((Something tells the Zakkie that this is gonna get really weird later...XDD)) Kamira slept curled up under the tree in Zakkie's yard, completely unaware that her guardian had invited over June's boy to play. Her guardian wasn't sure how it would end, but she was somewhat confident that Duncan and Kamira could be friends.

Duncan was kicking his clawed feet in a pathetic attempt at a protest as he was carried over his father's shoulder like a sack of potatoes. He didn't want to go! Didn't want to go! If the person they were meeting was anything like Adriel that meant unwanted hugs, snuggles, and hands on affection that he didn't want anything to do with, "No!" He called even as they headed towards the door to the house.
June had double checked the address and gave a little sigh as he looked at his flailing child, he didn't want to subject other people to his son in one of his fits but they had planned this meeting a while ago. He wanted his son to get son to become more social, to do more then sit in his room and hide out. The boy needed more friends then just Adriel who he didn't even seem to like all the time.
June lifted a hand to knock on the door, "Duncan, try to behave you might make a friend."
Duncan merely gave a growling sound in the back of his throat.

Zakkie loped up to the door and opened it, grinning. "Hi, June! And this must be Duncan." she said, motioning them inside. "Come in, come in. Kamira's out back under the tree. And later on, I have some sundaes ready for after you guys finish." Zakkie opened the back door and called for Kamira. "Hey, Kami! Duncan's here!" Kamira opened her eyes and sat up, looking towards the door. "Wha?" she muttered, walking over. "Hi..." the little kid murmured, shuffling her feet.

Duncan gave no response to the greeting though looked half tempted to chew on his father's shoulder as if he thought that it would help him to escape. June followed over to where the woman led, seeing her little girl he set Duncan down on his feet, "Go play and be nice." He said, hoping that the word 'nice' got through Duncan's head.
Duncan jerked away from his father's hold before walking a couple of steps towards the girl. His eyes narrowed a little as he looked her over. He sniffed at the air then blinked. Wait... this wasn't just any friend he thought to himself, she was somewhat like him. Not of the any of the same DNA but just... felt similar.
His anger calmed slightly, "Hi." He muttered to her.
June looked over to Zakkie, sighing a bit, "Hes a good kid he just has problems with keep his temper in check at times." He explained, not wanting her to think that his boy was always in such a foul mood. He had times when he was actually quite pleasant.

"Oh, it's fine. I'm sure he's a good enough kid, too." Zakkie said, looking towards Kamira as she slipped outside. "So....you're Duncan?" Kamira asked, tilting her head slightly. "I like it." she said, sticking out a hand for a handshake. "I'm Kamira. Nice to meet you!" Kamira said with a well-meant grin. "I hope Titan and the other ducks don't start getting overprotective, though...they do that." Zakkie said, walking into the kitchen. She started making two more sundaes for later. "What do you like on your sundaes, June?"

Duncan starred at the other girl's hand for a long, long moment. He seemed to be waiting as if suspicious before he took it and shook it. This was what the older people did, a form of greeting. It wasn't so bad because it wasn't him being crushed by the affection of another.
This meant that in his mind this strange girl wasn't to bad, "Kamira." He said the name, committing it to memory from the sounds of it.
June gave a little wince, "I hope they don't act over protective too." He agreed, if Duncan were to get attacked by ducks he had no idea how the boy would react, last thing June wanted was for his son's anger to cloud his judgment and cause him to fight back against a bunch of birds, "Hmm? Sundaes? The sweeter the better."

Kamira shook Duncan's hand and motioned towards the expansive and flourishing backyard. "Want to go mess around?" she asked. Zakkie smiled and sighed. Kamira was more energetic than she had seen her in a long time. "Mmkay, with all the works?" she asked, brandishing a banana around like a cutlass.

Duncan nodded, seeming to be waiting on her to lead since it was her yard. He was looking around though, all three of his eyes open and taking everything in. It was rather calm here wasn't it? There weren't a bunch of people coming and going, it was just this one little girl. He lifted a clawed hand to his chest, taking in a deep breath and then slowly let it out again. He didn't feel his anger rising, maybe because of the quiet here?
"Yes." He said to Kamira, agreeing to go and mess around. He took a couple of steps forward as he took in the yard and all that was going on in it.
June gave a nod and a little laugh as the woman wielded a banana, "Sounds great." He said. He rather liked this woman, she was like Jayoku in that his appearance didn't bother her. There some people who would take measures to avoid meeting with someone who looked like him, "I appreciate your allowing Duncan to meet with your girl, he only has one friend despite his age and doesn't really seem interested in meeting any others."

Sparky, Kamira's cat, popped his furry little grey tabby head out of the leafy boughs of a tree and meowed a greeting to Duncan. Kamira laughed and lifted him out of the tree, cradling him in her arms, where he curled purring. The curious kitten nuzzled Duncan's elbow with his fluffy head, taking a liking to him instantly. "Aw, Sparky likes you!" Kamira said, smiling. This Duncan kid wasn't so bad after all; in fact, Kamira thought he was actually pretty cool. "Hey, no problem. Kamira needs to meet some other kids, because, well...we don't really get out much." Zakkie said, peeling and slicing the banana. She expertly flicked each soft peice into the bottom of a glass bowl and then drowned it in chocolate syrup, topping that with Neapolitan ice cream, a little bit more chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and a maraschino cherry perched at a jaunty angle at the top to finish it off. "Viola, one perfect sundae." she said, stashing it in the fridge to keep it cool. "When the kids come back in, we'll start eating those." Zakkie opened up one of the cabinets and retrieved two glasses, filling one with Coke for herself. "Anything to drink?"

Duncan took a couple scrambling steps back away from the cat when it dared to try to nuzzle him. He seemed instantly convinced that whatever the cat was up to it couldn't be good... then the girl told him that Sparky liked him. Liked him how? Liked him as in it wanted to eat him? He gave the cat a look as if to tell it that it was watching it, that it wouldn't allow it to eat him!
He tried to drag in a breath to keep his emotions all even and calm, he felt anger rising and was doing his best to keep it under control.
"We get out maybe to much just never in the right places." With June being in a band that was mostly out during the night hours didn't help. He watched as she made up the sugary treat and did his best not to purr in delight. It was to bad they had to wait for the kids to have at them. He would behave though, "Just water would be fine, thank you."

"Mrrow?" Sparky meowed, giving Duncan a cutely confused look. He then leaped gracelfully down from Kamira's arms to rub along Duncan's leg. "Aw, don't worry, he doesn't bite. Sparky's a really nice little kitty." Kamira said, watching as the cat darted off to wherever he liked to haunt in the midday hours. "Alright, water it is." Zakkie said, swishing the faucet into life and filling the glass with cool water. She then handed the glass to June, and, taking a sip from her own, began to make yet another sundae. "Zephyr and Slythor could be coming over. Just want to make sure, if they are." Zakke added with a winka nd a wave of the ice cream scoop.

Duncan did his best to dodge the overly friendly cat, afraid that it was planning on taking a bite out of his leg... but instead it rubbed against him. It rather reminded him of Adriel... maybe Adriel was a cat he thought to himself. Given how snuggly he was it could be possible. He was happy to see the cat go, gave a sighing sound of relief, then looked over to Kamira, "Nice." He finally agreed with her. The cat had been nice enough to go away and nice enough not to bite so he supposed it wasn't that bad.
"More guests?" He asked, looking towards where Duncan was. He could only help that his boy behaved himself despite this turning into more then just a one on one meet, "I will have to keep a good eye on my boy when they come, just in case. He's never played in a group before." He sounded slightly worried.

"If they don't show up, then we'll split these two sundaes inbetween us." Zakkie said, looking out the window at Kamira and Duncan. "Oh, look, Duncan just met Sparky." "He's a good cat, just really...." Kamira made a weird gesture in the air with her hands. "....weird. He's a fun kitty, though." She walked on down to the pebbly shore of the moderate sized pond, bending over to pick something up. "Hey, Duncan! Look at this." Kamira called, holding up an object that glistened in the sun.

June moved to look through the window, less concerned about Duncan now and morseo about the cat... he'd not been mean to the cat had he? He watched his son closely before once more relaxing, "Sorry, I know I am hovering a little I just worry." He muttered, sounding a little embarrassed as he forced himself to calm down again.
The tall man knew that he had to let Duncan be, to learn how to keep his calm and control over his anger. The little girl he was playing with might help perhaps.
Duncan followed after the girl as she walked over to a pond and he looked down at his reflection into it. His trio of eyes blinked before he turned his attention to the rock that she was holding out. He reached a finger out to touch what was being held out to him, "Shiny." He murmured to her, giving her a smile of delight as he knelt down to see if he could find other shiny objects within the water, "Nice."

"And there's more where that came from! You can find all sorts of things around here. Like this." Kamira stooped over and lifted up a small metal ornament that was rusted and bent slightly out of shape. It was a small orb with a stone in the middle that gleamed in the sunlight through its crystalline coating of the clear pond water. "Wonder what this came from?"
"Ah, it's fine. I do the same thing with Kamira sometimes. She and Duncan seem to have hit it off pretty well, though." Zakkie siad, taking another sip of her drink as she stashed the last sundae into the icy depths of the fridge from which nothing came out warm. "Worrying is natural with parents." Zakkie shrugged. "But it's a little more normal when we have half-demon half-celestial munchkins running around, eh?" she laughed.
