His parents contracted a sickness and were unable to overcome it when he was very young, and since then Nagoro has been acting as his father. Sort of. Meimu is far too active for Nagoro to keep up with, which means that Meimu honestly spends a lot of time on his own. He's a highly intelligent child, able to understand concepts far beyond his age and it doesn't take him very long to pick up on new things at all.
Meimu is very much a social chameleon. While he's incredibly intelligent, he learns his behavior from those around him. Needless to say, this has shaped his behaviors into an amalgamation of oddly sweet acts of kindness and... terrifying habits. Meimu has always been quiet- to the point where he often comes off as completely mute. If he does something "nice," he doesn't usually take credit for it. Its hard to not take responsibility for being horrible, though. People tend to notice that. In his home village, he has a reputation for being awful, especially to Tomoe.

Meimu has incredible observation skills, and he uses them to fit into his surroundings as much as he can. Village life was different from place to place- but Meimu found it easy to be at home no matter where he was. He faces a small challenge at the Academy, but for the most part Meimu has transitioned to life outside of the barrier with seemingly no problems.┅┅WORD
