Ajicka raised an eyebrow. Well, hm... She didn't see that coming. Both eyebrows rose at the sleep move, and then a grin at the psychic attack. Her hands moved to her hips, a breathy laugh escaping her. "That's one hell of a strategy," she remarked with impressed amusement, "If Jas hadn't landed that burn, I might actually be a little concerned here." She smirked, tilting her head to the side with a confident expression. "But I did land the burn, so..." She lowered her gaze to the battle field, smirking a little at Jas snoozing comfortably on the ground. He had laid down on his stomach, snoring away, arms along his sides. He grumbled uncomfortably in his sleep at the attacks. He growled a bit, but then yawned, remaining fast asleep, while his opponent's health whittled away more and more. Ajicka folded her arms, waiting it out-- she knew how this was going to go. As Exeggutor fell, she stepped forward, the excitement, the thrill of what had just happened bubbling up inside her. Somehow, she was keeping it contained. It felt like a balloon swelling in her chest-- she couldn't remember being so happy --but she kept a calm face as she walked over to Jas. "Keep sleeping, you lug," she murmured, reaching down to pat his muzzle, "You've earned it."
She straightened up, striding out to meet Blue, her eyes half open but a very relaxed, peaceful, and victorious smile on her face. "It was a good match," she remarked, taking the case, looking down at it. She rubbed her thumb over the case, then lifted her gaze to look at him, nodding. A smirk crossed her face at his offer, and she tilted her head confidently to the side. "Careful," she warned, "I may just take you up on that." She turned as he left, smiling softly at Jas, then returning the fire pokemon. She looked down at the case in her hand, opening it to gaze at the badge. Then, snapping it shut, she tucked it away in her bag, and left the gym.

Ajicka was in a daze as she wandered from the gym to the pokecenter. She handed over all her pokemon, drifted to the side, and sat down. 'You're happy,' Deoxys observed. She wasn't sure where he was, but she assumed nearby. A... very peaceful smile crossed her face. 'Well I did just win my eighth badge...' she replied with dry amusement. It still didn't feel entirely real... 'But your emotional status... it is calm, peaceful. Content. Perhaps even characteristic of blissful.' Ajicka rolled her eyes with a bit of a smirk at his analytical notation. 'I would have expected much more aggressive, boisterous, and victorious emotions from you.' Ajicka shrugged, even knowing he likely couldn't see her.
'I'm just happy,' she remarked, smiling fondly, leaning forward and resting her elbows on her knees, 'Really, really happy... REALLY happy.' Her smile turned into a grin as she thought, the excitement bubbling back up. Her eyes flashed again, and the balloon that had melted to a warm joy swelled back up again. 'I can't wait to do it again...' She was grinning a very toothy grin, now, and seemed oblivious to the scurrying going on over at the counter, and the nervous glances sent her way. '.... You intend to create a new team.' It was not a question; Deoxys had read her mind and observed. '... Sort of. I'm going to let my pokemon take a break. I'll keep some with me if I want, at least until I figure out who I'll have with me, and they're strong enough. Bagon will obviously be part of the second team... Elle too, probably. I've got a lot of other pokemon I need to train up as well, though.'
'Have you considered sending some to the Daycare?' Deoxys calmly inquired, 'I've been glossing over minds... It seems a useful and fitting place to loose some of the ones you don't yet have time to tend to, and let them grow stronger at the same time.' Ajicka frowned. 'I'd rather train them myself,' she retorted stubbornly. '......''.... I'll consider it.'
Note: There was a pokeball mix up! They're not really sure how, but pokecenter staff accidentally got Ajicka's Charizard, Nidoking, Metagross, Aerodactyl, and Swampert switched into friendballs! They're fixing it now [ The above pokemon have been jumped to max friendship, and the x5 Friend Balls have been used ]

Sable chuckled a bit as Darren seemed surprised that she actually beat Brock already."It wasn't too long before we met, actually,"she answered as she pulled out one of the cases she had and showed him the badge inside."The abilities of his pokemon made it rough, but between Oaken, Scoundrel, and eevee, we were able to pull out a win."The teen grinned a bit, then closed back up the case and put it away."Of course, that's nothing a good double kick wouldn't have fixed, but oh well. We made do with what we had."She wasn't exactly trying to brag, but she couldn't help but be a bit proud of how the battle had went. The badge didn't mean much other than as the symbol of proof needed to move on, but the fight itself was a fun one.
Although the thought had made her cheery, she kept it under control as she listened to Darren explain his point of view on the badge thing. And it was something she could understand. But that didn't change how she felt about it."Yeah, I can see that. It's just... I dunno, it seems to be a self-correcting problem. Lazy trainers have a harder time getting strong pokemon in the first place,"she commented, then laughed a bit. It died into awkward silence when she noticed the far off look in Darren's face, though. It actually made her a bit uncomfortable, so the teen tried to say something to put a better spin back on things."Well, whatever works, it works. You guys have your way, we have ours. And as much as I might gripe about it, I'm out here, so I'm playing by your rules."The teen gave a bit of a chuckle and a smile, then finished off her oatmeal.
Jin had wandered over and grabbed a couple of pecha berries from the bowl, so when Darren apologized for pulling the duo off their original plan he was in a good position to grin, go over, and ruffle the guy's hair a bit."Heh, no biggie. We were probably gonna need to celebrate the win soon anyway,""Heh, no biggie. We were probably gonna need to celebrate the win soon anyway,"the dark type replied, then took a bite of one of the berries he had as he stepped away a bit. Sable gave a chuckle and smiled at Darren. "Eh, he's kinda right, I guess. And aside from... Things... It was pretty fun."The teen apparently had no hard feelings as she stood up from her seat and stretched a bit.
While Darren tried and failed to wake up Alex, Sable got her and Jin's trays, bowls, plates, and silverware stacked neatly. She figured she aught to refuse Darren's offer to take them out to the cafeteria, though."Nah, I've got to see about getting some food for my team anyway. Not really fair for Flynn to get breakfast while they don't,"she replied, purposely leaving out Jin from that statement as she shouldered her bag and grabbed the stacked trays. Granted, he was the other reason it wasn't fair, but half-asleep or no, she didn't want to say it in front of Alex."Mind leaving him a note on what we plan on doing in case he gets moving before we get done with Cerulean?"she asked as she opened the door, then stepped out into the hall as Jin grabbed a sheet of paper and hastily scrawled a note letting Alex know that they planned on going through Pewter, Cerulean, and maybe Vermillion. Then, the disguised Zorua left the note sitting on top of Alex's stuff and followed Sable out to the cafeteria.

Haha, meanwhile I'm dead average in height and have such a meek personality that people can forget I'm in the area when I'm sitting just across the table from them. XD
Yep. Higher levels plus more powerful moves plus occasional type advantages meant I'd have done poorly at the time. And ah, I see. XD We usually end up with the sweet ones, going with things like fruits, cinnamon, sugar... Plus a bit of butter if we want saltiness and milk to cool it down.
Any ideas where you want to introduce the gekkit and who to give it to? I was figuring on initially introducing the one claimed for Sable and Jin in Viridian Forest since, while Ilex might be better, I don't see her heading to Johto anytime soon. So I'm probably gonna have Jin feel like he's being watched while the group goes through the forest, and then have the actual claiming occur sometime after Darren gets the Boulder Badge.
And figuring on next post being a moving on post. Gonna do a blah section of Sable letting out the rest of her Pokemon to munch on some food (didn't want to do it in the bedroom because it'd probably get crowded real quick), she recalls them, and then she leaves and heads to the forest.

Ajicka looked up as Nurse Joy-- nervously? -- called that her pokemon were ready. Ajicka raised an eyebrow at her, and the woman anxiously smiled back. What... did she have a gun to her back or something? There was another long moment of staring, during which the Nurse seemed to slowly raise her shoulders in growing anxiety, but Ajicka finally shrugged, and collected her pokeballs. She bought the crew some food, then headed out, wandering away from town, off on a side path that led away, towards some trees, and grass and such-- actually, now that she thought about it, she was pretty sure that was the way to the Elite Four.
She wasn't headgint there, though. Not yet. She wanted to travel more, get more badges... she would need to train her team a lot before even trying it, anyway, and they really did deserve a break. Instead she headed off the path and into some trees, wandering until she found a relatively clear spot, releasing everyone, and dropping down to start distributing the food, smiling lightly. Arrow hung back, his head bowed a bit. She noticed, glancing over at him as she gave the food to the others, then walked over, holding his food in one bag. "Don't feel bad, Arrow," she remarked, a bit dryly, reaching up to rest her hand on his muzzle, "This won't be our last battle. There will be other chances, and we'll just figure out a way to try and make sure that doesn't happen next time." He glanced up at her, clearly not reassured.
"Besides," she added, offering him his food, "I still couldn't have won without you, really. It was a close battle-- every hit counted." That wasn't really true; Jolteon could have likely taken Pidgeot out just as easily, and much more quickly than it took with Arrow flinching all the time. She might have endured more hits, but as it turned out, she hadn't really needed to use the electric pokemon after that-- so that wouldn't have changed things. But she didn't want Arrow moping; even if she was still irritated, and a bit disappointed, at how things had gone, it just showed her that she had routes to work around and tactics to build up. She would have to figure out something else.
"Here, eat up," she added, setting his food down for him to start on, "I have an announcement for everyone."

Darren stared at Sable's badge in awe as she showed it off. "Well it must have been a good battle! Having Oaken around must have been a big help." He agreed after Sable told him the details and the slight struggles they had faced with Brock. Though as she commented about badges, they seemed to have different opinions on the matter, not that Darren minded. It was always interesting to hear other perspectives, and it wasn't like Darren didn't understand where Sable was coming from. Lazy trainers couldn't train pokemon enough to actually make them strong enough to become disobedient, that was true enough. "That's true... And yet there are still inexperienced trainers with ridiculously strong pokemon. You saw one of them when you met me." He pointed out, referencing the bug catcher boy in the forrest who had borrowed his mother's Beedrill. That was a lesser variant of what Darren was getting at though. Lazy didn't always mean couch potato trainers. It also included cheaters who stole strong pokemon from other trainers, or were even gifted strong pokemon from the get go by rich parents or bosses. His thoughts went to Void, how they armed their own with strong pokemon, regardless of how many badges they had. This even applied to himself. He had already been given Iris and now Zephyr. It wasn't right, he wanted to earn his pokemon's strength and trust, but the DiCaprio's urged him to cut corners. It made Darren uncomfortable, but could he really say no?
These thoughts were why his expression had grown distant, completely unaware of the awkward silence he was creating in doing so, or the fact that he was making Sable uncomfortable. Not until she spoke up again and redirected Darren's attention. He was back, engaged into the world around him once more. "Yeah! No it's fine, really. Like I said, I understand. I'm not offended, really. In fact, I find it rather interesting to see the differences and effects first hand." Darren chuckled, moving his arms behind his head. The topic moved on to Tanabata, since Sable was talking about how her pokemon had grown exponentially while she was there. Darren didn't mean to spoil her plans, feeling responsible for dragging her there in the first place, though Jin reassured him with a ruffle of his hair that all was well. Darren chuckled and pushed Jin's hand away in good humor as the Zorua stepped back with a grin to munch on his pecha berries. Though, when Sable agreed the Zorua was right, he felt a bit better. "Well, I'm glad you enjoyed yourself for the most part. It was pretty fun. I mean, we did see a Moltres after all. Who can really complain about that?" He laughed. Though if they had actually gotten third degree burns on their backs that wouldn't have been so great but.... They weren't hurt, and Darren was happy. "Speaking of which, can I see that picture you took?" Darren asked, eyes flashing with curiosity, though Sable had her hands full with their treys and such. "Or later, at some point hen your hands are free." He chuckled, gathering up their dishes as well.
He understood when Sable suggested that she needed to feed the rest of her team. To be honest, Darren did too; Flynn and Claire couldn't be the only ones eating this morning. With that, Sable had Jin write the sleeping Alex a not while Darren gathered up his bag and waited for Sable to do the same and for Jin to place the finished note before holding the door open for them and moving into the cafeteria. There he set the trays, plates, bowls, and silverware that he had gathered in their assorted dirty dish piles before releasing the rest of his team, with the exception of Iris and Zephyr, into the cafeteria. "Okay guys, soups on, eat your fill." Darren announced before turning to Sable. "They shouldn't be any trouble, would you mind watching them while I head outside to feed Zephyr and Iris? I'd... Rather not let them out in here." Darren pleaded. Flynn stood dutifully by Darren's side, since he had already eaten, he wanted to venture out with Darren just in case while he fed his "problem pokemon". "When you're finished, you can just meet me outside the center, okay? They'll follow you." He trusted that Sable would be fine, and his pokemon could hold their own without causing trouble. Flynn did eye Bolt a bit though, a warning look that told the Pikachu to be on his best behavior. Bolt was biting into an apple and glowering back at Flynn, but it was clear he was dissuaded to try and do anything. He owed Darren that much at least.
With that, Darren gathered some pokefood, mushrooms, and various meats before making his way out of the center with Flynn by his side. The Charmeleon growled uneasily, but Darren was fairly confident they could do this. Iris seemed tame, angry, but not violent. Zephyr on the other hand was a bit of a wild card, and who Darren was more worried about. As they stepped out of the center, Darren let Iris out of her pokeball first, bracing for the worst. Iris floated in the air, staring down at Darren and silently judging him as usual, but when he offered her some mushrooms, she seemed to accept them without any aggression, moving away from them both to eat in peace. That was about what Darren had expected. It was a good thing he knew her favorite food. They were smaller mushrooms than the first one he had given her but she still seemed to enjoy them all the same. Now it was Zephyrs turn.... Hesitantly letting the Skarmory out of his pokeball, the metallic bird caught sight of Darren and hissed menacingly. "Hey now, if you want food you have to calm down." Darren said firmly. Zephyr clicked his beak irritably in response, though adjusted his stance warily. He was hungry... Darren pulled out a piece sausage and held it up for the Skarmory to see, and Zephyr squawked, starting to charge for the meat, but Flynn intercepted with a feral growl, making the Skarmory back off in a panic and stumble over itself a bit. That Charmander had gotten bigger! Zephyr got back to his feet slowly and awkwardly, flapping his wings to help, and soon he was standing straight once again, turning his head this way and that, all the while eyeing the sausage in Darren's hand. Once the bird stood still, Darren tossed the Sausage to Zephyr, who gobbled it up in an instant. "Good bird." Darren praised, and Flynn backed off. Darren held up another bit of sausage, and this time Zephyr didn't charge for Darren, looking over at Flynn instead. The Charmeleon stood with arms crossed, not quite as trusting as Darren was. "Alright, now come here, slowly." Darren instructed. Zephyr cocked his head it once side, taking a step closer, then another. He gave a slightly aggressive squawk of displeasure at this odd training Darren was putting him through, but otherwise made no sudden moves. That was, until he eventually he reached Darren, and quickly snatched the food from his hand. Darren hissed in pain, as the Skarmory's razor sharp beak had scratched his thumb and index finger. It wasn't anything terrible but the hastiness of Zephyr's grab at the food had caused the bird to grow careless as to what exactly he was pecking at.
Zephyr didn't seem to notice, tossing his prize of food up in the air and swallowing it whole like a greedy baby bird. Afterwards he continued to inch towards Darren, poking his beak towards the boy's pockets. He wanted more, where was this fleshling keeping all the food? Darren backed up away from the Skarmory. "Stop, I've got more, but you need to stay still." Zephyr hissed contemptuously, earning a warning growl from Flynn, and causing the Skarmory to turn his attention to the fire type, giving another annoyed squawk. "Stop it, both of you!" Darren reprimanded. Iris turned her head, watching with intrigue as to what in the world Darren thought he was doing, but Darren didn't notice his spectator, focusing on Zephyr. "Now, stay there." Darren commanded, backing away just a little so that they weren't so uncomfortably close together before pulling out another bit of meat. Zephyr tried to quickly snatch it out of his hand again, but this time Darren was prepared, moving his hand out of the way, but Zephyr was persistent, following Darren's hand and trying to peck at it over and over, inching closer to the boy, but Darren continued to back away, a stern look on his face. "Stop." He said firmly. He wasn't yelling, yelling would only cause more aggression. Zephyr still wasn't happy, hissing and clicking his beak irritably. Why wasn't he getting any food??? "Every time you lunge, I'm going to move my hand, so you can either keep snapping at me and not be fed, or you can take it gently, not hurt my hand in the process, and get your food. Which is is going to be?" Darren said sternly. Zephyr hissed long and hard, squatting down into a little trembling ball of rage, but Darren held his ground, and eventually, the Skarmory slowly craned it's neck, and gently took the sausage out of Darren's open palm. Afterwards it was viciously gobbled up like the rest of them, but it was progress. "There, that wasn't so hard." Darren said with a smile, and moved to try and stroke the Skarmory's beak, though the gesture was met with a screech and a flurry of bladed wings as Zephyr backed away from Darren's hand. Thankfully Darren didn't sustain any damage, but whatever temporary bond he had forged earlier was now gone. With a sigh, Darren set the rest of the meat on the ground for the Skarmory so he could eat his fill. He knew he wasn't going to be able to bond with Zephyr overnight, but for a moment there, he'd thought they'd made a breakthrough. Maybe if he continued training, over time, Zephyr might be able to break away from Void's manipulation.

Jeez yeah I have no idea who I'm going to give it to yet. xDx I won't be giving it to Scarlett, I know that for sure at least. I feel like it would fit in well with Natalia best, but she already has soooo many pokemon. So does Isis, so I'm kind of tempted to give it to Darren, but would that be weird with Jin getting one? And I'm not vigs but I'm sure that having it take notice of Jin in Viridian and shadow him into Pewter would be acceptable to her. x3
And yeah, it would be crowded if that ended up happening lol. I thought about it too with Darren but was like oh man wait no. xD

Ajicka turned her head slightly as she heard the crunch of footsteps nearby, pausing, her pokemon also shifting their focus from her. She turned as the person approached, but frowned when she noticed who it was. "Oh thanks for the greeting," ZK snarled, what had been a passive expression quickly changing to a sneer. Ajicka rolled her eyes. "Relax," she dismissed, waving a hand at him, "Didn't mean to shove a stick up your a**." ZK's right eye twitched and he glowered at her, but silently passed her to lean against a nearby tree. She turned to follow him, raising an eyebrow.
"Did you come here for a reason?" she asked. He looked back at her and narrowed his eyes. "Well you do sort of own me," he snapped back, then looked away, "And I WAS going to congratulate you." Ajicka smirked. "Well thanks," she replied, and gave him another dismissive gesture when he turned to retaliate, her focus already shifting back to her pokemon. He shut his mouth, glaring at her, then looking away, his expression softening as he apparently went off to his own thoughts.
"I don't think we're ready for the Elite Four," Ajicka started, trying not to feel weird giving, essentially, something of a speech to her pokemon, who where all watching her, "So I'm probably going to head to another region, do some more gym-challenges... Normally I'd just do this and do whatever, but I wanted to give you guys some say. You've... well, obviously more than earned it. I think you guys deserve a break-- and I need to train more of my pokemon. But, if you want to keep traveling and training for a bit..." She shrugged. "I won't stop you. Any of you interested in not taking a break? This doesn't mean I won't still train you guys, of course... I tjust means I'll be able to focus on other pokemon." Almost immediately, Jolteon stepped forward. "Jol, teon!" she demanded. Ajicka raised an eyebrow, looking at her a moment. "I'm guessing that means you'd rather train," she assumed, and though her expression was neutral, there was just the slightest smile tugging at the corner of her lips.
She'd always felt she had a... strange relationship with Jolteon. It had been strained at first, but the pokemon had stuck with her; she'd always stuck with her. She'd been her second pokemon after Jas, and het she'd felt distanced from her. But the pokemon continued to remain at her heels. She worked hard to train, but she was often quiet. She wasn't a pokemon Ajicka necessarily connected with, but Ajicka felt that was primarily her fault, for having failed her so many times. So it was a relief, in a way, to find that she wanted to continue traveling, and training. Even if it was possible it was only for the benefit of the latter.
Ajicka nodded, though, to confirm, looking over as Jas gave an uncertain grumble. She smiled. "Don't worry, Jas, I have something in particular in mind for you," she replied with a laid back smirk. The pokemon relaxed, and her gaze shifted to the others. "No one else?" And though there was an odd hesitation in her chest, she was somewhat glad to see the rest were content with a break. She knew it wasn't because they were relieved to stop training; it was because they knew she needed to focus on other pokemon, and that they would be out of place at the easier gyms. Jolteon and Jas would be more than enough, with Deoxys above them, to keep their trainer safe; they would take the opportunity to recuperate where they could, and allow others to gain their trainer's focus.
Giving a final nod, she bowed her head, then dropped down, and laid back. "Good, then... After this, I'll do some rearranging, and let you guys start your break," she said, "In the meantime... I'm taking a nap."

Walking Pokemon ⇨
At least it seemed she hadn't put Darren off too badly. Sable had actually been concerned about that when she spoke up."Yeah, it's kinda amusing, really. See how the other side lives and all that jazz,"the teen replied, chuckling as well as she took her and Jin's dirty dishes out to the cafeteria. She even shot the male a grin when he asked to see the picture she took."No problem! I'll hand you the camera once the rest of the team's eaten,"she told him cheerfully, feeling much better now that she had gotten cleaned up, fed, and relaxed. Just the thing to plaster up those pesky cracks in a facade.
Once in the cafeteria, the two trainers put their dirty dishes where they belonged before sending out their pokemon. Well, most of their pokemon. Sable was fine with sending out all the pokemon she had with her at the moment, but Darren seemed hesitant to let out his skarmory and dragalge while inside the building. Not that she could blame the teen in the slightest, given what little she had seen of the skarmory's attitude problem. When asked to watch the group, Sable gave Darren a reassuring smile."Yeah, sure. Try not to lose a hand out there,"she said jokingly, although she did mean what she said. She didn't want to go outside to find the teen had a bloody stump or something.
While most of the pokemon ate their fill of pellets, berries, and whatever else they wanted, Sable dug out the camera she had while Jin stood around uncomfortably."...Hey?""Hm?"Jin walked over to his trainer which, coupled with him finally talking, got Sable's attention."Mind if I wait outside, sis? I feel like I need to stretch my legs, and I might as well do it outside instead of in here,"he asked, frowning a bit afterwards. He waited a bit as the teen thought the request over."...Yeah, sure. Just try to make sure and hang around somewhere we can find you at."Jin shot the trainer a grin and waved a bit."Sure! I'll meet up with you guys at the north exit,"he told the teen, then turned and left the building.
While Sable kept an eye on the small horde of creatures scarfing down their breakfasts, Jin decided to wander around for a while. It was still early, but the cool morning air was doing a decent job with getting rid of whatever scraps of tiredness he still had. It seemed like most people were still sleeping or something, since the streets were clear. It gave the disguised zorua a chance to think about things. He had been feeling himself grow stronger for a while, even though he had barely done any actual training. Soon, he'd have to worry about his evolution and how he'd handle it. He actually laughed a moment as he thought about how both Sable and Darren acted about their pokemon evolving behind their backs. It made him wonder a bit how they might react towards his own plans concerning his evolution.
Sable had enough time to grab some more juice while the others ate. By the time she was about half-way through her second glass of cranberry juice, the others were looking at her in a way that she knew what they were thinking."Well, if you're done, we'll go meet up with Darren once I finish this,"she told the group, then quickly gulped down the remaining contents of the glass and put it with the other dirty glasses before recalling her team and heading out of the building. She held the door open for Darren's pokemon, then walked over to where Darren, Iris, and Zepher were at."Alright, we're rea- Yikes!"The teen's greeting was rather hastily cut off when she noticed the scratch marks on Darren's hand."At least he didn't take a finger off... Need a couple of bandaids?"she offered as she dug out a couple of adhesive bandages.
Whether they were accepted or not, Sable would glance over at the oddly-colored skarmory with a look of warning in her eyes before facing Darren again with a softer expression."Anyway, Jin wanted to take a bit of the walk, so we're gonna meet up with him at the northern exit,"she told the teen, then started heading off in that direction. As she got to where she could see the way onward to the forest, sure enough, there was Jin."Have a nice walk? Hope you feel up for more walking,"she told the dark type and ended up getting a chuckle in return."Yeah, it was fine. Gave me a chance to stretch out before our little hike through the forest."The disguised zorua grinned at the duo, then followed along beside Sable as the group left for the forest.

XD Yep. Which is why our OoC conversations can get so huge. X'D Two people that don't know when to stop chatting (or if we do, aren't inclined to).
Hmm... It might be a little weird, but honestly... Wouldn't be the weirdest coincidence I've had happen in an RP. XD And it might make more sense if one of us ended up holding off on the introducing, since there's typically at least one forest or set of woods in each region.
X'D Yeaaaaaaaah... Bad enough to have a big team, but dat skarmory... Someone would probably end up getting a nice new set of gashes. ...And for some reason, I so see Sable taking a rolled-up newspaper and swatting Zephyr's beak with it. XD With potentially painful consequences for Sable.

Darren looked forward to seeing the picture that Sable had taken, the product of all their hiking and sneaking and nearly getting burnt to a crisp. Having the picture to tell the tale would make it all worth it though. Well that an the hot springs was a nice reward too. They alerted Alex of their plans, then moved to the cafeteria to let the rest of their teams eat their fill, though Darren excused himself to feed his more dangerous and unruly pokemon, chuckling as Sable accepted her task of watching over his other pokemon while they ate, as well as her warning to try not to lose a hand. "I'll be fine, I've had worse." He dismissed, trying to ease her worry. It was true though, Darren had dealt with some seriously abused and mistreated pokemon while at his grandfather's daycare. The emotional scarring was clear when they backed into a corner and lashed out fearfully every time you drew near. Darren's grandfather always took in these poor abandoned pokemon and put them up for adoption after they had healed as much damage as they could, but in the meantime they had to get these pokemon to eat and drink, which was often difficult to do with pokemon who wouldn't cooperate.
Surprisingly enough, he felt rather at home dealing with his Skarmory. He didn't even notice when Jin had come out of the building and wandered off, though when Sable came out to inspect the aftermath, Darren attempted to hide his hand, though it was too late. "It's not as bad as it looks, r-really...." He tried to reassure her. They were clean cuts at least, but he wouldn't deny the bandages Sable offered. He took them one at a time and began taping up his hand, giving Sable a soft apologetic smile. "Thanks..." He nodded, returning the rest of his team–with the exception of Flynn–as Sable explained that they were to meet up with Jin at the north exit. "Alright, sounds like a plan." He nodded, following off after Sable. It didn't take very long before they saw Jin's familiar human form, who seemed well up for more walking now that he had stretched his legs out a bit. "Heh, well it's no Mount Ember, but it'll do for a hike." Darren chuckled, turning to Sable as they made their way towards the forest. "Speaking of which, can I see that picture now...?" He asked with a smile.

Yeah I don't think I'll be claiming mine any time soon since I still haven't quite figured out where to place it yet. Though now of course that I've said no Scarlett absolutely wouldn't have this pokemon, of course now I'm actually considering it. It's not her usual type of pokemon to train, but it provides more variety to her team and, not to mention a pokemon who manipulates shadows as well as living beings would be quite useful for her line of work. Oh the decisions @ w@ too manyyy
Exactly, and Darren doesn't want that. >w> Pft oh dear xDx Darren would quickly return him before Zephyr did any irreversible damage to poor Sable. He'd probably also gently reprimand her as he bandaged her up for what she did too though xD Violence only causes more violence, you're only teaching him that hitting someone is okay if your angry, etc etc. He's such a professor type, all these lectures. Arceus help any future children he might have xD

As it would turn out, Ajicka was rather tired; she was able to sleep soundly, not just for the rest of the day, but for the night as well. Jas had came over and curled up near her to keep warm; ZK made a fire with his help, settled in, and fell asleep late in the evening. Most of her other pokemon fell asleep or took turns keeping watch during the night, and Ajicka woke early the next morning, untouched by the drew that wetted everything else, thanks to Jas. She glanced back at him, then yawned, moving away to try not to wake him as she stood. Her back hurt; she had rolled onto her side and now her neck and shoulders hurt a bit as well. Not to mention her hips. She frowned, rubbing her side, then rolling her shoulders and stretching her head from side to side. She moved over to start making bfreakfast; frowning at how long she'd slept. It was early, but still... it had only been late afternoon or so when she laid down. Whatever... she would have to make up for the time.
She let her pokemon sleep for a bit, but once breakfast was ready she woke them, feeding them, confirming the plan, and then... bidding those that wouldn't be coming farewell. It was an... odd feeling. She wasn't leaving them or anything, she could pull them out whenever she wanted, but... the knowledge that she wouldn't, or at least wouldn't for a long time, or certainly not that frequently, was very strange. She could feel the shift that she was making, experience the change as she mentally prepared herself for a new region, a new team.
She wasn't positive she was ready.
However, she didn't have much of a choice. Or at least, she didn't give herself one. As she tucked Swampert's pokeball away, leaving only Jas, Jolteon and, obviously, Zak and Deoxys out, she turned to head back towards civilization-- only to almost immediately nearly trip over something small and furry darting out. Whatever it was had frozen and curled up when it noticed her, and she had to try hard not to kick it as she took a spontaneous, unbalanced jump, stumbling and just barely, getting a foot out in front of her in time to land, wobble, then get her footing. She turned, her eyes wide, both in surprise and annoyance, but her expression easily melted away to a slight frown at the Fennekin staring up at her.
"Wow," ZK muttered, and it was hard to tell if it was an honest remark, or sarcasm. She figured it was safer to assume the latter, and gave him an annoyed glance, to which he merely gazed back at her. She looked back to the Fennekin, who was still gazing expectantly up at her. "Are you lost?" she asked, still frowning, after a long moment of silence. 'It needs a new trainer,' Deoxys' voice spoke up after a moment. The Fennekin shifted his gaze up to him, watching him hover near the branches of some nearby trees. 'Apparently, it's previous one abandoned it.'
Ajicka's frown grew. "Oh," she muttered, "I can--" She paused, closing her eyes and scratching the back of her head. Seriously? Seriously? She hadn't even been able to put her pokemon in the PC yet! She was quiet a moment longer, then gestured in the direction town was. "If you come with me, I can see what we can do," she offered it, "I need to put my pokemon in the PC. We can see if anyone there can take care of you... I mean... I guess I could, if you wanted, but I'm not an easy trainer." At least she was honest. The Fennekin didn't seem perturbed-- he just looked up at her, as he had before -- and she sighed, turning and leading the way. She paused as she heard a scuffing sound, then a thump, glancing back to see that the pokemon had tripped in his attempt to follow her.

After a few trips from their new Fennekin tag-a-long, Ajicka and her pokemon managed to make it back to the pokecenter. Deoxys disappeared to observe from afar, again, and ZK simply railed along, keeping a bit of distance. Ajicka paused at the pokecenter, then returned Jas, apologizing but explaining he was... just a little to big. And also he was on fire. Open flames from a large pokemon in a building wasn't the best idea.
Once inside, she walked over to the counter, picking up the oddly-colored Fennekin, and setting him on the counter. "I found this," she stated, as though returning something to a Lost and Found, "He needs a new trainer.""Oh! I see! Poor thing..." Nurse Joy remarked sympathetically, letting the pokemon sniff her, before beginning to give it a quick examination. "Were you planning to take it?" she questioned Ajicka lightly, "You can just catch it in a pokeball, if it doesn't have a trainer.""Oh, um...""Well, at any rate, he seems to be in excellent health," the Nurse continued, pulling back with a smile. "That's.... good," Ajicka muttered awkwardly. There was a pause, and she looked at the Fennekin, who turned to look right back at her with startling green eyes.
The odd eye contact lasted a moment, before Ajicka sighed, relaxing her stance and placing a hand on her hip. "You wanna come with me?" she offered, gesturing absently to the side. "Fen! Fennekin!" he accepted, nodding his head. She closed her eyes, but then nodded, opening them again and drawing out a pokeball. "Alright," she said, opening it to absorb the pokemon in. She looked down as it wiggled in her hand, then blinked red, releasing a small sound to confirm the capture, "Welcome to the team, Fennekin..."

With heavy steps she made the shift over to the Pokecenter's PC. It felt so strange to be emptying out her team in exchange for others. She'd pretty much done it before, but there was something more permanent to it. It was like setting down a heavy load, but it had been familiar, comforting-- it wasn't one you really wanted to let go of. Still, though, she forced herself to move up, log in, and begin sending her pokemon into the system. She easily moved Bagon to her belt-- and then stopped when she noticed something out of place in her PC. Her eyes narrowed. When.... had she caught a Munchlax....?
She felt a strange stutter in her chest. She hadn't. She knew she hadn't. Had someone sent it to her? She began quickly looking through her pokemon. Everyone seemed accounted for, but-- what the hell?? Where was Archen!? She went through again-- then again. She opened her pokedex, confirming she had the entry-- then looked, and searched, and scoured her PC for it. "Nurse Joy....?" she called, starting to get angry. "Hm?" the pink-haired woman leaned over, looking questioningly at her. "One of my pokemon is missing," she stated flatly, turning to look at her, "And another, unfamiliar one has taken its place." The Nurse blinked, then quickly came around the counter to look. "Oh dear, are you certain?" she asked, looking quizzically at the computer. ".... Yes, I'm certain of which pokemon I caught," she breathed back, feeling her anger start to boil. Had someone STOLEN her pokemon!?! And replaced it with a.... a MUNCHLAX? The pokemon wasn't bad, but.... She hadn't AGREED to any trades!
Nurse Joy frowned. "I'll look into it," she promised, and quickly strode to the phones. Personally, Ajicka wasn't taking any risks-- she quickly sent a message to warn them, and immediately transferred all his pokemon to be sent to her aunt and uncle. She looked over as Nurse Joy nervously returned. "They're not sure what's going on at the moment, but--""I already sent my pokemon somewhere else," Ajicka interrupted, frowning at her, "I'll bring the Munchlax with me. Let me know when you find out who the trainer is, and I'll take it to them." She tucked the pokeball away, as well as the other pokemon she'd withdrawn before sending everyone else to her family. She would just have to contact them whenever she wanted to change out her team a bit...

The distraction of the mishap with the PC was enough to at least begin Ajicka's train of thought on a new set of tracks. She had a new set of pokemon with her-- well, mostly. Jas and Jolteon, obviously, were the lead power houses she had kept with her, and it wasn't really like Bagon and Elle were 'new', but... It was a transitional team, and it was good. She could use Jas to show some of her pokemon how to properly battle, Jolteon too. She would have to... talk to Jas about what she had in mind, though. Let him know what his options were. She couldn't really keep him in her team forever, after all; at a certain point, he just wouldn't gain anything from it.
For now, though, she focused on heading out of the pokecenter, turning towards ZK, who followed, his arms crossed over his chest. "So? What do you want to do?" she asked him, quirking an eyebrow. He raised one in response, looking at her, but then closed his eyes, giving a shrug. "I have a communication device on me," he said, "I can call you if I need something." Ajicka rolled her eyes. "I'm not your waiter, and I'm not your servant, and I'm not--""I know," ZK cut her off, sneering, his eyes dark as he looked at her, "What you are. But I think we both agreed that this is a thing of convenience. If something comes up, you let me know, vice versa. I won't expect anything." She stared at him a moment, then rolled her eyes.
"Okay, fine," she stated, releasing Fearow, "Keep in contact. Or don't." She hauled herself up onto the pokemon. "Whatever." She glanced down at him, meeting his gaze, but then turned of, Fearow curving away, and then flapping his wings, rapidly taking off, and soaring into the air. ZK watched them, then dropped his arms to his sides. He had a trainer now... and yet he was still... utterly free to traverse as he saw fit.

Matt emerged from Route 1 with Bulbasaur close behind and stopped in front of the sign leading towards Viridian City. The town was a lot larger than what he had imagined, but he was sure the three Trainers could find what they needed there and continue towards Pewter City. They would probably need to swing by the Pokemon Center for any healing, and then the PokeMart for supplies. Matt was the first out of the tall grass, so he waited at the sign for Teddy and Hayes to catch up. It wasn't a very long trip through Route 1, but all three Trainers had been attacked by wild Pokemon. Since Matt had training in battling it didn't take him long to win and continue forward. "How you guys doing back there?" Matt called out with a chuckle in Teddy and Hayes' general direction.

"Aside from an ornery Pidgey, it's all good." Hayes replied as he stepped off Route 1 and gave a half-hearted wave to Matt, who'd been ahead of both himself and Teddy... and here he'd been thinking it was him who'd made it through the battle without any trouble. After he'd caught up, he stood beside Matt and the sign outside of the city, half-reading it and half-looking at the city a short distance in front of them. It was his first time here, although he'd heard about it before.
"It wouldn't be a bad idea to check out the PokéMart and see if we need anything... I don't think I forgot anything, but you never know." He said absent-mindedly as he ran over what he'd brought with him in his head, in case he'd forgotten anything and needed to pick it up at the PokéMart. After all, you never knew if you had everything you needed until you were on the road and found yourself without it; or at least, that had been his experience with it.

By the time that Teddy had got to the sign welcoming him to Viridian City, his travelling companions Hayes and Matt were already there waiting for him. "Sorry for the delay guys. Walking through long grass with no shoes. Jeez. Sure makes a trip harder. Can be said though, the grass tickles your legs something rotten. Here, thought you guys would have left me behind and headed onto Pewter City or something" Teddy said, swinging his knapsack towel over his shoulder. "You guys run into anything tough out there? Me and Bulba ran into a Rattata but saw it off in no time!" Teddy looked around. He needed to find the Pokemon Centre as soon as he could, inform his folks where he was and maybe get some back up sent over.
Only then afterwards could he find some pants.
