Jay gave a hum of agreement before following along with Sebastian. "Mm... burrito sounds perty good, though..." he remarked with a bit of a smirk, "Sammich is fine too, though. Well made rueben would prolly be jus' 'bout as satisfyin'." He lifted his head, breathing through his nose, probably catching smells of local food places. "Ahm sure we can get some pok'food somewhere ta go. Can't be too hard, considerin'," he agreed, placing his hands in his pockets. He tilted his head a bit at the question.
"Mmmhhhmm...." he confirmed. He was quiet a moment, either thinking, or... reflecting on Sebastian's question. Totally not judging. "Ice 'n rock, ah think. Don'... believe there's anythin' else," he commented after a moment, "Yew got pokes with them sorts of moves?"

Sebastian chuckled, an eyebrow quirking as he glanced over at Jay. "A burrito? Really? I don’t know Jay, that’s kind of a mess don’t you think?" He remarked with slight amusement. "It’s been a while since I had a burrito though… that might be better than a sandwich." He paused and thought about the pokefood situation as well. "Yeah, we probably could. Or maybe it’d be cheaper to make it ourselves?" He frowned a bit. "You know much about cooking?"
As the conversation turned to the next gym match, Sebastian listened quietly a moment. So ice and rock as well? Well that made him feel a little more confident about his challenge. Dice had Blizzard after all and Roulette knew a rock move he believed. They were fairly strong too, though Roulette could probably use a little more training. Something to keep in mind.
"Mhm, I do actually. I’ve got a couple of pokemon with a move or two like that. Though I guess it’ll depend more on the pokemon too." Because he’d run into enough pokemon where type advantage wasn’t nearly enough. "I take it you don’t have to worry though. I’m sure you’re all set." Sebastian inquired, still keeping an eye out. He noted a food stall off a little ways near a selection of stores, reaching a hand up and gently patting Jay on the shoulder to indicate he pause. "There’s a stall over there that looks pretty decent. You want to give it a try?"

Jay chuckled a bit. "Yeah uh burrito," he replied, amused at Sebastian's reaction, "'N ah dunno, they ain't that messy. Not unless yew fill 'em up too much 'n just squeeze errythin' outta them." He continued walking, but quirked an eyebrow when Sebastian mentioned making their own food, and asked if he knew about cooking. "Well yeah, sorta. Ahm uh decent cook. Yew got uh kitchen ta cook in, though?" he replied, a curious smirk adding to his expression. Cooking was always a little... odd. People tended to think he couldn't do it, but so long as no one was moving things around on him, he could usually cook just fine. He could smell the ingredients, feel the instruments, know where the heat was to avoid burning himself.... he even had the upper hand of a heightened sense of smell, so he could easily decipher if a dish needed more of something, or if it was missing anything.
"Mm, well, least ya got uh good startin' point. Sure if'n ya train up uh bit ye'll be fine," he reassured him. He smiled a bit at Sebastian's certainty. "Dunno 'bout that, but ah ain't worried. Ah got Quena, Koda, Mahmy, Heracross, 'n Mary Lee, if ah need 'em. Think they all got moves that'll do some damage," he remarked. He lifted his head as Sebastian mentioned that he found something, then shrugged a little. "Sure, lead thuh way," he agreed. He could smell a couple places, honestly, but he wasn't sure which one Sebastian was referring to...

"Mmm… I guess." Sebastian remarked, though his tone suggested that he wasn’t entirely in agreement with that statement. "I mean I suppose if you use a thick enough tortilla to put it together it shouldn’t make a mess… though most I’ve ever had were a mess to some degree or another." Or maybe he just didn’t know how to eat a burrito. Not that Sebastian was a terrible at eating or anything, but burritos were just… usually a mess in his experience. At the mention of cooking he smirked a little, eyebrow quirking as he glanced at Jay.
"I’ve got cooking… supplies. You could pretend you were in a kitchen with them." Sebastian remarked. Which was true; he had the supplies to cook on the go for his adventure, though that was hardly a replacement for a full blown kitchen. "You cook though? That’s pretty neat… do you have a specialty?" He asked curiously. It was kind of interesting to consider the thought of Jay cooking and had to wonder if maybe he had a preferred food to make.
"Well you sound like you have more than enough of a team to take the next gym." Sebastian remarked, smiling a little bit. From what he’d seen, Jay’s pokemon were pretty strong, he didn’t think he’d have much trouble. But that was just Sebastian thinking; he really needed to focus on powering up his own team so that he could actually get past the gym. For now though, the conversation took a backseat as they headed for the food stall Sebastian had mentioned. The man gave a nod and took the lead, guiding the way until they were standing in front of it. He took a moment to eye the selections, a gentleman behind a grill crafting some strange concoctions that looked like sandwiches but sort of varied in their appearances.
"Hm…," Sebastian remarked, thinking about what was offered. It was a jumble of crazy names so it was rather hard to guess what they were. "I think… these are burgers or… sandwiches or… something." He queried, head tilting some. "Smells like it anyways…. I think. I hope."

Jay chuckled. He could practically already feel the conversation coming on. The conversation that, like all their conversations, would spiral into just the strangest, specific discussion. Of tortillas and filling and ways to eat a burrito. Usually he'd immediately engage in it, but at the moment, he could also feel they had other things at hand. He also wasn't really sure Sebastian was fully up for that kind of thorough debate. "Heh, well, ah'd say it's possible, but it sure ain't easy keepin' them neat. S'uh particular skill ta it, ah s'pose," he conceded. Oh, he had plenty more to say. Plenty more to say about burritos. But, again... Now was perhaps not the time.
Jay couldn't help but quirk an eyebrow as he heard Sebastian admit he actually had some cooking equipment on him. "Ain't that sorta heavy 'n hard to carry?" he asked curiously. He couldn't imagine hauling all that stuff around, especially if he wasn't using it regularly. He paused a bit, then chuckled. "But, hell, yeah ah'd be willin' ta try cookin'. Ah'll have ta get used ta thuh equipment, though. Had uh while ta learn thuh stuff ah was usin' at home 'n such. S'different usin' new stuff," he admitted. He was pretty dependent on familiarity, honestly, so he was sooomewhat nervous at the idea of trying to cook out of his element, but that didn't mean he wouldn't be willing to try, especially if Sebastian was patient. "Heh, ain't that special.... 'N no, not really," he remarked. He paused, though, thinking, then added, "Akshully, s'pose mah sister said ah make really good fried rice." Probably one of those things where a good sense of smell came in handy.
"Prolly..." Jay admitted absently. He was fairly sure his pokemon were okay, but it wouldn't hurt to be over prepared. Still, he'd let Sebastian do most of the training. FOr the moment, the focus shifted to food, and as they came to a stop he inhaled, smirking a bit at the aromas. They smelled good. "Ah can't really tell the menu. Mind jus' orderin' me anythin' with chicken? If'n there's somethin' with veggies ah'll take that, otherwise ah ain't feelin' too picky," he requested. He didn't really feel like having the menu read to him and trying to pick from that, either, honestly....

Sebastian mused over the idea of burritos and the best way to keep them as neat creations that didn’t spill all over the place. He was sure that Jay was pulling his leg on this one; he had never encountered a burrito that wasn’t a mess; not unless they were half full. And those weren’t burritos, those were rip-offs. He could tell by the conceding tone though that at the moment, it wasn’t quite a conversation Jay wanted to continue discussing. Which he could understand; he was hungry and talking about food would just make it worse. But he’d remember for later.
When Jay seemed surprised that Sebastian was in possession of cooking materials, the man chuckled. "A little bit, but it’s meant for like travel. And it’s not a lot… just kind of this special camper’s cooking kit that my mother got me for my adventure." He remarked. He certainly wasn’t carting around pots and pans and a full pantry of food; certain things he’d have to buy as he needed them. But he had a little burner to do some cooking, a basic small pot for mixing things together and … utensils. To stir and all that good stuff. He carried a lot of junk, so what was the harm in having this stuff as well? He did smile though at the enthusiasm. "Well great, if you ever want a chance I’ll set it up!" It’d be interesting to watch how the cowboy figured out the tools and went about preparing a dish. Hopefully, nothing would burn down.
"Oh? Mm… fried rice is good. A nice staple too." He remarked, stomach rumbling again in response. He was really feeling that hunger now which was serving as a good distraction. As they looked over the options on the menu, Sebastian quirked an eyebrow. "Sure, not a problem." He didn’t mind placing an order for his friend and was rather thankful Jay had given him some options to look at. Eventually he figured out what he was willing to try and eat (it seemed like a stuffed calzone thing) ordering his and Jay’s before stepping off to wait a bit. He shuffled through his thoughts, trying to figure out who to train and how and how long it might take and all that important information before their orders were finally up, retrieving them both.
"Here you go Jay." Sebastian remarked, as h gently tapped against the cowboy’s arm to indicate he take what was being offered to him; a similar looking stuffed calzone thing with chicken and veggies and other sauce stuff. Once Jay had his food, Sebastian went about working on his own, rather enjoying it. It might’ve looked weird but it tasted great.
"Mmm…," Sebastian murmured, swallowing the bite he had going. "Did you want to get moving then? I guess that gave is probably on the outskirts or something…," This food was about as “eat as you go” as it came, but you know.. it was always good to ask just in case.

Jacque gave a slight thoughtful hum as Sebastian explained. "Well, ah don' mind tryin', next time we're out in thuh wilds 'n hungry," he offered with a smile, "That way even if ah mess up, s'better 'n nothin'." He was, of course, joking. "But, really, ah wouldn' mind, ah just dunno how well ah'll do if ah ain't used ta thuh equipment 'n such. Wouldn' mind checkin' it out, though, so ah can at least figger out whether ah can use it 'r not." Maybe while they were in the cave he could do that; check out what Sebastian had, see what he might be able to do. It would give him a chance to plan and maybe do some shopping in the next city, once they got there. He'd mention that once they got to the actual cave, though.
Jay chuckled a bit. "S'pose so. T'ain't too hard ta experiment with, neither, once ya get thuh hang've thuh basics 'n such," he remarked. It was kind of a good... 'left over' dish, too. Toss things you had and needed to use into it, add the right seasoning, etc. That, and curry, which he was also okay at, but hadn't made very often. It tended to take a lot more work, though, especially with the sauce and everything if you were making it from scratch. Speaking of food, he hung back a bit whiel Sebastian ordered for them, standing to the side, and lifting his head when, after a bit, his friend tapped his arm. He lifted a hand, holding it out for the food, and smiling a bit as he received it. "Thanks Sebs. Lemme know how much ah owe ya, ah can pay yew back on thuh way ta thuh cave," he remarked, taking a bite of his food, "'R ah can jus' buy thuh next meal fer us."
Mouth full, he gave a hum of confirmation to Sebastian's suggestion, and once he swallowed, added, "Lead thuh way." He was pretty happy with his food, and he was ready to head out. He didn't mind walking while eating, either.

Sebastian chuckled and smiled. "Great! I look forward to it." He replied. "I’m sure you can figure it out; it’s not all that hard or anything." At least he didn’t think so. Of course, he wasn’t blind so did he really have any business suggesting such? Then again Jay did a lot of other things that you wouldn’t have expected of a blind man so… maybe? Who knew. "Just let me know and I’ll get it all set up for you to try."
"Hm… that makes sense." Rice was pretty versatile and all… made sense that it could be experimented with; honestly all in all it sounded like good eats and a good time. He took another bite of his own food as they started moving, eyebrow quirking as Jay mentioned payback. "Dun morreh abow wit." He replied through a bite, blinking and noting his rudeness before swallowing and wiping his mouth. "Sorry, I meant don’t worry about it." He smiled. "You just owe me a meal." With all the talk of cooking well, why not?
Sebastian nodded as Jay confirmed with the idea, starting to move his way towards the route exit that the signs about seemed indicate led to the cave, still munching his own food as he did. It wasn’t particularly long before the mouth of the cave mouth came into view. "Mmm… cwave’s wup awead." Sebastian remarked, once more forgetting to swallow the bite in his mouth. He really needed to not do that. He swallowed again, coughing and clearing his throat. "Sorry. We’re at the cave now." Sebastian paused and reached back to pull out Spade and Blackjack’s pokeballs. He didn’t know if it’d be dark but he wasn’t going to chance it. He let the pair out to guide, putting the balls away again as they continued forward and in.

Afterwards, with a soft sigh, Huey began to rearrange his team once more, pushing forward the pokemon he knew needed more training.

With that complete Huey began humming as he walked out of the Pokémon Center, and went right next door to the Pokémon Market; it was quite convenient that the two stores were so close to each other. Though he still wasn't the best when it came to shopping to himself, at least clothes-wise, when it came to picking out trainer items he'd gotten pretty good at it; at this point he knew, not only what he ought to buy, but where to find his desired items and knew what sales items were actually worth adding to his cart. Five minutes later and the boy was checking out, pulling out his little Froakie wallet and paying the cashier with the little money he had left of his allowance; he was getting low on funds...

Huey gave himself a moment to put away his new items, amongst the haul a large pack of potions, but kept out one of the flutes he'd bought, curious of it. Now he wasn't the most musical around, but from what the cashier had told him it was actually an item that could attract specific pokemon in a particular region. The boy looked at the music book that he'd been given, complimentary when a Black Flute was purchased, and opened it up haphazardly to try and look at the music for a random pokemon. It didn't look too hard to follow, a few short blasts and tips on the side of the page to help beginners out, in fact it almost looked kind of fun! Huey found himself smiling sheepishly as he imagined himself playing a certain tune and having a pokemon run out to him, just like the Pied Piper, and daydreamed a bit of such an event as he walked. It was due to this lack of attention that caused him to take a wrong turn on his way back to Chargestone Cave, and headed in the direction of an entirely different cave; there were far too many caves in this town....

Ajicka didn't really have time to mess around with this battle. She went to the pokecenter and contemplated whether to switch anyone out or around. Her team... wasn't exactly.... at all built for this sort of typing, but... maybe it would be a challenge. Or maybe she'd just have to be smart about it. Either way, she wasn't too worried, and if she had to, she could always rely on Swampert. She wanted to at least try and using it as a training opportunity, though, and once her pokemon were healed, she made her way to the gym to challenge Clay. Hopefully it wouldn't take too long...
Ajicka took eviolite from Smoochum and gave it to Joltik!

Closing his eyes the gym leader crossed his arms over his chest and gave a nod, grunting quietly. "Yew've got a strong pair of 'mons 'n uh good head on yer shoulders, missy. Yer strategy was right sound," he spoke slowly as he re-opened his eyes and settled them on Ajicka. Rolling his shoulder forward and back he approached the young lady, something akin to a smile appearing briefly on his face. "Here." He extended his hand out to give present her rewards. "This here's the Quake Badge, and Bulldoze; use thuh second one however ya please."

Ajicka quirked an eyebrow and bowed her head a bit as she gave Clay a look. Uh-huh.... Well, obviously her strategy was sound, she did win.... but... still. She appreciated the fact that he recognized there was.... strategy. Even if it wasn't phenomenal or exactly inspired. "Thanks," she remarked pretty simply, reaching out to take the rewards. She gave a nod, looking them over as she withdrew her hand, then turned to head out. She needed to head to Mistralton now. She'd either train more, or battle the gym leader once she got there. Honestly, the idea of training more was... tiring, but.... at least she had those weird texts to read, and maybe Rose will have replied by then, too...

Huey nodded eagerly, rather proud that his suggestion would be taken seriously and followed; though it was more than likely that Sebastian had already been thinking of doing just that. "I bet you could get at least four more using your Pichu!" he surmised excitedly, gaze switching between trainer and pokemon. The Pichu line seemed like a good pokemon to have, but.. he reminded himself that he had Beep and he didn't need to add to his, already high, number of pokemon.
With Dianna in the lead, and using her nose to guide them, it wasn't long before Huey found himself blinking in the late morning sun as they left the cave. "Alright, we made it!" he exclaimed, relieved. The young blonde looked around, reacquainting himself with their surroundings before he nodded and began, confidently, leading them away from the cave and back into the city. From there it was just following the, semi-familiar, path back to Chargestone; which was easy to do when he was actually paying attention.
"Yeah, I think so," Huey remarked, lifting his head up so that he could look at Sebastian. "I want to get all eight badges, and even the Elite Four!" Embarrassingly enough, he actually hadn't given his 'end game' much thought, but after speaking aloud he realized that, getting all eight badges and going on to take on the Unova league, was something he wanted to do. "I might go on to the other regions and grab their badges too, though, before I take on the league," he added, thoughtfully. "What about you, Sebastian? What's your plan?" he inquired, curious about what the man, with his many badges, would do.
Huey perked up as, after a few minutes of walking, they came upon the entrance of Driftveil's other cave, the faint blue hue from the rocks inside bathing its mouth. "Here we are!" Excited, he put on a burst of speed, turning his head back to look at Sebastian and make sure he didn't lose him; he wouldn't be much of a 'junior tour guide' if he allowed that to happen. "C'mon, Sebastian, you gotta see this! I think you'll really like this place!"
