Despite the screaming, the scrambled sound of people trying to find some source of light, any source of light, Riley found the strange sensation of pure darkness comforting. Unlike them, she wasn't afraid of the dark. But she should have been. Somewhere, deep down inside, she knew she should have been.
She wrapped up shreds of destroyed canopy onto a stick, and waited for someone to run by with a lit torch in order to get hers burning using their light. When it began to flicker up in flame, and she held it up to see better.. only then did she feel fear enter her heart.
She would have been better off in the dark.

Riley was face-to-face with a bale of hay first. But just above and slightly to the left of that bale of hay was the face of the figure carrying it around (for reasons unknown).
"You again!" he smiled, once again just a little bit disconcertingly. But maybe, by the light of their two torches, he actually looked genuinely surprised to see her again after whatever the hell he had been doing before she'd been granted a lifetime supply of turnips.

RILEY HAS A TORCH RILEY IS SECURING HERSELF AN EARLY GRAVE
In her haste to find a way to be helpful, she instead found that running into strangers in the dark was her actual nightmare. Aymet's voice, and the face looming in front of her lit only by the sharpness of fire, made her stumble so hard she almost dropped her torch. But she didn't! And that was a relief.
Because she was going to need it, to burn herself alive after realizing that she'd just grabbed onto his arm for support.

{ SHU HAS A GLOWING STICK }
She was petite among others, besides the flame, she was dressed in black, black armor and black hair. No wonder there was another person didn't see her around. "You didn't have a torch? Here have some lights and don't worry, if I can survive the attack of the Darkness, I won't be knocked out that easily." Shu smiled to Piper, with her eyes bright under the flame.
On the other hand, Shu looked at Johan who talked to her and the masked man. She then looked at her tiny hands, one already holding a torch and looked at the masked man - a bit strange but she won't judge. He then went to grab a -
horse. Her eyes widened at the scene as the man seemed to be super confused and then she burst into light giggles.
"Why you need to hide your face? You don't look bad at all." Shu blinked innocently at the Katana user called Johan and then yelled suddenly.
"Name 's Shu, nice to meet you two." She peeked at their occupied hands and decided hand shake wasn't suitable at the moment.

Kostya hauled a wooden container of food to the doors, and flashed one of the knights an intrigued kind of look, with an eyebrow raised high.

With dark brown hair and two days of stubble, Kostya is a rugged, attractive knight. Although he's not the tallest among the knights-- measuring in at only 5'7"-- his body is honed from the training he did in and around his native villages, sleek and whipcord strong. He prefers to work at range, utilizing a large crossbow as his weapon of choice.
In personality, Kostya leans towards the stoic, although a cruel streak in him leads to humor at other people's expenses. He traditionally carries around a small flagon of alcohol, acquired through whatever means necessary. He lacks true compassion, and cannot process empathy in any significant amount, leading him to take advantage of lesser folk-- by manipulation or force-- to get what he wants. AYMET HAS A TORCH AYMET IS SECURING THE DOOR BUT SLAPPED KOSTYA INSTEAD
"Well hello to you too." He casually tossed the hay bale aside, which may or may not have collided with someone attempting to do Actually Important Things. This was a memory he would happily plaster over the one about the infinitely dark sky. Nothing like having women swooning and hanging off his arms - it made him feel less like an apprentice and a lot more like an actual knight. "Do I at least get a name this time?"
He saw the raised hand out of the corner of his eye, then turned his full attention back to Riley. The problem with not looking where one was high-fiving was that Aymet's gauntleted hand slapped Kostya in the face instead.
"So what are you doing later?" he asked without missing a beat, attempting to save face after inadvertently knocking Kostya into a wall. "I mean, after we send those things back to the hell they came from."
"Together," he added, in case she wasn't picking up on his insinuations.

May the skies strike her down and turn her to rubble or stone now, so that she didn't have to deal with the mistake that she'd just stumbled into..
She waited...
...No such luck.
"Riley." She answered him because being morbidly embarrassed was no reason to be rude. "I must have tripped on something in the darkness, I'm so sorry." Her hands were off of him the moment she found her bearings, and she gripped her torch with a terrified, tight fist. The answer to his question was simple. "I suppose, fighting? Or recovering from the fight? Why?" She looked up, meeting his eyes for one split second before looking back down at his chest. "What was I supposed to be doing?"
The word together held only one connotation, at first. They were knights, they would defend together, as was their sworn oath. But she was no fool - she heard the insinuation in his voice, even if it took her a little longer than it should have to sink in. Her eyes thinned, before she took a step back.
"Mind yourself, my fellow knight." She whispered. "I won't have you sullying me with your words."
"What, pray tell, will you allow me to sully you with, then?"

RILEY HAS A TORCH RILEY'S WRITER HAS NOTHING CUTE TO WRITE HERE THIS TIME
Get to know her? Did he believe she could simply forget the fact that every interaction they'd had since they met was filled with innuendo and filth? She stared at him incredulously, until he held out his hand. Then, she stared at his hand incredulously, as if it was a weapon. There was no chance she was shaking it.
"Aymet," She murmured, her voice quiet and shaky - clearly thrown by the sight of that hand too close to touching her. "I find it hard to believe that you've just had a change of heart. You sounded quite certain of yourself a moment ago." She breathed out a sigh, and folded her hands in front of her. "Give me a reason to have faith."

[ OLLIE EXIT ]
He'd never admit it, but Ollie had fallen asleep. Despite the noise and the frantic movement around him, the hay bale had made such a comfortable bed, and the day had been so long, and he'd expended so much energy, that it had been all too easy to succumb to the quiet song of rest. Now he woke, all at once, to the sound of a siege starting in earnest on the castle, and for a long moment he didn't know where he was.
Or who he was.
And that was strange.
But as some small memories trickled back, he managed to shove himself upright and, drawing in a sharp breath, throw himself toward the source of the trouble. After all, that was what followers of Galahad did, wasn't it?

For all his attitude, for all his careless mocking of Cain, when the actual trouble loomed on the horizon, Julian was ill-equipped for response. While others immediately ran off to take on the offensive, or to mount a defense, he stood still where he was and stared up at their barricade, hoping that it would do its job to fend off the oncoming dangers.
People moved around him, and he still had a chair in his hands. Someone shouted in the distance, and he only faintly heard it. After a moment, he dropped his burden and it hit the ground with a soft thud.
"Which way, did they say?" His voice was a hoarse little whisper, and Julian was a bit surprised to find he was afraid. Maybe he didn't remember his life before this, but he was pretty sure it didn't involve oncoming armies or getting in a lot of fights. No one seemed to hear him, just kept running off toward their own positions.
