C.J. Bergman was a very rich man who lived in Delmor up until his death. He also found himself in a situation not unlike most unfortunately rich and dying men, he did not have an heir. He had worked in several public works offices through his long life, including Ambulatory care, fire stations, and as a police officer. Unfortunately, no good deed goes unpunished, and Mr. Bergman's life passion became his downfall when his police car was struck by a firetruck and the ambulance got stuck in traffic. Speedier action might have saved him, but he was unfortunately left paralyzed. As he lay dying he decided that what Delmor needed was more efficient services. He therefore decided to donate his fortune to the local departments on the condition that they combine and work together for better services. Shortly after his death his fortune lined the pockets of several important people, and the hospital was renamed in his honor while a few haphazard new wings were built. Not much else has changed. This building has got almost every public service you can imagine. The left side of the building (basement, first floor, and second floor) is the police station, with a small jail located in the basement. Off to the right entrance is the fire station with a ladder truck, and two regular trucks. The on call firefighters sleep in rooms above the trucks. The hospital takes up the majority of the building and has storage for four ambulances to park inside the emergency room area. There's also a helicopter landing area on the roof where a Coast Guard Helicopter is sometimes parked. **Atrox and Nevi decided this building ought henceforth be known as the "Hospi-tassle" because the MV hospital is under construction and now it looks like a castle, and Nevi screwed up the name. Just kidding. This doesn't really have to be the hospitassle...

There was silence in the hospital room. Both Cait and Jay were in such shock after the events of the day that they’d barely spoken a word in what seemed like weeks. They’d gotten into fisticuffs with the most popular girl in school, armed robbers had broken in while the fight continued in Science B, and Dr. Attomos had caused an explosion that had singed Jay’s eyebrows off. Lucky for Cait, she had been unconscious for most of it, but that only helped the fact that she wasn’t witness to any of it. She wished she could have been more help and was angrily stewing in her bed about what she would have done if she could have gotten her hands on those assholes who broke into the school with guns and put high school students in danger. “Cait?” Jay broke the silence and simultaneously scared the crap out of Cait, who shrieked in response. “Oops, sorry, I didn’t mean to scare the s**t out of you.” “No, it’s fine. What’s up?” “Well, I have a question…” Jay paused dramatically, “This morning, before the fight…” “OW!” Cait shouted… “Oh, sorry Jay…” She sounded stuffy, “I was just rubbing my nose. Temporarily forgot I’d broken it. Go on…” Cait was nervous. Jay had that timid, almost whiney sound in her voice. It meant she was about to say something she wasn’t sure she should. “Well, you mentioned that you had an idea for our costuming project. What was your idea?” Cait could have laughed. Of all the things that Jay could have been mentioning about the morning, this was certainly not something to be worried about. “Well, I had this great idea to make dresses out of duct tape… Figured it would be a good chance for us to show a mastery of alternative fabrics and the challenge of figuring out how to vent it and make it breathable for the stage. Plus, for our practical use we could wear them to prom…and also try out for the scholarship. I’d even picked out a theme, if you were interested. Figured we could go in Renaissance style, contrast new materials with old designs.” “Wow! That is a really cool idea! I’d never thought about anything like that… We should get started right away with concept sketches and some practice pieces, and then head to the mainland and pick up some colors to try them out, try to estimate how much we’ll need and-“ “Yeah, except we were in a fight today.” “So?! More time to work on it if we don’t have to worry about going to classes…” “Except if you get suspended you can’t go to prom.” “Oh…” Jay sulked, “That practical is going to kill us, then. Would we just wear them to school one day? We’d have to do something semi-active in them to show that you don’t overheat and that they are practical…” “Yeah….” Cait sat, stewing silently about what they might do instead… “Maybe we won’t get suspended,” Cait finally piped in hopefully, “We didn’t start the fight, and we never did anything to hurt anybody. We didn’t even provoke her. Maybe they’ll see our side for once.” “I hope…” Jay was saddened. She and Cait were not exactly well liked by the administration because they liked to draw attention to issues with the system that other people liked to ignore. Things would work out. And they’d have the rest of the week to think about it.

""Thanks!" Penelope hopped out of the cab, handing a five to the driver.
"No problem," The man handed her his business car, "Just make sure to always call Steve Cab for your transporting needs!"
"I will," Penelope smiled as he drove off, checking the card. "Samoht, eh? That's an unusual name..." She walked up to the front desk and asked where she could find Cait and Jay. Once she got the room number, she hurried down the hall. It wasn't until she reached the door that what she was doing really caught up with her.
She had been so wrapped up in her attempt to fool her mother that she had overlooked one tiny detail: she didn't know Cait or Jay very well at all. Still, they had totally taken out Rowena together, maybe there's be some sisterhood in that. With her nerves pounding in her ears, Penelope timidly opened the door.
"Uh, hi... I was just in the area... How are you two doing?"

A doctor at the hospital almost ran into penelope as she walked in, "Oh, sorry miss... Excuse me" he muttered, riffling through a manilla folder and continuing on his way. "Oh, hi, Penelope..." Cait was confused to see her standing in the doorway. The three of them had never really spoken, but she guessed finally standing up to Rowena may have given them a little bit more credibility. Plus, it was Penelope who fired the final blow at Rowena, Cait had heard, "Thank you for coming, it means a lot! I just got cleared to leave the hospital, though, so I won't be around much longer." She sniffled. Her nose was killing her. "They are keeping me here over night, though... Stupid chemical burns... It's just a bad sunburn, what are they thinking? UGH!" Jay sat up angrily in bed and crossed her arms, wincing and uncrossing them with the sudden pain from thouching the burns. She had stripped off her hospital gown and put her bra back on to sit shirtless in the room. The rubbing fabric was killing her. "So what kind of craziness is going on in the outside world? How are people dealing with what happened? I feel so awful about everything..." Cait sighed, "Do you mind if I step into the bathroom to get dressed?"

"Do I mind? No, of course not. I can't stand those things, either." To be perfectly honest, Jay's clothing status (or lack there of) made Penelope a little uncomfortable. Still, she couldn't blame her; that burn looked pretty nasty. "Did you see where Rowena wound up? That was quite a welt she got..." Penelope chuckled nastily, "I hope her whole head swelled up."

Cait thought for a moment before shouting through the bathroom door, "No, we haven't seen Rowena since the ambulances came. She wasn't in the ER with us, and I don't think she got admitted. What happened? Was she affected by the explosion?" "They are keeping me overnight but they let her go? If she was hit by the explosion I'll just kill somebody... UGH! Why do we have to have such stupid doctors in town anyway?" Jay was shouting, partially to make sure Cait heard and partly because she was genuinely pissed off. "Is it hot in here? Do you mind if we open a window?" "I tried that already, remember? The windows don't actually open? They are screwed shut! I'll bring you some Aloe Vera later tonight if you want, though..." "Oo, do you have the stuff with lidocaine? That blue goop is fantastic..." "Yeah, I'll bring you a bottle and we can slather it on while the doctor's aren't looking. See if they'll let you take a cold shower first, that always helps me when I get a sun... OW!" "What happened?" Jay said cautiously, momentarily distracted from her own troubles... "Oh, I just hit my nose when I put my shirt on... I think it's bleeding again..." Cait came out of the bathrrom with toilet paper balled up in the front of her nose, "Ugh... yeah... sorry Penelope, I'm sure you've seen enough of my blood today... I'm so sorry..."

"Hey, don't apologize to me. You're the one who's injured..." Penelope didn't quite understand why, but she was feeling a lot better about talking with these two. They weren't like everyone else at the school; they weren't sheep. "Wow, Cait, that whore did a number on you..." "But you guys missed what happened to Rowena?" Penelope felt pretty proud of herself as she explained, "After I hit her, her face started to swell up. Looked like she suddenly broke out in massive pimples!"

"Wow! What the hell did you do to her?!?" Jay said, forgetting the burn and becoming excited, "That totally rocks my socks off! She won't be able to show her face in school for a week with a pimple..." Jay mocked. Cait and Jay burst into hysterical laughter. It was so true! Cait stopped crying through the tears first, "I can't wait to see her! Oh god, It'll be priceless! I wonder if she'll come to school at all on Monday! That would just be the best, HAHA!..... Oh god... Penelope.... Oh god... I can't wait to see what happens... HAHA....Haha...ha...."

"Yeah, it was pretty awesome," Penelope did her best to pretend she hadn't heard Jay's question. How could she explain what she had done? There was a light knock on the door and Mrs. Greenhill poked her head in the door. "I'm glad to hear you girls are having a good time," Mrs. Greenhill smiled. She might be the mother of two teenage girls, but only a few lines on her face and a stray grey in her brown hair would show it. Her eyes were blue, making it clear which side of the family Penelope took after. "Penelope. are you ready to go home? Elizabeth has some friends over, so I'd like to get home before they damage the house." "Yes, mom, I'm ready." Penelope turned to Cait and Jay, suddenly unsure what kind of hand gesture to accompany her goodbye with. "I hope that burn clears up, Jay, and I hope you get plenty of rest at home, Cait." "Oh, did they clear you to leave? Do you need a ride home, dear?" Mrs. Greenhill cut in as only mothers can.

Jay was miffed. Cait was going to get to go home and she was going to have to stay overnight... Of course Cait would take the ride and she would be alone... What was she thinking? This was not a big deal! Cait looked back at Jay, who gave her an encouraging look. She'd feel bad about leaving Jay behind... "Well, I guess so.... It will save my mom a trip. Thank you! I'll see you tomorrow Jay, call me when they let you out and we can walk to your boat together." Gathering up her things, Cait walked out of the room and wished Jay a good night, greatful for the ride home. Cait and Penelope Afterwards>>>

(Last post at Gilligan's) Laura Listerine pulled up to Bergman's and unclipped her seat belt. "Stay here!" she commanded to James Cross as she got out of the car. "I just have to drop off some paperwork at the main desk. Traffic tickets and what not. I'll be right back." She flashed a brilliant, pure, white smile that would normally dazzel anyone of the male species, but James was in no mood to be suduced. "Okay." James said indifferently. As Laura rushed in through the main doors, James's attention was caught by a familiar figure moving in the window. It was Oual! James tried to keep his cool, but all of a sudden he felt himself getting out of the car and making his way towards the main doors. What was he doing?!?!?! He was already in trouble! But he didn't care. Oual was the reason James could no longer attend Gilligan's! James past the office desks quickly, quietly sliding by Laura. He did a good job of dodging secruity and other officers. James got to Oual's door, took a deep breath, and then threw the door open. In a strong and clear voice he said, "You will pay Oual!"

James Cross stood in the doorway stunned by the calm way Oual was acting. If this was supposed to make Cross calm down, it didn't. It made him even more pissed off. Who was Oual anyway? So far everything about Oual infuriated him. Oual had taken everything away from him. James felt another storm of tears coming on. Why was he crying so much? This wasn't like him! Deep down James knew why he was crying though. Deep down he knew that all of these event connected to one thing. "You are a selfish pile of s**t you know that?" James's voice quivered a for a moment before he continued. In all honesty, he had no idea what he was going to say, but he was so clouded with anger everything was just going to pour out and he didn't care what Oual thought. What more was there to lose? "You really have no idea what you have done do you? One mistake? One mistake is all it takes to get suspended from something in this police force huh? I did what I could in that situation and you punish me for doing the best I could! It is your fault in the first place! You trusted a sophmore in the police academy to do a job meant for a professional! And now you took everything away from me. You want to know why I am so infuriated about this whole situation Oual... you want to know why? Because years ago I promised someone I would become a cop! I promised someone I would grow strong and protect the weak from people... well Oual... from people like you. People who look at the worst in people. People who just sit there and do nothing while the world rots. Maybe I have a wrong opinion of you Oual... maybe there is some good in you. But I haven't seen it. I have have yet to see you do one fuc..." Right in the middle of James Cross's speech, a hand from behind shot out and grabbed hold of Cross's mouth. The hand spun him around and James saw that it was Laura Listerine. She must have heard James screaming from the main desks. James didn't feel ashamed or sorry for anything he had said. In fact, he wanted to say more, but Laura being there obviously prohibited him. "I told you to stay in the damn car!" Laura exclaimed in a frustriated voice. "I am terribly sorry Chief! This won't happen again I promise! C'mon Cross! I just got a call from the funerary home. Something to do with a break in. Let's go now!" She tugged at James and he reluctantly started moving in the direction she wanted but not without casting a dark look into the direction of where Oual was sitting. By the time they both got back into the crusier and Laura started driving in the direction of the funerary home, James had cooled down very much, but his hate for Oual was still as strong as ever.
