XDD Yeah I know, I can pretty much see all the faults in all my art, so nothing anyone points out is ever really new to me. Some of my art gets abandoned because I can't be bothered to fix all the faults I can see XDD
I always felt like it was the way people say things in that forum that scared me. Like back when I used to lurk there criticism was rarely ever constructive and a lot of the wording was very troll-ish. I also found that back when, if your art was even vaguely anime/manga style they would auto hate/flame you. My opinions could be out-dated though it's been a long time since I've been to that forum. Also by the looks of everyone else's threads the comments haven't been too bad.

this is what bothers me about people commenting on my art. sad i always think people around art critique/discussion are too much like "STOP DRAWING ANYTHING LIKE ANIME/MANGA STYLE, DRAW SOME REAL ART". it bothers me because i've been to college and done "proper" art but i draw sort-of-anime/manga-style-if-you-think-my-art-is-like-that-i-guess just for fun in my free time. but then i guess i don't really want serious critique on my non-serious work anyway. i don't really want critique on my serious work either from random people on the internet
Yeah that bugs me too, just because something isn't in your style preference doesn't mean it's any less of a "real art" or of lesser value. The art world would be a very boring place if everyone drew exactly the same way...

I don't think it's too out of date XD;; I know what you mean and I've experienced it... twice. Then again, I've only posted there like three or five times? I do not like what some people have to say. I especially hate those who can't do any better, but is criticizing like it's putting two lego pieces together-- it's those attitudes that I can't stand.
Also, I draw to make art, I don't really desire nor need the opinion of other people. If I want to improve, I'll do it on my own time and at my own pace. I don't mind if it's little things like "oh, I think she should hold onto the chain instead of having it in mid-air like it's suspend in magic or something" but once they go into how the tail might not curl in that way due to the nature of a snake's posture or how the body and the snake part connecting shouldn't be like that.... or the fabric of the hood.................. <_<;; I dunno.... now I'm just rant-venting...
Generally, I just dislike people hating on the anime/manga style and they can't even produce something that looks like human-- but then again, that was really back in the days like 2005 or 2006 xD;; Times have changed, and still no one has posted in my thread.
This is what I was able to work on last night before bed. I'm exhausted from a chaotic day from work, I just came home, only to barely eat, and now I'm leaving to attend a committee meeting for the upcoming local anime convention. Once I get home, I'll try to work more on this, but it's likely I won't be home until after 9, which is the day switch and deadline for themes. So, a work in progress for you, maybe until day 60.
I hate Tuesdays and it looks like Dragon is now annoyed with kangaroos as well.
I decided to look at it as a theme, and less of the place itself as a whole. So no map this time. Since Southern France is a part of the Mediterranean, I saw these and thought they were lovely. Therefore, for the first time, I went with a photo. biggrin
My mother has a passion for Fleur-de-lis, so it had to be included. xD
