tennantsbutterfly Have to admit I got a bit upset on the second kiss in VOTD, but that is because it was such a sad but beautiful scene. I have to agree, I was Almost in tears when that happened

awesome name for a thread, by the way. its incredibly amusing rofl
...he is the doctor 4laugh he is sexy.
and I gotta say, i never really noticed him snogging everyone. He is not nearly as bad as Jack, or any of the Torchwood cast. seriouly, none of them have any self control!
Jack can be justified the same as the doctor: he is irrisistably sexy 3nodding , and few can deny it. but the rest if them? come on, they are just ugly and boring stare (I hate Owen!! mad )
wow, i applaude Torchwood's excellent timing. right as i typed this post, Jack was snogging someone on tv behind me.

Yeah, but the Doctor NEVER kissed anybody in the old series, and was very rarely kissed by anybody. & now seems like he has to kiss or be kissed by every companion that comes along. Big difference.

Personally I just choose to ignore it- to me the Doctor should be a character that is looked up to- not someone looking for a shag, sorry Ten.
And Tennant's hotter without the all women attaching themselves to him anyways, so leave it like that. D:
But to be fair, most of the kisses can be justified in one way or another.
CONVERSE: On the topic of Torchwood, Jack = Interglacial Manwhore, end of story. Though I disagree on the aesthetics of the cast, all of them are pretty good looking, even Owen. XD

Lullabee So his beard may look ugly. But it's precognitive and capable of communicating with him! They need to extend that concept to Ten: "My sideburn-sense is tingling!" Lullabee I think... The Doctor is always clean-shaven, except for Eight's little aberration. At least one of those pesky pre-Hartnell Brain of Morbius faces also had some face-fur going on. If you're into Lee Evans lookalikes. twisted Eirwyn Yeah, but the Doctor NEVER kissed anybody in the old series, and was very rarely kissed by anybody. See, that accounts for everything. He's got a lot of time to make up for.

Well in the old series it was definitely a "no-no" actually to the point where the 5th doctor couldn't put his arm around Tegen. .
NO HANKY PANKY IN THE TARDIS!!! scream blaugh
And yes David Tennant is definitely irresistible. whee

I say there is too much snogging in the new series. And this is coming from a Torchwood fan. They should of have had the Doctor snog Renette in The Girl in the Fireplace (the only episode that really gets away with it, because the whole "Doctor in love" thing was actually ORIGINAL at the time.) and just left it at that. Rose, Martha, and now Astrid? Unless Doctor Who gets it's act together, in 20 years it'll just be an obscure, sad sci fi pornography, lacking the charm and brilliance that made the show great in the first place...

What evidence suggests that the approach which has brought this about is somehow speeding us towards disaster?

Yeh Rite stressed stressed scream If DW became that, I would petition all companies to do with it... Besides, the Doctor only has two regenerations left... Then GOODBYE!!! ...unless he gets more, like the Master did...

Well I could believe in Martha kissing the Doctor, He's cute, He's fun, He's like fire and ice....>_> umm anywho. But him being kind of like "uh yeah....no"
With Rose it was the first attempt to give a companion depth. Honestly before her all the companions were rather flat and fell into one of these catagories:
1.The "SAVE ME DOCTOR EEEEEEEE" screamers who were for the most part useless 2."I wanna see the universe...BECAUSE I CAN" types 3.Smart,resourceful, yet somehow were continuously captured(*cough*Romana*cough) 4. The muscle or kind of tough kick butt kind.(Ace, Ian, etc.)
With Rose it was more of "I want to be more then who I am, I want to know" She didn't just wanna go along for a ride, She just wanted to be more then a shop girl. Unlike a lot of companions she couldn't go back to her old life, she'd seen to much and she fell in love with the Doctor.
With Martha, they were trying to do something, but went about it all wrong. They wanted it to be like: The Doctor still loves Rose, Martha is similar to Rose. He treats her like he treats Rose. Martha falls in love with the Doctor because of this and well the very handsome, smart, exotic alien man( I mean come on that's hot). The Doctor rebuffs her gently but it isn't until she realizes that he's still in love with Rose and she's the rebound girl does she leave, remaining friends with the doctor. but they went about it completely wrong it came off rather stale most of the time. Interesting characters they worked well together but when it came to romance it was dull and less then perfect
(see my lil pun there in the first paragraph tee hee)

In regards to the snogging, do you think he'll try planting one on Donna? eek If so, what are the odds of Donna giving the Doctor a right upper cut to the jaw for it? twisted rofl

hmm . . . this is a fun little thread . . . now that Season 4 is done, do we want to see more/less snogging in the future? My personal preference: less on-screen, more in my fanfic lol . And speaking of, "he never used to snog companions," my theory is, "he never used to get CAUGHT IN PUBLIC snogging companions." He was just more private and discreet. But come on. You know he and Tegan were knockin' boots, else why did she suddenly stop all her "take me home now!" fits? And Sarah Jane. Have you ever really watched them together? And Romana is obvious--he was so upset when she walked out he committed suicide, fercrissakes! (I really don't think he HAD to fall in Logopolis. I think he let go.) Now Doc 3 did NOT have a romance with Jo, though it was painfully obvious he loved her--he just didn't have the nerve to let her know how he felt, either because he figured he was too old and ugly for her (youth and beauty are so over-rated!), or because of the whole "sucks to love a mortal" problem. Still not sure about Doc 6 and Peri. If they did hook it up, it was later in the relationship, because he was going through so much personal turmoil he was pretty much beating her off with a stick, emotionally, at first. I mean when he wasn't undergoing a complete psychotic break. I can state without a shadow of a doubt that no one has ever had, or ever will have, sex with Mel. She's way too inhibited. The Doctor picked her up to punish himself for some imagined crimes against Peri. Ace . . . Hmm . . . She was too young (only 16) when they met. How would things have changed if they'd been together longer? I dunno, and I freely admit I read very few of the novels because 1) I couldn't find 'em in my local bookstore and 2) when I did find 'em somewhere, they depressed me. Too dark for my tastes, most of 'em.
Back to the subject of "exposing the Doctor's secret love life," I think #1 was seriously hot for Barbara, but since he was a little old geezer, she never noticed. I haven't seen much at all with the Second Doctor, so I don't know if he had any mad crushes or not. Doubt he had much of a love life, though, since he was almost as geezeriffic as #1. Which brings us back to the subject of "why is the 10th Doctor always snogging on people?" BECAUSE HE CAN! He's now young-looking, cute, and milking it for all its worth. mrgreen And if you want to see him snogging, go check out my fanfic, "Artifacts," in the "Land of Fiction" sub-forum.
