Danny was on the offense now, looking for openings once more instead of constantly glancing back at the edge. Now she could put her full attentions on the dummy- it was her turn to do some damage!
She didn't really do much though. A scratch here, a parry there. Overall, she was holding her ground. It was still an improvement from being pushed over the edge- she really didn't want to become a laughing stock. They were exchanging blows back and forth, neither really gaining ground on the other.
It was a standstill, saving for a small hit to the dummy's leg performed by Danny. She was growing used to the sword in her hands, in small increments. Her instructor Tobias would have been proud! He was a seedy old man who never thought anything was good enough. He was likeable, but when he was instructing you it felt like you were trapped in a box of rookie skills. Danny had nagged him to learn the more useful techniques, but her parents had kept her on a strict ceremonial-moves only schedule. She could hear him tutting her now for having a leg bent too far out or having her arm stretched the wrong way.
In all seriousness, Danny was never very good with the sword. She knew the moves, but had no emotion for it. It wasn't like watching Roch play his guitar every day, or watching Rikki practice with his chains in the gym. She just didn't like utilizing other instruments when she could burn it all down with her fists. Perhaps this was what Cybele meant by being trapped by their FEAR. She needed to learn new things too.

Danny took yet another side back, and both she and the mannequin paused. They were at a standstill for a moment, both focusing and looking for an opening. Danny was panting lightly from the effort, but it was nothing she couldn't handle.
However, Danny was more easily distracted than the dummy. Her eyes caught Rikki's black and orange eyes, and her guard dropped. She let out a cheer and shouted, "C'mon Rikki you can do it!" She waved and laughed, turning back to her own dummy.
It was too late. The dummy had seized the opportunity and was lunging at her, completely smacking her across the chest with its sword. She fell to the ground, sword clattering beside her in a completely dramatic way. "Hey!" she said sitting up. The dummy was playing dirty! Well she'd just have to return it, wouldn't she...

YOU HAVE MY BOW!
The mannequin was on the move again, but luckily the black dog was ready. Though really, he expected this thing to move more quickly like it had in the forest the other day. Instead it was only shuffling forward at a slow pace. Which, he supposed he should be thankful for. After all, if it were like the other day, he'd probably have lost to it before he could even draw the second arrow.
"That's right. Just move slowly..." He murmured as he took aim.
Even if the mannequin was moving at a slow pace, just knowing that it could get here, before he could take it out was nerve wracking. He didn't want to lose. Not to something that was deemed for little kids and certainly not in front of the rest of his classmates.
Feeling the pressure, the black dog tensed a little, before he let the arrow fly from the bow. A mistake on his behalf. Because he hadn't kept a calm mind and instead let his nerves get the batter of him, the arrow glanced off the mannequin, without causing any harm to it. It did however, have enough force behind it to knock it back a few more feet. Which, he couldn't really explain how that worked, but he wasn't going to complain about it either.
