Marx had gotten onto the train with the intention of going through everything and being productive. Ultimately, though, he ended up falling asleep. It came in a sudden wave, and overwhelmed him, and before he knew it, he had passed out. But hey! The fair had been tiring! And his backpack was heavy! Weirdly heavy, in fact....
Shortly after he passed out, one of his pokeballs snapped open of its own accord, and a little green pokemon appeared. Elgyem climbed up onto the bench, staring at Marx's backpack, then reached in, eye twitching when he noticed the dark snoozing fox there. He... He knew it! He knew he sensed a dark pokemon's presence! But, this was problematic... How did it get here? He looked at Marx, then down at the pokemon. He would have to figure out a way to deal with this... He looked back at Marx, then closed the bag up, and walked back over to his pokeball. With one last narrowed look at the bag, he disappeared, and the cart grew quiet safe the soft snoring of Marx... and the zorua in his bag.

Arriving at Mauville, Marx exited the train and headed for the pokecenter, his bag slung over one shoulder. He went inside to get his pokemon healed up, and dropped down onto a bench while he waited. He blinked when he noticed something squirm in his bag, and his eyes widened as he quickly lunged for it, immediately assuming that, perhaps, the egg had hatched. He blinked, though, when he pulled his bag open to find a furry black mass. A... fox? The pokemon stirred a bit in his bag, adjusting itself, but didn't wake. He looked at it, then reached down, carefully picking it up to pull it out. It was soft. Warm. Still very asleep. He pulled it closer and the zorua snuggled up against him. He blinked in surprise, though, when the air itself seemed to waver and move, and everything around him began to shimmer and change. "Whoa!" Marx looked around, his eyes wide as he found himself sitting on a bench in a field of flowers, a strangely bright, orange sun filling the horizon, a hill rising gently in front of him to meet it, with a tree atop. It was... it was really pretty! Surreal even, but... what...
He looked down at the fox, and as it stirred, the illusion shifted, and then faded away. Marx relaxed after a moment, looking down at it. So... it had done that? He curiously pulled out his pokedex and scanned the pokemon, but smiled when it identified it as a Zorua. His expression turned quizzical when it registered this one as... his. Had it caught itself in one of his pokeballs when he wasn't looking? It must have. Huh...

The brunette was still sort of marveling over everything he'd just witnessed and came to learn, but he was shaken from it when his name was called, and his pokemon were ready. He looked curiously down at the zorua, then looked into his bag, to make sure the egg was okay. He blinked, though, when he thought he saw it move. Did it...? He stared a long moment, but... he didn't see it again. Hesitating, he put the zorua back into his bag, still sleeping, and zipped it up, though he was careful to leave some open to let air move through. He pulled his bag back on, went to get his pokemon, and headed out. Now he just needed to head... to the desert, he was pretty sure, and then he could find the next gym's city from there. Or was it a town...

After a long ride back from the Renaissance fair, Evan found himself eager more than ever to get back to traveling and concurring badges. Of course he couldn't forget his ultimate goal... Returning to Lilycove City to see about regaining Evangeline's memories. Of course, there was also the whole ordeal with the unknown force making the Unown go crazy at the ruins. For now, he had his goals set on Lavaridge, which is just where he was heading before he remembered something. Rather, before something reminded him of something. A sign to be precise, as he'd walked right into it unaware it was in front of him. Calling back out Saga to accompany him along with Zoro, the male headed for the Eye clinic. As it were, he'd spent much longer than 2 days away from Mauville, so when he arrived, the doctor wasn't to happy with Evan. Regardless, the glasses still fit and the prescription was still the same. Checking himself out in a mirror for a while. Happy with what he had, Evan payed for the glasses outright and moved on, it was time to head towards Lavaridge.
Though, another obstacle presented itself as he exited the mall-like city. Face to face now with a male trainer. "Hey, Wanna battle!?" He called out, a Shellos already out for battle. Despite wanting to get moving, a bit of training wouldn't hurt him any. Hronn could use an extra boost after all. "Sure." Calling out Hronn, the two began their battle. Hronn, being quicker got in a hard hitting Earthquake, while the Shellos managed to shoot off a Mud Bomb, despite their attempts to lower Hronn's accuracy, his second Earthquake was a hard move to miss let along dodge. Sending out a Chingling next, Evan glanced back to Zoro. The Zorua-in-disquise slunked away, reappearing on the field as the Dragon-type, Origin. The Chingling's trainer called for a Confusion, only to end up confused himself as the attack seemed to do nothing to the Tyrunt. Zoro used this chance to attack with a Pursuit. Trying this time to use Astonish instead, the attack hit, albeit a bit weak. Zoro quickly finished off the Chingling in his normal tiny fox form, with another Pursuit.
The males final Pokemon was an interesting sight. An Axew. Calling Zoro back to his side, Evan unleashed the actual Origin onto the field. Far speedier than the tiny dragon, Origin rushed forward with a heavy foot and stomped down upon the Axew. It retaliated with a Dual Chop, which in turn actually effected Origin quiet a lot. However, Origin quickly dealt with the runt with an Earthquake.

Evan watched as the male returned his fallen Axew, standing there with the dragon's ball in hand for a moment before he took in a deep breath and stepped forward. As he drew closer and closer, the more Evan realized just how different it was seeing the world around him with his new glasses on. While being more clear, he could see almost every feature now on the males face... almost. Some things weren't so obvious, but whatever the case, when the male extended his hand in a kind gesture, Evan replied in kind. "Yur pretty strong." The male replied. "I wasn't expecting you to have a Zorua." Evan nodded in response. "Anyway, good luck." With that the male disappeared towards Mauville, likely going to heal up his Pokemon.
Evan, realized he too had some healing to do. While none of his Pokemon had fainted, they did take a beating, at least a little bit. Kneeling down, Evan greeted Zoro, still in fox form, Origin and Hronn for a quick spritz of potion. After everyone seemed to be fairing better, Evan started up the metaphorical train once more.

As the desert came into view for what felt like the hundredth time since he'd started this journey, Evan looked down to Hronn, happily following along at his side. "We should get in some training while we're in the desert. You're strong enough now to hold your own I bet." Evan grinned. The Marshtomp nodded, holding up one of his fin-like hands to his chest. While it wasn't actually their hundredth time visiting the desert, it was a familiar sight regardless, the arid landscape reminded him of the creepy time he'd had in those ruins where Aska had joined him, rather Eon. Hipefully... that was all behind them. Without Evangeline's memories, Evan wasn't really to find of ruins right now.

And touch down once more. Lafayette hopped off before Dova had even fully hit the ground, still rearing to keep moving and get this business done. The sooner the better. It was becoming harder and harder to focus on the situation at hand but he needed to knock these gyms out all the same. If only to be caught up on his original task.
Though he did have to pause. A little inquiring had taught him that this gym was electric typing. He didn’t quite have a team that could go against that so easily. Hm. Now well this would be tricky. He’d have to browse through his collection of TMs and see if he could put any of them to use for this battle.

Lafayette paused on a nearby bench, dropping his bag down and beginning to dig through it. He couldn’t read the names on the TMs, so it was a good thing the TM case read them out if he shuffled through them. Still though, he wasn’t entirely certain what to do. Cheri climbed up on the bench as well, standing next to him and looking at the TM case curiously. She took it from her trainer, beginning to rifle through them before holding up one to Lafayette.
The blonde stared a moment, eyebrow quirking as Cheri shook the disc and then pointed in Noah’s direction. Silent communication occurred, with Lafayette looking between Cheri and his Dewott (who seemed just as equally confused), a look of confusion on his face.
"Noah’s a wateh pokie sheila, he’ll get wrecked." Lafayette murmured. This didn’t seem to dissuade Cheri though, who continued to shake the disc and gesture to Noah. It was evident she wanted Lafayette to use the TM on Noah and that she didn’t seem to approve of any other choice. Oh well. The Aussie shrugged, taking the disc, and slapping it into the TM case before kneeling and holding the device on the sides of the Dewott’s head. He watched his pokemon flinch as a new move was learned before he gave a cheer, fists pumping into the air. Well, at least he seemed excited.
"A’igh’ then mate… let’s hope this works." Lafayette remarked. HE knew type advantages and water against electric wasn’t usually smart. Hopefully, this wasn’t going to get Noah too hurt; Cheri seemed certain about the choice but still. Neh. With that he headed for the direction of the gym, an excited Noah bouncing behind him as Cheri toddled along as well.

And once more into a gym they went. Lafayette was wearing a frown, still rather uncertain about the idea of Noah taking on the gym. One more wasn’t going to be enough and any electric attacks that got through were going to hurt him. The Dewott didn’t seem fazed at the dangers at all and Cheri… well she was unreadable with that blank stare of hers. But she seemed to have had faith in the idea and in her teammate and Lafayette tried to roll with that.
It wasn’t long before they were maneuvering through the place, avoiding barriers that were composed of pure tethers of electricity, sparking dangerously here and there. Lafayette was sure this was hazard on more than one level and that it defied a lot of codes and safety laws he’d heard about. Eventually though they made it through and once more found themselves on the battle field, facing off with a rather jovial looking individual. The fact he had open toed sandals on in a place like this made the Aussie dubious. ”Wahahaha! Here for a battle? You look like a tough one!” Wattson boasted, chuckling at high volume and making Lafayette even more dubious. This guy was weird. Wattson didn’t seem put off by this though, just eyeing the Aussie a moment before pulling out a pokeball.

Wattson blinked several times after the battle was over, and though stunned he made sure to return his Magneton. A moment of silence passed and then the older gentleman began to laugh, a long, hearty sound of amusement that left the man grinning long after he'd quieted down. "Well that's certainly not something you see every day!" he boomed, placing one hand onto his back as he leaned backwards. Wattson gave another chuckle before he walked over to the side of the room, retrieving a badge and a disc, and then made his way over to Lafayette. "A water type single-handedly taking on an electric gym, it's certainly impressive. The fact that he only took damage from a single attack is what floors me, you sir have more than earned this badge," he explained before handing the very item to the taller man. "And here, take this as well, Thunder Wave, if used right it can become an invaluable strategy in battle."

Lafayette was probably just as shocked as Wattson over the success of that battle. He had very much expected it to go south; that those electric types would get to Noah and he’d have to swap in someone else. Even with Dig as a move, there wasn’t a way to deal with that serious disadvantage. But… Noah did it. All on his lonesome.
The Aussie grinned as his pokemon skipped back to him, scooping him up into his arms and giving him a solid hug of pride. Okay, this was a mood booster and for once in the past several hours, Lafayette gave an honest grin. "Ya lil’ rippah! That was ********’ bonzah!" He remarked, earning a squeal of glee from the Dewott and he wrapped arms around Lafayette’s neck and rubbed cheeks. Aw hell yes it was amazing.
The blonde stopped in his enthusiasm as Wattson approached and addressed them, still grinning with pride as he took his winnings. What the gym leader said was an understatement; the Aussie had certainly expected and prepared for much worse. "Ta mate, ‘ppreciate it. Proud of mah pokie on tha’." He took a step back, Noah still held in the crock of one arm, using his free one to give a wave. "Ooroo mate." He replied, turning and leading the way out the gym. A quick and well deserved trip to the pokemon center had Noah healed up proper and with only a minor detour to get some good treats for his pokemon to enjoy, he soon they were off to the next region to start on those badges as well. Lafayette was feeling in a much better mood from that. A nice change for once.

Olivia chuckled lightly before she nodded, in agreement with the conclusion Vince had come to. "I can live with that," she joked. She wouldn't argue Vince on how he felt --even after explaining himself she still held an opposing opinion-- but at the very least, the two of them could agree that who he had reacted to had been fair. After all, Avikna's Ampharos hadn't done anything to Vince. With her attention focused on leading them Olivia wasn't even aware that Vince had started a conversation with Elgyem, and his sudden outburst caused the pinkette to look over at him in confusion, "huh?" Elgyem continued to ignore Olivia in favor of conversing with the woman's companion, easily catching up to him even after he took the time to move away from her. "I have no use for humor, Vincent," she insisted. "And, unlike you humans, I do not lie; I find it ineffective." The psychic type paused, sensing Vince's stubbornness. "However, I can empathize with your attempts to remain in denial. At least without hard proof, and so I shall cease my endeavors." And with that Elgyem removed herself from Vince's side, severing their mental link.
Olivia, who had put two-and-two together --at least about the conversing-- looked at both Vince and Elgyem in confusion and concern, the latter reserved for Vince. "What were you two talking about?" she inquired once Elgyem had returned to her side. "I was trying to educate him on another Alola variant. He grew resistant," was her simple response, and then the psychic grew silent; signaling that was all she'd reveal. Olivia, only left even more confused, nearly missed when Vince addressed her; the slightest of smiles managing to form on her face when his words did register. "Glad to know the feeling is mutual," she commented. Convincing herself that she could always ask Vince about his talk later Olivia relaxed herself back and gave herself back completely to the conversation. "Hey, it's hard to remember where exactly every building is in these cities," she argued playfully.
When Vince offered to pay for their tickets Olivia simply handed her money over, trading it for a ticket, before she turned to him with a cheeky grin. "Don't worry about it, this money is burning a hole in my pocket anyway." Though, clearly, joking it still didn't take away from the fact that she'd rather spend her own money than have Vince pay for the both of them; she had a bit of disposable income, and they both equally excited for the trip. Or well, maybe 'excited' wasn't quite the right word for it. "That's the next best thing," Olivia insisted after settling into her seat, she couldn't actually remember ever seeing Vince 'excited' before. Beneath her Blue immediately turned to Xiu Feng, playfully probing her with his paw. "You assume correctly," she teased. "Remind me to take a few pictures while we're there, alright? I want something I can send back to my family."
The train ride over to Mauville was a peaceful one, with Olivia keeping herself occupied by talking to Vince about a variety of different topics and checking in with her pokemon every so often. When they finally did arrive Olivia gave herself the chance to grab her bags and stretch before she headed off the train, leaving the station behind in a series of quick-paced footsteps. "Well, here we are!" Olivia announced, turning to Vince with a grin. "Welcome to Mauville City, Vince. What are your thoughts so far?" she gestured around them, careful not to collide her hand into any passing stranger. That would've been bad.

Vince tried to ignore the robotic pokemon's use of logic to convince him, somewhat irritated with it's use of his full name to give this discussion some sense of formality when it felt like a prank on the elgyem's part. "Regardless, I find it hard to believe you." He insisted, feeling even more perturbed as the elgyem claimed he was in denial and backed off due to not being able to provide hard evidence to support her ridiculous claim. Vince was at least grateful she would cease to pursue the idea, but if she was backing off this easily from her little prank, he wished she'd never brought it up in the first place. He was confused as Olivia asked about their conversation, almost certain that the elgyem would have included her in on the telepathic link. The fact that she wasn't made Vince feel even more suspicious about the elgyem's claims. "She's trying to convince me that there's an exeggutor with an alolan palm tree form that has a dragon typing." He elaborated, his tone clearly unamused.
Vince did relax somewhat after Olivia talked about how she'd felt about their time together, agreeing with the sentiment himself. He might not have been able to understand how she enjoyed his presence, but he was nevertheless grateful for it. Still, he teased her on the irony that she had become his tour guide, given how they had initially met. "This is true." He conceded. "I myself probably wouldn't have been able to direct you had I not passed it a moment or so before you asked me about it." He smiled. He wasn't nearly that familiar with Kalos, but he was observant. As they approached the ticket booth, he had wanted to pay for their transport, but given Olivia's nature, he wasn't surprised when she bought her tickets anyways, chuckling a bit at her reasoning. While Vince was more content with their trip at the moment than anything else, Olivia fully admitted to her excitement, asking him to remind her to take pictures for her family. "Ah... Evan's feelings were somewhat mixed when he finally stepped foot within the cities limits. It felt both like he'd only been here yesterday and that he hadn't been here for awhile. It was confusing to the mind, but luckily Luffy was there to distract him. 'We're here! The train is that way isn't it?!' The feline voiced, floating forward. He flew so fast, and at such a downward slope, he ended up colliding with the ground after a bit of light running. Zoro quickened his pace, rolling his eyes as he walked up to the feline and picked him up by his straw hat. Luffy regained himself mid-air, floating back to the safely of Zoro's shoulder. "Why are you so excited?" The fox asked, furrowing his human illusions face into a look of annoyance. "Why wouldn't he be? We're going to be up against a whole new set of gyms once we enter Johto again." Evan replied. Luffy nodded, all the while rubbing his snout. 'I don't really care for the big buildings, but I do like trains.' Zoro rolled his eyes once more. a 'whatever' sigh passing along with it. He hid it well, but the fox was actually just as excited. The train dock wasn't to far from here. Evan himself was feeling more and more excited the closer he got. Though that might be due to the slow pace they were going at. Sanji, seemingly a ladies mon, had fluttered over to a nearby shop that seemed to sell primarily wigs. Evan didn't really get what was attractive about a Hitmonlee, but he'd keep that one to himself as he wondered over, only to find the more hungry looks upon him. "E-eh... Umm, Sorry if he's bother you... ladies... But-" "Nonsense, we love all sorts of Pokemon here." A lady spoke up, coming quickly to Evan's side, wrapping her own arm around his. "Are you his trainer?"
