Scarlett glanced at Zak when he seemed to soften his stance on her proposal, or at least he seemed less bitter about the subject once he realized what her angle was. "Mm... I was wonderin' if you raised your empoleon from a piplup, and ifn you did, maybe you could give me a few tips on raising mine." Scarlett suggested. She was still a bit peeved by Zak's cold rejection of her offer, but if he really wasn't used to these sorts of dealings, then she couldn't really blame him for the knee jerk reaction. "Like I said, equal compensation." She shrugged.
When they decided to play basketball as Scarlett's next landmark for improvement, Scarlett was quite pleased. She knew that Zak would be a difficult opponent, possibly too difficult, but she was looking forward to it all the same. Even if she didn't win, she would gather a lot of information about Zak. While she may not have been able to dig up his past, the present Zak was far more important and interesting. He even claimed to know a court in Castelia, which was pretty interesting. She needed to start figuring out a reward for Zak too, because there was no way she was going to let him pick. Though she did remind Zak that he shouldn't count her out just yet, and plan a reward for her as well if she happened to win. Zak of course only teased her, suggesting that he would try not to. Scarlett scoffed in mock offense at that, the grin on her face indicating amusement, even if it was annoyed amusement.
Zak then suggested that they continue walking while their pokemon searched for Zinzolin. Scarlett opened her mouth to say yes, but she then looked back at their anchor shark pair for a moment. "Sure...." She agreed, but her voice trailed off, as if she were thinking about something else. Ten was a bit helpless, but Mako could hold his own. She was certain they would be fine, but just in case.... "Pearl, Luna, stay with them." She insisted. She didn't want anything happening to Mako given that he would likely be guarding Ten, and though Plasma was likely to try and snatch them up, Scarlett was certain that between Pearl, Mako, and Luna, they could handle anything that came their way while she and Zak were gone. "Neu then, did ya just want ta walk and talk, or was there something around here that you actually wanted to do?" She asked teasingly.
Mako grunted lightly as Ten wiggled and flailed and bit her way along up onto his back, but when she finally triumphed, Mako couldn't have been prouder of the little hatchling. He let her have her moment in the sun, puffing up all proud for conquering Mt Mako, and then he bounced her up and down a bit on his head playfully. Even though he was entertaining Ten, Mako did note Scarlett sticking Pearl and Luna to him, given that she was walking away with Zak. He assumed that meant he was on babysitting duty, not that he minded. He was quite enamored with the little aklor anyways, so he was more than happy to continue playing with her.

Ultimately, it was Darren's counter to her feeble argument that made her back down and agree to rest. Arguing further would have just gotten the both of them angry, and that would do neither of them any real good. Indeed, it could have gotten one or both of them in worse trouble if they became too frustrated, at the very least by potentially attracting attention with a loud, heated argument. Once it was decided that the two were going to try and stay where they were, though, Darren softened his demeanor and focused on the most recent of her injuries. The head wound, to be precise, which had been healed up rather well thanks to Marigold. Rather well did not mean perfect, though, and there still seemed to be a bit of pain left behind as well as a fair amount of disorientation."Not like a bruise, no..."the teen ventured with a strained voice as she rolled a bit and have most of her weight on her left arm so that she could prop herself up slightly. Mostly it was so that she could actually give the back of her head a light rub with her right hand to make sure both that the wound was gone and where the pain she did feel was coming from. The other reason, though, was that the pain actually felt worse while lying flat on her back, as if someone were beating on the inside of her head with cloth mallets."It feels more like a migraine... There's definitely a pounding pain, but it doesn't feel entirely connected to where I got hit... If that makes any sense?"Between the pain and the strangeness of it, it was kind of hard for Sable to explain. Certainly, the actual site of the impact didn't have any damage or pain to it, but there was definitely a feeling of a dull, pounding ache towards the back of the teen's skull.
After trying to explain how her head felt, the conversation lapsed into silence for a moment. While Darren kept an eye on things, Sable tried to clear some of the pain and dizziness from her head. A painkiller was probably a bad idea overall, since they tended to take tens of minutes to kick in, time the duo couldn't really be sure they had until it already passed, so the redhead instead used a trick of focusing on her own breathing and trying to keep it as steady as possible. It wouldn't do anything to fix the pain itself, but by concentrating on the rhythm and depth of her breathing, it would at least cause the teen to focus her mind on something other than the pain. Unfortunately, a meditation master Sable was not, so while it certainly did well at its task at distracting her from her migraine, it meant she was a bit spaced out at first when Darren mentioned Gavyn's improved condition. The teen was lucky to even notice that Darren spoke at all!"H-huh?"Sable slowly looked in various directions, trying to see whatever it was Darren might have been talking about while also trying to avoid making her headache any worse than it was steadily becoming. After a moment or two, she noticed Gavyn moving as well."A-ah, yeah..."she muttered in vague agreement, still not entirely sure what Darren had said but figuring that since the tone hadn't sounded distressed, the subject was probably something towards the better side of things.
Things were clearing up rather well around the group of pokemon. Most of the grunts were either defeated, backing down, or fleeing from Zephyr's fury, which meant far less for the other pokemon to deal with. A good thing, from Jin's point of view, since he was pretty sure the team couldn't keep their pace up for too much longer. At least, his team couldn't, even with Aroma playing doctor for those that needed it. Plus, as much as he was trying to keep Asriel calm, this place was pretty dangerous for him and Lily."I'm gonna try and get these two somewhere safer,"Jin warned the rest of the group as he gave Asriel a light jostle, mostly to readjust how he was holding the fluffy white charmander but also to indicate him as one of the ones he was moving to safety."C'mon, Lily, you come too!"With that, Jin started to try and take advantage of the openings made by some of the other pokemon and maneuver himself, Asriel, and Lily towards away from the battling and somewhere that they could keep out of sight for a little while. Unfortunately, one of the few grunts still keen on causing trouble had other plans, and Jin didn't get far before feeling something hard and heavy slam into his back. Zak quirked quite the eyebrow at Scarlette's question, and follow up proposition. He seemed to pause, as if he was considering a moment, but then shrugged. He eyed her, raising an eyebrow. Now he was a little suspicious if she wasn't going to say the same thing about the Aklor. He'd be pretty annoyed if it turned out there wasn't really much that was important to know about it...
He glanced down, frowning as she instructed some of her pokemon to stick with Mako and Ten, before looking back to her. "You veren't planning to bring zem vis us?" he muttered. He'd fully intended to just pick up Ten and carry her. She was only, what... ten minutes old? And sure, he could have his own pokemon look after her, too, since he wasn't going to trust that to anyone but his own, but it seemed pretty irresponsible to just leave her regardless. Besides, he preferred to keep his pokemon close when they just hatched....

"R-right, yes. Heheh...heh..." Gavyn responded with a bit of a nervous laugh. Good thing that his answer wasn't taken seriously enough to question further. He still wasn't sure how he'd even go about telling anyone about how he happened to be in the wrong time period. If people believed him, would they call him a witch? Try and burn him at the stake? Or would they just dismiss him as crazy? Either way, he felt he should be more careful about what he said from now on, even if he was a bit disorientated at the time.
When Gavyn looked around for Jin, he didn't see the person he knew as Jin. Evan said that he was fine, though, so... He did notice that there was a bipedal fox thing carrying Asriel around. It must be one of sable's or Darren's pokemon, since it didn't seem like they were trying to steal him. Not to mention, said fox was fending off the grunt's pokemon here and there. He quietly accepted Evan's hand up, getting to his feet. Gavyn sighed, then felt embarrassment hit him like a brick wall. He had fainted, causing this guy he had just met to go take care of him while he was out. "U-umm... s-sorry... for uh.... I mean... thank you..." he tried to thank Evan for watching him after he fainted, but it came out so sheepishly and disconnected that he only got more flustered.
"Gavy! There are quite a few ruffians out and about are you alright?" Merlin finally came on the scene, having dodged past the few straggling, fighting grunts to go over to Gavyn. Who was now in the company of a stranger. The Clefairy looked between the two with a toothy grin. Gavy was standing rather close to the green haired male still, which was surprising to the fairy. Usually his trainer was a lot more aware of 'space'. "Well well. I'm surprised you made a friend without me, Gavy!" Merlin commented with a light teasing tone. Gavyn blinked, then realized he was still standing in Evan's space, backing up a bit with a tinge of pink on his cheeks. "Evan, th-this is Merlin. Um, Merlin... Evan." Gavyn muttered an introduction. He was still embarrassed, but so glad to see that Merlin was alright.
Asriel squeaked a bit, clinging to Jin even more when the fox was attacked. He hid his face against his chest fur. At least the fluffmander was no longer sobbing. He was still whimpering here and there, though. "A-are you alright?" the pale lizard asked after the most recent attack. Evan waved a hand somewhat nonchalauntly, dismissing Gavyn's apologetic thank yous when it came to Evan having helped Gavyn out during his little fainting spell. "Think nothing of it." Evan added in just a s a Clefairy, seemingly a companion of Gayvn's made his appearance. The Clefairy's introduction gained Louhi's attention finally, the psychic looked back towards the two humans and joining Pokemon with a quirked brow. Louhi, despite his somewhat youthful appearance was a very old Pokemon. To think he was older than a century would be surprising to some humans, but when it comes to some Pokemon species, they can live for many years, some even ten times as long as humans. Needless to say, Louhi wasn't about to leave these choices of names to coincidence. He moved back to Evan's side, his eyes growing narrowed for but a moment after he looked over the Clefairy, and got a better look at Gavyn since he was now standing upright. Something did seem familiar about the pair, but he wasn't about to point anything out yet. Evan in the mean time held a smile upon his face as Gavyn introduced his Pokemon. "Nice to meet you." Evan replied. "Looks like you didn't have much trouble dealing with those ruffians though." Evan chuckled some. For whatever reason Evan was in a pretty good mood right now. The male's gaze turned back towards the straggling plasma grunts, still being beating up by their Pokemon. Honestly it was amazing they were still even trying to fight them. Talk about desperation.

Darren was somewhat satisfied when Sable finally conceded to rest, but it wasn't exactly a clean win. Calling out her scars and reckless behavior was a low blow, and made Darren feel rotten, but he needed to keep Sable safe at any cost. Thankfully Sable didn't seem to think he was as slimy as he felt, allowing him to inspect her injuries and talk things over with her without getting defensive, namely her head. She pointed out that the hit didn't feel like a bruise so much as a migraine, since there didn't feel like a connection to the pain and where she got hit, even though she knew the two were connected. "Yes, that makes perfect sense." Darren insisted with a gentle smile. He'd had a lot of experience with blunt force trauma sadly... "Here...." Darren said quietly, running his fingers under her hair and gently massaging her scalp. "Does that help, or does it hurt?" He asked, checking in with Sable to make sure he wasn't making things worse, but with Marigold healing the wound itself up, he was sure all that was left was the pressure Sable's head was getting, and a massage was the best cure he knew of to relieve headaches.
After a moment, Darren noticed that Gavyn was up again, and mentioned it offhandedly to Sable. She must have still been a little dazed from the hit though, because it took her a moment to realize what Darren had said, and even then, her answer didn't exactly suggest she had even heard him at all, other than muffled noise. Not that Darren could really blame her. She must have been more out of it than she was letting on; all the more reason to keep her here, where she was safe. It seemed that they weren't out of hot water just yet though, as two large shadowy figures entered the staging area; Zinzolin and his gothitelle. The former spoke up loudly and clearly, claiming that because they had resisted, they left him no choice other than liberating their pokemon by force. That gothitelle looked really strong too.... Great. Darren sighed, glancing towards Hercules and Zephyr. He needed them to continue keeping the grunts busy, and he needed Lapis to keep running potions as well as protect him and Sable but he couldn't sit back and watch Zinzolin attack people either.
"Pascal." Darren called out, summoning the chespin with a tap to the friend ball at his belt. Pascal stood attentively, getting a grip on his new surroundings before looking to Darren for an explanation. "I need you to go get ready to fight that gothitelle. You aren't going to be able to do it alone though, so wait until some other pokemon come help you out okay? And be careful." Darren insisted, and Pascal crossed his arms thoughtfully, as if debating Darren's instructions. He supposed he could help out, after all, the danger of the situation caught his interest. He was brave! He was bold! He laughed at danger! This was just his chance to prove it. Nodding affirmatively at Darren, the hedgehog ran off towards Zinzolin and his pokemon.

Scarlett was mildly surprised as Zak suddenly gave a legitimately helpful tip on training Poseidon suddenly. Did that mean he was accepting the exchange? Now this was a treat. He already knew blizzard, but she hadn't thought about training him against pokemon hoards. "Huh... Hoard trainin'.... Neu that's a smart way to go." Scarlett hummed. "Alright, fer one, I know it looks like a fish, but aklor daen't swim quite like one. They're heavy see, and in the wild they swim in small schools and make a little whirlpool to keep em movin'. Ya put her in the water alone an she'll sink right fast, so daen't do it n'less ya plan on heavin' that hunk of solid steel back to the surface with ya, savy?" She explained. "Also ifn ya plan on usin' her effectively in battle, ya might wanna stock up on mushrooms, they've got good strong jaws that make bitin' moves mare effective, but you'll need mushrooms in her diet to get there. Fire fang, ice fang, poison fang, the works. With that strong jaw of 'ers, she'll be a nightmare to go up against." Scarlett smirked, figuring the information should satisfy Zak.
When Zak suggested that they move on and find something else to do, she had agreed, but their pair of sharks would need some looking after, so Scarlett left Luna and Pearl with them both, or at least that's what she intended until Zak questioned that they wouldn't be bringing their pokemon with them. "Well they aren't exactly the mobile pokemon, so, no? I figured leavin' Pearl, Luna, and Mako together would fend off any grunt stupid enough ta try anythin'." She suggested with a quirk of a brow. Zak seemed pretty content to send his pokemon off and away all the time, so Scarlett had to wonder why he was hesitant to leave Ten on her own. Then again she did look young, which was why Scarlett stationed her pokemon with Mako for backup. Still that didn't seem sufficient for Zak, and Scarlett doubted anything would ever be unless Ten was safe in his arms. Scarlett bit back a small smile. This was.... Surprisingly paternal of him.
It was fine though, while he decided what to do about Ten, they still needed to figure out if they would just walk around or if he was looking to do something specific. It turned out that Zak had plans for the latter, suggesting that he could start showing her the basics of basketball. "Really? I wouldn't mind, but just how do you plan on pulling that off without a ball or a court?" She asked with a light chuckle. "Or are you just that good?~" She grinned. Honestly it wouldn't surprise her, but before she could dwell on it too long, frantic fluttering and chittering caught Scarlett's attention as Rave returned and landed on Scarlett's shoulder, panting. Scarlett frowned and straightened, the mood becoming a bit more serious upon the noibat's return. "Cypher, I need you for translations." Scarlett demanded, letting the porygon out while Rave caught her breath. "Captain! Zinzolin! He's... He's everywhere!" Cypher translated Rave's nervous squeaks. "What do you mean he's everywhere?!" Scarlett asked.
As if to answer her question, another Zinzolin made his appearance, insisting that he would be liberating their pokemon by force while he stood next to a powerful gothitelle. "Somethin' about this daen't sit right with me...." Scarlett growled lowly. Rave had probably caught sight of one Zinzolin and come back to alert Scarlett, only to see others along the way, and now this one had shown up. She was more than willing to bet these were decoys and the real Zinzolin was making his escape, unless he was actually brave and confident enough to show his face in at least one of the areas. Scarlett glanced to her small pile of pokemon. "Pearl, change of plans. Get ready to fight that gothitelle." She instructed. It seemed that they wouldn't be walking around after all, so she didn't need guards for Ten any more.
Mako chuckled lightly as his bouncing surprised the little aklor, since she had to instinctively bite down and lock herself into place to avoid falling off. He hadn't intended for her to take a tumble, but he couldn't blame her for the concern. When Zinzolin appeared and Pearl was summoned to go battle though, Mako grumbled, voicing his annoyance. He wanted to fight too! "No no, you're staying put." Scarlett insisted. "If you go into battle, then your little friend will want to join you, and we can't have that." Scarlett insisted.

Jin let out a little grumble as he felt how stiff his body was. It seemed that one of those hits had left him reeling a bit more than he wanted to believe. Still, the dark type gave Asriel a forced smile when asked how he was."I'll be alright, but I could stand for some healing,"he admitted, trying to downplay how bad off he was to avoid worrying the little marshmallow of a pokemon any more than he probably already had."I'm pretty sure I saw one of those healer tents somewhere around here. It should give us a safe place to duck into for a few moments."It wasn't much, but it would be enough to get some of the straggling grunts off of their backs. And, as fortune would have it, Jin was right about one of the tents being nearby, so the zoroark wasted no time ducking in with his passenger. Lily followed the illusion fox pokemon inside, hot on his heels.
The nurse tending to the tent was a bit surprised at the sight of the three pokemon. Not their injuries - or lack thereof for two of them - but the fact that is was just the pokemon and no trainers."Oh my! Are you three alright? Do any of you have trainers?"the nurse asked as she went over to inspect the trio of pokemon."I think these two are okay, but they could stand to be looked over. And yes, we have trainers, we just got split up from them for a while. We should be able to find them again pretty easily once things aren't quite as chaotic,"Jin answered as the woman first looked over the two smaller pokemon. Even though he was worse off, he still felt like he could wait a moment or two while they got looked over. So, just to pass the slight bit of time that it took for the nurse to make sure the wounds Lily had taken earlier had healed up fully and that Asriel hasn't been injured by how much he had been jostled around, Jin decided to make a few updates to his movelist. He had a couple of good TMs and figured now would be the best time to get them used.
While Jin eventually got treated - as well as scolded for not speaking up about his own injuries - Sable and Darren were still elsewhere. With the issue of Sable's reluctance to stay out of trouble settled, the two could focus on making sure she was actually alright. And while, physically, Sable did feel okay in terms of injuries, a rather large migrane insisted on making itself known. Sable tried to explain that as best as she could, but the pain and disorientation she felt made her feel her words might have been muddled. Darren assured her that he understood, though, and began gently massaging her scalp. She wasn't entirely sure yet whether it had any effect on the migrane itself, but she couldn't help but like the sensation."...It helps..."Even though she wasn't entirely sure, Darren needed an answer, and even if it did end up causing her head to hurt more later, right now she was enjoying the sensation.
Perhaps she was enjoying it a bit too much, as between the relaxing massage and the attempt to focus on her breathing, Sable became rather distracted. Enough so that she didn't quite realize what Darren was saying, just that he was talking to her. She managed to get out a response, but Darren was quick to catch on that it was more a response to him talking rather than anything of substance. He didn't say anything about it, though, either due to not wanting to stress her out further or because things took a turn for the worse rather quickly. More likely the latter, as now that Sable was actually paying attention, she noticed that that weird sage guy returned, this time with a gothitelle leading the way. Once again, it seemed he wanted people to release their pokemon, only this time it looked like he was going to be taking the same approach as the grunts and forcing his will on the fairgoers. That didn't sit right with Sable, and apparently didn't go over well with Darren, either. While the tan-haired male sent out the chespin he had and asked Pascal to go help deal with the psychic pokemon, Sable sifted through her bag to reorganize her team a bit. Aku and Frizz would normally be good choices, but that gothitelle looked tough, so Sable swapped them out for a couple of her stronger pokemon instead."Bad time for Jin to have disappeared..."the teen commented as she looked around a bit. The zoroark would have been a good choice if he was around, but it was looking like she might have to rely on her other pokemon.
While Jin was busy being treated, Lily went and sniffed around at everything she could inside the tent's interior. Chairs, desks, tables, Asriel... Everything the little gekkit could reach ended up getting a few curious sniffs from the fairy fox. It might not have seemed like much, but sating the fairy type's curiosity took up enough time for Jin to be fully healed. The dark type even got his illusion back on before picking Asriel back up."Thank you for your help, miss Joy. Stay safe,"Jin told the woman gratefully, then cautiously poked his head out to take a look around. He could see where the group of pokemon were at and that they had moved to get themselves properly healed as well after the remaining grunts scattered. It might have just been that they had gotten tired of losing, but the zoroark noticed another probable reason behind the missing operatives, that being that their leader had reared his elderly mug. That seemed a bit off to the dark type, but he wasn't about to question it, not now. Jin also spotted what he was looking for, which was the whereabouts of Sable and the others."Right, first thing's first... Stay close in case any more of those grunts pop out,"he warned, mostly directing his words towards Lily since he was already holding Asriel close. He then started to cautiously make his way through the area to where Gavyn and Evan were at.

Though Evan had accepted and brushed off his attempt at thanking him, Gavyn still felt a bit embarrassed by the situation. Luckily, Merlin came back, at least taking the focus off of himself for the moment. Gavyn was rather relieved to see his fairy companion. He had been worried that he might have gotten taken by one of the grunts or something. After all... it sounded like since Merlin didn't belong to a pokeball, that it would be very simple and easy for him to just be taken away. Merlin seemed to sense this, smiling up at his trainer briefly before Evan's reply to the introduction. "Wonderful to meet you, Evan. " he commented, lifting the purple wizard hat off the top of his head a bit before setting it back down. "Heh, It'd take a lot more hooligans to rough me up that badly~" he commented after Evan's chuckle, giving a bit of a chuckle of his own.
Introduction aside, the Clefairy couldn't help but get the feeling he was being eyed. He looked around to find that there was a very familiar looking Kadabra looking at him and Gavy. Too familiar to be coincidence. Could... he actually still be around? Did he happen to recognize him and Gavy? Well... this felt awkward. The pink pokemon didn't bring this to anyone's attention, trying to pretend like he didn't notice. Luckily, he didn't have to do that for long, since a bigger baddy seemed to come on the scene with a rather strong looking psychic type. It was certainly enough to grab the attention of many.
"O-oh dear..." Gavyn mumbled nervously after someone that looked tougher than the grunts showed up, sending out a pokemon he wasn't very familiar with. It seemed like it was going to put up a tough fight that might require everyone's participation. "Um... Mer?" Gavyn questioned his companion. The Clefairy was staring over at the Gothitelle, but looked up as his trainer addressed him. "You should probably send Beth out to deal with this, Gavy. I'm not that great against a Psychic type." Merlin replied, seeming to know what his trainer was inquiring. "Are you... hurt? D-did you get knocked around that much...?" Gavyn asked his companion, but let the Grotle out of her ball anyways. She blinked, then shook, bushes on her back rustling with the movement. "Nothing too bad, Gavy. Don't worry about it. I just want to be available in case any of these other grunts try to creep up behind us." Merlin replied. Marigold seemed to stay nearby, understanding that much like Lapis, she was going to likely be taking care of the wounded and trying to help pokemon stay at full health when she could.
"B-beth... It looks like I'll be needing you to prepare for battle soon. Are you alright with this?" Gavyn finally addressed his starter. The grass type turned to look up at him, then gave a cheery sound in reply. It felt like it had been quite a while since she was called into battle, and she was always happy to help out her trainer.
Asriel gave a small nod at Jin's reply, but was still concerned. He wish he could be strong, too, and keep these bad guys from hurting others. Once at a healing tent, the fluffmander kept looking over to Jin, confused as to why he wasn't getting checked first. The nurse poked around at him to see that he was fine, doing the same for Lily, the other odd fox pokemon that was in the group. Finally, while Jin was getting treated - and scolded for not speaking up first about his wounds - Lily ended up sniffing everywhere. "H-hey stop that tickles!" Asriel squeaked as he was sniffed, flailing his arms a bit. She was... kinda weird. At least she didn't mean any harm, though. It seemed as she was finished sniffing pretty much everything, Jin was done being cared for, taking up a different appearance before picking the fluffmander up. Asriel tilted his head, looking at the disguised pokemon curiously. "Why do you choose to look like that...? How does it work?" he asked while being carried back towards where the trainers were.

Good company made greater with the presence of this Clefairy, Even let himself grow a bit more relaxed. The grunts for the most part had skedaddled. However, after a bit of back and forth with Merlin, another man appeared from within the crowd of dispersing grunts. His presence seemed to put the whole fair on stop, his voice trailed across to stop everyone in their place. Even a nearby play that was barely audible seemed to stop as actors and audience alike started to notice this man and his words. This guy was giving Evan the heebie jeebies. Seeing Gavyn ready a Pokemon to battle, Evan looked to his own companions. Everyone looked pretty beat up, Save Louhi. "Louhi-" 'Of course.' The Kadabra interrupted, moving his gaze to Evan before turning around and heading over towards Gayvn's Grotle. Holding up his twisted spoon and slightly bent spoon into the air a bit higher, the psychic seemed to begin concentrating. This wasn't going to be an easy fight, given Louhi's lack of battling as of late... well, it wasn't like he battled at all during his many years. His previous trainer hadn't really been that much for battling.
The rest of Evan's team took this opening chance to return to their trainer, receiving much earned praise and a few potions so they could rest. Saga took her place at Evan's side, watching the impending field that would soon be house of many attacks flying every which way. That Gothitelle looked abnormally strong, which worried the gecko some. She'd store her strength just in case she was needed. Zoro having fought quite a bit was tuckered out, not like he'd admit it though. However, it seemed the small Zorua wasn't entirely able to use his illusionary abilities to return to this human image, for the time being he took to resting in the shade Origin cast. Fylgia took to the underside of Origin, finding using the large dino as a shelter in her best interest.

The russian eyed Scarlett as she seemed to ponder over the advice he had to share. He figured it was all probably pretty standard, but luckily for him, she did seem to gleam something from it, and a smirk crossed his face at the compliment. He was glad she thought so. Even more glad when she started spilling some useful information of her own. It seemed like the kind of thing he could probably have found after some researching, but he had to admit, some if might have taken a bit more digging than he would have liked. It seemed that she might have actually saved him some time, and now he knew at least one thing he should aim to get while he was here-- a few 'mushrooms' for Ten's diet. "Sound advice, Mishka," he finally remarked lifting his head a bit. A fair trade, after all.
And speaking of Ten, Zak couldn't help frowning a bit at Scarlett's suggestion that her pokemon would be good enough coverage for the little Aklor. He didn't seem convinced, and in fact, her assumption was rather accurate. For some reason, though, he didn't quite comment. Perhaps because he was actually considering it, or maybe he was waiting for her to just dismiss the idea on her own, or maybe he was thinking of a compromise. Ten... was a little heavy, after all.
He did smirk as the topic was shifted to basketball, however, and tilted his head to the side with a dashing sort of smile. "I am zat good," he replied confidently, but then jabbed a thumb back towards his backpack. "But I also happen to have a basketball I can enflate to use." He frowned as their discussion was interrupted by one of Scarlett's pokemon, and he placed a hand on his hip as he eyed the pokemon. His gaze shifted towards the porygon when it translated, and his gaze quickly darkened. He immediately began looking around, and though he assumed it would appear he was looking for Zinzoline, that wasn't quite the case. No, he was looking instead for the agent he had encountered earlier. How was she going to be playing a role in all of this....
Unable to spot her, his gaze was instead drawn towards the towering figure that arrived-- a gothitelle. A scowl crossed his face and Zak rolled his eyes, but he soon turned towards his pokemon and swept his gaze over. Daeva was a good choice, of course, but he wasn't sure if she needed the battle experience as much as the others. Rufflet, unfortunately, didn't have any moves that would work well here. So, his next choice....
Waiting until his pokemon had finished with their battles, Zak lifted his voice. "Vorota, get over here," he called, jerking his head towards Zinzolin and his pokemon. The blastoise perked up and looked over, before beginning to lumber his way. He turned his gaze back around to narrow his eyes at the opponent pokemon, but glanced down as Scarlett's pokemon grumbled over her choice. He smirked, though, as Ten gave a near perfect mimicry of the sound, wiggling a bit on top of him. She probably didn't even know what he was saying-- she was just repeating the sound. At least she was responding and, hopefully, learning through her environment.

The intimidating appearance did come in handy from time to time, though."As for how I do it, I'm... Not really sure. I just think of an image, and it appears. I dunno, I'll probably duck out of sight somewhere,"he told the duo, a little bit of a lie present, before starting on his way towards where he saw Sable and Darren sitting at.

Given that Darren wasn't likely to allow Sable to go over herself, though, the most she could do was sort through the pokemon she had on-hand in an attempt to find any that would at least do alright in the coming battle, even if she wasn't with them. That's why it was a bit of a relief when the sound of footsteps made her look up and see that Jin had returned."Hey, what took ya?"Sable asked as the dark type set down the little fairy fox he had been carrying."Ah, you know, had to go drop Asriel off with Gavyn and Evan,"the disguised Zoroark replied while giving Lily a pat on the head before straightening up."I figured it'd be a lot better for him to be with his trainer than to stick around me and risk getting into more trouble."Sable had to resist the urge to nod along with Jin's explanation. It was sensible enough, if nothing else.
The teen frowned briefly as she thought of what to say. She had originally planned on asking Jin to help with the fight, but recalled that he didn't usually seem up for battling. Sure, he was doing quite a bit of it for a while, but that was more because he was provoked."So...""Hm?"Sable was distracted from her thoughts when Jin spoke up and looked up at him as he jutted a thumb towards the gothitelle."Ya mind if I go and help deal with that thing? Kinda my fault you guys got dragged into this mess in the first place, so I might as well get my hands dirty cleaning it up,"he offered, which wasn't quite what Sable was expecting. Then again, given everything else, she wouldn't be surprised if he still felt rather aggrevated."Yeah, just hang on a sec,"she told him before fishing a couple items out of her bag: A pair of glasses and some sort of headband."Do you think you'll mostly be using physical attacks or special attacks?"Jin chuckled a bit before taking the pair of glasses from his trainer."I did a bit of changing up for my moveset, so special,"he answered as he put on the glasses. At least it would make his attacks hit a bit harder.
With that taken care of, Sable looked around a bit."Were you wanting to find some cover of some sort? I kinda figure you'd rather not blow your illusion out in the open. At least, not this one,"Sable asked, only for Jin to stretch a bit."Nah, might as well put this thing to actual use,"he replied dismissively as his illusionary form shimmered a bit, and soon the stretching teen was replaced with the appearance of a mega beedrill, save for the eye color being an icy blue rather than the usual red."Might be able to goad this thing into a psychic attack or two, looking like this,"the disguised fox relayed as Sable finished swapping her pokemon around. He then made his way over to the impromptu battlefield, feeling he was ready to deal with whatever might be tossed his way.

Scarlett was admittedly a bit relieved that Zak accepted her advice as fair trade. It wasn't like she was holding anything back from him, but given that he boasted how good he was at obtaining information, it was difficult to know what he information he would consider as saving him time like she had promised. With that cleared up, and the two of them at a bit of an impasse as far as what to do with Ten, the subject changed briefly to basketball again, since Scarlett had inquired how Zak planned to teach her basketball moves without a court or a ball, unless he was just that good. Zak accepted the latter suggestion a little too easily, making Scarlett grin. A man with such confidence in his abilities was rather attractive to Scarlett after all, but she also learned that he kept a deflated basketball on him, which was very useful information. Given all the talk and boasting, Scarlett knew he liked basketball and was good at it, but the fact that he kept a ball on him said something. This wasn't just a hobby, or some after school activity that happened to stick with him. Zak was really into the sport, which meant she was into a run for her money when they faced off in Castelia later, but.... It was going to be worth it. She would have to research this with Cypher later. After all, one didn't get this good at a sport by practicing at home. Someone somewhere had to have seen him at his best, played him, or took pictures. This was the lead she needed on digging up his identity.
Before Scarlett could comment though, Rave made a rather.... Spectacular return, squeaking and flapping her wings frantically so that her interruption was duly noted. Cypher translated what the noibat had picked up on, which happened to be the fact that there were apparently Zinzolins showing up all over the fair. As if on cue, another Zinzolin made himself known in their area, boasting a powerful gothitelle by his side. Scarlett pulled Pearl over and sent her in line with the other pokemon preparing to take Zinzolin on, noting that Zak was doing the same with his mega blastoise. It was a bit annoying to have the blastoise as a shining example of how far ahead in training he was compared to her, but Scarlett's anger was honed in on Zinzolin, and Zinzolin alone. Now was not the time to be making enemies with Zak by complaining about his pokemon after all.
At least Zak seemed amused by Mako's quiet grumbling complaint, and Scarlett was even more so as Ten mimicked the ankalor all too happily for such an annoyed sound. "Heh~ At this rate, I think Mako is going to adopt your little new team addition." Scarlett suggested teasingly. With all the pokemon gathered at the scene, ready to fight, Pearl was the first to make a move, leaping at the gothitelle and clamping down with her jaws in a hard bite to the side before retreating, giving the other pokemon enough space to attack as well without getting herself caught in the crossfire.
