With a tilt of her head Elgyem scrutinized Vince, her slightly tilted view giving her the appearance of a confused individual. Rather than waste her breath -or more accurate her energy- trying to reason with the male she chose a tactical retreat, though in her return she managed to pique Olivia's interest and the pinkette questioned the topic of their conversation, as she'd been purposefully left out of it. And although Elgyem felt that she'd profusely explained the situation Vince felt the need to contribute as well, something the psychic type took in stride. "She is?" Olivia raised an eyebrow curiously, gaze immediately sweeping over to Elgyem to confirm-- which the pokemon did with a simple, albeit small, nod. "Well.. maybe there is one?" she suggested, turning back to look at her companion. "I really wouldn't know though." That being said... for the sake of Vince's sanity she hoped there wasn't such a variant; she could only begin to imagine the reaction he'd have to that.
Thankfully the two managed to turn to a less... explosive conversation and Olivia smiled, nodding her head triumphantly as Vince conceded to the example she'd given. "Exactly," she grinned. It'd be different in Hoenn, as she'd actually visited the points of interest in the various cities. As kind of an offer as it was, Olivia chose to buy her own ticket rather than have Vince buy both of theirs; it was only fair. "I'll take that into consideration," she chuckled with a grin to accompany, the cleverness of the metaphor not lost to her. The train ride up to Hoenn was a fun one, and while Vince wasn't as excited as she was for the trip she could be content with the fact that he was looking forward to it. Meanwhile Blue, whose attention had immediately turned to Xiu Feng once she'd laid down, took to lounging on the other completely; finding her fur much more comfortable than the carpet.
"Well, perhaps you could use this trip as your intro into photography," Olivia teasingly suggested. She turned on her XTransceiver before pulling up its camera function, fiddling with its features in preparation for what awaited them; one of these days she'd buy herself an actual camera... Olivia turned her communicator off when they arrived in Mauville and helped Pichu back onto her shoulder, then led the way off. Immediately inquiring Vince's opinion she placed both hands on her hips when told to wait, as he did have a point when he said they'd literally only just gotten off the train. "Oh alright," she remarked, the look on her face clear that she had no qualms against waiting. "Open? Alright, yeah I can see that." The pinkette looked around, this time towards a few of the shops, before she nodded. One such place had caught her eye.
With a grin Olivia looped her arm around Vince's and began walking determinedly towards one of the more larger shops, "let's check here for a second." Although aware it was more of a 'tourist trap' Olivia's interest laid solely in a rack of hats located just outside the shop, from baseball caps all the way to toboggans. She still had her arm around Vince's when she stopped and plucked up two large, floppy sunhats and plopped one atop of her head. Laughing from underneath the accessory she beamed before reaching up on her tiptoes to deposit the second onto Vince's head; she needed a bit of assistance however, given their height difference, and received that from Elgyem, who used her psychic ability to carry the hat the last few inches. "The hat looks good on you," she hummed, pushing the brim of her own hat up. "Let's take a picture, yeah? Real quick."

Vince's winced briefly, an expression that recoiled slightly in disgust, as Olivia seemed so casually open to the mere idea that such a monstrosity existed. "If there is, it will not exist for much longer." He grumbled. Olivia was right to be concerned, because if such a variant did exist, Vince would personally seek every last one of those exeggutor out and make sure to destroy the species. Such a thing shouldn't exist; it made his blood boil just thinking about it. Though Vince was being a tad overdramatic in his thoughts, his body otherwise remained in it's characteristic rigidness, his expression stoic with a slight hint of a neutral scowl as if nothing were bothering him more than usual. A lighter conversation topic such as their sense of direction and a long train right helped Vince unwind a little at least, and allowed his thoughts to wander away from the unsettling idea of such a pokemon while their lupup snuggled cutely in a yin yang pile of black and blue.
For instance, Olivia insisted that Vince allow this trip to introduce him to photography. She was teasing of course, but he did consider what it might be like to have photographic memories of his trips. He would certainly be happy to have a few of Olivia.... Her beauty and cheerfulness were certainly picturesque, something worth trying to capture in a photo, or on an artist's canvas. His expression softened at the thought, but then his brows knit in frustration, as he silently reminded himself that he needed to stop having such ridiculous thoughts. After that, he allowed his mind to quiet for the rest of the train ride, observing the scene from their window in peace before they arrived in Mauville. As soon as Vince stepped off the train, Olivia of course wanted to know his opinion of the place immediately, but thankfully allowed him time to consider when he requested it. He did at least admit the city felt a bit more open than Lumiose, which Olivia could agree with. While big cities weren't really of interest to Vince--they all pretty much felt the same to him--he didn't want to rush out knowing Olivia seemed to enjoy it, offering to go shopping or hunting for a good location for a picture, an idea Olivia embraced while she could. Almost as soon as the offer left his lips, Olivia had her arm hooked in Vince's, quickly beelining for one of the larger shops in the area. Vince did his best to match her pace, surprisingly a difficult feat for Vince. It was simply hard to match her boundless energy. "Aha--alright....!" He chuckled, stammering a bit as he tried to regain his footing while she pulled him along, uncertain how to feel about what he'd managed to just get himself into.
Soon Olivia had dragged Vince over to a hat rack, and rather than let him go while she looked around, she made sure he couldn't slink off to wait on the side until she was done, forcing him to participate in her endeavors by dropping a large sunhat on her head and his. Vince blinked in surprise, stunned by once again being pulled out of his comfort zone and into unfamiliar territory, and yet somehow, Olivia made the dive enjoyable. Vince gave the pinkette a curious, but amused look as she insisted the sunhat looked good on him. "You think so...?" He asked with a small, unsure smile. He couldn't really see himself, but he would trust Olivia's judgement. "I am certain that you wear it much better than I." He insisted, adjusting his own hat and removing his jacket. In the warm weather, it was a bit too hot for black leather. When Olivia insisted that they take a picture though, Vince looked uncertain. "Ah... Very well, just give me the camera and you can stand over there by the railing." He suggested, sheepishly avoiding eye contact. He knew very well that she meant that they take a picture together, but Vince instead acted on his camera shy instincts, trying to weasel his way out of the photography in what would likely result in an unsuccessful venture.
At Vince's foreboding words Olivia raised an eyebrow, and even Elgyem gave him a look that brimmed with intrigue. "Everything has a right to exist," she eventually cautioned, patting his shoulder afterwards. She'd definitely be keeping him away from the Exeggutor variant --if it did exist-- and stop mentioning it. As curious as it was, Olivia was able to push the idea of Alola Exeggutor to the side once they piled into the train, and by the time they arrived in the new region it had completely left her thoughts.
"Vince, you and I both know that's now what I meant." Olivia took hold of the other's arm to prevent him from escaping, a playful frown painted across her countenance. "It's just one picture, I promise, and then I'll leave you alone for the rest of the trip." With her free hand she adjusted her sunhat --geez, these things were big-- before she reached into her bag to pull out her wallet. "Elgyem, make sure he doesn't go anywhere. I'm going to buy a camera," she asked, fixing Vince with a 'stay here' look in the process, before she scurried off to make her purchase. Even if she had mentioned using her XTrasnceiver to take her pictures, the pinkette had quickly come to the realization that using a real camera would be far more efficient.
With purchase made Olivia returned to the hat rack, grinning as she held in her hand a disposable camera; a bit overpriced and only good for about a dozen shots, but it'd work just fine for their short trip. The pinkette posed herself directly in front of Vince before angling the camera, positioning it so that it might actually be able to capture Vince's face. "Smile on three~" she sang, eyes bright and smile as wide as possible underneath the brim of her hat. Pichu, feeling rather photogenic herself, wiggled herself within view before comically sticking her tongue out. "One, two, three!" There was a flash and afterwards she dropped her hand, immediately slipping the camera into her bag. "See, that wasn't too bad, was it?" Olivia teased as she pulled her hat off, fixing her hair down afterwards, and put it back on its rack.
"That's all I really wanted to do, so now we can go." Olivia waited until Vince had returned his hat as well before she began moving, this time leaving Vince to walk at his own pace. "We should be heading to Slateport City next," she informed, taking in her role as 'tour guide'. "If you couldn't tell by its name already, it's a port town. But it has a lot to offer, which is why it's one of my favorite cities here." Looking to her side, the young woman smiled up at her companion. "If you're interested, we could visit the lighthouse there. Or the museum, or even the contest hall," she suggested, tone brimming with excitement. This was fun! The fact that she would be visiting the various of towns and cities with someone else only enhanced this.

He certainly didn't want to come off as someone on a murderous rampage, but he wasn't happy about the existence of the idea of such a species of dragon type pokemon either. Thankfully, they soon arrived in Mauvile, where the topic of conversation was easily changed to their new surroundings, particularly when Olivia wanted to take their picture in some sun hats she had found. However, Vince had attempted to use her wording to get out of the picture, offering to take one of her, but that didn't fly with the pinkette as she quickly stopped him with a playful pout. Vince gave a sheepish smile, silently admitting that he'd been caught red handed. "Well I would not want you to leave me alone.... I am just not sure about pictures. I thought you said you wanted them for your family, so I see no sense being included in that matter..." He explained. Not that he wouldn't want to meet or be known by her family, he simply knew that he was not part of it, and was kindly trying to separate himself. "If you would like to include me in your pictures, I suppose I wouldn't object..." He suggested softly, before letting a coy smile cross his lips. "Much." He chuckled.
He still felt a bit awkward about photos in general, though he wasn't sure why, but he stood dutifully in place as Olivia went inside the shop to go buy a disposable camera. Vince had simply assumed she would be using her Xtransceiver, but he didn't really have an opinion on the matter. After all, Olivia was the one taking the pictures. It wasn't long before Olivia returned, grinning with excitement before taking her place in front of him and angling the camera to try and get them both in the shot. Hesitating at first, Vince ducked down slightly, drawing nearer to the pinkette and gently placing his hand on her shoulder, while the other held his hat in place, giving an uncertain smile, but it was the best he could manage given the situation, and he wanted to make Olivia happy. After a flash, the pinkette put the camera away, and Vince straightened, giving a light chuckle as she suggested that taking a picture wasn't too bad. "No, it wasn't." He agreed, lightly squeezing her shoulder before letting go and moving to take his hat off.
As he did, Olivia proclaimed that the quick picture in their sun hats had been all she really wanted to do, so she began leading Vince towards Slateport City, a port town south of Mauvile and one of Olivia's favorite cities, something Vince would have picked up on in the way she described some of the town's main attractions if she hadn't said it outright. He couldn't help but smile at her excitement, watching her push on and brimming with energy. "I see why this town is your favorite. I would be interested in seeing the lighthouse or museum, or both. I am not certain of the contest hall though. What sort of contests does this hall hold?" He asked curiously. "Regardless, I will trust your judgement. You are my tour guide after all." He offered amicably. "And as my tour guide, I am obliged to ask how we will be getting to Fortree from here." Vince asked with a laugh, given their earlier debate on each other's sense of direction.

Oddly, he didn't even send a glance to make sure they were all there... but luckily, Basil was paying attention. The grovyle noticed his apathy, though. Marx had been careless before, sure, and he had a tendency to focus on social matters more than responsibility, but it wasn't like he looked... excited. He looked focused. And, it seemed, he was. His gaze swept over the first message, noticing it was from Rose.

Making his way towards Mauville, with his pokemon trailing behind him, Marx opened up the next message. He winced a little, lifting a hand as a painful throb echoed through his head. He didn't usually get headaches, honestly, but he felt like he'd been getting them more and more often. Or, well... had been getting them more and more often. This was the first one in a little while, but still, it was a lot more than he was used to. Maybe he should call his mom and ask her about it...
On that train of thought, he pulled out his medicine, even though he wasn't feeling especially twitchy or impulsive, and took a small dose, before bringing his attention back to his communicator, muttering something under his breath. His tourettes really seemed to have gotten a lot better over the years, thanks to his mom, and his doctor. His tics would still show up, but he repeated things less, and it had been a while since he really had any strong symptoms of either. He wasn't sure if it was something that could be cured, but... it didn't really bother him much either way.

Basil trailed along behind Marx, watching him warily. Something seemed to be wrong... did his head hurt? The uncertainty about that observation was honestly marred by Basil's own personal irritation. HIs arms were getting tired. And Marx had forgotten to recall everyone, which meant he and Vaporeon still had to keep an eye on Sableye. She'd already tackled him, bit him, and basically threatened him away from wandering off or chasing after this or that, and the ghost pokemon was looking increasingly irritated and annoyed. Basil had a feeling he might lash out pretty soon, if he wasn't recalled, or given his way...
He looked down at the sleeping pokemon in his arms, frowning a bit. He still didn't know if it could illusion sound or not... otherwise he'd try and ask Marx if he could recall everyone, including the zorua. At this point, though, even without knowing, he was sort of getting desperate enough to try anyway....

It was back to the city for the both of them. Though it was a bit more different than the others one. Every city had their own charm, that much was certain, but she wasn’t going to be able to recall each and everyone one of them. If she was going to have any chance in keeping up with that flashy Pokemon then she was going to have to get her butt in gear! The girl was not an athlete and the only sort of physical workout she had was walking around between town and city. Now that she could Fly anywhere she wanted it would definitely cut into her exercise but as she desired to train her Pokemon, it probably wasn’t going to come down to that. Though there was still no competition between her and that quick Pokemon. Maybe if she were to get her hands on it, the Pokemon might pan out.

Now Mauville was a lively place; it was city bustling with life and action and shoppers in many directions. It was a bit hard to find a place to land with how crowded it was and so they group didn’t have much of a choice but to land on the outskirts of the city and walk in. Which wasn’t too much of a problem to be honest, Noel was doing plenty of walking what was more? The Pidgeot hung back and Noel took a moment to return Sherlock so that he could rest. Given the setup of the city, it was probably going to be difficult for him to identify the egg outside of all the various scents that were going on. They’d have to rely on good ol’ looking skills.
