We're all happy that you've decided to join our commune of eco-awesome, so please come in and introduce yourselves! Tell us as much, or as little, about yourself as you like. You can give your age and gender, or share your interests.

I'm looking forward to meeting you all!

Not sure where to start? Here are some great threads to get your feet wet:

Haha. I made the thread and now I get to be first post. <3

Hello everyone. My name is onicoe. I'm a girl and 25. I started this guild because everything it encompasses is my passion and how I believe people should be living. There was nothing like it currently on Gaia, so I decided to make my own. yay!

Um. I have two cats and my favorite fruit is mango and I love the colors green and brown and pink and blue. I live next to the ocean in rhode island which is the most wicked state ever.

random fact: day lilies are edible!

OMG. I'm a girl, 25 and have two cats too! ninja I also have two office fish - one otocinclus and one brand new betta. (I'll be getting two more oto's once my betta settles in.)

I work as a reservation agent for a resort town. So, I can get to the point pretty quickly, so please don't think I'm abrupt. (It's that sell, sell, sell attitude!).

I'm going back to school in the fall to get an associates degree in environmental science. From there, if I still like school, I can transfer to a university to get my bachelors degree.

I'm hailing from British Columbia (Canada) and I LOVE Stargate/Star Trek/Battlestar Galactica.

omg secret twin. ninja

I keep thinking about going back and getting a degree relating to botany or like a masters in gardening. I already have my associates in social work. but jobs around here suck and i'm poor which is why i'm not furthering any education atm..

Oh hurray, I'm not the oldest one here! I'm only 24 wink

I live near Boston, Massachusetts (born and raised here). I'm working in software testing for a small start-up, but I am trying to figure out some career switch I can make that's more in-line with my interests and values. I recently moved out of my father's house (FINALLY) and in with my girlfriend ( heart ). We live in a fairly dense urban area which suits me better than I thought it would.

I like sci-fi and fantasy but haven't been reading as much or watching as much in general in recent years as I did when I was younger. I have an insane costuming habit and find corsets and hoopskirts much more comfortable than pantyhose and high heels. I love cooking, and want to learn to make more things "from scratch" (e.g. tempeh, lacto-fermented pickles, alcohol, vinegar... etc.) I am eternally grateful to the people who originally domesticated the potato, because it it my favorite food ever (and a very practical staple!).

Also, I cannot kill you with my brain. At least I don't think I can. I've never tried, though.

Hi! I'm dragon_of_emry. I'm 26 and live in Texas. I love cats, too! And sci-fi. And especially gardening. I'm a college student working on my bachelor's degree. Very excited I finally found some Gaians who sound like me! biggrin

Yay! Introductions! (( i suck at these, bare with me crying ))
My name is Amanda, im 19 years old ^__^
Im originally from Georgia, US, but am in between America and England, going for dual citizenship :3

I like to travel, to garden, and to swim..hrrm..I'm going for a RN in terminal medicine and am so far at my CNA, 2 levels away..i speak both England and Spanish fluently, and am trying to learn French. So, if you'd like to practice either or give me French lessons PM me :3

Since America isn't very environmentally friendly, i learned most of my 'green' practices from my boyfriends mum two years ago, she and her long term partner have been living almost waste free and organic for about 12 years (( before it was 'cool' to recycle x33 ))

Im friendly amd love being a member of this guild, because you guys are the cats pajamas heart

That's cool. I really had to take a long think about what I wanted to do. What sort of work can you get with your social work degree?

Jestina

If you didn't do software, what avenue do you think you'd pursue? Congrats on getting your own place. It's so nice to have your own space.

I'm a big potato fan too. I'll post my Spanish Omelet recipe - I think you'd like it. :3

dragon_of_emry

Nioce. Welcome to the guild. :3 Do you have pets now? I just recently got two new betta fish (one for work, one for home) as my old one died. (Frances was 3 years old. sad ) What are you taking in college?

PiercedPixie2

OMG. Do you watch Relocation Relocation? If you do, I love Kirstie Allsopp. (In Canada, we get lots of UK shows.) It's the bee's knees. XD

My boyfriend is from Wales - and he really wants me to go and see the country. I hope to soon. Where do your boyfriends parents live? I wish I was able to compost and do gardening - too bad that the buildings here are quite on top of each other. (Funny, since most people think Canada is vast... maybe I'm spoiled.)

Relocation Relocation...no ive never seen that =/
I do like Peep Show and QI if you've seen those ^__^

He and his parents live in South Yorkshire, England..which is kind of a shitty area x3

And Wales is soo nice! A month ago i visited the capital, Cardiff.
I like place - but i didn't like the people...every time we went in somewhere, they spoke Welsh and laughed at us =/

I know what you mean about Canada, my boyfriend has family there and when he visited ((before her met)) he said where he went was very urban! But ive seen some photos that are quite natured :3

For an associates level, I can basically work in group homes doing supervision. If you're lucky you might find a place that'll let you do home visits and such. Pretty much all the agencies around here either want bachelor's level or masters PLUS a couple years of experience. It is the suck.

At least the government paid for my degree (mostly) so I didn't loose too much money in the process. I got VA benefits because my dad is a veteran and 100% disabled.

hi [:
i'm t. marsh and i'm a 17-year-old texan. i feel in some ways older and other ways younger than that age.

i am a crazy extremist.

i have a bunny. his name is foo. i love him more than pretty much anything.

strike up a conversation with me on a specific issue and i'll definitely let you know what i think. i tend to be quite firm in my beliefs but very open to new ideas. [: i like new ways of thinking and having my beliefs challenged so that i learn more.

after all, i am a child of mainstream america that has finally opened her eyes and adhered to the counterculture lifestyle that is this guild.

i am a learn-a-holic. i love to read fiction and nonfiction. i enjoy school in terms of the material and not of the people who also attend [private catholic all-girl's school = consumerism & materialism galore. lyke oh em gee my coach purse!!].

Hello there. I'm Missie and I'm 19 years old. I live in Ledyard, Connecticut at the moment and trying to get a job at Foxwoods. I really want to live in Rhode Island as that's my real home.

I love animals and I think I'm going to get in trouble with a neighbor because their cat is ALWAYS on our porch. I've stopped feeding him but he still comes by. sweatdrop Woops.

I'm slowly learning japanese. In fact I'm only beginning to learn the katagana. I need to restart that yet again.

I bought two green books, one on how to save money by going green and one that was partly written by some celebrities. I've been trying to incorporate some of the easier tasks into my life but living in someone else's house puts a damper on what I can do.
