David sat in silence as Shinji worked his way through the profile, not wishing to interrupt him as he went through the thought processes necessary. Usually, those profiles held only your basic information as a genin graduate, and as you improved yourself they were updated by office workers based on mission reports and ANBU observations. To fill one out yourself after becoming a chuunin... It was bound to be painstaking at the very least.

He of course took note of the pain flashing across Shinji's face, and body, but remained silent. It was an oddity that he had observed since the moment he'd seen the Konaga, and one he had unfortunately had opportunity to experience, if only for a moment. But that moment had been the closest to death he had ever been, even counting the year long coma following Cloverfield's assault. No, he wouldn't speak on it now. But he would watch, and learn more about this bloodline.

So, while Shinji went over the paperwork, David went over his own, pulling papers from stacks and skimming them over, setting some aside and stacking others before himself. Unknown to Shinji, these papers were mostly about himself, and of course, his destroyed village. Contrary to all conventional thought, the destruction of Iwagakure, while fairly well known by now, was still a mystery. The most anyone really knew was that it had happened, but so many theories and rumors had run down the line that it was impossible to say how. Some said it had been an attack by an overwhelming army. Some claimed it was simple political collapse, that the Tsuchikage had died, and nobody was capable of taking her place. There was even rumor that they had lost control of their jinchuuriki, and that that was what destroyed them. All these theories and more decorated the papers littering David's desk, and he was having a hard time telling which were more accurate.

But he had something better. Two Iwagakure ninja had fallen into his lap, and they would know better than anyone how it had happened. If there was an attacker destroying villages, he could prepare, and if they came to Suna, he would kill them. He had not been made kage lightly, even if he was the last probable choice. Shinji might have thought he didn't know how it felt to hold so tightly to your home village. But he would be wrong. Sunagakure was not his home in his eyes, it was his possession. It, and all the people within it were his. Whether they loved him, hated him, feared him, or revered him, it mattered not a bit, they were his, and he preserved what was his. If anyone so much as threatened his village, he would destroy them, and bury them in the endless desert sands.

As Shinji finished his profile and handed it over, David set aside a report he had been skimming, claiming that an army of vengeful squirrels had destroyed Iwagakure, with the evidence being that in the weeks afterwards the squirrel population had risen drastically in the entire world, and they were supposedly actively assaulting and robbing ninja on the roads. Nonsense of the highest order, but amusing nonetheless.

Quickly skimming over the profile, David nodded to himself, muttering occasionally in a tone so low even the ANBU likely couldn't understand it. He skipped over most of the information entirely, giving only a glance to certain areas, and moved directly to skills. Doton and Katon seemed to be Shinji's main elements, which amused David greatly, as besides the sand granted to him by the Ichibi, those were his own as well. There was a definite focus on Doton, most likely his main element.

Setting the profile down, David gave one final nod, satisfied for the most part. There was little mention of the Konaga, which disappointed him, but as bloodlines weren't exactly a large focus in the profile, he didn't really expect much either. Normally, he'd have asked a few questions about the bloodline at this point, but there were other matters to attend to.

"This will do fine. We will of course be testing you on some of this information to confirm it. Not all of course, as that would take longer than either of us can afford. Now, this will allow you access to all of the shinobi facilities available to members of the village. You have all freedoms a member of our village has. Except, of course, for missions, which will still be directly assigned to you until further notice. For now, you are on probation until we have deemed your testing period over, meaning, beyond the mission rule, you will be watched at all times by ANBU operatives. This is part of the testing. You may act as if they are not even there, as, if I hadn't told you, you wouldn't know they were. They will be observing your interactions with the people, and your general behavior. And I assure you, should you act in any way but your natural, they will know." David allowed himself a smirk as he finished. It would take a master beyond any chuunin's level to fool an ANBU into believing they were anything they were not. "I hope this is agreeable to you?" he asked, raising one eyebrow and looking into Shinji's eyes. Not that it mattered. Whether it was agreeable or not, it was fact, and he was only looking to confirm Shinji understood the terms before moving on to more directly important things.

User ImageNomiya Yasashii
~

Yasashii gazed skeptically up at the towering edifice of a building, stopped in the street just outside. The thing was, immense. He doubted there was even any real purpose in the place being so huge, being, quite frankly, such a target. In fact, there was evidence that repairs had just been done on the building recently. Building supplies laying about, scaffolding still present on the highest floors, and of course, some bits of rubble on the ground in the area that hadn't yet been carted away. This must be the results of the rumored attack against the village recently. Obviously the rumors weren't quite accurate though, as the entire village was not a smoking heap, but there was truth to every error, and apparently something had happened. But, that wasn't why he was here.

Giving up his perusal of the building, Yasashii completed his walk inside, looking around until he spotted what he assumed to be a secretary, from her positioning and actions, those being behind a desk doing paperwork, he approached her, standing silently before the desk until, putting a period on her last sentence, she looked up at him inquiringly.

"Hello, I'm here to inquire about getting a license to practice fuinjutsu as a civilian?" Yasashii spoke, making his statement out as a question, as he wasn't entirely sure he was in the right place. He was in luck however, as the woman, despite giving him an odd look, turned and pulled some papers from a file by her desk, sliding them over the desk towards him. "This is an application for a civilian's ninjutsu license. Simply fill it out for what you're wanting." she spoke, pointing to a table on the other end of the room where he could work. Nodding his thanks, Yasashii headed for the small table, setting himself down in the accompanying chair, and began to read over the form. Two minute later, he had filled it out, returning to the secretary, who, to his surprise, took the form and silently began to read it over herself. Perhaps she was a bit more than a secretary after all?

Civilian Ninjutsu License Application
Name: Nomiya Yasashii
Ninjutsu Field: Fuinjutsu
What rank would you attribute to your skills in this field?: A Rank
How did you learn these skills?: Apprenticeship
Do you have any other ninja skills?: Yes
If so, what skills, and what rank?: Academy Basics
What do you intend to do with your skills?: Open a sealing store.

After reading over the paper, the woman gave Yasashii another odd look, as if unsure that the man standing before her really held the skills he claimed (A thought that amused Yasashii greatly, though he did not show it.), before she simply picked up a stamp, stamped the form, and set it in a box on the side of her desk. Pulling what looked to be a blank piece of rather sturdy paper, plastic even, from her desk, the woman performed a ninjutsu Yasashii didn't recognize on it, before handing it to him, and silently returning to her work, apparently done speaking with him. Looking at the small piece of material, Yasashii found that whatever she had done had etched words into the material. "Nomiya Yasashii, licensed for the professional usage of Fuinjutsu within Sunagakure." It was all very professional looking he supposed, and the jutsu had somehow even etched a picture of his face onto what he now realized was his license. On the back of the card there was even a note allowing him library access, though to a limited degree. If he wanted access to anything but fuinjutsu scrolls, he'd have to find another method. If he hadn't known better, he'd swear the woman had used the "Secret Information Cards" technique, but that only lasted so long as the ninja kept up the flow of chakra, so it couldn't have been.

Smiling, Yasashii pocketed the mysterious piece of plastic, and with a smile and a wave to the woman, turned to leave the building. Now he just had to find a realtor, so he could buy a place to set up shop. Once that was done though... Yes, once that was done he would be in good shape indeed. he had spotted a few simple seals for sale in the market, but no shops dedicated entirely to the art, to where they could sell what he could. Entire arrays at once.

Konaga Shinji
| Konaga Clan | Speed/Offensive Type | Iwagakure | Chuunin |
|| Shinobi Profession: Teaching Master || RPC Profile ||

As David read over the profile, Shinji waited silently, his muscles continuing to ache from the sudden surge in his chakra earlier. To his dismay, his focus on the pain seemed to cause it to flare up again, making his skin feel like it was on fire. His veins carrying what felt like streams of lava through them, Shinji felt the burning pain flow throughout his body, sending wave after wave of pain through him, making the aching soreness of his muscles worse. He managed to keep his eyes open this time, but winced several times as he bore the pain silently, his eyes glazed over, apparently focusing jhard on ignoring the pain.

Eventually, it was gone, at least as much as a Konaga's pain ever is and he was able to relax, though his shortness of breath carried forward, leaving him breathing heavily as David finished perusing his profile and then addressed him. Nodding in confirmation as David spoke, Shinji grew a small smirk as he realized a boy he had beaten in the Chuunin exams was now in charge of him and giving him orders, but he supposed that was the way of things. Some individuals are forced to take seats in a higher rank for various reasons and the Iwagakure, though it was growing at one point, had lost its power and ranking system due to instability, leaving him at Chuunin.

However, acknowledging that the past was the past, Shinji focused on David once more, listening to and accepting the terms of his contract. It would seem that for the time being, missions would be assigned to him as part of his 'testing' period and an ANBU guard would always be watching him. Not surprising really... what reason did they have to trust him? Not that Shinji had any ill-intent, but knowing the shinobi world was as it was, it all made perfect sense. When David finally finished, Shinji nodded his head in acceptance of the terms, "They sound agreeable enough. I understand the terms of the contract, or agreement, or whatever you want to call it. My only question at this point is 'Where do I sleep?'... beyond that, I'll be fine figuring out everything else on my own. I'm sure you'll be able to find me when I'm required for a mission."

Shinji didn't think that would be the end of it, but he wanted to put those points in there just the same. He was an independent and curious person. He didn't want anyone to think he needed to be hand-held or given a tour of the village. He could do that all by himself when given the opportunity.

David smiled at Shinji's reactions, somewhat amused by his closing question. "I suppose that's up to you." he responded flippantly, waving one hand in a dismissive gesture as he leaned back in his rather too large for him chair. "You could rent an apartment in the residential district. If you have the funds, you could even buy a house. The realtor is right outside our front door here. If neither of those appeal, you could always find a bench in the market, though it'd be a bit cold at night. There's some rooms in the training facility outfitted with beds too, but I wouldn't recommend them. They're used for assassination practice." he finished, his smile curving into a vicious grin at the thought of someone napping in an assassination bed. Ah, sleep. The vice of all these normal people, and a pleasure he would never again have himself. He could barely remember how it felt to have your body fully rested.

"Now..." he muttered, his grin fading back to his normal bored look as quickly as it had appeared. "On to business." he muttered again, grabbing up a few of the papers on his desk and flipping through them until he seemed to have found one he liked. "I have here a large stack of reports on the fall of Iwagakure, all from most reputable sources. Beggars, widows, superstitious fools, the occasional child or mind addled retard..." As he spoke he flipped one page after the next of the reports across the desk to Shinji. "As I am fairly certain that Iwagakure was not in fact destroyed by... An army of rabid ninja squirrels... A giant homicidal nun... Or "Death Spank", the demon god of bacon..." During each pause, David looked down and read from an actual sheet in his hands before flicking it over to Shinji, who would find that each were indeed listed in the reports. "I'd love to hear the real story. As much fun as these are to read, and as excellent as they would be for a gossip magazine, if there is a village destroyer on the loose, I want to know as much as I can about it." As he finished, David tossed the entire rest of the stack of reports over to Shinji's side of the desk. If he chose to read them, he would find that most were similar to the ones David had listed, and some even worse. Having finished, David crossed his arms on the desk, watching Shinji expectantly.

Konaga Shinji
| Konaga Clan | Speed/Offensive Type | Iwagakure | Chuunin |
|| Shinobi Profession: Teaching Master || RPC Profile ||

Shinji let a small laugh escape passed his closed lips with a bit of a 'hmmmph' noise as David's suggestions of where he could sleep amused him. Not that he actually needed to 'sleep' per say, but any secluded area would do as well as the next. Shinji would be just as happy creating a hole in the ground and resting there as long as no one was around to observe his glowing aura. The thought came to him that he could just dig a hole in the ground using his earth jutsu and live underneath the Sunagakure, but then he thought to himself... "Who lives in a hole?"

Shrugging his shoulders, Shinji figured he would figure it all out somehow just as his face winced as a sudden sharp pain shot through his body, as if he had been suddenly stabbed in the back. Normally, one might turn to see their assailant, but Shinji knew better, as it was simply his bloodline acting up again. The pain was momentary however, a sudden distraction not worth worrying over, no matter how agonizing it was for that mere second. The questions that followed however dampened his mood far worse then his bloodline pain did. As the questions were asked of him, the young shinobi seemingly making light of the situation, horror scenes of dead children and collapsed buildings with screams and chaos flashed through his mind as the destruction of his home village was brought up once again...

Shinji had been a first hand witness, a survivor, and one of the few of that terrible tragedy. Locked in his mind for several moments, Shinji didn't even bother to look at the papers in front of him and said nothing for a while, his mind still racing with the memories of his now destroyed village.Ignoring the fact that David was treating such a personally devastating tragedy as a mere report to be joked about, Shinji considered at first not answering, but the truth was that if it happened to Iwagakure, it could happen to another village... and if he said nothing to warn them, he would never be able to forgive himself...

"It seemed like nothing at first..." Shinji started off, speaking solemnly and seriously, a tone of guilt in his words as if it were his fault he did not see the risk earlier... "Something like ash began to fall across the entire village. We figured it was just a volcanic eruption from the mountains, and the ash was spreading to the village. Teams were dispatched to investigate, but they found nothing." Shinji almost began to choke on his words a bit, but caught himself and continued on, speaking in short sentences, trying to piece together the chaos of the events as he experienced them into a descriptive story... "The entire village was soon covered in the ash, and it wasn't going away. We considered it nothing until suddenly weird things started to happen. Kunai began to lift off of people's packs and float in the air, metal objects began to float around, even distort

"Then the worst of it started..." Shinji's voice was filled with pain as one would expect of someone describing the imagery of his village and his people being destroyed and killed before his very eyes... "Larger objects began to move, kunai flew about, killing people at random. Sword, spears, axes... they flew about the streets, killing civilians and ninja before they even knew what was happening. We all started to evacuate people below the surface, but it was too late. Iron beams and girders were crushing people into walls. In the chaos I was able to activate my chakra sight, but everything was blurred... chakra was everything, flowing through the village like a net... and up above... a great mass of energy in the shape of a human floated above the village with a signature as strong as a Konaga's."

"When I heard the low groaning noise, I knew it was too late, so I hurried the people I could below the surface. We were there for only a few minutes before we suddenly heard a piercing shriek followed by a massive collision above, the magnitude of which was immense... the sound of metal slamming up against metal sounded across the entire village as strone, rocks, wood...people... everything was destroyed instantaneously. Was the Iwagakure not the village it was, the ground itself I'm sure would have split open... but everyone who got below the surface was saved. when we came up to the surface... everything... everyone... all of it, was crushed or utterly destroyed, and the aura which was present before was gone... as was the ash. People fled the city in fear, leaving only a select few behind to scrounge through the rubble."

"We didn't even attempt to bury the bodies..." Shinji's description ended suddenly... he could say no more. He simply sat there, rubbing his hands together as a way to keep himself sane and controlled through the description. He had given David what he needed to hear... he didn't need any further detail. He simply sat there and waited for the man to ask any follow up questions, but in his heart, he didn't want any. Just describing it all was flooding memories back into his head, as the trauma of the situation continued to plague him and play through over and over in his mind.

David was surprised at first by the tone Shinji took as he spoke of the destruction of his village. Fighting him in the exams, meeting him earlier that day, and all through their interactions since, he had taken the boy to be rather high spirited. But now, now he sounded like someone had torn that spirit right out of him, and that worried him almost as much as the words he was saying.

The story though... It was as unbelievable as most of the reports David had just put down as the work of idiots and fools. Floating objects? Flying swords attacking people? A village collapsing upon itself, and a flying human with apparently incredible chakra? David couldn't sense chakra himself, but the guard report on Shinji said that he had "More chakra than I've ever sensed". And that came from a sensor who had been guarding the gates since the first Kazekage. He had fought alongside the village against the Ichibi, the Hachibi, and Cloverfield. Yet this boy who sat before him supposedly had more chakra than any of those. And said boy was comparing the destroyer of his village to his bloodline's chakra levels.

As Shinji finished his story, David leaned back in his chair, frowning and remaining completely silent. So, whoever they were looking for was incredibly powerful, and had, if he didn't miss his guess, some sort of magnetic abilities. Abilities similar to his own sand powers... Strangely, at the thought of this, the Ichibi, who he had long since taken to completely ignoring, went completely silent. A state that affected David more than the constant screaming ever could these days. But, all the prodding David made couldn't make the demon speak again and explain just why it had gone quiet, as it seemed to have retreated into the farthest corner of his mind. The occasional mad giggling was oddly reassuring however, as it implied that whatever this was, while the Ichibi apparently knew of it, it found it more amusing than worrying, and simply didn't want to share. That seemed to be an annoying habit of the beast, playing with David's mind the same way David often played with others.

Scowling slightly at the failed attempt to communicate with his passenger, David looked up at Shinji again, realizing that he was still sitting there, looking shockingly traumatized. The boy needed something to distract himself... David had some ideas, but he still had to meet the other Iwa nin, so there wasn't time just yet... He would ask a couple more questions and let the boy be on his way.

"If you saw this man again." David spoke up abruptly, referring, obviously, to the chakra sight Shinji had mentioned. "Would you recognize him?" The question was simple enough, but hid a deeper meaning, if ever so slight, behind it. He was asking Shinji not if he could spot the man who destroyed his village, but if he could point him out, target him. Suna and Iwa had never really had an alliance, but they had been on peaceful terms for years. The very fact that they had been destroyed put this man at the top of David's watch list, and he would even entertain the thought of going after him even if he never set foot in Suna, should he be found.

Konaga Shinji
| Konaga Clan | Speed/Offensive Type | Iwagakure | Chuunin |
|| Shinobi Profession: Teaching Master || RPC Profile ||

As his former opponent behind the desk in front of him digested the information Shinji just gave him, Shinji's head hung low and stared at the ground, his mind clearly entrapped by the memory of the story he just recounted. As if taking advantage of his weak emotional status, his bloodline chakra suddenly flared, sending waves of pain throughout Shinji's body as his face cringed and winced at the flood of emotional and physical pain he was feeling. His face still facing the ground, Shinji's hands went to the sides of his temple, trying to silence the pain which screamed through his body to no avail. the pain raged on through his body, sweeping through him like a raging inferno which was slowing eating him alive from the inside out.

However, finally realizing what he was doing to himself, Shinji forced his eyes to open and he confronted the pain as he always did, his own will engaging in combat with his own body as the pain slowly beginning to fade as his force of will forced it back into the normal baseline levels of pain. finally gaining control of himself, Shinji was still breathing heavily, but he lifted his head, his face regaining much of the composure he had earlier in the meeting as he forced a grin to come to his face, congratulating himself on winning the battle against his own chakra as he finally turned his gaze back to David.

"You are a Konaga... and contrary to common belief, you dictate the effect your pain has on you." Shinji's fathers words rang through his mind as clearly as if his old man was leaning against the wall to his left. Shinji could practically see the man saying that very phrase over and over again during his early childhood and a smile came to his face as he realized that the wise old Konaga was not just referring to his bloodline pain. feeling a surge of pride well up inside him, Shinji cast off the shadow the trauma of the destruction of his village had cast on him and sat up straight in his chair once more, just as David asked him if he could identify the man he saw that day if he saw him again.

"It's hard to say..." Shinji said with much more clarity and confidence in his voice then he had displayed minutes earlier... "I'd have to be using my Chakra Sight ability to see him, and I'm only capable of using it every so often without suffering some painful side effects. If I saw him again however, I'm sure I could identify him. The chakra signature was irregular and erratic and much more powerful then even the typical high level shinobi. Such a signature if it presented itself again, would stick out like a sore thumb. However, I'm afraid to say that that I would likely not be able to identify the man based on appearances alone. with the chaos of the situation around me at the time, I was not able to get a good look at the man."

"However, what I will say is that if I saw the same technique, I'd recognize it in a second... it has a rather unique signature to it and I'm sure I could identify it on sight."
Shinji was now showing his typical confidence again and was locking the chakra signatures he saw that day into his memory. He would make a note to use his Chakra Sight every now and again to examine the village to make sure such a signature did not present itself again. Not that he had any evidence that the one who destroyed Iwagakure would move on to the Sunagakure, but it would be foolish not to be vigilant of such a threat in the wake of what had already occurred.

David smiled as, even after watching Shinji go through what appeared to be a cycle of intense depression and pain, both physical and emotional, he pulled himself together, assuring David that he could recognize, if not the man, his technique. The reference to pain raised David's eyebrows for a moment, but he let it pass, deeming it one of the few inconsistencies he had noted in his studies of Shinji's behavior. The boy seemed in constant pain, yet did not fear damaging his body, as that was a pain he barely felt. Yet at the same time, he wished to avoid certain other forms of pain.

Laying his palms on the desk, David stood to his full, if unimpressive, height, signifying by his body language that the meeting was over. "I will be counting on you should he appear again then. I assume of course, that you will wish to assist in... Removing him." David said with a strange smile that contained little humor. "For now though, you are free to go. Explore the village, find a place to rest, eat again if you'd like." he continued, waving an arm towards the window of the room where a good portion of the village could be seen outside. He wasn't exactly sure what Shinji would want to do first, but he wasn't going to throw him straight into missions the day he arrived in the village. "Oh, and please send the secretary in on your way out." he added as an afterthought. He wasn't used to having a secretary, and had almost forgotten the woman sitting outside his door. Her presence would surely make certain things easier though.

As David stood up to signal the end of the meeting, Shinji stood up as well, matching his posture. When David spoke, signifying that he would be counting on his assistance should the attacker come to the Sungakure, Shinji smiled and accepted the proposal with a nod. "You can't count on me all the way. If he makes his presence known here, I'll find you immediately and assist in 'removing' him happily. Besides, if anyone is going to 'remove' him, it should be an Iwagakure shinobi." Shinji spoke his last words with conviction and then listened to David clear him to explore the village.

Glad that the meeting had turned out as he had hoped it would, Shinji took David's final order and saluted to him before turning to leave the office. It was just then however that Shinji had a strange notion come to mind as he was leaving the office... "If David is jsut borrowing the office for my meeting... why is he staying there?... and why was he moving the Kazekage's things around so flippantly... and why weould the secretary answer to him?" it could be that he simply had a position in the village which gave him clearance of such kind... but Shinji shrugged it off as a passing thought and exited the room.

Looking to his right as he exited the room, Shinji saw the secretary and delivered the message as requested... "Ma'am, David requests that you go in and talk to him. He's given me clearance to roam the village freely, so I'm going to go do exactly that." Bowing to her quickly, Shinji turned on his heels and then headed down the long spiral stairway, taking his time down to decide where he would go first. "I suppose my first step should be to find someplace to stay."... and with that thought in mind, Shinji exited the building and went out into the village to find a suitable residence for his stay.

As Shinji left, David sat down once more, pulling out a blank sheet of paper from the desk and scrawling down the story he had been given on Iwagakure's fall. It was incredibly strange, and despite the odd feeling he had that it was somehow familiar, he knew that it would have to be investigated before any real weight could be put to it. Perhaps he could grant Etsushi her time out of the village after all. A little trip over to Iwagakure. But then... The last time she had been out on such a trip she had vanished completely, so maybe not. Perhaps if Akura passed his test he could send him.

After a couple of minutes, the young secretary entered his office. Looking up, David paused from his work and opened his mouth to speak, only to be cut off. "The library wants their scrolls back. They say you've had them far longer than allowed, and if you don't wish to pay the normal fee and a late fee, you need to return them." the woman spoke, almost glaring at him in the process. Blinking a few times and shaking his head to clear out the surprise, David sighed and fished several jutsu scrolls out of his bag, placing them on the desk for the woman to take. There was very nearly tears in his eyes as he was forced to part with his scroll on sand jutsu once more.

"Fine." he mumbled once all the scrolls were set out for her. "But you get to return them." After the woman had gathered the scrolls and seemed to be leaving, as if she had forgotten he had called for her, David spoke up again. "And send me the second Iwa nin." As the woman closed the door behind her, David returned to his papers, writing down the rest of Shinji's story.

Following the man sent to escort him, Jishaku looked around carefully as he passed all the buildings. He made a quick mental note of certain landmarks and side streets he saw on the way to the tower. He noticed that all the major roads led straight to the tower, something he found rather convenient. At last however, they reached the tower and he was escorted up to the front door of the Kazekage's office, the shinobi in front of him knocking for them both. At last it seemed, Jishaku would meet the Kazekage and talk to him. He wondered just what kind of person the Kazekage was. He had not been in Suna for quite some time, and was interested in seeing just who the face behind the village was these days. Waiting patiently behind his escort, Jishaku ginned to himself in the dim light of the hallway. His plan would go forward.

David looked up at a sharp knock on his door. That meant that the ANBU had returned with... Jin? He hadn't quite brought himself to fully remember the man's name yet. Rather than immediately allow the man to enter, David took a short length of time to finish the paper he was writing, putting the finishing touches on Shinji's report. With that finished, he tucked it away in a drawer on his desk. he didn't recognize this man, and from the gate reports, neither did Shinji. So, he would see if their stories matched, and to do that, he couldn't risk wandering eyes reading Shinji's version of the story.

With the report stashed away, David began gathering up the other reports of Iwa's destruction, setting them back in their original places on the desk rather than in front of the guest chair as they had been for Shinji's convenience. he rather enjoyed his theatrics the first time around, and it would be a shame not to give himself opportunity for them the second. Making sure there was another spare profile sheet on the desk too, David settled back into his chair, looking across the room at the door. "Enter." he called, just loudly enough to be heard through the solid wood

After a few minutes of waiting, the voice of someone who seemed younger than himself came from the other side of the door. At that moment his escort opened the door for him and motioned for him to enter the office, closing it behind him as he came in. Looking at the individual who sat behind the desk, he was a bit surprised to see just how young he was. His face however did not betray his thoughts as he bowed politely after approaching the desk, only lifting his head after presenting himself. "Good afternoon lord Kazekage, I am Jin Ashijizou of Iwagakure. It is a pleasure to meet you." As he fixed his posture and stood up straight, he held a light smile that betrayed what truly lay below the surface. There was little else for him to say other than what he had already stated. This was his first meeting with the man.....or kid in his mind rather, and he was forced to allow him enough respect to wait for him to respond.

On his way in, the man had remarked the layout of the office and how many books and records lined the walls. Of course most kage offices had such features, but each office contained different items pertaining to that village. He suspected most of these artifacts could simply be read at the library, but he was sure that in this office there was some quite vital information. And as his eyes wandered briefly until landing once more on the Kazekage, he wondered just how strong the boy could be. He was of course sitting behind the desk and so Jishaku assumed despite his stature he was quite an adept fighter, but it was in him to want to very much test his strength. As it usually did, Jishaku's mind began to wander as if he'd already grown bored with the interaction before the other person in the room even began to speak, however his expression remained plastered on his face in a genuine manner.

He pondered about just what the man would ask him about, and assumed first and foremost it would be about the attack. What happened by his account, how he survived, all of that boring stuff. Jishaku by this time however, had concocted a story of his own to explain his situation. Of course he knew all the details of the attack, seeing as how he himself implemented it. He just wondered how much about it this boy knew and what he made of it if anything. Jishaku was always interested in what people had to say about his abilities as a shinobi, whether the comments were direct or indirect. In earnest, he preferred the indirect comments that came from individuals who couldn't pin point anything he'd done to him, but had witnessed it first-hand or heard through rumors. He wanted to hear his tales far and wide, and simply revel in the fear it brought about. One could say Jishaku thrived on the fear he brought about, even sustained himself on it. Indeed, this man's shinobi code of ethics had been twisted some years ago, and he had no reason to go back to the way it was.

David watched as the man entered, ANBU at his back and began to inspect the room. That was normal enough, and didn't really mean anything to David. No self respecting shinobi didn't make a quick scan of any room they entered. He did find it odd though, that where most simply scanned the room, this man seemed, in the mere instants David could observe, to be searching instead, and he wasn't sure he liked how long the man's eyes seemed to linger on the shelves and filing cabinets in the room. it really didn't matter of course. None of the books and scrolls were even Davids, simply being things left behind by the previous kage that hadn't been cleared out. Nothing of real value was in any of the cabinets around the room either. Any files of value were in the ANBU vaults. Half the filing cabinets in this room were, in fact, empty; only there for appearance sake.

The moment was over in instants though, and before David could really think on just why this man would seem so interested in the contents of his office, the man began to speak, confirming that David had remembered his name correctly, and added his family name. A shame. He'd apparently begun to lose his inability to remember the names of people he didn't care about. And then the man was silent, apparently done speaking, and staring right at him, staring in much the same way he'd been examining the room. And when those eyes were trained directly on him, he recognized what the uncomfortable expression behind them was. The man was a predator. Not like Etsushi, or even the Ichibi, who's predatorial instincts leaked from every pore. His was hidden behind a kind mask. Contrary to popular belief, having murder and killing intent pouring into his very brain every second of the day had not in fact dulled David's senses for such things. If anything, it had strengthened them. Oh, when the demon had first been sealed it surely had dulled his senses. Made him paranoid even, seeing attackers where there were none. But once you learned to block it out, you could see it so much more clearly.

Abandoning that train of thought, David raised one eyebrow, looking curiously at the man. Mere seconds after finishing introducing himself, his predator's eyes had glazed over ever so slightly, as if his mind had gone elsewhere, bored with the meeting seconds after it had begun. Or perhaps he was just tired, and dozing off? It was odd, either way. David simply added that to the list of odd things about this man. A list which began before he even stepped through the gate.

Finally, after several seconds passed in which David just stared at the man, slowly, at least in his own mind, trying to rationalize what he had seen thus far, he decided he should probably speak soon. Turning his gaze on the ANBU who had brought Jin here, he nodded to him in thanks for his service. "You may go." he said simply, and the soldier instantly vanished with naught but a wisp of smoke to show he had ever existed. Turning back to Jin, he plastered an od smile on his face. "I'm afraid you've given me an honor I don't deserve. Lady Kazekage is simply too busy at the moment to deal with these matters, and so it has been delegated to me. I trust this won't be a problem?" David's smile twisted into a smirk for a moment, before vanishing completely as he waved to the single seat before his desk. "Have a seat." And with that he went silent, shuffling papers on his desk as if actually looking for something, and purposefully ignoring Jin's presence for several moments, at least until he sat.

Hinote Tosatsu

((This is here as a place holder for my post, but Hinote you cannot simply detect murderous intent behind the eyes of a trained jounin who for all intent and purpose has been trained before David was alive. He is and for a while has been a calculated killer, meaning full well he knows the extent of expression and emotion he would need to portray at all times. Jishaku is by no means a fool or easy to read, and I certainly do not believe David in his younger years could simply pluck the intent behind Jishaku's expressions, smile, or even his eyes in such a mere instant. He is a kage, but certainly not a seasoned one with this man's experience. His expression could in no way, shape, or form betray his mood pertaining to this specific interaction, at least not so readily in the mere first few seconds David laid eyes on him. Over time perhaps, but certainly not that quickly. Otherwise, even Jishaku with such experience would take one look at David and just know for a fact that behind his eyes lay the killing intent he himself has. To put it simply Jishaku is not an open book, and definitely not a book David has the experience as a kage to merely gaze at in a moment's time and decipher. Also, it is almost 1:30pm and I have yet to sleep. So I will post after a nap of some sort, I just ask that you be aware that he is a jounin level RPC for a reason.))
