Hi, I have some purification and corruption questions~

1) Senshi purification is very powerful, and in several examples, after a purification, the senshi has fainted/lost their henshin. Knight purification is stated to not be as powerful (since it can only be used on other knights). Is there a tradeoff for this -- is it easier/less draining for a knight to perform a purification? Or is 4th stage knight purification weaker than 4th stage senshi purification with no offset?

2) Compared to a senshi purification, how much energy does a 4th stage Nega (side-change) corruption use up? Are 4th stage Negas also on the brink of collapse after they do something this powerful, or can they corrupt with impunity?

3) Does a forcible Nega (side-change) corruption require more exertion than a willing one? Is a forcible corruption equivalently draining to a willing purification, easier, or harder?

4) Is it easier/less draining for any factions to purify/corrupt people if they do so at their source of power? That is, if a senshi or knight perform a purification at their homeworld, or a Nega performs a corruption in the Rift, or a DMS senshi performs a corruption in Mirrorspace, will they be less wiped out afterward?

Thanks for your help!

1) It would still be very draining for a Royal Knight to perform a purification, however Knights may find that if they call upon the Code for assistance, they will have a little extra energy boost that allows them to perform Knight Purifications with a little more ease. This does not mean that a Royal Knight should be played as suffering no consequences after purifying; it is still a very draining experience!

2) Fourth stage Negas should be winded after a corruption; this expends much of their stored energy, and while they have the ability to replenish it easier than senshi by using some of the Negaverse's stored energy, the actual act of corruption should drain them.

3) A forcible Nega side-swap drains more energy than a willing one! A General King or Queen would almost certainly find themselves feeling more drained after a forced corruption than a Princess would for a willing purification, however a trip to the Rift, some starseeds, or asking for Metallia's blessing may help restore them!

4) Yes! A senshi/Knight purifying at their homeworld/wonder would find it easier to purify, however they would need to expend energy to get to and from this location, and that might leave them feeling tired as well. If a corruption occurs in the Rift, it may feel like it takes less energy due to the stored energy/magical energy within the Rift, and if a corruption occurs in Mirrorspsace then the stored energy flowing through Mirrorspace helps charge the DMS for the corruption.

I have some questions about being in the Rift!

1. What's the long term effects of frequenting in the Rift? Say your character goes into the Rift for six hours every day to train. Does this affect their psyche any? Do youma become attracted to their regular presence?

2. What's the long term effects of being in the Rift? I've seen a bunch of characters use the Rift a refuge, and come out half youma, or have had something else otherwise happen to them. If a Negaverse Agent spends too long in the Rift, what could happen to them?

1) Some youma might become attracted to them or more tolerant, however it would not have any particular affect on the Agent's psyche; training in the Rift is a good place to experience different hardships, but the Rift alone does not offer any benefits or boosts.

2) Only a player can determine how much time is too much time in the Rift for their character; sometimes characters wander in the Rift and lose themselves and merge with a youma they find, however it is not guaranteed that anyone will be forcibly turned into a half youma or youma just for spending time in the Rift. Possible side effects might include an increased influence of Chaos on their psyche, making them more loyal to Metallia, less hesitant to attack, more eager to hurt—but these could be either long term/permanent effects, or temporary effects that wear off after they exit the Rift for a while. Similarly, a character might undergo no changes—this is all dependent on the character and what the player wants for them!

I have a truly obnoxious space travel question/logic puzzle!

Can space jumps be chained, and if so, how?

For example: If Babylon, Oenone, and Hvergelmir were all hanging out in Destiny City, and decided, "let's kick this party into interstellar mode," could they do a series of jumps that went

Destiny City -> Babylon -> Oenone -> Hvergelmir

Going straight from one space location to the next?

And if so, how would they get back to Destiny City at the end? Would the jumps have to be redone in the opposite order (Hvergelmir -> Oenone -> Babylon -> Destiny City), with each person "undoing" their previous jump, or could any one of them take the group directly back to Earth or would the person who made the first jump have to complete the last, regardless of the last location?

Teleporting works from where you are and doesn't have to be from earth. Babylon could take people to his homeworld, and then they could go to Oenone's homeworld, and either Oenone could use his energy to take everyone back, or Babylon could just focus and return home naturally with his own magic and let Oenone return home using his own magic. In short, a series of jumps is fine, and if they want to go back to Destiny City, they just have to focus on going back to earth like they would have if they were on their own wonder.

Also, it's stated that transcendent characters can visit their wonders/planets twice as frequently than non-transcendent characters. For third-stage characters who would normally be able to travel once a week, does it split down into every four days or every three days?

Technically, it is 3.5 days, but as long as you are mindful of when your character is going to their homeworld you could round to either three or four days. Your character should still not be going into space more than twice a week, though, no matter how you are rounding!

School/graduation question:
Could a student who was behind in their final year classes (due to overseas travel/study) feasibly catch up over summer and graduate?

If so, could they go straight on to DCU in the new semester, or would they have to wait?

Would the University or Sovereign Heights accept new students at other times of the year than the normal start of semester? E.g. January?

All of this is possible! If you would like to work out specific details for your plot, please PM the mule, but otherwise all of this sounds good!

Question regarding the new Crown Token system and Rare characters!

Quote:
New Powered Character with Civilian Art (Rare): 15
New Guardian Cat*: 40

Before the crown token system, the impression of "rare" characters I've gotten was chibis and corrupted-at-start senshi.

Whether that was accurate or not may be beside the actual question - with the two new halloween premades being released of the chaos variety ( a half-youma-at-start, and a full youma at start ), is it going to be available to players to purchase these two types as rare characters at 15 tokens and/or/etc 40 tokens ? Many of the canon (shop purpose "full") Youma were humanoid, and so could still utilize the existing templates.

Youma and Half youma are not currently obtainable as rare characters through Crown Tokens, however if this changes we will announce such, sorry! Players are still permitted to post quests for Youma and Half Youma characters, however they cannot be bought with Crown Tokens or won in customs. There may be events where you have an opportunity to acquire one, but for the purpose of Crown Tokens, Rare Powered characters currently only include Corrupted Senshi. Chibi Senshi count as Regular Characters and may be purchased for the same price as other non-rare characters!

Thank you for the response to my previous question! I have another one, unrelated --

Hvergelmir Squire doesn't have a senshi cellphone. Although she knows the senshi primer exists, she can't access it, so she'd like to read it off of the phone of a senshi buddy. What are her options here?

1) According to the info thread, senshi cellphones can only be accessed when powered up. If Sailor Thraen hands his cell phone to Hvergelmir Squire, can she scroll through the screens on her own?

2) If not, can she scroll through the screens if she's wearing Sailor Thraen's glove on her hand? Or will Thraen have to manually scroll through each screen for her when she's ready for a "page turn"?

3) Or, with the knight signet ring upgrades, is it possible for Sailor Thraen to forward the entire primer to her in an extremely long text message?

Thanks as usual for your help!

1) Yes, if he provides her with his cell phone it would permit her to look through it! It might lock if someone was trying to access it without his permission, but if he wanted to share the information with her by allowing her to view it on his phone, this would be fine!

2) This would not be necessary

3) Thraen could forward the entire primer to her through a text message! She would not receive any updates to the primer but would have a magical copy of it as it was written when he texted her!

Assuming there's a cat or something around to suppress the youma's aura, and of course not in a public place since that could compromise identities, could a Negaverse officer have their personal youma hang out with them while they're powered down?

This is possible, however a PM to the mule is recommended to discuss details as this will need to be handled on a case by case basis!

My question is sphere-related - are phobia spheres viable if they're handled carefully? I imagine even if so it might be a case by case basis, but say a fear of drowning wouldn't be the same as actually drowning, given it's more a fear of the thing possibly happening than the thing itself. Or for instance hydrophobia, fear of water, is a separate thing from water itself.

I guess what I'm asking is are those sorts of things possible as spheres, or would they be among the locked due to potential problems?

As long as this is handled respectfully and the sphere only focuses on a specific type of fear, this should be acceptable! A moderator will be able to help you a bit more hands-on with this in your profile, but when writing attacks, as long as the senshi magic is specific to the sphere (and not all phobias/fears), this would be fine!

Through shop history there are names/quests that are marked with [RL Slot] or raffle wins, etc. that dot the years in the applications thread. Some of these have their art in them, others its unclear if the art was ever produced on or offsite.

Some of them are on the shop masterlist, others are not. In some cases, maybe the slot was passed on to some other character/player to use, though that isn't demarcated just in the quests themselves. Some of them the name that they had chosen has gone on to be accepted to another character - which brings up the point of clarification.

For these slotted characters, old or not, is it true that once a slot is 'gotten' that the name is no longer questable by someone else? Or is it only if the art is produced? Or is it only if the application is moved to the accepted quests? Basically, at what point is a wonder/space object/mineral name reserved?

Some of this may have been people making arrangements off-site or behind the scenes in asking if they could take the name, but it would still be nice to have an official ruling for those who cannot see or know the behind the scenes conversations and may want to quest a name that was 'gotten' in a slot but never completed through the character making process.

Examples:
RL slot gotten, but the name went on to be used by a different character -
L ~Chan's [RL SLOT] Sailor Pandora, Senshi of Isolation vs. the 3 years later Kaelyndra's [Senshi] Sailor Pandora // Liberty Marie Reever

other 'gotten' names/art (there's a bunch more) -
[Q]Lt. Braunite [Crits, pls!][RL Slot]
[RAFFLE] Lt. Bronzite/William Holtzmann (setting up)
[Raffle] Lieutenant Arsenolite (U/C)
{Q} Sailor Vela, Senshi of Hypnosis [RLSLOT] Crit/Mark!

EDIT:
Chatting around a bit, supposedly there was a bunch of RL Slots that were cancelled before production for various reasons earlier in shop history, so some of these applications forum quests may be graveyards from that period. But the question about when an official 'reservation' of name occurs still applies!

The reservation of the name typically occurs when a character is won in customs, however this is easier to determine when a character is rolled by a shop artist rather than when they are slated to receive custom art from Natsu. In the case of art won prior to 2012 it can be difficult to determine who commissioned Natsu as most of these commissions were done in private venues. We do not presently have a manner in which characters can be won in any way other than in an at least semi-public manner in the guild (the most private manner of which being quest fairies/credits/etc but which are still visible to other staff members). So, a name is claimed at the exact time the character is considered acquired--the moment they are either purchased through Tokens/Credits, the moment the player is contacted with a quest fairy, the moment they are rolled in customs. If there are ever unique/rl slots or anything open again, we will request a list of names so they can be published publicly so that all players can see when a name is won. Otherwise, if questing, it would be fair to say that names from over three years ago and without a journal/mention on the masterlist or any art should be questable again.

Since Mercury was all about technology, especially in the past, could an ancestor/past life have a Mercurian magitech prosthetic? If yes, even if they were not Mercury Knights, or even Knights at all?

This is a neat idea and is something that could be possible! If you are interested in doing more than just a fairly average prosthetic (say, one without laser blasters!) then this would be fine, however if you had some ideas about ramping up the power, we would ask for a brief PM just to make sure it is within the power guidelines/approvable for past life!

Is there an option to just get a new character with crown tokens? Like, no civ art, but a powered form?

Not at present, sorry! You must either first buy the civilian and pay for an upgrade later or buy the civilian and powered upgrade at the same time.

Could an energy-giving transcended be able to slow the fading of a starseed once it's pulled out of a body by feeding it energy like they can a normal person?

This is a great question! An energy giving transcended should definitely be able to slow the fading of a pulled starseed, however this energy would not be a full substitute for the starseed's host. It could help keep it alive, though for how long is dependent on how much energy the transcendent can give as well as how receptive the starseed is, how damaged the starseed may be, and how long it has been out of the host.

Just a doublecheck thingie: can someone who doesn't own a character here play a disposable and earn Crown Tokens that way?

Yep! They may play a disposable youma, or a disposable first stage character (with a made up name and no sphere mentioned if it is a senshi!). If a disposable first stage character is planned to be part of an arc or multiple RPs, a plot PM will need to be sent in so we can review it, however if you play a different disposable in each RP/ if the disposable dies at the end of a roleplay, no PM is necessary! The only thing about powered disposables is that they must be used in a roleplay that already has at least two acquired characters involved (a three way RP/three different players involved) so as to abide by the disposable rules.

Just wondering, is it possible to purchase crown tokens from another player?
If it is, what types of currency (ex: gaia gold, art, rlc) can be used to buy the tokens?

Not really; Crown Tokens are a reward to players for meeting certain standards of activity, however what players choose to do with them afterwards is up to them. Sharing credits to help a friend buy something is permitted, but Crown Tokens were not designed to be treated as a form of currency. If a player wants to exchange goods of another variety for Crown Tokens it should not be done in any public venue. The shop will not be setting a price equivalent for Crown Tokens nor will there ever be a shop occasion where they are sold to players.
