Olivia quirked an eyebrow, with a joint mirthful smirk, before gently nudging Vince. "Well, that's a relief," she eventually mused. "Now I don't have to worry about you all the time." She grew quiet from there, reflecting on their evening, until Vince broke the silence with an apology. She wanted to be upset with him, or at least a tad irritated, but just as quickly that emotion, and desire for it, fizzled out. "Not with you," she promised quietly. "It was hard to enjoy the rest of the evening with my headache is all." Olivia smiled gently once Vince relaxed, her fingers carefully cascading through his brunette strands, and kept doing so long after he'd fallen asleep.
The pinkette looked away from Vince, and in the direction of the door, when Yue returned. "Welcome back," she greeted, careful to keep her voice at a whisper lest she wake the other. Olivia stood to her feet, then walked from the bed to retrieve her shoes. "Oh." She caught on to the implication, and while she'd failed to catch her expression she could just imagine it in her head. "No thank you, I've still got a few things I'd like to take care, and I don't want to keep you up," she explained, slipping into her shoes as she did so. "Have a good night, Yue. I'll see you in the morning." After bidding her adieu, she slipped out of the room and headed down the wall, intent on collecting her pokemon from outside and then a room key.

Vince was relieved that Olivia insisted her headache was what she was angry about, rather than his behavior. Still, he knew that she wasn't particularly happy with his choices either. It was clear though that in spite of her feelings on the matter, she would look past it tonight so that they could get some much needed rest, Vince in particular. Thankfully that wasn't too difficult, since he fell asleep quickly due to the alcohol and Olivia's soothing fingers.
By the time Yue returned, Vince was out like a light, and the gardevoir's tired eyes softened with a smile as she saw Olivia still stroking Vince's hair. Yue almost wished she'd given them a little more time, but Olivia needed to sleep as well. She sheepishly declined to stay longer, insisting she had other matters to attend. “Very well. We'll see you in the morning.” Yue gave a light bow, moving out of the way of the door so Olivia could make her exit.
The next morning, Vince felt a light nudge to his shoulder and grimaced. "No." He grumbled, turning away from the intrusion on his sleep. “You need to get up Vince....” Vince silently disagreed, continuing to curl around his pillow in defiance. "Leave me aloneeee...." He muttered. “The boat to lillycove leaves in an hour, and you need to get up, get dressed, pack, eat breakfast, and walk to the harbor to board the ship. I let you sleep for as long as you could, but Olivia's already up, and you need to be too.” Yue insisted, prodding him again more aggressively. "When did you become my mother?" Vince grumbled, cracking an eye open and glaring back at Yue with contempt, mostly because she was right. “When you told me I could travel with you.” Vince closed his eyes and sighed. "I regret this already." Yue frowned with mock offense, but Vince at least rolled onto his back and opened his eyes to stare at the ceiling. “Regret it over some coffee. Come on, up you go.” Yue ushered. “And speaking of mothers, it is Mother's Day today, so I'd suggest calling yours.” Vince blinked at the information, processing it slowly. "Ah... Damn... I didn't get her anything...." Vince rubbed his head and grimaced. “Call her and tell her something's on it's way, then fix it.” Vince grumbled in agreement, but first he'd have to change out of his tux. He couldn't believe he'd slept in it. Now it was going to be all wrinkled....
Vince grumbled and made his way into the bathroom to undress, shower, and change into his normal attire before folding up his tux and packing it away neatly in his bag with a silent promise to get it dry cleaned later. Though he had a headache from the night before, a shower helped make it more tolerable as he shuffled groggily into the lobby looking for any signs of Olivia. “She's still getting ready. You have other matters to attend.” Yue insisted, gesturing to the large public video call phone booths in the wing of the center. "I thought I told you not to read my thoughts." Vince grumbled. “I didn't. You're just easy to read.” Yue retorted back with a gentle smile that made Vince flush with embarrassment. She knew, didn't she...? "Don't get any bright ideas." Vince insisted flatly. “I'm not meddling.... Much.” Vince rolled his eyes, too tired and groggy to address this issue and why he didn't want her pushing him and Olivia together, so instead he opted to go to the phone booth as Yue insisted.
He punched in the landline number for his family's manor back in Blackthorn, waiting as the screen dialed and rang. "Shuí zài nà'er?!" The face of his grandmother came very closely into view, so much so that Vince could only see her cheek and the rim of her glasses. "Nǐ hǎo Náinái." Vince greeted with a chuckle. "You need to back away from the camera so I can see you." The elderly woman backed away at Vince's instruction. Normally his mother or father handled the calls, so they must have been busy, or grandmother being her usual nosey and inquisitive self just got to the phone faster. "Oh! Xiao~ You finally called. It's about time! Why don't you call more often?!" Vince grimaced at the use of his other name but knew better than to try correcting her. "Bàoqiàn Náinái. I'll try calling more. I've just been very busy, but it's mother's day, so I wanted to wish you and Mā good health and happiness." The woman's face lit up at that. "Ohh! You're such a sweet boy to remember. I'll go get Xiulan~"
Vince sat back in his chair with a light sigh once his grandmother left, rubbing his face. The headache was growing back with a vengeance, it seemed, and the shower had only been a temporary painkiller. Yue was probably right—he needed coffee, or tea preferably. "Vincent?" Vince glanced back to the screen to see that his mother was there now. "You look so tired darling... Is everything alright?" Vince gave his mother the best smile he could manage. "I'm fine Mā. I just woke up not too long ago, so I suppose I am a bit tired still. You worry too much. It's mother's day, you should relax. Are the boys treating you well?" Xiulan smiled, looking more chipper. "Of course~ You know they'd be in trouble if they didn't. Your father and Cheng are handling all the meals while your grandmother and I rest and gossip." She winked, bringing a smile to the groggy dragon tamer's face. "That's good of them. How is Ch--""Heyyy! If it isn't little Vincey~" Jian butt in with a wide smile, hogging the camera as Vince's smile dropped into a scowl. "You're interrupting. Shouldn't you go help Bà and Cheng in the kitchen or something?" Jian pouted in mock offense. "I am helping! I'm the service boy~ I bring everything Náinái and Mā want." Vince nodded in approval. "Good. You better not slack off.""Come on now little dragon, give me some credit!" Vince grumbled at the nickname grumpily. "Don't.""Now come on you two, don't start squabbling now. I forbid it." Jian and Vince both gave a resigned "yes Mā" and Jian backed away from the screen to give the other two women some more screen time.
"Did I hear Vince?" Another woman's voice piped up. "Hana." Vince smiled, spying his brother's fiancée coming into view. "I was just about to ask how you and Cheng were doing before I was so rudely interrupted." Jian rolled his eyes with a mirthless smirk. "Is it rude to want to say hi to you?" Hana chuckled and shook her head. "You two never change. We're doing great though!" Vince nodded. "I know you aren't a mother yet, but I hope you're still an honorary mother for this celebration." Hana gave an ambivalent response. "Cheng keeps insisting that I am, but I don't know. I just can't sit still, plus I think he and your dad could use a hand in the kitchen." Vince chuckled at that. "Probably." He could hear his grandmother tsking in the background. "After all these years you'd think my son would learn a thing or two from me in the kitchen. At least Cheng knows what he's doing." Vince chuckled a bit more. "No one is ever going to cook as well as you Náinái. At least they're trying."
"Oh, was there a party I didn't know about?" The group made some room by Hana so that Cheng could make his entrance and plant a kiss on Hana's cheek. "Cheng. I heard you're busy in the kitchen." Vince remarked with a smile. "Something like that. Did you tell him already?" Cheng looked to Hana curiously. "I wasn't going to tell him without you, silly." Hana chuckled, prodding Cheng accusingly. "Tell me what?" Hana and Cheng grinned at Vince, and the dragon tamer had a feeling he knew already. "Ah. You set the wedding date, didn't you?""Is it that obvious?" Cheng chuckled. "You're both practically glowing. It was either that or a baby." The couple to be both blushed a bit. "There's an idea. When am I getting great grandchildren?" Vince chuckled and grinned apologetically to Hana and Cheng for the pestering that they'd surely receive now. "So, when can I expect an invitation?" Vince joked mildly. "Heh. It'll be a couple months out. I'll mail you all the details.... And you know, if you happen to have someone you'd like to bring...." Cheng shrugged ambiguously. "Got anyone in minnnnd Vince?" Jian waggled his eyebrows accusingly, seeing the look on his brother's face. "Sh-shut up.... Don't look at me with that ridiculous expression." Vince grumbled. "Haha, well the invitation for an and one still stands, just in case you do." Hana insisted kindly.

A short walk later, Trey was reading over some books and contemplating his options. Honestly, there was little reason to stop now. He ought to get a few more, for practice, and to make sure his pokemon didn't get... unruly, but honestly, he wanted to practice with Carona the most, and had no real poffin opportunities to beep it up a bit. He needed to at least do some shopping first... then he could invest himself into a contest, while trying to find some prospects for making better poffins. Honestly, it was best with people, so.... that was his best option, but cooperating.... wasn't a strength of his. He'd been lucky to find Sebastian, but given his text, he didn't think that was much of an option anymore.
Closing his book, Trey looked up at the sky, absently trailing through options, before standing, picking up Shade, and heading for the local mart. At the very least, he could get a few new items.

If he was going to go and make the poffins he wanted to make, he was going to need berries. Particularly good berries, ones that had strong flavors and qualities to boost Carona's beauty for contests. He knew which ones to get, and was able to search the shops to find a few, but he also knew he had some growing, and that making sure he got more for that so that he could stock up between batches. God, he needed so many more berries to make as many poffins as he would end up needing.... And not to mention, that challenge of finding someone to help. Maybe he could ask the desk to see if they had any services to assist with that...?

Fortunately, for Olivia's feet, rounding up her team was a quick process, under Valerian's watchful eye they had only been meandering about the front lawn of the center. After dinner and a bit of exercise, all party members seemed more than eager to turn in for the night, with all but Blue willingly returning to their pokeballs. With him out and about, it meant Licorice had to join him. "Try not to cause too much trouble," Olivia warned, through a barely-covered yawn. She gave Licorice a look, that indicated she'd have to keep an eye on her 'son', before turning back around to return to the Pokecenter's lobby. Between soft yawns and cramping feet, the pinkette managed to grab a room for the night, just a few doors down from Vince's, and with nothing holding her back she eagerly made her way down the hall, and into her room.
Holding the door open just long enough for Licorice and Blue to wander in, Olivia resisted the urge to fall face first into the bed that awaited her; as much as it pained her, there was much to do before she could allow herself to go to bed. She sighed as she slipped out of her shoes, and from her bag she pulled out a change of clothes she could lay down in on her way to the bathroom. After a much needed shower she returned to her room, refreshed, slightly more conscious... and to the sight of Elgyem patiently awaiting her "How..." She opened her mouth, intent on questioning the pokemon's arrival, only to quickly close it when she realized how tired she was, which left her indifferent to the semantics. "Is the keycard in my bag?" she asked instead, sluggishly trudging to her bed and climbing atop of it.
"It is." Observing her every move, Elgyem slowly lowered herself onto the edge of the bed. "We shall debrief your superiors on your situation in the morning. For now, sleep. Little can be accomplished when you're only half-awake." Olivia nodded along to Elgyem's words, for once agreeing with her. With a bit of help from the psychic-type the light switch was turned off, and the pinkette sunk underneath the covers in complete darkness. She closed her eyes, entire body sinking into the mattress as she relaxed, and drifted off into sleep not five minutes later.

Though unaware of how long she'd been asleep, no matter the hours they hadn't been enough. At least, that was what Olivia decided as she unwillingly dragged herself out of bed the next morning. She stood at the side of her bed, waffling between sliding back into the sheets and actually getting ready for the day. In the end the latter won out, though it helped that Elgyem, already awake, was staring at her, waiting to see what she'd do. With such a strong motivator, she found it easier to get dressed and complete her other morning rituals without delay. "Do not forget to call--""I know, I know." Already rifling through her bag for her communicator, Olivia, now fully awake, flopped onto the bed in preparation for making the call.
"Officer Beaumont reporting in." She spoke once she'd been patched through, eyes trained on the miniature lieutenant on her screen. "Last night I attended a gala in Parfum Palace, and came across a member of Team Flare. He was in the midst of talking to a potential investor. I was able to recover a keycard during that time." The stern man nodded slowly, though his expression did not once change. "Excellent work. Where are you now?" Reflexively Olivia looked towards the door; Vince should've been getting up at this point. "Slateport City, Hoenn. I'm lying low for now, and plan on investigating into Team Flare's hideout in a few days." She received another nod, before the man looked off screen, suddenly alert; someone else had entered the room. "Continue investigating, Beaumont. Report back to me once you've found anything else," he spoke quickly, standing up as he did so; his midriff now on screen, she hesitated in nodding back. "Yes sir."
Once the call ended Olivia stood to her feet, one hand already reaching out to grab her bag. Before putting her communicator away she checked the time, only to suck her teeth when she saw just how late it was; they only had an hour before their boat left. "Let's get a move on, guys," she encouraged, indicating for the three pokemon to follow her out of the room. She needed to meet up with Vince -- hopefully he was already out of his room at this point -- and try and grab breakfast with him before they headed down to the docks. Olivia knocked on the male's door, but, upon receiving no response, concluded that he'd already left. That was good, he might already be in the cafeteria.
She stepped into the lobby, intent on returning her room key before venturing any farther, only to stop when she saw no other than Vince -- or, rather, his back; he was absorbed in a video call at the moment. Wanting to give him time to finish, Olivia made the front counter her first stop and returned her key before moving off to the side and wait for Vince to finish his conversation. She rocked on her heels, waiting patiently, and watched Blue and Licorice move about the room; this early in the morning the lobby was empty, giving Blue the courage to move about without fear of running into any pesky humans. He stopped, however, when he saw Vince and tipped his head to the side. While not interested in his activities, he was interested in seeing Xiu Feng, who was apart of Vince's team. He changed directions, making straight for the male, and drew close enough for him to bite down onto his pants' leg -- the best way to get his attention.
That, of course, got Olivia's attention. She pursed her lips in disapproval and made her way over to the two, but not before giving Licorice a look -- she was supposed to prevent these things from happening, and yet she'd only stood back and watched, a crooked grin on her face. "Sorry, I don't mean to interrupt." She offered an apology first, before she crouched down and tried shooing Blue away from Vince's pants. He didn't budge. "...I guess he's developed a taste for clothes now."

Vince blinked as he felt a tug at his pants. "Blue?" The last thing he expected to see was Olivia's lupup pulling at him, and where there was Blue, Olivia was (hopefully) there to follow. Sure enough, the pinkette arrived to try and get the lupup away, apologizing for interrupting. "It's fi--" Vince insisted, only for Jian to quickly cut in. "Well hello there gorgeous~ Vince, why didn't you tell us you had company?" Vince shot Jian a withering look but the persistent man on the other side of the screen only wiggled his eyebrows. "And a woman no less!" Vince looked to his grandmother pleadingly. "Náinái, don't take his side...." He sighed. "Well there's no use in hiding her now that the meowth's out of the bag." Xiulan chuckled almost gleefully. It felt good to see that Vince wasn't traveling alone. "Why don't you introduce us?" Cheng suggested diplomatically to settle everyone down and allow Vince to relax a little with a menial task that didn't come loaded with implications. "Ah... Y-yes..." Vince nodded.
Scooting aside to give the camera to Olivia, Vince was reminded that Blue was still clinging fast to his pants and couldn't help but wonder why. "Everyone, this is Olive. Olive, this is my family.... Well.... Most of them anyways. My mother, Xiulan," the grey haired woman smiled politely at Olive. "You can call me pópo if you'd like." Vince's eyes widened. "Mā!" Xiulan gave a mysterious smile and shrugged, her eyes twinkling mischievously. "It was only a suggestion~" Vince shook his head and continued. "Two of my three brothers, Jian and Cheng--" Jian wiped a fake tear from his eye. "He acknowledged me as a brother!" Vince shot a scowl Jian's way and continued. "That's Hana, Cheng's fiancé, and this is my grandmother, my father's mother, I call her Náinái." Introductions finished for now, Vince bent down to see what was going on with Blue when Yue spoke to him. “He's looking to get you to release Xiu Feng.” She explained. "Ah. So that's what you want? Come on, let go of my leg and I'll let her out." Vince insisted, chuckling as Olivia suggested he'd developed a taste for clothes. "Only if he thinks he can get something out of the person wearing them." Vince joked back.
"Are you having trouble over there?" Hana chuckled. "Something like that. Olive here happens to have a rather stubborn lupup who's bonded with a sableye as it's mother. I've been trying to get Xiu Feng to help him out." A collective murmur of understanding and surprise came from the group on the screen, except for Hana who seemed just confused, but Cheng gently squeezed her shoulder reassuringly, indicating he'd explain later. Vince released Xiu next to Blue, who yipped happily at the sight of her friend. "How is Xiu Feng?" Vince looked down at the lupup and her defiled colors and held back a wince. "Fine, you'll have to excuse her if she won't come greet you. She's romping about with her new friend." Vince said a bit quickly. Really that was more his excuse not to show them her coat.
"Anyways, we need to go catch a boat. It was good to talk to you all." Vince nodded. A chorus of goodbyes echoed from the screen, but as Vince moved to end the call, Cheng stopped him. "Vince?" The young dragon tamer glanced up at Cheng curiously. "Think about our offer." He insisted, and after a moment, Vince nodded reluctantly before hanging up. "Sorry about that. How did you sleep?" He asked, turning to observe Olive with a soft smile. "Ah.... On second thought, maybe we should walk and talk at the same time, grab a quick breakfast and leave. We really do need to catch that boat." He chuckled. It couldn't really be helped that they both slept in far longer than they should have.

The drawled, sarcastic remark immediately elicited a furious response, the younger of the two balling up his fists, and narrowing red eyes at him. Even his face started to change color, and one arm bent, as if tempted to throw a punch. JR only continued the deadpan stare, until Trey looked away, scowling, but maintain a raging silence. He signed a short, heated phrase instead: "Shut up."

Breathing out hard through his nose, Trey looked away, his thoughts instead sweeping away to avoid the temptation to punch the man walking beside him. He still had contest things to address, and they were more immediate, and enjoyable, and less likely to end in things going wrong. Yanking out his communicator and Isis' card, he put in her information and added her as a contact, before sending a message. Maybe she could help, even though part of him flinched at just the idea of engaging in conversation with someone who knew he could talk. And given how much she talked, if anyone even noticed her texting, she might go and explain everything to them like she had with him, and blurt something out.... Hopefully not, though.

JR could see it happening as the contest geek waited for a reply from whoever he'd texted. The slow dissolve back into obsession as he poured over statistics and recipes, writing things out, scratching stuff off, calculating probabilities, qualities, tastes. It was honestly just weird, but whatever. It gave him a chance to focus on his own thing, to check if there was anything else to do nearby. While Trey flickered between books and notebooks, sending messages to his berry person, JR perused his own options for entertainment, Wesley's pokeball firmly ductape'd at his waist. He wanted some time away from the murderous wigglytuff.
Trey quickly snatched up his device when he got a text from a different number, an unknown number, but stared a moment at it after reading. He was... processing. Did... Was she serious? A katana? What the hell...? Well, he supposed contests did attract eccentric folk....

Though intent on removing Blue from Vince's pant leg -- without tearing it in the process -- Olivia still looked up when she was addressed by a voice from the video call. "Hey there!" she greeted with a laugh, and offered a wave at the dark-blue haired male. She looked between the five faces, able to discern that this was Vince's family -- she could see a bit of resemblance -- but waited for Vince to formally introduce them to her, and vice versa; though at the request of the older gentleman. With a nod and another wave, this one directed at the entire group, Olivia took special care to memorize the names and relations of the family members Vince introduced. "It's nice to meet you all!" she spoke once Vince had finished, smile on her face. "Cheng, Hana. Vince mentioned your engagement, congratulations to you two! Vince already has a suit picked out for the wedding, and he looks great in it."
While she gushed over Vince's wedding attire, Blue was steadfast in his attempts to get Xie Feng out, much to the amusement of his mother. Though his grip became lax when Vince and Olivia had been doing their... human things, it instantly tightened when the former drew his attention back to him. The delusional Lupup eyed Yue carefully when she spoke up, interested in her as a pokemon he'd never seen before, but also wary of her intentions. His suspicions were cleared, however, when she aided his mission by communicating with Vince, and after some internal debate he released the man's pant and looked up at the human expectantly. Well?
"At least he's comfortable around you to bite your pants, and not your skin," Olivia murmured thoughtfully, more to herself, but lifted her head back up to the voice call when Hana spoke up. "Oh? I didn't realize all of you were familiar with Lupup." Well, everyone but Hana, it seemed. It made sense. Lupup were part dragon, and Vince being a 'dragon specialist' and all, he had to have gotten it from somewhere. The pink-haired woman turned her head to watch Blue and Xiu Feng begin running around the Pokemon Center, amusement in her eyes even as she checked to make sure they weren't getting in anyone's way. Perhaps she could ask the Belduke's for more information as well, just so that she knew exactly what she was dealing with.
That'd have to wait for another time, however, as soon after Vince started wrapping up his conversation. "Goodbye! It was nice meeting you all!" Olivia called out before Vince ended the call, though not before Cheng made mention of an offer. Although curious, she held back from questioning the other about it, this wasn't any of her business, after all. "I slept well." Olivia answered, following along with Vince's suggestion of walking and talking. She indicated for Blue to follow along as they made their way to the cafeteria, and he did so after coming to the realization that they were going back to the same room where he'd been fed the night before. "What about you? And how's your head this morning? You were pretty out of it last night."
Once they made it to the cafeteria, it was simply a matter of grabbing a tray and then grabbing food. Keeping their time limit in mind, Olivia made sure to only go for food that could be eaten quickly (i.e. cereal topped with strawberries), and ushered her pokemon not to dally with their own breakfast once she'd released them.

Vince blushed mildly as Olivia mentioned the suit they'd gotten for his contest, and consequently the suit he could wear to their wedding. Frankly, he'd forgotten he'd mentioned that. "Did he now?~" Cheng grinned. "How thoughtful~" Hana chirped, looking pleased that he'd prepared. "Ah... W-well we just happened to be shopping, and I realized I didn't own a tux so... I thought it'd be good to get one...." He scratched the back of his head sheepishly. "Just so happened, eh?" Jian questioned, a smug look on his face. The middle brother always took great pleasure in calling out Vince's bluffs. "By the way, that's a good color on you Vince. Red suits you." Vince grumbled lightly, casting a sharp look Jian's way. "Sh-shut up...." He folded his arms stubbornly.
As they managed to identify what Blue needed, Vince chuckled lightly as Olivia suggested Blue at least didn't bite his skin. "Heh. Yeah, well.... I guess I'm just special like that." It wasn't entirely a joke, and as Olivia lightly inquired his family's familiarity with Lupup, Vince caught the eye of Cheng. His inquisitive look said it all, silently asking how much Olivia knew. With a light shake of his head, Vince answered all of Cheng's questions, or at least it gave him all the information he needed to respond to Olivia. "You could say that. We're pretty familiar with all dragon types. Though, really, what Blackthorn family isn't?" Cheng suggested smoothly with a chuckle. Vince remained quiet, his eyes falling to the floor briefly as he bit his tongue.
The conversation came to an end, mostly because the pair needed to eat and head out soon. As Olivia and Vince said their goodbye, the family on the other end of the screen responded in kind with their own chorus of farewells before Vince turned his focus fully onto Olive. "Ah.... Good." Vince smiled lightly. He wasn't entirely sure how well he'd slept yet, but he was certainly glad to hear that the pinkette had slept well at least. "Not sure... Fuzzy, at best." He shook his head and grimaced. "Yeah... Ugh... Don't remind me." He didn't want to think about last night. His head hurt just at the idea, but he had no one to blame but himself. That, and Ducky. If Ducky had just not shown up last night.... He wouldn't be here right now. He would be far gone, and not mentally dealing with or sorting half the things that he was currently.
You don't mean that. It took all of Vince's self-control not to snap an accusatory look at Yue and give away their silent conversation. Now I know you're definitely reading my mind. Get. Out. Vince growled. It's not my fault they're so loud I can't block them out. If you weren't thinking so furiously about this, I could obey your wishes, but you telepath your thoughts so easily--I don't care! GET OUT! Vince grimaced, rubbing his temples. "On second thought, I do have a massive headache." Vince grumbled. "Maybe some food would help." He suggested. They did need to eat after all, and then leave. The sooner, the better.
Vince followed Olivia into the cafe, grabbing some bacon, boiled eggs, and toast before sitting down across the table. "Why don't you make sure the others eat quickly?" Vince suggested curtly to Yue as he released most of his team. It will keep you preoccupied from my loud thoughts. He added snappily in his thoughts. Yue obstinately remained quiet, pretending as if she hadn't heard him with her head held high and haughty. Clearly, she didn't approve of his plans, or his reaction to her interference. Vince resisted the urge to roll his eyes and focused on his meal.

Breathing out hard from the back of his throat, Trey rolled his eyes up, and dropped his communicator down. Seriously. Seriously? Well it was good to get a contact and all, but now he had to find the guy. And talk to him. Or... communicate. Sighing heavily, Trey bowed over, rubbing his temple and closing his eyes. This mute thing... It was still what he wanted, it was still what he preferred, but it was starting to get messy, and complicated. Lifting his head, he looked off to the side, running through his options. They were actually already at the center, having walked back here to sit down so he could work on things while he waited for Isis' reply, but...
Giving a look to JR, the two shared a look, and the older man rolled his eyes and looked away. "What is it now?" he asked, like a parent who knew their child was about to ask for another toy. The younger man grimaced, hating the tone, but started putting his things away. "I need ya ta help me talk wit' someone about berries," he muttered, "I need ta make some poffins and--""Really?" Trey's gaze shot up to glare at JR as he cut him off, looking flustered enough as it was with the request, let alone the man's scathing tone. "You expect me to go through talking about that crap with someone while you flail your hands around and pretend you can't talk? Again? Really?" It wasn't a mocking or condescending look on the man's face, like normal-- it was a look of fierce irritation.
Bristling, Trey leaned back, hesitating a moment in his response. He knew for a fact that JR could easily remove him from being a thorn in his side, if he wanted to. Sometimes, he wondered why he hadn't. But he still had blackmail material, and at the moment, they were in a very public place.
Besides, backing down just wasn't in his nature.
"Listen, I 'hired' you fer one reason, and yer gonna follow through wit' it, alright? If I choose ta talk, it's because I choose to, not 'cause yer off doin' somethin' else or makin' me talk by default, alright?" he hissed back, leaning in and glaring daggers back. Cold blue orbs glowed back at him, before, finally, JR looked away, expression blase. "Fine. Lead the way," he drawled dryly.
A little bit of prepping, and a few more minutes later, Trey lead the way into the cafeteria. If the guy had stayed here, he'd probably be eating here, though whether he was awake or not, Trey wasn't sure. At least, he wasn't until he looked around, and at that point, the answer became pretty clear. Isis' description was on point, and so was her assumption-- the guy stood out, it would have been hard to mistake anyone else for him. Shifting just enough to get a glance from JR, Trey quickly signed the man's name, and then gestured towards him, before walking over. With a roll of his eyes, JR followed, stepping up smoothly, and settling the man with an even look. "Is your name Vince?" he asked casually, pausing a beat, before his gaze swept over, looking to the woman with him, appraising her briefly. Somehow, he had a feeling she was about to be very left out of the conversation. Or, she would, if Trey had anything to say about it-- thankfully, he was the one literally doing the talking.

A few bites into his breakfast and Vince couldn't help noticing that two figures had entered the cafe, one of which was pointing in their direction. His suspicions were aroused, but he remained calm, mentally going through his options as he ate. All of his pokemon were out. If a battle were to break out here, he had the upper hand. Still, it would be nice to know what their intentions were before he jumped to any conclusions. Thankfully he had a psychic type who could do that digging for him. Yue. The gardevoir continued to give him the silent treatment. Yue. Vince growled mentally. Still no reply. He could feel that she was intentionally ignoring him, but they were drawing closer. "Is your name Vince?" The dragon tamer glanced up at the taller of the two. He had sharp and intelligent eyes, and though his tone was casual, he seemed almost.... Annoyed? Irritated? But it wasn't directed at Vince himself it seemed. "Who's asking?" Vince replied evenly, sizing up the other man at his side. This was the one who'd pointed at him. He vaguely recognized the gestures Trey was making.... They were the same sort he'd seen from Lia. If only the girl were here now. Though, it seemed there was a possibility they already had a translator; the sharp-eyed man doing the talking. Xiu Feng perked up. She and Blue had paused from playing to eat a bit, but now that she noticed two humans approaching Vince, she couldn't help but growl lowly, fur standing on end. They intend no harm. Not to worry little one. Yue reassured her. How do you know? They could be tricking you. Humans aren't trustworthy and I'm not going to drop my guard and have Vince get hurt because of it. Yue sighed. At least promise me you won't do anything drastic unless given a reason to do so? Xiu glanced between the two men and Yue before huffing and resting her head on her paws. Fine. But if they do anything sketchy.... She grumbled.

JR raised an eyebrow at the response, looking less than impressed, before glancing to Trey. The younger man didn't quite roll his eyes, but he cast a round glance off to the side and rolled his head with it some, before signing something out. "We are," JR clarified, turning his gaze back to Vince, "Mostly this guy is. His name is Trey, and he was told by an..." He glanced back at Trey again, who signed a name. "... Isis, that you're interested in contests," JR continued, eying the younger man, as if skeptical of the name. "He's a contest nerd and apparently, poffins are better when made in bulk, so, he's wondering if you're interested," he finished evenly, finally returning his gaze to Vince with an almost bored expression.
Meanwhile, Cherish turned his head, looking over from where he sat by Trey's heals. He'd been attentively observing all the little humans and their funny little emotions and reactions, but the sound of a defensive growl quirked his ears in another direction, and his focus was diverted. Standing, the gekkit made a small chittering sound at the pokemon, head tilted curiously to the side. Tail aloft, he made a few cautious and quizzical steps forward, almost as if testing the pokemon's reactivity, without moving fast enough to elicit a full attack.

It was too bad his gardevoir seemed to want to let him suffer uncomfortably for that much longer before letting him find out. In hindsight, he supposed he should have expected that they were indeed here with no ill intent otherwise Yue would have said something. Or at least, that's what he hoped. "My apologies. I didn't realize Isis sent you." Though, admittedly her timing wasn't all that great. They had only 45 minutes to finish eating and catch their boat, but it was hard to resist a perfectly good opportunity to make poffins. "I am very much interested in making poffins, but my..." His eyes slid to Olivia briefly. "...Companion, and I have a boat to catch soon, so this will need to be quick...."
