he might like something new to wear when he wakes up..." James sent Oual a smile, hoping he wasn't too enraged with him and James got into the boat and nodded. "Ready to head back to shore whenever you are sir..."
