(: Hello. I go by JP on Gaia, so please go ahead and call me that.

I'm a rising junior at one of the top ten universities in the USA, and for some reason I still hang around Gaia a lot . . . probably because I have a pixel problem. d: I'm a psychology major with side concentrations on environmental studies and (I hope - it's a competitive program) creative writing. This summer I'm interning at an environmental nonprofit in Washington, following climate legislation and writing about the EPA's renewable fuel standard rule, especially indirect land use change in emissions accounting.

On lifestyle stuff: I am not a vegetarian, but I eat very little meat - mostly chicken, when I do - and I deeply respect my vegetarian friends for having the conviction to make the switch. I love the outdoors, especially water, and I've lived by a river for my whole life. Religiously, both my parents are Christian (one Catholic, one Protestant), but I was never brought up that way. I consider myself kind of an Emersonian Unitarian, but with less focus on Man as the center of all things; I believe in complexity theory and the ineffability of Nature, but I'm agnostic with regard to God. I am an inveterate light-turner-outer and recycler . . . but I have an unfortunate love of big American luxury cars, because my dad kind of raised me to, and gave me one (a '96, too, so the mileage isn't great). Also, long, hot showers.

So I'm a pretty sinful environmentalist, all told, though I'm quite well-read on a lot of environmental and development issues. I definitely have non-environmental aspects of my interests and personality . . . but I suspect they're unconsciously tied to global crisis and awe of Nature. Pleasure to meet you. xD

hello, i am known online as aradia. i'm a 23 year old mom of identical twin girls, married to my mate for life. i've always loved "hobby farming" and have been trying to homestead as best i can in the house we own here in the city of tampa. but we're looking for a new house with more land that's better for homesteading. i love to DIY on just about everything, love eco-living, love being self-sufficient. i'm a "crunchy granola" mom (google it if you are unfamiliar with the phrase) doing attachment parenting, breastfeeding, cloth diapering, co-sleeping, babywearing, ect. i hope that covers everything about me!

Well.. my name is Cheryl!

I'm 18 and I live in Saskatchewan, Canada. But I used to live in BC! Lower Mainland for seven years and Vancouver Island for seven years!
When I lived on Vancouver Island I learned a lot of stuff about the 'natural' way of life.

I was pretty much raised organic my mother was very into home remedies for stuff, buying second hand and re-using clothes, growing her own fruits and vegetables. Composting and recycling! Buying from farmers markets and fair trade shops. I never really thought that I was much like her while growing up but now that I am out on my own I still do a lot of the same things.

I am currently unemployed and mooching off my boyfriend. We live in a big enough condo and have two guinea pigs. We also just started an aquarium tonight and are going to have some tetras, african dwarf frogs, and one betta fish.

I don't ever see myself having an ordinary job; I really just want to be a stay at home mother, possibly even homeschooling my children, although I want them to be in activities outside of the house so they can meet other children.

I love tea.. I probably drink about 5 cups a day.

I just started playing WoW.. it's a pretty amusing game; although I don't think I will end up getting addicted.

Allo thar ;D

I go by Kymeara on Gaia, so derive whatever nickname you would like from that. I am a freshman in college and will be transferring at the semester in order to start in a nursing program. My ultimate goal is to become a certified nurse midwife. I would love to do home births and give my clients the best care possible, which is why I chose not to go into direct-entry midwifery. From what I've researched, CNMs tend to have better relationships with those working in hospitals and also have an easier time of getting medication should a mother-to-be request a backup. But enough of my excited blabbing; I didn't come here to yak about my dream (though I would love to discuss it with others! xD)

I am here to learn more about an 'organic' way of living and the benefits of doing so. I look forward to conversing with as many people as possible and, please, don't be scared to approach me! I love to talk/debate/learn/teach with many people. =D

Hello, everyone!

I'm Akabi, 30 years so far and still counting razz Thanks so much for the invitation! I'm one of those ecofriendly persons... because of my religion ^^;; Yeah, I'm a wiccan, so for me the planet is a mother and father and not just something inanimate, so I like to contribute a tiny bit to make it a better place and keep it happy.

I live in Canada with my boyfriend since a couple of years ago, and we love to cook and have long walks in the wild. He's a huge fan of mountaneering, and usually drags me around xd I have no physical condition, but I try to keep up with his pace as much as posible. Though you can count that I'll sleep for two days after a week of mountaneering sweatdrop

I also love videogames, books and movies, specially horror. I love manga and anime, and I like to draw.

Feel free to ask me questions, comment my profile or annoy me anytime <3

Happy Holidays!

Well, my name is Caira (k-eye-ruh) and I'm 16 years old. I bike EVERYWHERE I go and I refuse to let my mom buy me a car unless it's a hybrid or electric xd

I live in the great state of Texas where my favorite natural place in the whole wide world is Landa Park's Edwards Aquifer (it's so beautiful!) My family has four cats and three dogs named Miggie, Maxinie, Mittens, Goose-Goose, Roxie, Old Man Sam, and Abbey respectively. Though I love our animal family, Miggie is my personal 22lb Maine Coon that's always by my side ^_^

I'm part Comanche and rediscovering my heritage, so I'm really excited about going green and loving the Earth! I adore anime, books, animals, costumes, writing, singing, meeting new people and growing flowers.

Well, I go by Raiyne on Gaia. I'm 23 and this is my last semester of traditional schooling, I've been studying child development and hopefully will get a teaching job before I start my apprenticeship to become a midwife. I am very passionate about natural birth. Outside of that I love to make things. Mainly I knit right now, but I am working on expanding my skills. I also love to be in nature and my finance and I love to go on hikes together. I am going to be moving soon and am hoping to start an organic garden and composting. Right now I walk everywhere I can, mainly since I don't have any other mode of transportation, although even if I did most places I would still walk to. A bike would make my life a bit more convenient though. I try to recycle whatever I can as well.
Outside of my greener habits/hobbies I also love video games, movies, and I'm slightly addicted to the internet.

Uh hey, I'm Miranda, I go to college. I'm studying sustainable agriculture in Maine (and kind of hope to have a farm here someday down the road). I work as a farm hand, never going to flip burgers or have corporate greed support my life.

So far my only immediate plans are to go on my Travel course in Wales for spring break to CAT, heard of it? It's kinda cool.

This summer I'm probably going to WWOOF in Scotland if I can get my paperwork settled out early on.

Thaaat's about it. If you have any composting/ farming / food industry questions it would be good practice for me to try and help ya'll out.

Morning everyone! I'm Sam, I'm 19 and I'm studying anthropology and religion at school. I'm a pagan, so yes it is considered part of my religion to love nature...but even if it wasn't I'm sure I still would. (Acutally one of the reasons I chose my pagan path was because I loved nature so much.) I'm interested in learning more about how I can help--I need to learn to cook well and work more efficiently in the garden, so if anyone would like to help me there I would appreciate it!

Also any questions you may have about paganism in general, feel free to contact me. My path is different than everyone else's, and I do not claim to know it all, but I will be glad to talk with you!

I am called Ai.

I am eighteen. I am a university student majoring in Latin and Greek. Due to an extended illness, I'll likely be losing my scholarship and thus going into the military to, hopefully, learn Arabic. Language, religion, and culture is my passion. Daniel Jackson was my childhood hero.

I am not environmentally minded. Apathy is a killer (at least of an indirect sort). I'm rather more interested in cutting costs, improving my health, and supporting the local community. It just so happens that doing these things can align with being environmentally friendly. I'm also considering looking into vegetarianism for moral reasons. I'll see what becomes of that.

My fandoms of interest are Stargate, Doctor Who, and Harry Potter (though that is more for the Potter-verse than for the books or movies). I love science fiction and fantasy. I will be attending Time Gate in Atlanta, GA (USA) if anyone cares.

Err...I'm from the USA and I am irreligious.

I think that sums everything up. 3nodding

~Little Red Witch Bird~

Well um Hi!
I'm Nel. I'm a 20 year old polyamorous pansexual pagan (Yay for alliteration!) and if you don't know what that means, find a dictionary.
I love plants- plants and cats, specifically- I find them to be better than people a lot of the time.
I'm a bit of a shut in, because people I don't know terrify me. Is a very unfortunate phobia.
My plants are my escape from the world, my connection to the local spirits and gods, and my hobby. I love watching them grow, harveting, planting...

So yeah.
