Duncan, Dark Skinned Warrior

June gave a little whistle as he looked down upon the kid that was brought out for him and then gave a bit of a laugh, "Any reason why the kid is in a harness and on a leash?" He found himself asking. He was wondering if maybe the kid should have a muzzle as well given the way the one in the lab coat was acting towards him. He was barely able to catch the loop of the leash when it was tossed to him. He fumbled it back and forth between his hands before he was able to catch it securely.

"So what is it that I am supposed to do with a bound up kid?"

"You will know soon enough." He was told then the man pointed towards the door he'd come through, "Feel free to take him for a walk." Hunter didn't care one way or the other if he took the kid out and tied him to a lamp post somewhere.

This one was a little hard to deal with given his two sides but was one of the first successful spawn that made it to this stage and was able to be sent out into the world.

"A walk... yeah I suppose we can try a walk." He said, looking down at the kid, "What do you think?"

June was a little startled when the kid lifted his gaze up and starred at him with three different colored eyes, "Walk." He murmured, looking towards the door and then nodded. He wanted out of this place, there was a lot he could be doing out there that didn't involve leashes and being unable to get his hands on a good weapon. He stepped closer, hands reaching up to grasp at June's arm, "Walk." He said again, nail digging in. His eyes were a bit earnest as he tried to stare the idea of 'Lets leave now' into the man that was holding his leash.

"Fine, fine. Lets go then." He said, giving the doctor a glare before he headed out the front door. He wanted to get out of here as quickly as the kid did, after all they were both being dismissed and treated like they weren't wanted. The moment they were out of the building and away from the man he knelt down to work on removing the harness and leash from the boy, "Come on kid, lets go find something to eat shall we?"

Duncan gave a nod of his head and there was a chiming sound as he tapped his metallic wings together as they walked. This was different, this man didn't want to keep him tied up? How very strange...

"Do you have a name?" June asked.

"Duncan." He murmured, yet to release the arm that he was holding so tightly too.

"Duncan, thats a good name. After we get out food we will be heading home. You can meet my band mates. You know our lead guitarist has two kids about your age. How does that sound? Two kids for you meet."

Duncan starred up at him with those three different colored eyes then looked away, "Maybe." He wasn't sure what he thought about the idea of dealing with other kids... so long as they were nice he could deal.

June patted him on the head, "No reason to be nervous, everyone is nice. I am sure you will get along with them all." He said, and soon enough the pair was heading for the nearest corner store to get a bite to eat.

As of late your child is showing signs of rage and is unable to calm down. Ripping apart anything that gets within hands reach and just generally breaking anything he comes in contact with. Perhaps even someones hand or arm if he were near someone while during his tantrums. You feel the need to contact the facility, before someone gets seriously hurt.

Fear

Duncan was sitting on the ground underneath the thick branches of a tall oak. He was starring at the bark of the tree, following all of the different designs, and every breath he took was slow and steady. He was doing his best to keep his mind his own, to keep his emotions stable, to continue to be himself. Someday were better then others, days when he could go hours without a moment of seeing red.

The boy looked over his shoulder and around the yard, it was empty and quiet... the other kids in the house were far from here. They left him alone, most everyone did aside from June... his caring and loving father. He gave a sighing sound as he rose to his feet and his claws dug into the bark of the tree, leaving grooves. As good as the man was though Duncan wasn't a worthy son, how many scars did June bare now because of his fits? Scratches and bites, deep ones that wouldn't easily heal... The young boy leaned against the tree with a sighing sound and sank back down.

He wanted to be a better son but he wasn't, he was a dangerous creature and he was afraid that one day he was going to seriously hurt someone he cared about... or worse.

The Best Laid Plans...

In theory it had really seemed like the best idea ever. He cared for June, June cared for Akuji, and Akuji cared for her band mates and those confusing and bratty twins called Lucius and Uri... as such he had figured that if he weren't in the picture then Lucius and Uri would be safe which would make Akuji happy which in turn would make June happy. It all made sense, ever since meeting his 'brother' Jhor he'd been so confused about what he was, who he was, whenever he thought of it though he could only think of the men in white lab coats that had poked and prodded at him when he lived in the lab. Thinking on them brought out his rage which made him lose his control...

He had made use of his body, his clawed hands and feet were truly good for soemthing and that something had been climbing. He had climbed up and over the fence that surrounded the beautiful garden he was always confined to and he slipped away.

It had been a good idea... he had thought if he disapeared then June could be happy, he would be able to heal up from his many injuries and in time he would forget that he'd been foolish enough to take in a monster who hid behind the guise of being a son. No real son would hurt his father, no real son would feel rising anger that made him want to hurt his friends. Duncan wasn't meant to be anyone's son... he was a monster and monsters were supposed to stay in dank lairs far away from normal people if television had anything to say about it.

In his search for such a place he quickly found himself lost, all the builds near where they lived were so tall... the streets twisted and turned, they were like a maze, and so many people moving around him made him rather dizzy. His trio of eyes darted back and forth and for a moment he wished he hadn't run away... this place was confusing and he wouldn't ever find his way back. He couldn't go back...

Which only meant he could go forward. He lifted his clawed hands up to cover his face and he drew in some deep, steadying breaths. Even now in this crowded crush of people he could feel his anger starting slowly to rise, could feel his fear and hatred of them... it was humans like them who hurt him back in the labs, humans who made him feel such anger... he hated them all!

His hands clutched at his head, "No..." He groaned, no he didn't hate them all. He liked June right? Right...? He wasn't sure, his emotions were always so mixed up and trying to figure out those he liked was confusing. He was sure he liked June, June cared for him protected him, he was always there even when his darkness came out... There were others though, right? More then just his father...

"Adriel." He murmured, lowering his hands and started to look around. Adriel... Adriel was his friend, he had been nice to him even when he had fits of anger and Duncan didn't mind him even when his annoying tentacles got all touchy, feely. It was strange, that in this moment when he was most lost, alone, and afraid he was wanting someone other then his father, someone who he'd once thought as a crybaby and nothing more.

He started forward, claws clicking against the concrete as he walked. The world outside the fenced in yard was so huge. He had no hope at all of finding either his father or Adriel which meant that the best thing he could do was just try to find somewhere quiet where he could sit and think, where he could breath, and where he wouldn't chance harming anyone.

No Way Back

The strange, red skinned child turned down yet another alley way and hurried along, his nails digging into his palms. Pain seemed to help him keep his mind clear, keep his thoughts focused. So long as he felt the pain in his palms he didn't feel his mind slipping into one of his rages and he was able to keep going. He wondered if maybe he were someone cute, someone kind if a human would have offered to help him by now? Instead he was a frightening looking child, red skin, a trio of eyes, claws on all four limbs... they would rather flee from him or ignore him then help him.

He didn't need them, weaklings... stupid fools... he didn't anyone but his father and his friend. If he could find either of them...

"No!" He snapped, his anger turning against himself for a change. He couldn't go back, if he went back he would just risk harming people again. He was getting more and more lost, getting dizzy, getting upset. He hated this town. Why did everything have to be so big compared to him? He wondered how long he had been away for, how long he'd been running... did June know that he was missing? Did he care? Was he relieved or worried over the fact that Duncan was no longer in the yard...? He couldn't help but wonder if maybe the man was pleased. No longer did he have to care for a dangerous burden.

"June..." He whimpered, stumbling a few steps and he hit the ground on all fours. He starred down at the cement, his wings twitching causing them to chime before he started to growl deep in his throat. His knees and palms ached, he could feel and smell the blood from wounds the fall had caused. Instead of helping to focus him though the many points of pain just angered and confused him unlike when he dug his nails into his palms.

He shoved up to his feet once more, looking forward through narrowed eyes and found himself starring at greenery that made him think of a park. He started forward despite the pain he was feeling and was glad to lose himself in the place. His eyes spotted a huge, slightly submerged concrete tube that he went and crawled into... he barely made it inside when the anger that he'd been holding in for so long finally broke free of his waning control...

He gave a snarling sound and everything before his eyes went red.

A Moment of Clarity

A moment after waking up Duncan wished that he could go back to sleep... he was utterly exhausted and he was hurting everywhere... he opened his three eyes and looked towards the scenery outside. It was quite confusing for a moment before his mind finally wrapped around the fact that he was laying on his back. He rolled over and starred outside, into the park and into the darkness. It was night already? How had so much time gone by? What had he done in that time? He felt a wave of fear and worry as he scooted down deeper into the concrete tube.

When he was as far back as he could go he looked himself over, sniffing at his hands and then the area around him. It didn't smell like fresh blood, just the crusty blood that clung to his own wounds. That meant that he hadn't hurt anyone else passed himself. He did have a lot of dug under his nails and now that he looked at them they felt rather short. He lifted his hand out run it over the inside of the tube and he could feel markings... so he'd taken his anger out on a safe target this time? It had only caused him to grind down his nails and exhaust himself.

He gave a sound of happiness, hands lifting up to hide the fact that he felt like crying. He was sure that he was going to awake to find that he'd hurt someone again. He didn't like coming out of one of his rages only to find his nails wet with blood... today was a good day he thought, curling up into a ball. At least as good as a day without June could be. He was tired, sore, lonely, so many emotions that the young boy wasn't used to were flooding his system and this time there wasn't even a moments worth of anger.

It was as if for now he'd exhausted his anger and it had allowed for him to feel other things... he let his eyes closer for a moment, hands laying on his chest. Was this how everyone else felt? Getting all of these strange feelings, strange sensations... was this how June got to feel? He sat up slowly and he felt all three of his eyes tearing up.

June wasn't the sort that would be happy if he were to leave, the man was no doubt frantic. It hadn't been something he'd been able to wrap his mind around before as it was far to crowded with dark thoughts and emotions. He was able to see clearly for the first time in a long time and all he wanted in this moment was to go home!

"June." He murmured, turning and started to crawl up out of the concrete tube.

The boy had barely taken two steps forward when suddenly several bright spots of light were pointed at him, momentarily blinding all three of his eyes.

"We found him sir." Came a voice from behind the lights. He squinted and could see flashes of red and blue, see men in uniforms... no! He felt an over whelming panic and turned, ready to bolt. What had happened, had the labs sent these men to take him back now that he was no longer with June?

"Duncan!"

The voice caused the little, red skinned boy pause.

"Idiots your just scaring him, what did I tell you!" The man said, moving to put himself between Duncan and the blind lights.

The young boy blinked, gazing up at the massive silhouette, "J-June." He breathed before rushing forward, throwing himself against the man's legs and clung tightly to him, "June." He buried his face against the jean material of June's pants and did his best to keep from sobbing from all the confusing emotions he was being once more flooded with now that panic had receded, "June." He whimpered again, seeming to be the only word he could get out.

"Shhhh... its alright now Duncan. I'm here and I'm gonna take you home." The giant of a man assured his small son, kneeling down so that he could wrap his arms around him, "Its all going to be alright, I promise."

A Hard Choice

It had taken a while to get out of the red skinned boy what was going on in his head, what he had been hoping to accomplish when he left home and now he was pacing. The boy was afraid of himself, of what he could do, who he could hurt. He knew that Duncan had moments where his lucidity was a bit on the lacking side. He could understand why his son would run away, to try to get away from people he cared for instead of chancing to hurt them.

He didn't want to go back to the labs for help, didn't want to bring Duncan there again. He had been so angry when they went for their last visit and made his dislike of everyone there aside from Jhor quite apparent in his snarling and growling. None the less they would be the best ones to talk to, to see if there were anyway to ease Duncan's rage...

At the same time he could recall that haughty little fool they had met last time they were there. He'd commented about how one couldn't change their nature. He sighed, walking over to sit down next to his son. He reached a large hand out to lay it on Duncan's head, "Hey kid, how are you feeling?"

Duncan turned three eyes over towards his father then away, "Tired." He murmured, leaning against his father's arm.

"I bet, you had a long night... we both did." He said, leaning back against the wall and wrapped his arm around the boy pulling him over, "You know I can take a beating, I've got a tough hide. So I don't want you running away again because your worried about me, alright?"

Duncan gave a weak nod of his head.

"Duncan... do you trust me?" He asked, his voice sounding a bit hesitant.

Duncan looked up at his father for a long moment before nodding, "Yes." He murmured.

"I think we should go and talk to the people at the labs, hopefully not the guy from last time. Just someone we can talk about to see if there is a way for you to better control your anger." He explained.

Duncan was glad that his claws were dull from last night as his blunt nails tried and failed to dig into June's skin out of reflex, "Back...?" He breathed, having thought he would never have to go to that awful place again and here he might have to go a second time in such a short amount of time.

"I promise if we end up with the guy from last time and he starts to run his mouth I will fill it with a fist, sound good?"

Duncan blinked then smiled, "Yes." He said, amused. He was sure his father could break any of the people there, he was twice their size after!

"Alright, we will see about visiting soon. For now you should get some more rest." June suggesting, letting his son doze off against him.
