Zak didn't seem too fazed by Scarlett's apparent initial suspicion. He just kept smirking, and revealed the new pokemon, questioning her if it was similar to one she had. And, sure enough, he had remembered right. His smirk grew some as she even identified it, and confirmed his suspicions. He looked down at the pokemon, raising an eyebrow. "Aklor, huh...?" he repeated, pulling up his pokedex. He directed it to Ten and turned it on, checking her typing. Steel/Dark? That was a little surprising, but... not bad, not bad at all. He had Deys as a Steel pokemon, Stranny as a Dark pokemon, but... it still fell right into line with the typing he would choose, and need, with Imperium. He wondered if they somehow knew what these pokemon were before they gave him the eggs, but really, it didn't matter.
He put the pokedex away, for now, flashing a charming grin at Scarlett, and adjusting his arms to hold Ten and give a gesture. "Please, feel free to share," he replied. He didn't suspect she would be asking for something in return for the information, but if she did try and pull that card, he would probably either try and argue the matter, or see if they could 'work something out'.
He lifted his head, frowning a bit in confusion when she mentioned his 'offer', but then pulling on another smirk as she continued. He raised an eyebrow at her suggestion of testing her, and tilted his head. Seriously, if she was about to try and slip in some innuendo for an 'endurance' test... Surprisingly, though, that wasn't at all where she was headed. No, the direction she took was much better. He grinned, his eyes flashing as a clearly competitive, inspired look crossed his face. "Really Mishka, you vant to challenge me en basketball?" he asked. He lifted his head, a toothy grin on his face. "I'd be happy to accept, but I vouldn't get your hopes up too high. Do I get anysing eef I vin?" His expression turned a bit more cocky, but flirty too, at the question, and he felt Ten squirm in his arms. She couldn't really.... move, though. He glanced down, very briefly, and then moved to set her on the ground near Scarlett's pokemon, watching him just to make sure he didn't attack. It seemed Ten wanted a closer look at her evolved form.

While Zak was enjoying his new hatched pokemon, and trying to learn more, his other pokemon were continuing to battle. Meebus seemed to still be working to keep an eye on things, while Rota was handling a.... shocking amount of the opponents. Enough that Daeva was starting to look thoroughly annoyed. The dragon was entertaining herself (if it could be called that; 'venting' might be more accurate) by going after the grunts themselves, lunging and chasing them around, but Vorota was the one casually just... pummeling them. Stranny had found himself some popcorn and was happily munching on it while watching, and, well... even Rufflet was sort of standing on the sidelines, plucking a few kernals out here and there, while waiting for an opportunity to attack. He wanted to battle, of course he did, but.... there wasn't exactly a lot of opportunity for it.

And when there was, Rufflet was hit with the irritating reminder that he didn't exactly have a lot of variety in his moveset. Yeah, he could hit hard, but when all he had were flying attacks, and one measly attack.... Tch. It didn't do much. He took a moment to eye some of the tokens that a few of his teammates -- mostly Boo -- had been gathering. After a long stare, he swept off, snatching several up, and soaring to a prize booth. He dropped a pile of them on there, eyes narrowed as he scanned the area. The attendant, startled, jerked back, but then looked at the pile of coins, and then back to him. With a bit of hesitation, they began counting, and when he flapped his way into the booth, pecking at one of the TMs, yelped and ducked down. He fluttered back to the edge of the booth, waiting patiently as the attendant recovered, paused, and then seemed to connect the dots.
And a few minutes later, he flew back to the group, ready for battle, a new move under his belt.

Wow well okay. Maybe flying wasn't so bad-- but it certainly didn't hurt to have that new move. Rufflet puffed himself up a bit and shook himself, but glanced over as Vorota gave him a bellowed congratulations for so many victories in a row. She didn't even seem to be sarcastic about it.... He noticed Stranny hopping over, but ignored him, fluttering his wings to lift himself back into the air, and then, ultimately... land on Vorota's shell. It was a pretty good perch, honestly. He noticed Stranny staring up at him, but ignored him a bit, instead turning his gaze to survey the scene. There were still plenty of opponents to battle...

Scarlett watched as Zak mused smugly over his new pokemon, unsure if she should feel annoyed or amused. It probably didn't matter since, for the sake of keeping things relaxed between them, she probably shouldn't remark on her either of her feelings. She let him look at hims pokedex for a little longer before offering her advice if he wanted it. He took the offer, though it was clear he was expecting her advice to be free. "Well I could give you the free version, but it wouldn't really be worth your time. Now, if you wanted me to save you some time, research, and possibly your pokemon's life, maybe we could arrange a little something in exchange....?" Scarlett suggested, clarifying the perimeters of her offering of information.
And speaking of offers, Scarlett brought the conversation back to her next milestone, suggesting that they play basketball, and if she scored a basket on him, she would get her next reward. Zak was surprisingly very pleased with the suggestion. Scarlett had assumed at the very least he'd be amused, but she hadn't expected him to be this happy. Though that was probably mostly out of competitiveness than anything else. She could see it in his eyes. "I feel like I might regret it later, but yeah, I do." She grinned. "Yer gonna have to teach me some basics though, otherwise it's not gonna be much fun for either of us." She pointed out with a laugh. She was pretty confident in her speed and endurance to, at the very least, provide a challenge to Zak once she knew what she was doing and got some practice in. At least it was only one basket. It wasn't like she had to win a one on one game, she just had to score one basket on him, which would be a feat in of itself. Zak made a point of making sure she was aware of this fact, insisting that she shouldn't get her hopes up. "Daen't worry, I'm keeping an open mind, but I'm stubborn and persistent ya know, I'm bound to at least get one basket on ya if I keep it up long enough." She grinned. "If you get me to give up before then though, ya can call that a win." She suggested. It was a fair bet, given how good Zak claimed he was at basketball, and the fact that Scarlett hadn't really played before. Making her give up would be just about as much of a challenge as her scoring a basket on him.
Scarlett looked thoughtful as Zak asked if he would get anything if he won. It would be difficult to get her to give in, so she supposed that did deserve some kind of reward. "Hmm...." Scarlett smiled. She wasn't really sure what she could offer though. This wasn't something that deserved something huge, so she wasn't willing to divulge her deepest secrets or something of that sort, but she also knew better than to leave the choice up to Zak as well. "I'm sure we can work something out, but let's cross that bridge if we get to it." She suggested, reciprocating the same about of cocky flirtyness that he gave her, figuring that was probably the best way to end that discussion. When Ten was released from Zak's arms and set near Mako, Scarlett let her weight off of the Ankalor so that he could scoot himself closer to his pre-evolution and butt their heads together in a friendly fashion. "Klor!" He growled in greeting.

Information was his forte; he thought he'd made that rather clear in earlier discussions. Unless she wanted to make things 'interesting', threatening his pokemon's life, and withholding information, especially at the same time, was going to do very little other than tick him off and lose his interest. But at least he was watching her for a reaction, rather than getting pissed and throwing the whole conversation aside. He was giving a chance to continue the topic; but if she persisted, he would turn away, and start digging up information himself.
That was quite the difference to the reaction he was having to her offer and suggestion on doing a little wager based on her basketball skills. Scarlett shrugged slightly when Zak reacted poorly to her offer, insisting that he could easily get the information himself. "I wasn't suggestin' ya couldn't, but it would still take time an' effort on your part, time that I could save you by just comin' out and just tellin' ya straight." Scarlett suggested. "That aside, no one said a deal couldn't be a pleasant conversation. It's not like I'm askin' ya far you're deepest darkest secrets, just some kind of equal compensation. Information in exchange for information." That was how things worked in the underground. You gave some to get some, exchanging rumors, small talk, and tip offs for what other people had gathered. If Zak wasn't keen on doing anything like that, then he'd probably wasn't familiar with the custom, which was admittedly surprising, given who he was. If he didn't have to go digging through the underground network for jobs and information, then perhaps he wasn't on his own. Did he belong to a team? Scarlett could peg him for a Rocket affiliate. One that was higher up on the ladder. Maybe an admin or something, since he gave the impression of having access to a lot of information.
Regardless, Zak wasn't buying in, which was no skin off her nose. If this was the way the conversation was going, then she wasn't going to push it and have a repeat of their last little spat. "Suit yerself." She shrugged. It would have been nice to trade information, but he already had a leg up over her as far as his pokemon's power and the number of badges he possessed, so Scarlett wasn't exactly keen on helping Zak raise his pokemon without something in return. That would just be shooting herself in the foot. Now, her suggestion of basketball on the other hand was going a lot better. Sure Zak was getting competitive and cocky, indicating that perhaps challenging him in basketball was probably a poor choice on her part, but she had wanted him to teach her anyways, and it would be interesting to see him in his element. She could learn quite a lot, not only about basketball, but Zak as well, something Zak didn't seem to notice or care. It was funny, as much as Zak seemed to love information, and withholding it from other people, he was certainly underestimating how much something seemingly simple and fun like this could give away about him.
He clearly loved basketball, and he had to have some level of talent if he was so overwhelmingly confident in his ability to keep her from scoring just one basket on him. She could use this information in her research on him, and even if that didn't prove fruitful, it would still be useful to see how Zak acted personality wise in a place where he was totally comfortable and confident. Scarlett's specialty was reading people after all, and Zak was like an ambiguous stone wall, so the fact that he seemed to display competitive excitement over this was already like a banquet of information. Then there were a few other things she could potentially learn, given how well she did against him; how well he worked under pressure, how he reacted to something unexpected, if he would get bored if she proved to not be a big enough challenge, or if he would thoroughly enjoy crushing her at his own game anyways. These were very important pieces of information to get a better feel for the russian, because if Scarlett was able to see them fully exposed on the court, she would be able to recognize these traits when they showed up off the court. They would be more subtle, but they would be there, allowing Scarlett to possibly use them to her advantage, should the need arise.
Zak even agreed to at least walk her through the basics, which would give her even more information. One could see just how much someone knew about a field of expertise when they taught it to others. Having him teach her how to play would give her a feel for just how much time and effort he had spent learning the sport. "Iontach~ Shall we go to Castelia after this then?" She suggested, given that the city was well known for it's sports arenas, among other things. There was still the matter of their rewards, but Zak hadn't specified what she would get upon winning, and she wasn't really sure what she would give Zak if he managed to make her give up. So as a compromise, Scarlett suggested that they cross that bridge if they got to it. Zak seemed disappointed, but at least understanding enough given the circumstances to accept it for now, though he teasingly insisted that he hoped she was starting to think it over now. "I am, daen't worry, but ya better be doing the same." She smirked. "After all, ya can't count me out yet." She chuckled.
Mako made a noise that sounded a bit like amused laughter, though it came out like a growling groan. He was clearly enamored with the little aklor, even as she wiggled and kicked up dirt with her fins and tried to n** at his face. To help her along, Mako dug his head a bit into the earth, shoveling around some of the dirt so she could move about more easily, or even use his body as a ramp and wiggle up onto his back if she so desired. Scarlett eyed their interactions with mild amusement. It was interesting how well their pokemon got along, as opposed to herself and Zak.

While Zephyr had certainly done a good job of keeping many of the grunts busy, there were still a handful that wanted to give the rest of the pokemon trouble. Their numbers had thinned out quite a bit, though, and even though another one was stepping up to take on the group, it seemed like fewer and fewer actually wanted to try taking down any of the pokemon and were instead just there to keep them from running off. So it was a bit of a blow to their already shaky morale when the accelgor the bold grunt sent out couldn't even pick off one of the heavily damaged pokemon before getting knocked out by a blast of hot air. Even more so, the fact that there was now a healer present troubled the grunts as they saw Aroma wish away some of the damage Jin had taken earlier. It was becoming quite obvious that they had picked a fight with the wrong group of people and pokemon.

It took a while for Gavyn to finally come back around, even after a wet cloth was applied to his forehead. Marigold had gone off to her trainer's side after helping Sable. It seemed odd to the florges; the spectacled male seemed to not be wounded at all, but was still down for the count. She wasn't sure what there was for her to do, so she just stood by, her floral aroma spreading through the area. After a bit, Gavyn stirred, eyes blinking open. "...what...?" he murmured, reaching up to touch his fingers to the moist object on his forehead. It seemed someone was sitting by him. The brunette couldn't help but feel confused. What happened? It all seemed like a blur in his mind.
Asriel was left crying over whatever the heck was going on. The fluffy charmander hiccoughed when he was suddenly picked up by JIn. He then instinctively clung to Jin, sniffling. He hoped everything was going to be alright. Asriel calmed down a bit as he was held.
Merlin managed to avoid further fighting, playing games as he made his way back towards his trainer. He had a feeling that with all the fighting going on, Gavy might need him to stay close.

Zak still seemed pretty uninterested, at least, until Scarlett clarified she was interested in 'information for information'. He stared at her a long moment, then finally shifted his weight, letting his head fall slightly to one side as his eyelids lowered. "Just vat kind of eenformation vould you be looking for, Mishka?" He was... not entertaining the proposal, per se, but rather investigating it. Perhaps ifi she didn't want anything too extreme, he might consider it, seeing as it would save him some time and all.
Zak quirked an eyebrow at the little phrase she used, a curious smirk unfurling over his face. Well.... 'unfurling'. It was hard for it to take place when it was practically already there to begin with. "Da, sounds good. I happen to know vhere a basketball court ees zere, anyvay," he remarked. He was pretty sure that was the city he'd played in last time, with Deys and Sotnik. It was almost too bad he wouldn't be able to get them involved, either, so that they could practice. "Hm. Of course, walking might leave their pokemon behind. Especially since one was having trouble moving. "Lor!" Ten gave a little sound of gruff surprise as Mako began digging up dirt and shifted closer, and lower. She wiggled, then tried to propel herself up in a jump, though it... didn't work particularly well. She flapped and flailed a bit, before finally getting close enough to bite onto him -- gently -- and pull herself up a bit. With some effort, some flapping of her fins, and mostly pinches and nibbles as she climbed her way up, she was able to essentially get onto his back. "Aklor!" She seemed to puff up a bit, flailing her fins around, like-- well, like an intimidation technique. Or perhaps a towering show of triumph. It was a little hard to tell, given how... limited her movement was.

Evan was in a somewhat deep mental conversation with Louhi, not wanting to talk aloud in case that disturbed the resting male at his side. Though, as soon as Gavyn began to stir, the green-haired male turned his full attention onto the groggy male. "Oh, Hey, you're awake." Evan started. He felt a mental nudge from Louhi, forcing the male's gaze upward. 'With any fainted person you must ask them questions as to make sure they're fully aware.' The psychic stated. "But isn't that only when it comes to them hitting their head? I... well, my body caught him before he fell on the ground entirely." The male replied, earning a stare from the psychic in response. "Fine, okay...." Leaning over Gayvn some, the male waved a hand over him. "So... Do you... umm, do you know where you are? How about when you are? Uhh.." This was far to awkward. Evan decided to just keep it at those two questions. He really wasn't to skilled when it came to being a nurse or the like.
Meanwhile, Zoro and the rest of Evan's Pokemon watched as a wild-like Skarmory tore through the remaining grunts, thinning down their numbers significantly. Two remained ahead of Zoro and company, both seemingly made nervous from the Skarmory nearby. Even still they didn't appear ready to abandon their posts just yet, sending out a Pokemon each to deal with Evan's Pokemon.

Who... was this person? Gavyn looked up to the male that was nearby, who seemed to be talking to someone else. He wasn't sure, but it sounded like the green haired male was talking about whatever had happened to him before he found himself here, laying on some kind of ... bench? The brown haired male still felt a bit fuzzy on the details. He slowly moved to try and sit up as the other asked him if he knew where he was and 'when' he was. That... was an odd question. However, Gavyn found himself answering without much thought. "Ilex town, 1916." he replied simply. But when he looked around, this didn't seem to be right at all... "I-i-i mean... ummm... wait... this is that renaissance fair..." Gavyn tried to correct himself, flustered. He then realized what had happened. "Jin! Is Jin alright?!?" the brown haired male asked, a bit panicked. The last he could remember was that traveling companion getting slammed by a pokemon. And the green haired male was Evan, who he had just met. He felt embarrassed - it sounded like he must have fainted on the other.

Another grunt tried to interrupt the duo, sending out a whirlipede, but Jin looked over at Sable's pidgeotto and nodded over towards the oversized bug, a wordless indication that she should take that one. It didn't take much for the bug to be brought down by a blast of hot air and the burn it caused, but the whirlipede still managed to get a hit in with its tail. Even though Aroma's wishes helped ease away the damage done, the spritzee couldn't do anything about the poison left behind.

Evan chuckled, waving a hand some. To think he was in the year 1916. Chalking it up to maybe Gavyn was just into history, it sort of struck a cord with Evan, given the male's own love for history... well, not necessarily love, but from what he could remember he felt he was a fan of looking at the past. It made him want to regain Evangeline's memories all the more quickly now. But first, he had to be sure these friendly folk were going to be okay, given the battling still going on. "Woah, woah, calm down, friend." Evan waved with his hand in a 'calm down' fashion. "He's fine. Certainly is a resilient one." The male added before stand up, offering a hand down to Gavyn. "Looks like most of those creeps are gone, so I think it's safe to return to your friends now." With a genuine smile, the male glanced over some to Louhi, the psychic had turned his attention to the battling, finding the numbers of Team Plasma had indeed dwindled, with all these strong Pokemon on their side, it wasn't surprising. Fylgia, had leaped from Evan's lap as the male rose, only to return to where he'd been sitting, keeping a shy glance on the brunette her trainer had been attending to. He didn't seem all that scary, so she felt comfortable enough not to hide away, though that wasn't to say any sudden movements wouldn't send her flying to Evan's feet.

Darren leered slightly at Sable when she insisted that she wasn't able to jump up and run somewhere at the moment. That wasn't the point and she knew it. There were plenty of ways, people, and pokemon that she could use to get herself somewhere safe. Before he could say anything else on the matter though, Darren's subconscious picked up on an incoming attack by another ferrothorn and made Darren jump out of the way, and that was the last straw. Darren was already peeved from Sable getting injured, now he was done putting up with Plasma, and stuck Zephyr on the group to even the odds a bit. Now that they weren't all attacking as one big coordinated group, they would hopefully have some breathing room. Darren used the opportunity to scoop Sable up and try to bring her a safer distance away from the fight, ignoring the brunette's protests as she sent out her spritzee to assist in the battle.
Eventually Darren managed to carry Sable far enough away to where he was comfortable setting her down again, insisting that she stay and not press her luck. Sable tried to argue that she didn't get in trouble as often as Darren was suggesting, but the male brunette folded his arms slowly and gave Sable a sarcastic look. "The scars on your body suggest otherwise." Darren countered flatly, and after a moment of tense air between them, Sable finally seemed to concede. "Thank you...." Darren's hard expression softened, kneeling down beside Sable so he could take a look at her head. It wasn't like he didn't trust Marigold, but he had to make absolutely sure the damage had been completely healed. "Does it feel tender, like a bruise, or do you feel like it never happened? Aside from the fuzzy head that is." Darren asked curiously. This was the first time he'd witnessed someone being healed with wish after all, so he wasn't certain how effective it was, and he couldn't afford to leave Sable unchecked.
Seeing movement in the corner of his eye, Darren glanced up from Sable for a moment to notice that Gavyn was up and talking to Evan in the distance. "Looks like Gavyn is recovering too." He mentioned, since he figured Sable would have wanted to know. Meanwhile, as Zephyr continued to keep the Plasma grunts scattered and Jin was taking care of the younger pokemon of their group, Hercules took it upon himself to try and whittle down their numbers. After getting slammed with a mega punch from a nearby golurk, Hercules countered with a powerful blizzard, but it was clear he was hurt. Lapis picked up on this, and given that Darren and Sable were doing fine and out of danger, she dug through Darren's bag for a few potions and hurried out to the marshtomp to heal his injuries. Hercules gave an appreciative nod and grunt to the Florges, but indicated Darren and insisted that she return to him and Sable so that they were protected. Lapis nodded in understanding, turning to return to her trainer, but she would bring more potions out to Zephyr and Hercules if it was needed.
