Zak stared after the woman a moment, but among the other things dawning on him, was the echo of a familiar voice. He turned to look at Scarlett, noticing the questioning look on her face, and not changing the frowning, blunt expression on his own. She might have caught some of that, but it didn't seem she was suspicious or had caught onto what it was, given the curiosity she showed, and he wasn't about to clue her in. "Nyet," he replied dryly, "I vouldn't leave just because a few noobs vere causing trouble." That was actually something he had said before, funnily enough, but usually it applied to games.
"Anyvay," he continued, taking a few steps towards her, while shifting his gaze to look around them. "Have you conseedered using a psychic pokemon to try and pry zeir minds open? Or," he added, gesturing up to the skies, "sending somevone to get a better perspective? Eeven ef he's inside, zere might be some clue of vhere he ees. You could map ze cohnsuntration of zese idiots and see eef zere's a pattern or somesing." His mind was quickly clearing up and shifting gears, but he was still a little distracted. Scarlett's appearance didn't quite give him time to really consider what he'd just been informed of, and some part of him was still trying to drag his focus back there to make sure he wasn't missing anything. That wasn't going to happen, though.

Rufflet blinked, staring at Vorota. She was innocently pummeling several of their opponents unconscious. She didn't seem bothered by the over kill, but unlike some pokemon -- Daeva -- she wasn't relishing in it, either. She noticed him looking and gave a cheery greeting, before turning and hurling and aura sphere at another opponent, sliding along on her stomach to chase after it, and finish it off. He paused, then shook his head. She was weird. Stranny was weird. Were all water pokemon this weird? He sighed, lifting a wing. Deys wasn't weird. So at least there was that. But still... a trend seemed to be forming.

Darren nodded lightly as Evan explained that Saga was able to learn the water spout move with a special sort of mushroom. Now that he'd gotten over his initial shock, Darren did recall hearing about a special mushroom that allowed pokemon to learn moves they normally couldn't smiled at Sable as she started to apologize for Jin dragging them all into this, and prepared to dismiss it since he didn't really mind, but then Jin was forced to pull Sable out of the way of a garbordor's hand trying to take a swipe at her. This only succeeded in making Jin the next target though unfortunately. While Darren was concerned, at least Jin could handle the attacks better than Sable, given that he was a pokemon. The worrisome part was that these plasma grunts didn't know that he was a pokemon, meaning they were willing to order their pokemon to attack a human. The sight of Jin being body slammed by the living trash bag had caused Gavyn to faint. "Ah Gavyn!" Darren frowned, moving to try and help Evan with Gavyn, though it appeared that the green haired male had caught their friend and held him steady. "Got him?" Darren asked tentatively, arms at the ready just in case Evan needed help. It seemed that he was fine though, and after making sure that Saga was good to handle things on her own, he began to take Gavyn away to a quieter location.
Jin threw the Garbordor off with an extrasensory, but rather than a little zorua taking his illusion's place, there was a large and irritated Zoroark, which seemed to take all of those involved by surprise. Sable and Darren hadn't realized Jin had evolved, and Gavyn, Evan, and the plasma grunts didn't know Jin was a pokemon period. Surprising as Jin's change was, they couldn't afford to get distracted by it. Darren's focus went back to Gavyn and Evan as he saw a grunt giving chase to the two. "Oh no you don't! Hercules, stop them in their tracks!" Darren insisted, indicating the plasma grunt and his golurk, and Hercules blasted them both with a blizzard. "Nice shot pal!" Darren smiled encouragingly to the mud fish, but a sickening smack and gasping yell from Sable caused Darren's eyes to go wide, turning to notice all too late that Sable had been nailed in the head with a ferrothorn's spiky appendage. "Sable!" In an instant, Darren was by her side, though there wasn't much he could do about the damage. All he could feel was the fury building up in his chest as he shot a cold look at the grunt and ferrothorn responsible. Sable's pidgeotto was able to quickly take care of the ferrothorn at least, but that still left the issue of Sable's bloodied head.
Lapis was enjoying mingling with the Skiddo alongside Marigold, but she too had started to notice a slight disturbance, and when Sable cried out in pain, Darren calling out her name in distress, she didn't need to be asked twice by Marigold to go investigate. "No, it's fine, I think we should go as well...." She agreed quietly but earnestly, straightening up and following the other Florges out of the pens and towards their trainers, though she smiled a bit to herself at how Mari insisted she would make up this lost time later. As Darren panicked over Sable's condition, he noticed the two fairies approaching swiftly to help, and moved aside so that Marigold could work. Sable's hair stayed matted and bloody, but eventually she began to move to her knees, thanking the florges. When she insisted to Jin that she would be alright if she just had some time to clear her head, Darren looked at Sable incredulously. "No! You don't just need to let your head clear, you just got whacked in the head by a ferrothorn!" Darren insisted. "You need to lay down and rest, preferably somewhere that isn't infested with these..." Darren paused and jumped out of the way as another ferrothorn's tendril came crashing down at the spot where he had been standing not seconds before. "Tch. Damn, we missed." A grunt lamented, and Darren shot another glare at the plasma grunts that seemed to continue crowding them with an endless stream of members.
Darren didn't even finish his thought from earlier, he stomped towards the crowd, earning a bit of jeering. "Uh oh, looks like we made him mad.""What'cha gonna do? Hit us with a foam sword?" Darren ignored the teasing and kept his gaze distant but steady. "I hate to do this, but if you're going to play dirty, then you leave me no choice." He spat, snatching up Zephyr's pokeball and releasing the steel bird. Hissing, Zephyr glanced to Darren and awaited orders. "Make sure they don't bother us anymore." He ordered, clearly done playing nice with these criminals. The order was short, sweet, and essentially an open invitation for Zephyr to go nuts, causing the dark skarmory to shriek with a mixture of glee and ferocity before taking off and dive bombing the crowd of grunts.
The aggressive attacks forced most of the plasma members to move out of the way, lest they get sliced, and worked at the very least as a distraction to prevent Darren's group from getting quickly outnumbered like they were. Darren turned back around, making his way over to Sable again after she finished up a battle with Lily, though the barking attack that the gekkit had made clearly did a number on both the scrafty and Sable both. It was clear Sable didn't plan on giving the fight up, so Darren was left with few options to keep her safe. "Alright, if you won't take care of yourself, then I'm going to do it for you." He insisted quite seriously, before scooping Sable up in his arms and moving to get as far away from the battle as possible while still being able to keep an eye on their pokemon. Lapis followed along while Hercules worked with Zephyr and Sable's pokemon to keep the grunts and their pokemon at bay. When it seemed they were in the clear, Darren set Sable down again on the grass and let Lapis keep a psychic, watchful eye out for any grunts.
It was clear that Sable wasn't exactly happy with his course of action, but Darren wasn't going to be swayed on the matter. "Please, just stay here with me." Darren insisted. "You've had way too many close encounters with pokemon before, stop pushing your luck before it runs out." He stated firmly. It was bad enough that he bore witness to one of those close encounters back in the haunted house. That experience with Sable nearly getting killed by a cofagrigous was still burned into the back of his mind, especially since it was all his fault. Hell would freeze over before he stood by and let something like that happen again here.

Scarlett chuckled lightly when Zak insisted that he wouldn't leave just because a few noobs were causing trouble. What was he, a video game nerd? Well actually, Scarlett could see it, given how attached he seemed to his electronics. "Oh I know, but I thought you might be getting bored, and we wouldn't want that." She suggested with a small coquettish smile before glancing up at the sky and sighing. It was a pity that Plasma had to be a pest and essentially ruin their date, but that was exactly why she was trying to deal with them and fend them off. It was quite clear she and Zak weren't the only ones too, given that a group of trainers nearby appeared to be fending off a crowd of plasma grunts as well. Zak continued, suggesting other ways that they could get to Zinzolin, and Scarlett thought over his suggestions. "I have thought about searchin' their minds, but they were telling the truth about not knowing where Zinzolin was. If his guard squad is only aware of Zinzolin's location then it'd just be a waste of time searching these grunt's minds." She insisted, but his suggestion of getting an aerial scout on the lookout wasn't a bad idea. "Hm, good point." She agreed, bringing out Rave's pokeball.
The little noibat was a bit.... "Move it!" A grunt called out, running in their direction with her liepard. "Outta the way!" She shoved one fair attendee aside as a crazed looking Skarmory soared up and finally seemed to turn it''s attention elsewhere. "Damn crazy bird! What the hell is wrong with that thing?!" The grunt muttered, dusting herself off and looking to Scarlett, sizing her up along with Pearl. "Whatever, I'll just take your pokemon instead." She grunted, and Scarlett quirked an eyebrow. "Excuse me?" She practically scoffed. "That's quite a bit a' big talk considerin' ya just got chased off by some bird." Scarlett suggested. "Just some bird huh? Why don't you go fight that thing and see how crazy it is!" Scarlett smirked. "Nah, the enemy of my enemy is my friend, and all that jazz. I'd much rather finish that bird's work." Scarlett suggested, sending out Luna. The gekkit seemed quite excited to be out and about, already making little gekkering noises as she looked to take in her surroundings and run around in small circles. "Focus Luna, we're in a battle, neu be a dear and use disarming voice." The little gekkit stopped wiggling around and did as she was asked, focusing on her opponent and giving an etherial howl that did quite a bit of damage to the liepard.
Though the liepard was severely weakened, it still had some fight left in her, and lunged forward angrily with a fury swipes attack. Luna yelped in fear and tucked herself into her bamboo collar, but it only did so much as far as protection from the relentless onslaught of claws that came after her. "Don't let it corner you Luna! Use disarming voice again!" Scarlett commanded, and before the liepard could strike her shell again, Luna let out another howl from within her armor, knocking the liepard back. Now that the dark type was down for good, Luna poked her nose out from her collar, sniffing the air hesitantly to make sure the danger was gone before she popped out again and resumed running around Scarlett. "Tch! Damn you punk trainers...." The plasma grunt growled, returning her fainted liepard and taking off so that they could go recover from their beatdown. Scarlett smiled at Luna and knelt down, allowing the gekkit to hop into her lap and lick at her chin. "Oh goodness, you need to settle down little girl. Com'ere." Scarlett delicately grabbed one of the gekkit's paws between her fingers to try and spray the scratches on her arm with a potion, but Luna gekkered and playfully bit at Scarlett's fingers with her small sharp teeth. "Luna, if ya don't stop wigglin' about and biting me like that, you're gonna regret it." Scarlett warned, but the Gekkit continued to growl and nibble at Scarlett's fingers, so the redhead shrugged and sprayed Luna down, causing the Gekkit to jerk her head away from the spray and smack her mouth open and closed, tongue hanging out in disgust at the bitter spray that she'd just gotten a mouthful of. "I tried to warn ya~" Scarlett chuckled, amused by the fox's reaction.

Darren was clearly not convinced by his friend's claims of needing a few mere moments and, honely, Sable didn't expect the the teen to believe her."I'm not exactly able to jump up and run somewhere at the moment,"she countered, although it was more to point out her situation than start an argument. Darren still insisted that she needed to get somewhere safer, but was cut off by another feisty ferrothorn."No!"Jin had yanked her away from the impact to make sure she wasn't hurt any worse than she already had been, but at that moment Sable was more worried about Darren. It looked like he might have gotten out of the way alright, but given how clumsy he tended to be, Sable wasn't sure if he had really gotten away unscathed. Although, between the fact that Darren was still upright and that the grunt whose ferrothorn had tried to smack the teen seemed disappointed, it looked like the tan-haired teen really had gotten through alright, so Sable was able to let out a light sigh of relief before getting back to her own grunt problem.
Between the two of them, that was another two grunts beaten, and on top of that Zephyr looked to be having some fun, in his sadistic way, keeping more grunts busy."Hopefully that buys us a moment or two..."Sable muttered as she started fishing around in her bag. Something Darren said caught her attention, though, and made her pause for a moment."What's that supposed to- H-hey!"One moment she was on the ground, and the next moment she felt herself scooped up."H-hang on! Now that he was looking for the little fellow, though, and since the little charmander hadn't gone far, it was easy enough to spot Asriel."There you are!"Jin hurried over close to where Asriel was, seemingly unaware of the tiny yips following along at his heels. He was a bit more preoccupied with the crying fire type, not that the zoroark could really blame him with what all was going on."Hey, c'mon. It's alright. Everything's gonna be fine,"Jin tried to assure the fluffy lizard while gently picking him up and holding him close. This sort of thing was supposed to help calm down crying children, right?
Unfortunately, it seemed some of the grunts were decidedly dedicated to making everything as far from alright as possible."This is your last chance! Renounce those humans you would call your trainers, or-"The grunt's speech was cut off as the muscle behind his threat, a golurk, was sent flying by a ball of green energy shot out by the gekkit at Jin's feet."...You were saying?"Despite the prompt, the grunt was at a loss for words as he recalled his fallen titan."That's what I thought."Jin then looked down at Lily and Asriel."Well, come on you two. Let's get back to the other pokemon. It'll be safer than wandering around on our own,"Jin suggested as he made his way back over to where the others were taking care of things. He would have rather gone over to help keep his trainer safe, but he didn't feel comfortable leaving that pidgeotto without someone used to her. Or Aroma, since the spritzee managed to make her way over and start patching pokemon up, starting with little Lily.
Sable made a few grumbling sounds as she was carried away, although whether they were wordless complaints or simply groans of pain was debatable. Either way, Sable did not look pleased about having to be carried off the battlefield like the sort of damsel in distress one would find in fairy tales or old movies. The teen still hadn't really found any words to say when Darren finally sat her down and let out a few more quiet grumbles. So, Darren spoke his own mind instead, and while a few arguments sprang to mind... Sable might not have noticed the breath she was holding at the time, but she was well aware of the feeling in the pit of her stomach when she thought Darren might have been hit as well."...I don't get in trouble that often..."she muttered, but it was a feeble argument at best, and one that wasn't even directed at Darren. As a few thoughts ran about, Sable's fist tightened for a moment before relaxing again."...Alright..."The teen let out a defeated sigh before agreeing to Darren's request, but at least she was still willing to go along with it.

Scarlett gave Zak a satisfied smirk. She had been hoping he would respond in such a manner, and Zak certainly didn't disappoint. "It's a good quality to have." Scarlett agreed, tempted to make another flirtatious remark, but before she could, Zak got down to business, suggesting other tactics they could use to find Zinzolin, one of which she felt was a good idea and proceeded to take action accordingly, sending Rave out on a scouting mission. Her coloration earned a comment from Zak, calling her interesting, and Scarlett chuckled. "Yeah... Her fur isn't the only thing that's colorful either." She shook her head. That bat was as quirky and cheerful as they came.
After dealing with a stray grunt, Scarlett started tending to Luna, and while their battle had unsurprisingly lost Zak's interest, the new pokemon quickly caught it again. "She's a Gekkit." Scarlett answered, continuing to try and hold the little fox still so she could finish spraying her down with the potion. The liepard had done quite a number on her with those fury swipes, but Scarlett managed to get the last of her cuts with the potion and finally released the wiggling fox, who continued to try and n** at Scarlett's heels while she made to throw the empty potion away in the nearby trashcan. When Luna noticed that Scarlett was no longer paying attention to her though, she turned her attention to Zak, since he'd been studying her. She came running up towards his feet, yipping playfully until her foot got caught in her bamboo collar and she fell face first into the ground instead.
It didn't take long for her to recover though, getting right back up on her feet and closing the rest of the short distance between herself and Zak, tail wagging happily. Scarlet had seen the tail end of their little interaction and bit back a bit of snickering at the gekkit's clumsiness. She certainly wasn't ready for any sort of stealth mission, but she sure was cute and entertaining. With all of Scarlett's battle ready pokemon, maybe she would just end up making for a good house pet.

Zak's smirk from their earlier little conversation turned into a questioning one when Scarlett made an ambiguous comment on her noivern. He decided not to ask, though, and soon found his attention wandering off. It returned as Scarlett finished her battle, and lingered on the pokemon she had used for it. It was... cute, definitely not something Zak had seen before. But so far, the pokemon itself wasn't... especially impressive. He quirked an eyebrow as it came towards him, only to trip, and then lifted his gaze back to Scarlett. "Really... Vhat typing ees she? Looks... like fairy or psychic? Maybe grass or..." Scarlett was a little amused that she continued to pull out pokemon that Zak didn't know about, or seemed interested in. Though "interest" was a little bit of a stretch. Whenever he asked about her pokemon, he always appeared so... Flat. Scarlett still wasn't quite able to decide if he was really only interested on a knowledge basis or if he was just really trying not to come off as impressed, either because he really was or he really didn't want to give her that impression. "Fairy type, but I don't know much else about her." Scarlett explained. "Back in Nimbassa after our little outing, I found 'er trying to stow away in my room. Figured maybe if she was able to sneak in there past me, then maybe she might be good far somethin' later." She shrugged, neglecting to mention that the little fox had basically snuggled her way into staying with Scarlett.
Glancing down at Luna as she ran around Zak's feet, Scarlett stepped closer to wrangle the little fox so she would quit bothering the russian, and be persuaded into sitting still. "I haven't had the chance to research her much though, since I had other priorities..." Scarlett smirked. "I did want to get my reward after all, but who knows, maybe she'll help me get a few mare." She suggested with a shrug. "Did you have any other ideas on how to keep your 'investment good and strong'?" She remarked with a sly smile. "Because I can certainly think of a few things..." She murmured, giving Zak an appreciative once over.
Zak then offered for his rufflet to assist Rave in scouting, and Scarlett shrugged. "Sure, ifn ya want. Would certainly help speed up the process." She agreed, but then saw movement from under her, noticing that Luna was already gone. "Y'ave gotta be--" Scarlett growled looking around for the gekkit before she got herself into trouble. The little fox just couldn't sit still for two seconds, could she? "Apparently she wants to join the search too." Scarlett sighed, finally landing her sights on Luna, who had already taken the initiative to go take out another Plasma liepard, even managing to sustain less damage this time. "...Huh." Scarlett remarked, watching as the fox came scampering back to her, yipping proudly. "Well, at least she takes initiative, and she's winning." She chuckled, crouching down to scratch the fox behind the ears and spray her down with another potion.

Zak quirked an eyebrow and looked back at the pokemon. Fairy, huh.... Hm. So he'd got it right. And yet it was still somehow a little surprising. He eyed the pokemon as he listened to Scarlett. Gekkit, fairy... He definitely hadn't heard of it either, but he might try and look into it next chance that he got. Because honestly, yes, he was trying to track what pokemon she had. While he, of course, wanted to know his 'inventory', so to speak, he also wanted to know what he might have to deal with should things get a little more... tense between him and Scarlett. For now, things were rather good, but as earlier had shown,t hat could very easily turn on a dime.
"I see..." he murmured in a low voice, somewhat giving away the fact that he was thinking over something while he listened. He lifted his gaze back up, and flashed a smirk at Scarlett's flirty suggestion. "I'm sure I can sink of a few sings," he drawled back, giving a lazy grin, "I'm currently training my second team. Perhaps eef you could defeat some of zem... Or, eef you prefer, ve could alvays make anuzzer badge check point...." Perhaps he was taking her suggestion a little too literal, though. Zak raised his gaze to the skies as Scarlett mentioned being open to Rufflet helping. He didn't quite get the chance to actually send him off, though; her gekkit distracted the two of them, and by the time his attention was returning, and he was about to comment, there was a tap on his shoulder. He turned just enough to look back, frowning. "Vat ees et Dey--" He stopped short, and his eyes widened as he realized what it was. Honestly, there was only one reason that the empoleon would step in. And, indeed, he held out the backpack with one fin, and Zak quickly took it. "I'll be right back, Mishka," he informed her shortly, before striding off. Deys gave her a side gaze-- perhaps to make sure she didn't follow.
Zak was very... methodical about some things. Hatching pokemon included. He looked around, searching for a sequestered place, and finding a spot behind a few booths. He settled down, quickly placing the bag in his lap, and reaching in to pull out a shaking, cracking egg. Geez, he was cutting it close. He moved his bag and placed the egg on his lap, a smirk crossing his features as the shell fractured and began to break. As the chips fell away, the pokemon inside was gradually revealed-- a wriggling, grey, shark-like pokemon. At first, Zak thought it was a sharpedo, but quickly dismissed it-- for the obvious reasons, as well as the results of a closer look. It definitely wasn't a pokemon he was familiar with, but now that he thought about it, it did look slightly familiar. Didn't Scarlett have a pokemon like this....?
He paused a moment, then stood up, picking up the pokemon and letting the shelled remains fall away. "Hello zere, rebenok," he greeted. The pokemon wiggled a bit more, then fell still, looking back at him. He smirked a bit. "Pleasure to meet you. Eef you don't mind... I'm going to put you en zis pokeball for now," he started, speaking slowly and watching her reaction. Her gaze shifted to the pokeball as he held it up, and he flashed a smirk. "But I promise, I vill try and find somesing better soon. Eef you vant." She looked back at him, then gave another little wiggle, which he took to be a yes. He promptly gave a gentle tap on her head with the pokeball, which absorbed her. The ball shook in his hand, before giving a final ding. Wasn't she delightfully cooperative...

Zak smirked, tossing the pokeball up and catching it again. What an interesting pokemon. She was actually rather cute. He had a feeling Daeva would be jealous. Spinning the pokeball on one finger, he turned, stepping over the broken egg shells to head back to where he had left Scarlett. He was already mulling over ideas, curious about the pokemon, and even bothered to pull out his pokedex, for when he released her again. He would have to give her a nickname, once he got to know her better. Maybe Ten? It seemed fitting, both in how it sounded, and what it meant. Most people would probably take it as the number, though... But whatever.
Musing over that, he found Scarlett again, flashing another smirk, this time a bit more sly. "Say, Mishka," he started, letting the pokeball fall back into his hand, "Don't I recall you haveng a pokemon seemilar to zis?" He gave the pokeball a toss up, bringing his arms up to hold the pokemon that appeared in them. The Aklor wiggled a bit, but quickly caught sight of Scarlett, and looked straight at her. Zak caught the pokeball, raising an eyebrow at the redhead. Hopefully he was remembering correctly... he could have sworn the one he'd seen was similar.

Scarlett looked thoughtful as Zak suggested a few other tasks he had in mind. Going for another set of badges aligned in her schedule so she couldn't complain, fighting Zak's secondary team was a little insulting, especially when the condition was that she only had to beat some of them, but sadly Scarlett was sure they were probably more on par with her primary team, maybe even stronger given how far along Zak had progressed in terms of badges. He even seemed to be taking her question seriously, giving these options when she had been trying to flirt, so it was a little disappointing, but still good to know in terms of what her next potential task could be.
At least he finally relented, suggesting lightly that he was at least open to hearing her ideas. Scarlett smiled at that, and opened her mouth to reply, but then Zak's empoleon stepped in, tapping Zaks shoulder rather insistantly and handing Zak his bag. Zak had seemed annoyed at first, but whatever the empoleon had been trying to convey had apparently gotten across, and Zak grabbed his bag, excusing himself to Scarlett before running off. Scarlett quirked a brow, intrigued by his urgent behavior. Was it perhaps work? Well she could keep herself busy while she awaited his return. She had Luna scamper off to fight a nearby grunt's Scrafty, and afterwards come back for healing. If the grunts didn't have any useful information on them, she may as well use them as training fodder.
When Zak returned, he was tossing a pokeball leisurely in one hand like some kind of hotshot, the sly smirk he gave Scarlett didn't help his case either, and Scarlett was more suspicious than impressed. That might have been his intention though, as he openly revealed the Pokemon inside the pokeball when he approached her again, asking if he correctly recalled her having a similar Pokemon. Seeing the little Aklor staring at her made Scarlett blink in mild surprise. It had been a while since she's seen Mako's pre-evolution. "Huh... Yeah, that's an Aklor alright. The pre-evolution to mine." Scarlett nodded, releasing Mako from his heavy ball for reference and leaning slightly on the large anchored shark with a light smirk. "Want my advice, or would ya like to discover everythin' on yer own?" She asked half jokingly. She wouldn't actually mind informing Zak–for a small price of course–but she wouldn't be surprised if he declined either, out of pride or just wanting the information for free and having the ability to obtain it rather easily.
Mako glanced at the Aklor before him and wiggled a bit under Scarlett's arm, causing the chains of hit tail like structure to clink together audibly. He was certainly happy to see another one of his kind after being away from sea for so long. "And speakin' of offers... I was thinking about yours." She suggested, referring back to her next task. "As much as our interests align far trainin' my crew, why not test me? We could do something like.... If I can score a basket on you, I get a reward. Daen't that sound mare fun than a couple o' badges?" She pointed out. Plus they were already making noises about something of that sort back in the racetrack. "I mean, having strong Pokemon is all well and good, but you can't put a weak trainer behind them or it's all far naught, and you want to keep me strong too, don't you?" She smiled slyly. Sure she was buttering him up a little, but it was kind of fun when she inflated his ego and he got that smug look in his eyes....
