It was DIardith who noted it first, with the first skittering by his nose as his rider prepared to go out and try to see if the fish would bite. But it wasn't until the third crawled on by that he noted to Zexear, and there was more than enough to convince him to grab a bucket and scoop them up. Oh, fried and baked spiderclaws? Delicious.
You did great! Either you took some training in the Seacraft or you're just a natural! Regardless, you manage to haul in a net full of nothing but delicious silverfish. The delicacy will make some good eating! Yum, yum yum. +10 points
Seuafaith was helping today - he helped every day, of course, but he loomed over T'shim as the young man tended to his net and kept the run from burning the pale man's flesh at the very least. While the bronze was often a headache that T'shim questioned his destiny in, he was thankful for his dragon keeping put without having to be forced into it that day.
And he did, truly, love the daft beast.
"Alright, Seuafaith. Haul this back for me," he instructed as he, along with some help, worked to tie the nets up to his dragon's side so he could walk their haul back. It was at least going to make a decent meal that night.
Well that didn't go as planned. You thought you were pulling in a whopper, but instead all it turns out to be is an ancient, slimey, and very unsalvageable boot tangled up with some driftwood. There's nothing edible about this--not even any shelled seagrubs. To top it off, any fishing you do the rest of the day will either result in no bites or catches. -15 points
Josen had done well enough the week previously, but perhaps this week was karma for all of the laughing and taunting he'd done at Serrekhar's expense. He'd caught nothing really worth the time or fishing line it had taken and well....

Yellowstripe and Whitefish over here! Those'll sure be tasty with some citrus, over rice, or in a lovely stew.
If L'rua had been honest with any who asked, he was more nervous to resume fishing than facing threadfall. After his miserable fall into the water, and a lot of piercings from hooks that were still healing, he would have been happy to be taken off fishing duty. But Western needed all hands busy, so he would do his part.
But his net suddenly giving a harsh tug and almost pulling him in once more, even from the dock, had Invenirth's teeth in the back of his jacket and helping to pull the haul out of the water. The massive flails of yellowstripe and whitefish were almost music to his ears, and the man laughed softly at his luck.
As you begin to reel in the net or line, you are overpowered by a strong wave, and your catch is set free. Shardit! That had been a good haul, too! Nonriders or riders without XP points, take -5 points.
He was far too used to having a crew to help at his back and Amahno, while capable at the task of fishing, didn't have the strength or reach to save the net as it was stolen by the waves.

Vetica had done hard work in her life - it showed all over her body in the life of a rider. So when the ocean had threatened to take from her, both the woman and her dragon grabbed hold to yank it back in. Packtails would be decent eating, at least. A good show for a day.
You don't know exactly what happened, but somehow you have wound up tangled up in a fishing net, out in the middle of the ocean. You thrash around and try hard to free yourself, but all you wind up doing is breathing in the salt-water. Thankfully, you're fished out by your fellows, untangled from the net, and dragged back to shore. Outside of being a little traumatized, roll a D4 to see what the results of your poor fishing happened to be!

You are feeling miserable. Your nose stings, you're nauseous from drinking up so much salt water, and you're a bit cut up from the hooks. To make it worse, you've lost the net in its entirety, and now need to go to the infirmary to get the hooks removed and ensure they don't get infected. Blargh. What a day. [-15 points]
Syas had been minding his brother, knowing fully well that Unnie would never have let him hear the end of it if Papys had been released to fish on his own and ended up killing himself. Not that the threat of a sister's anger would have been needed.
As if by the design of everything their brother was, Papys had caught his foot in the net they'd been using and ended up tossing himself off of Detlath along with it. While both blue and rider had been able to fish the young man out in fairly quick fashion, though somewhat worse for wear.
Syas wouldn't waste much time in getting him off to the infirmary to be patched up. Maybe...it'd be better to not let Papys into the water again.

Li'tt was clearly not a fisherman. He'd spent too much time with things that were quite pointedly not meant to swim and that he attracted something completely inedible was sort of...par for the course.

A dragon (your dragon maybe?) becomes a floating platform. He or she takes you (and his or her rider if it's not yours) a little bit further from shore. They must have been lucky because you wind up catching quite a haul! Some yellowgills, redfins, and a rare green shellback are all brought in to be salted, boiled, smoked, and dried. Tasty! +10 points
If you are a rider, take your two highest stats. Whatever the total is, add those to the points you earn! Agility (7) + Instinct (6) = +13 Points
Cloveth was feeling strong enough, and with the weather clear, spending the morning out on the water together trying to fish was perfectly fine for Amiari. But her beautiful green was giving her all the luck, as the net bag was being quickly filled with yellowgills and redfins. But when she struggled to bring up the green shellback, it was time to call it and bring in their catches. Certainly a good day.

With the experienced toss of someone raised in the Seacraft (even though he was never formally trained or ranked), Z'haq flung his net once more out into the ocean. Eorawth, who was playing fishing platform for HIs, rumbled thoughtfully. So what do you think you'll catch this time?
"Something tasty, I hope," Z'haq replied as he began hauling in the heavy net. "Feels like a big something, at least, or maybe a lot of something..."
He heaved the net out of the water to see he had caught what looked like an entire school of silverfish. Z'haq whooped -- they were good eating! He was happy he was doing his part to fill Western Weyr's larder with the bounty of the sea.

Though she's gained muscle tone since impressing Kiadrath and weyrling lessons had worked her hard for months, whatever monster fish on the other end of Keris' line proved to be too strong. Kiadrath tried to brace Keris, but the gangly weyrling was pulled over with her as the fish managed to slip free, and sent the pair tumbling into the surf.

Kiri of green Felisath Fishing might not have been her favorite thing to do, but the young woman was Tillek-bred, born and raised. Fishing was something that was almost second nature to anyone from that territory, and though it wasn't her passion, it certainly came in handy! With Pawprint, Clouder, and Felidae happily darting about above her, Kiri was more than happy to pull in a net full of delicate silverfish.
